I wanted a place for vapors to share their storys about falling off the vape train and getting hit by the cig truck.

I feel its important for us to learn from each other, with our wins and fails!

Please take a min to share your fall off of vaping and your feelings about it, like did you feel guilty, or wanna just smack your self or were you ok with it? Aparently you got back on the train or you probably wouldent be seeing this.

Also provide any tips for others to not make the mistakes you may have made. And cause and effect of smoking after vaping.

To me I think it is important that we fail in order to learn, I smoke a cig here and there and every time it reminds Me of why I started vaping and how much I love it vs smoking.

I have actually contemplated having a cig today for the first time in 2 months, life has been stressful and i think i need one. We shall see.

I think about it from time to time ,my son and his girlfreind both smoke and it smells kind of good .But I am weak as water and so I don't tempt fate. There is 20 in a pack ,you can't buy one.Been almost two years now.Funny burning tobacco smells good to me but the smell of stale smoke is pretty nasty.

I have not yet. I had an easy first two weeks. Now I find myself looking at new gadgets or juice when I feel the urge, that helps. Well, it does not help my credit card.

Good luck to everyone. I hope to have a 2 year, smoke free banner of my own. If/when I make it 6 months, I'm going to get a Provari and at least one other cool mod.

No if you will excuse me, all this cig talk has got me going. Maybe I NEED to buy a Megaladon today.

My theory is to not set myself up for failure.

I've said it several times on here; I use both cigs and vape; whichever I want when I want. I'll let them fight the battle between themselves. One or the other will eventually win, or, I'll stay BI. No big deal.

I wouldn't really call it a relapse, but about two weeks after I started vaping we had a big snow that took our power out for 3 days. I didn't have a car charger so with no way to charge my batteries, I ended up smoking. The they tasted terrible!!! That's when I came to realize that it's a good thing there are no eliquids that taste like a real cigarette! LOL!

Oh- right after that is when my mad obsession with backups started.

It doesn't even phase me these days. I think for me, it's been so long I just don't think about it anymore. I have no lighters in my home, no ashtrays, no other smokers. It almost seems like a dream that I ever smoked at all. Add the fact that for me to start smoking, especially being the founder of this site, would be the ultimate fail. At lot of people here and around my town always watch to see if I'll ever start again.

I will say though, that the first year I started vaping I relapsed a couple months in. Things where a bit rough and I just didn't want to deal with another stupid atomizer so I picked up a pack of cigarettes. They where nasty, but I'll admit, you can't fault how simple and quick they are to use. Since then though, I have not lit up another. It feels like freedom to know I'll never have to go back. I never thought the day would come that I could walk into a gas station and hardly notice the cigarettes at the back counter. I usually head straight for the chip isle. :)

I smoked one two weeks into vaping and I can honestly say I don't think I'll ever have another. I can't even handle the smell of them anymore.

I had three cigs one day a couple weeks ago when my batt ran out at work! Then took two drags a few days ago to see how it would taste. It actually tasted pretty good, but not good enough to make up for how GREAT I feel since I stopped smoking. Also, the way I see it, if you want a smoke from time to time no harm done. It's the pack+ a day habit that destroys your body. A cigarette or cigar at a party once in a while wont kill you.

Within the first two weeks of starting vaping I made the mistake of going to the casino over on the west coast of Fl. A normal night at the casino would have easily been a pack of analogs over several hours. I really wanted an analog very badly when I was there - I made it out without having one but did buy a pack the next day and had one - and it was not very tasty at all.

That was it, now I find with each day that passes my tolerance for the smell and the smoke of an analog grows less and less - I don't want to be that ex-smoker but frankly it stinks and its tough to not react.

So i did actually give in and go out back last night. I took two puffs. Nasty. And thought to myself "why did i ever smoke?"

Oh, i also noticed how much harder i had to draw on the cig vs vaping. Maybe because they were 2 months old and stale?

Your replys are great, I wanted to start this thread because I have seen that some ppl that were here a year ago have just came back after smoking again ,, while I'm glad they have returned to vaping I'm courious as to why we get off vaping.. I don't have this issue,, I wil have a cig knowing I'm not chained to them anymore, tho I don't enjoy it, I think mentally that addiction will allways be there. And I will allwYs wonder is snoking gonna be good again? I don't see myself returning to smoking but wondered if you did and what will will come of vaping for you if you did.

I still have not had a cig in 3 months now. I would not mind one, but I know I cant. when I quit smoking and started vaping, i would go out and buy cigars for the plastic tips. I used them on my e-cigs. I had to stop buying them because the cigars smelled really good. they were flavored. I bought a cherry cigar for the tip. cost me .89 cents.lol. now when I see or smell smoke, I want to get out of there fast. i dont like the odor from cigs anymore. If I want a smoke, I come to the site and read the posts or post something to the forum.

If by any chance I want a smoke, i have a bag of tobacco and my rolling machine and some tubes to roll me a smoke. But, I do not think I would relapse. even with all the stress going on here, I WILL NOT SMOKE!

For me, I have no desire at all. Even on the worst emotionally gut wrenching day Ive had since my quit, I went straight to the vape shop and bought a bottle of the harshest strongest juice made. It never even occured to me to smoke.

Yesterday, I worked 7 hours without vaping and never thought about it either. If I was smoking, I would have steped over a box burning kittens to get to take smoke break.

I seriously never thought my addiction to cigarettes would ever go away. 27 years +1 ppd it was like my best friend, I could not even imagine my life with out them. Maybe I'm fooling my self and a relapse is around the corner, but Im just not feeling the things anymore. I really feel free now and PROUD to vape!

Hi, my name is Dave and I fell off the wagon yesterday. :crybaby: I have been analog free for a little over 2 months and vaping 11mg - 16mg liquid. Yesterday was an extremely stressful day and I just couldn't get the needed 'calm' from my PV so I stopped and bought a pack of analogs  Now that I have them, it is just so DAMN easy to smoke them...hmmm a lighter and a cig....no filling tanks, no dripping hassle, just whip it out and instant gratification (DEATH)! I will probably keep them around and finish up the darn pack (since I am inherently cheap) but the good news is that I have only smoked less than 1/2 the pack in 30+ hours (previously 1 1/2 packs a day). I have been vaping most of the day both days, but still whipping out an analog for convenience. But, I have vowed that I WILL NO LONGER BE A SMOKER! I have now acquired some 24mg pre-filled cartomizers from a friend for whom they were too strong just to have around when another such stress filled emergency arrives. I am now prepared for the bad days as well as the normal.

Please don't tell me I have to reset my smoke free counter...I was so proud :help:

Hey Dave, Glad to hear your not giving up vaping, because you have to help me get the monthly South Central PA Vape Meet together! construction.gif And besides, you have to wear out that eGo - T kit you won! I don't know about anyone else, but I don't even read the smoke free counters.

Hang in there Dave!thumbsup.gif

PADave, I sure hope your not beating yourself up over this! You have done a great job so far, a few smokes? Who cares! Your gonna beat this yet! Just keep coming back, your not alone. PS your counter.......I won't tell

I, like many others, tried an analog after about 1 - 2 weeks of vaping... and it was TERRIBLE! I actually only made it through 5 or 6 drags and had to toss it. That was the last tobacco smoke I will ever inhale into my lungs.... and this is a fact. Vaping is just so much more satisfying, clean, and tasty to me... that analogs are now simply a thing of my past.

GET OFF THAT 'ONE OR TWO EVERY NOW AND THEN' THING, J-ROCK... YOU DON'T NEED EM AT ALL!

I thought you were better than that anyway? LOL!! Party on!!

I've really enjoyed reading this thread. All the tales of temptation and triumph! The only time I really relapsed was after a fall from a horse that left me with a broken arm. I was in too much pain and not ambidextrous enough to refill my cartridges with my one usable hand so I ended up smoking for a couple of weeks. They tasted terrible and I was so happy when I was finally able to manage my e-cigarette again! A lot of other posters mentioned how bad cigarettes taste. It amazed me to go back to them after several months away and realize that the taste I thought I loved was actually really awful!

Yeah, I briefly returned to smoking after 2 years of vaping. It seems like after the novelty wore off I was left with the continuing frustration of getting a reliable vape from my pv. The batteries were so inconsistent. None of them held a charge for long (if they charged at all), so I was juggling 5...6...7 batteries a day. That and the carts and the batting and the juice leaks and the....ARRRGHHHH! Near the end there I was just sucking on dead batteries, not even bothering to charge them anymore.

I threw in the towel. I started vaping again when my local convenience store began selling e-cigs. It was alright for awhile but I was soon faced with the same frustration that caused me to initially stop. Was about to quit again when I stumbled upon a Facebook ad for the eGo. Up to then I had never even considered trying another style e-cig. (I'm loyal to a fault when it comes to certain things.) So I decided to take a chance...turns out the eGo was what I expected from an e-cig from the beginning. I've used it everyday now for 2 months and it hasn't failed me yet, so it looks like I'm back for good.

Amazing how easy it is to pick up the smoking habit again. What wasn't so easy for me was smelling cigarette smoke in my clothes and in the car (I'd never noticed it prior to vaping.) And my basement, where I lounge, started to smell funky again. You know...that stale cigarette smell?

What was worse was the reaction of my co-workers. As much as they kidded me about my electronic toy (one woman has nicknamed me "007"), they were horrified when they discovered I was smoking again. I felt like a walking ashtray.

I hope things work out for you so that you can manage to accept vaping permanently.

(One can only do the best that one can at any given time, so do be kind to yourself...)

Congratulations on picking up an Ego and dropping the analogs again! I am fairly new, but have been very satisfied with the performance of my Ego and Riva. I am currently using the T-tank system which is pretty nice with the LR atties, but still a little too labor intensive. I am considering either the new B type T-tank, or some type of a bottom feeder mod. I am looking for the whole 'fill it and forget it' type system where I don't have a lot of prep work for my daily vape.

I have not had an analog since my slip the other week and vaping is definitely the way to go from here on out!

Best of luck to you staying off for good this time as well.
