VaporNewbie
Hello Everyone, I bought my eGo almost 2 weeks ago. I use the cartridges when I am away and direct drip when I am at home. My question for all of you is how often do you have to put juice in when direct dripping. It seems to me like I get a funny taste after only a few draws. I only put 2 or three drips into the device at a time. I changed the atomizer thinking that may be where the taste was coming from but to no avail I still get a nasty taste after a few draws. I know the answers will vary from smoker to smoker but how much juice do you all go through in a week? I am using a 510 low resistance atomizer. BirdDog
For direct dripping you can only use 2-3 drops and will get about 5-7 draws before having to re-drip for a standard atomizer. The LR's run much hotter and produce a warmer vapor. You will be dripping more with less draws. The atomizer needs to stay moist or you will get that nasty taste. TroopX
3-4 drops when you direct drip should last around 5-7 pulls in your 510 LR- then fill again. You can taste, as you've noticed, when you need to put more liquid in. Some drops are bigger, so use these numbers loosely and re-drip when you feel it getting dry. Amount of juice consumed is different for everyone, and it depends on how much you vape. 3-5ml's/day seems in the ballpark for me, but it does depend on the atty also. (LR 306's seem to burn juice faster than when I do 510 lr) You may also be getting the primer taste lingering through- in which case, make sure you blow the primer out, dewick and clean your atty before break-in. Good luck, and welcome to VT!

mwsmith1778
A little tip: When using a fresh atomizer, I would drip a few drops and then puff on it a few times without inhaling. Then drip 3 more drops and you should be good. That will also help avoid a mouthful of burnt-tasting juice.
nana
Welcome to Vapor Talk. I go through about 5 to 6 ml of liquid in a day. It used to be less, but went up when I started using the LR attys. I guess that's the price you pay for the better vapor production. Good luck and happy vaping!

ripple
One other thought - when I got my eGo I tried dripping and hated it, I could not understand what the hype was about. After some time working with cartos I tried again and same thing. But then I de-wicked the atty's and what a difference - give it a try!

Sharon
I agree with Ripple. It wasn't until I dewicked my atty, was I able to get a good clean tasting vape. Good luck.

VaporNewbie
Thanks for all the replies everyone, I recently got some strawberry e-liquid. Geez this really tastes bad when its not good and moist. I appreciate all the help, and was wondering what the flavorings are made with and what affect do the additives have on the vapor as far as health goes. Vaponaut
From what I've read/watched during my research, depending on the size bottle you get, your liquid could contain anywhere from 3 to 6 drops of flavoring in it. This flavoring is the same thing that is in "artificial" and natural flavors you find in food. If I'm completely wrong, someone will correct me. It's hard to tell with the liquid I get because there is no list of ingredients. I am strictly going by videos I have seen for DIY tutorials. I do want to add that no matter what the flavoring ingredients are, they pale in comparison of the risks and affects of inhaling tobacco smoke. But this is just my opinion. I dunno about that one, I am sure the cigarette makers back in the day didn't know all the health risks of smoking... common sense tells me the more components that are put in there the more of a health risk, I think I will just stick to menthol after this strawberry is gone:)(For now at least)
Vaponaut
Definitely true, this is why I put artificial in quotes.. I'm not 100% sure whats in the artificial flavorings added to some liquid. Some liquid contains extracts from various things to come up with the flavoring.
EiderDuck
I am not sure if this is new info or not but after watching the movie "The Insider" I searched on YouTube for video's of the main character Jeffrey Wigand. Definitely an eye opener GPurv
