Tornado Tank Atomizer

Recommended Posts

I was so excited when I received my New Tornado Tank Atomizer and empty cartridges. I watched the how to video. I filled the empty cartridge, not all the way to the top. inserted the cartridge into the atty. Twisted it a few times to make sure the hole was open all the way. Attached the atty to my eGo. Let it sit a minute. Took four hard drags without the battery on. Pressed the battery and took four more quick drags. And, NOTHING. Again and again and again. Again, nothing. veryangry.gif

Anybody have some tips or do you think I got a bum tank atty? crybaby.gif

Thanks

When I first received my tank atty, I put it on one of my original eGo batteries, the really short, maybe 650mah ones. It wouldn't fire. I don't know why. I put it on a longer battery, a 750mah, and it fired right up. I went back to a normal atty, put it on the 650mah batt, and it didn't fire either. Weird. The 650mah fires a carto no problem, but not an atty. I would try a different battery that you have, or you might have to get a higher mah battery. I don't know why this makes a difference, but it does seem to for some reason. Don't toss it yet!

Hey Aimee,

I got my tank from TW. I just check their web site and the Tornado Tank Starter kit comes with a 650 Mah battery. The same as my eGo, so it should be working. I'm so bummed.sad.gif

You can write TW and they should answer you back, just explain the problem you are having. Good luck!!!

Thanks Fran, I just sent them an email. I hope they will rectify the problem in a timely manner.

I ordered my tank from Totally Wicked, too. It's just that my 650mah batteries are older, used and worn and such. Like I said, they don't even fire a regular atty at this point either. So if your battery is a bit older and used and worn from recharges, maybe that's why? That's what I'm going with for mine. But I do have other batteries to use. And it sounds like you don't and that they are newer. I hope it works out for you and that you hear back from TW with good news.

My TW tank atomizer works fine with my old (almost 6 months) 650mAh eGo battery and my newer 900mAh eGo battery. If you can check the resistance on the tank atomizer, that will tell you if the coil is good. Radio Shack has cheap VOM meters. They might even help ya check the resistance of the atomizer coil, if you locate a Radio Shack store with a knowledgeable sales manager. If the coil shows no resistance, or an open reading, that means the coil is no good, or disconnected. Check the resistance between the center contact and the outer threads. (Positive and negative contacts) Hope that helps! :)

But if the atomizer doesn't heat up on any eGo battery, it's bad and TW should replace it. :)

Yep, I just got my eGo Wednesday.

This will be a test to see if TW has good customer service. question.gif

  • 1 month later...

I have written to TW 3 times about my atomizer for the tank. It broke! stopped working like 2 to 3 weeks after getting it..made me very angry. It was an expensive atomizer too. It should last more then 2 to 3 weeks.

Most suppliers only replace attys if they are DOA

I dont know if the banning thing is an error on their side, but I did not do anything wrong. It was my very first visit to their site. I saw that they had tech support on their forum for issues people are having. so I wrote to them asking: why is it saying, I am sorry guest, but you have been banned from the forum? I never been to the forum until tonight to ask a question about my atty that died. they wrote back about my atty: Good afternoon

Thank you for your email we received in our office today.

We are sorry you are experiencing problems with your atomizer already. I have forwarded your email to our returns department who will contact you within the next 48 hours.

Kind regards

I'm glad they finally wrote back. Sounds like a form letter though. at least there was an apology. They should give you some kind of credit I hope.

As it turned out, my first tank atty was DOA. I sent TW an email and they instructed me to send it back and they would test it. If it was in fact DOA, they would send me a new one. They determined that the atty was in deed DOA and they sent me another one. Once I received the replacement atty I called and asked for a credit in the amount of the postage I had to pay to return the DOA atty. At first they were reluctant to refunding the cost of postage, but after I pointed out to them that this was the first time I had ever purchased a tank atty from them and that I wasn't trying to pull a fast one on them, they gave me a store credit in the amount of the return postage.

The replacement tank atty is working great. Since then I have purchased a back up tank atty and I am now waiting on a 1.7 Tank atty. As soon as Clouds of Vaper gets another shipment of MAP Mod Tanks in, I will be ordering on of them.

Good luck with this mess and I hope all the trouble you are having with this banning BS turns out to be a mistake on their part.

If the 650mah battery works on everything but the new tank atty.....it would almost seem your atty is not contacting the center post on the battery. As my batts get a little "older" and had many different species (tanks, cartos, charges) screwed down on them, the center post on your batt will get slowly shoved downward. It can be raised back up by working around it with a small device/paperclip. (just don't twist it). Same way on cartos that do not seem to fire from one device to the next. If it fires on one batt, but not the other, it's because the post is down more on the one not firing. You would take a paperclip or similar device and pull the batt end of the carto out a little in order to make contact.

Of course this would not work on the tank atty as the threads are fixed. Just a hunch but it does sound like your atty is not connecting to the center post on the batt.
