We are in the same boat. I'm looking for a good HV mod that's portable and has good battery life. I picked up an Xhaler 6V used from one of the members here and have been somewhat disappointed with the thing. Short battery life, horrible button, and heavy as heck! It does work good, though. I'm waiting on the Joker to come out since it looks like a jam up device. You might look at the Chuck, too. It looks pretty sturdy.

Jeff, you are absolutely right. I stand corrected. I guess they sound too much alike! Thanks for the correction!

On a serious note: I do understand that ingesting vs inhaling would be totally different. Does the PG absorb into the blood stream? Does it also pass through the skin like nicotine? A good test would be to see what the concentrations of PG in the blood were after vaping. Then the question becomes, is it dangerous in the long term? I think we all agree that we are choosing the lesser of 2 evils and even vaping is probably not without it's risks.

Yeah. They found my head up there to which my wife said "I told you so!".

I think Janty was working on one about a year ago like Chris said. Not sure what happened to that. Mcquinn, what a way cool idea!

OK. I little over-sharing here. I had to go for the good old colonoscopy Monday and the prep was to ingest, get this, almost 8 grams of polyethylene glycol! Miralax is almost pure PG! I would say the "side effects" are pretty dramatic but if your friendly doc orders you to ingest nearly 8 grams of the stuff, how can the FDA say it's harmful?

Heck, I just drip straight VG out of the bottle! Works great! Contrary to popular belief, this is more like cooking than science. If you want to do what your asking, I would just fill up about half a little bottle with VG, put a few drops (maybe 2) of flavoring and taste it. Not enough? Add 2 more. Keep going until you feel it's right. Just direct drip into the atty for testing. As for vapor production, in my opinion, it's more a function of the atty and the PV unit than juice. Nothing is going to produce more vapor than straight PG or VG. I think the reason some store bought juice doesn't produce much vapor is that they have fillers in there. But this is just a SWAG on my part.

nana you are really going to like the dse905. It's a great backup for the VP2. Plus, you can bore it out and make a 6v unit out of it. I'll be doing that this week and I'll post up a video on how to do it. I think a Dremel tool should do the trick.

It did say it didn't come with a battery or charger. It uses the 14500 battery and he's selling them for $4.79. That's a very good price and it's a "protected" battery with 900mah. He's also selling a great little charger for $4.99. So when you add it all up it's still only around $60 for the set. I personally love mine. It's reliable, vapes good, is pretty light weight, and feels good in your hand. I love the on/off switch on the bottom so you can drop it in your pocket without fear of smoking an atty. Plus, one charge lasts all day even for a heavy vapor like me. The only downside is I don't like the 901 atty so I bought an adapter. Listen, for that price, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Check out my video review in the video section for more info.

I've tried the TW juice. It's OK. No better than the stuff the other suppliers are selling, taste-wise. However, they are sourced in the UK and probably use better ingredience than the Chinese stuff but that's just a guess. They do have some crazy flavors and really cool graphics!

I just had to pass this on. MadVapes is running the DSE905 on sale for $39.99! I paid $59.99 for mine and thought it was a steal. I've seen them for as much as $99. It's a pretty nice device, too. Here's the link

Roger what Dannyboy said. It's more like smoking a cigar than an analog but I've found people smoke analogs differently, too. It's pretty much a fact that you will cough a little at first due to your lungs getting use to breathing in vapor but that usually goes away pretty quickly. Seems like my lungs hurt a little if I vape all day but nothing troublesome. The most common symptoms are dry mouth, headache, and maybe a little throat irritation. There is also a rare allergy to PG, one of the things in e-juice but it doesn't seem to have the symptoms you describe. I hate to say this but I would discontinue vaping and see if that helps. Sometimes, these things are hard to narrow down. If you still have aching lungs after laying off the vaping for a few days, by all means see a doctor. No sense taking any chances.

I was looking through the boards and couldn't find what I'm thinking of making. I like the 5v box mod on the thread below but what I've been thinking about is running 4 - 14500 with a pair in paralell and then those pair in series so you would still get the 7V or so but have a total of 1800mah for long life. Anybody ever tried a series/paralell arrangement like that?

That looks just like my "Spotty"!

Will this bozo just never go away?

I have some thoughts on it but it's purely speculative since I'm just now starting to experiment. The idea is that the PG or VG vaporizes because of the atty coil. Both substances have a vaporization point at about 120F. The flavorings, etc. would probably have a vapor point that is different from the PG/VG. Maybe lower since they are usually some type of oil. I think that maybe at high voltages, instead of vaporizing the flavored oils turn into a gas which is less flavorful. In other words, they could actually be burning rather than boiling. I've tried Nhaler's High Voltage juice (video review coming) and I honestly don't notice much difference in taste at 3.7,5,or 6V. We should maybe move this thread to DIY juice and continue it. We might come up with something good since we all seem to be moving toward HV units.

WOW! That is awesome! What is it? A cell phone case or something? I see you have an eGo tucked in there. They ROCK!

Man, I have other units but if my VP-PT died, I would be in panic mode. There is nothing I have found yet (including 6v units) that even come close. Hope it's back in your hands ASAP!

Most of us agree there is a learning curve associated with switching from analogs to vaping. It was helpful for me to watch some of the review videos to learn how to do it. You take long, shallow draws rather than deep, quick drags on an analog. Think of it more like using a soda straw. You will most likely cough a bit at first. That's normal as your lungs get use to inhaling a liquid vapor rather than smoke. Remember how you coughed when you first started smoking? It's a similar thing but it goes away very quickly just like when you started smoking regularly. One of the things that takes some getting use to is that there isn't a time limit on vaping like their is on smoking. You may vape a bit more than you smoked analogs. I personally miss the smell of analogs, too.Like I said, it takes some getting use to but once you are into it, it's just the most relaxing experience. Most people stop using analogs at all within the first 2-3 days. My dad and brother both just started vaping and never picked another analog up again. If you have an analog every now and again, don't beat yourself up. Vaping is a safer smoking alternaive and that's the way you have to think about it. If you say to yourself that you are never going to ever have another analog, that is mentally too difficult. Just take your time and get use to vaping. My advice, take it easy, get use to vaping and you will never regret it. In words of Dennis Miller - "That's just my opinion. I could be wrong."

This was a ROFLOL moment! Thank you!

OK. Here's the idiot who came up with this brilliant idea. Brad Pope, VP of HR HR? This bone head isn't even a medical professional! Hell, according to their web site, this bozo is getting kudos and awards! Please, Lord, don't let me get hurt or sick in Chattanooga, TN!

I find it humorous in this case. There is such a shortage of qualified medical staff in the country that it borders on frightening. From my experience, a very large percentage of nurses and other non-MD health care professionals are smokers (just check the smoking area at your local hospital). So basically, this hospital has just guaranteed themselves to be understaffed at all times. I think this was some higher up's knee jerk decision. I've seen this so many times where management just never thinks things through. It's a stupid idea and, unfortunately, the patients will pay for the lack of proper staff at the hospital. I do agree with GDub. It's a little known fact that a business has the right to impose any type of discrimination they want in the hiring practice as long as it is not race, sex, nationality, or religion based. I can set up my company so it's against policy to hire any males who have mustaches and there is absolutely nothing the law can say about it. But there is so much short sightedness and stupidity in management, it boggles the mind. This hospital administrator VP, Pope, is just one example of such idiots. It brings to mind a situation when I worked for IBM in the early 80s. Some mid-level manager decided that it would be a great idea to implement manditory drug testing (read that pot testing). He got all these kudos and bonuses. Then they starting testing and realized they would have to fire 90% of all their engineers! Needless to say, that policy was dropped like a hot potato!

"Tailpipe it" I love it! Add that to the vapor's wiki for sure! And, yes, I do that somethings when I'm lazy. Better on an 801, though.

I try to hit the little wick in the atty but I don't think it really makes any difference. Probably just some anal retentive thing!
