Juice Differences At 3.7V Vs 5V?
jmhester replied to ddavelarsen's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I'm not a real flavor freak but I have noticed that vaping at 6V or greater really tastes nasty. I think it's actually burning the juice rather than boiling it. Nhaler makes a high voltage juice but it doesn't seem to help in my opinion. I have more comments in my video on 7V vaping post in the videos section. -
My dad is an avid RC modeler and a vaper. The RC guys use huge LiPo batteries and are experts on this stuff. He said it was highly unlikely that an explosion would happen but it certainly could. The scariest thing he said is that he has heard of people burning their houses down when a LiPo explodes under charge. Apparently, they can create a fire. He recommended that you never charge a battery unattended. I use to charge mine overnight but not any more! He said that an alternative is to use an extension chord and charge them in a metal pot with a lid. That way if they catch fire, they won't start a fire. It's something to think about!

Now I could see that happening. It wouldn't take much pressure blow one up. My brother and I use to play around with stuff like that when we were kids and it's surprising how little pressure it takes to make something split at the seams. I was looking at the BB and it looks like there is no venting for the battery. If the pressure has no where to go, I'm guessing it will pick the atty connector since that's probably the weakest point. Having an atty blown into your mouth is probably not a good thing.

Awhile back a guy on totally wicked's forum posted that a battery (I think a rcr123) blew up in his BB mod and blew out 2 of his teeth and broke his jaw! I'm wondering if this is for real or not. My dad is an RC flyer and they put their batteries through way more than we do and he thinks that's BS. Any thoughts?

Madvapes is a good guy. He's been selling the DSE905 for an amazing $39.99. I noticed they are out of stock so me spreading the word must have worked! Anyway, I'm going to order a 4 pack of those things for friends and family. I'll bet you money that those batteries will last more than 5 charges. Thanks for the find!

Has anybody tried any of the high voltage atty? I've been vaping it 7.4v and it's smoking attys after a few days. Just curious if it's worth buying some.

OK, this is totally off topic, but have you guys seen the trailer for the A-Team movie? It looks really good. Rampage Jackson in the Mr. T role! Man, I use to love that show!

Oh, and if it sets it off, just claim you had a bad burrito! Check this out: fart sets off smoke detector

I vape on airplanes all the time. In the bathroom and even in my seat. I usually book night flights and red-eyes so I can stealth vape without getting up. But this started me thinking about bathroom smoke detectors. If they are ionization type, then they detect particles in smoke which vapor would not trigger. If they are optical type, it's highly unlikely that they would be triggered by vapor either. JAMCO is one of the top manufactures of airline lavatory detectors and they use a combination of ionization detectors and heat sensors. So it's very unlikely that vapor would ever set one off. I just tried using my 7V unit vaping directly into an ionization smoke detector with no result. Smoke and vapor are two different things. It's the difference between steam and smoke basically. I wouldn't vape directly into the smoke detector but you can rest assured that you will not set the thing off vaping.

I've been poking around with HV units for awhile and still haven't found the holy grail. But I can tell you what I've found out. I have a Xhaler (check out my video review) and have enjoyed using it. It can use 3.0V bats or 3.7V bats. I've tried them both and 3.7V is way too much. It burns the juice and it tastes terrible! I don't notice much difference between 5v and 6v. I've heard it said the 5v is the sweet spot and I wouldn't doubt that. The eastmall Indulgence looks pretty nice and will run at 3.7 or 6. I got a DSE905 that with a slight mod can run 2 3.0v batts. I haven't done the mod yet so I can't say how good it is. The DSE905 is very small, though. Much smaller than the Vp units or the Xhaler. I was looking at the chuck, too. It can run 3.7 or 6. I think for what you are looking for, I would get a DSE905 and 2 RCR123 3.0v batteries. Assuming you are a little bit handy, you can mod it pretty easy. It's much smaller and is pretty cheap. In hunting around I've found them for like $55-60. You might want to check out these guys. They have a cool looking 3.7/6v unit but, alas, it is out of stock.

Between those 2, I would go with the screwdriver or the DSE905 (same thing). They run 900mah batteries where the Spade is 360mah. Basically last almost 3 times as long. I take my screwdriver out on the town a lot. Just carry an extra battery. You can pick them up for around $60 if you do a little shopping. It's smaller and a little cheaper than the VP2 but I'm still a huge VP2 fan!

This is a nice, positive article. I hope we can make vaping the "celeb" thing to do! Here's the link

Roger that, Chris. I wasn't going to say anything but I have a bunch of cartomizers and they seem to be filled with a type of polyester batting. I don't think fiberglass wool would hold fluid very well.

The VP2 is my main PV! That bad boy just last forever! I've taken out at gigs and everything. The battery case is great because you can fit an extra battery or two and a small bottle of juice. Just pop it in your pocket and your ready to go!

I would imagine most of the stuff you get is going to come out of China. I don't think that means it's bad but I can't say for sure. There are a couple of guys I know I can trust and will give you straight answers. That is Jeff at wordupecig and Arno at awesomevapor. You can call Jeff at the number on the web site and talk to him directly. He or Arno could probably help you out even more than we could. Give them a call!

Cape Town: The first medical study made in South Africa suggests E-cigarettes to be the best smoking recession product exists today. Out of 349 participants took part in the study, a staggering amount of 45% have stopped smoking in the time frame of 8 weeks with the E-Cigarettes. Online PR News – 01-February-2010 – Local medicals in Cape Town, South Africa, led by Dr. Clifford Hulley, have supplied 349 attendees with an Electronic CIgarette for the period of 2 months. Purpose of the study was to determine if E-cigarette is an efficient aid for smokers to quit smoking, and to learn whether the smoking of an E-cigarette improves the general health condition of the user by his feelings. The E-cigarettes that was used in the study was of s kind we can’t expose here, with normal amount of nicotine. Electronic cigarette is a battery powered device that looks like a traditional cigarette, and gives it’s user a smoke like vapor when puffed. That vapor contains Nicotine but doesn’t contain the harmful carcinogen ingredients of the traditional cigarette like tar and many other toxins. All participating doctors have agreed publicly that e-cigarettes are a significantly less dangerous alternative to traditional cigarette smoking, and could act as a substance to overcome all the physical and psychological challenges “whole ceremony”The study showed that: 6% of participants stopped within up to 14 days. 39% of participants have stopped smoking within next 6 weeks. A total of 45% have stopped smoking totally within 8 weeks period with the aid of Electronic cigarette. 54% of all patients reported higher levels of general feeling and appearance. Question: What was the main factor made stop smoking so hard? Answer: 49% -cravings to Nicotine. 24% - The smoking habit and the “game” around smoking. 27% - both the cravings and the “whole ceremony” Dr Kishore Deva who also took part in the study is explaining the health benefit of the E-cigarette: “The nicotine, present in E-cigarettes, is not responsible for the health risks that tobacco cigarettes hold” Dr. Clifford Hulley, one of the participating medical professionals in the survey, states that "an e-cigarette is the most effective treatment method on the market for quitting tobacco smoking". In a former study, made by Dr. Murray Laugeson, head of research in the New Zealand FDA, was found that: “Electronic cigarettes are very safe relative to cigarettes, and also safe in absolute terms on all measurements. Each puff from an E-cigarette contains very small amounts of Nicotine and propylene glycol; both are well known molecules totally safe when inhaled. The amount of Nicotine releases in every puff is equal to 1/3 of the amount a classic average cigarette. Dr. Matt Salmon, Head of the Electronic Cigarette Association (Eca) in the USA, is saying: “the risk of illness and death from smoking related diseases is 99% smaller when smoking E-cigarette, then when smoking traditional tobacco cigarette. Tobacco cigarette smoking is responsible to over than 400,000 death cases a year, only in the U.S, more than car accidents, drugs, Aids, fires homicides and suicides all together. Even if it was 50% safer – it could of saved around 200,000 Americans lives every year, now imagine the truth – it is 99% safer! It can save more than 390,000 people every year – Amazing fact isn’t it? Dr Clifford Hulley, one of the participating medical professionals in the survey, reported that "an e-cigarette is the most effective treatment method on the market for quitting tobacco smoking".

Every pay day, I order a 2-3 atomizers and some juice. That's usually less than $50 and saves me from ever being without. I've just found that's an easy way to remember getting my orders in.

You are going to love the eGo! Very classy unit! dietsmokes has the vp-pt and they are good buddies with the vt guys so it's cool if you wondered.
-
I forgot the eGo. I have one and LOVE it! It is super classy looking, has great battery life, and is very cool. If you want something for on the go, eGo or Janty Stick.
-
Here's my 2 picks: 1. VP-PT and get it with a 510 adapter 2. VP2 and get it with a 510 adapter If you are at the computer mostly, the VP-PT is the #1 choice. You will love it! For on the go, it's the VP2. It has 3 times the battery life of a standard 510 and just rocks!

Suggestions For Alternative To Pg For Th
jmhester replied to BigXor's topic in DIY e Liquid Discussion
I'm not a big TH fan but acidity seems to help. Johnson Creek, I believe, adds lemon juice. You might try adding a little lemon juice or oil and see if that helps. I wouldn't think you would need much. Why not just a couple of drops of Vodka?
