  1. I'm just curious as why some of you started vaping and gave up analogs. I'll start with my quick story. I had a couple of cheap PVs back in November. Now I got good ones thanks to vapor talk! The wife went in the hospital for surgery and went down to the smoking area as usual. I started looking around and all I could think was how trashy these people looked. I'm not being judgemental but it just hit me how dumb we all were standing in a hospital killing ourselves. Watching all the doctors walk by, I was embarrased to even be there. I went home, picked up my 801 copy and never looked back. How about you guys?
  2. My wife still smokes analogs which makes it kind of rough. When I do light up an analog it taste terrible! I hate the taste of them. However, I love the smell of them and it makes me want one. I think that's because my dad smoked and it's a childhood smell memory. I can't wait to get my wife off those things!
  3. I've been meaning to post this for awhile. I have a Janty Stick and a few of the Kissbox classic atty that came with it and some extras a bought. I also have a 901 and the kissbox attys will not work with the 901 batteries. The 510 adapter that works on the Stick will not work with the 901 either. They simply will not draw. Is there something different about the attys for a kissbox? What's the difference between a 2 hole and 4 hole atomizer? Why do the 901 atty work with the stick but not the other way around?
  4. Even though I've been cussing the Janty Stick alot in the forum, I really do love mine. I have 2 and they are the ones I use all the time. I took it to the casino and vaped all night on 1 battery. The case it comes with is pure genius. It's a leather case that clips on your belt or pocket and has 2 elastic pockets on either site. I put an extra battery in one and a 3ml bottle of juice in the other. Just pick up the compact little kit and your good to go. I did order a VP2 which I hope will come in soon. I have a feeling the Stick won't last forever and I figure I could pass the VP2 down to my grandkids. The Stick is plastic and feels like it's good for a year or so. But for compact design and ease of carrying, the Janty Stick is the best!
  5. The company I work for is in Anchorage, AK. Luckily, I live in Tampa! But when I was up there on business, they had a smoking room that was across the street from the main building. It didn't seem to be heated, though. I can't imagine what that must be like in the winter in Alaska!
  6. I got my adapter from Jantyusa.com. I don't think Parked has them yet. There is a video review I did of it in the video reviews section. It works great and really looks good. The weird thing is that it won't trigger my 801 auto batteries. I'm not sure why that is but it does work great on the Janty Stick.
  7. Back in November of last year, around Thanksgiving, I ordered and received an e-cig from www.e-cig.com. Not expecting much I receive what I now know is an 801 pen style in beautiful white and brown complete with charger and a bunch of carts. The vape was a bit of a disappointment but I didn't know anything back then. Anyway, the single atomizer that came with the package is still working! It's never been cleaned or anything and the sucker still vapes! I have it in a Janty Stick right now and it's working like a charm! I'll keep you all posted as to when or if it ever dies. Amazing! I order a coupe of more atomizers from them a few months ago and unfortunately, they changed them and they don't seem to fit anything. Too bad.
  8. I was at my doctor's office awhile back and was showing him my e-cig which he heartily endorsed. Obviously, he was pleased I had stop smoking. His only reservation was that nicotine was linked to pancreatic cancer and that made me a little nervouse. I did a little research and found this on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobacco-specific_nitrosamines Apparently, it's not the nicotine itself that causes the cancer but the compounds formed when the tobacco is cured and processed. Obviously, our juice doesn't come from these sources so it's a pretty good bet that we are OK on this issue. Just thought I would share this in case others have heard about this warning.
  9. This year Gwavaween in on Saturday Oct. 31! Wahoo! Here's a like to their web site: http://www.cc-events.org/gw/default.asp We will be playing at Market on 7th (http://www.myspace.com/marketon7th) starting at 10:00 PM and going until we get kicked off the stage or fall asleep, which ever comes first! Here's a like to our web site: http://www.systematicchaos.us/ If you've never been to Gwavaween, it is something you will never forgot! Wild! If you guys can make it, that would be really cool!
  10. Hey, Krack. We are playing at Quaker Steak and Lube in Clearwater Sunday 3:00 to 7:00. Then it's back to Market on 7th in Ybor next Wednesday from 8:00-11:00. And we scored a gig in Ybor on Gwavaween! You have to come down for that! I'll hit you up when we get the details.
  11. It depends on which model of PV you have. The main 3 are 510, 901, and 801. I think there is a thread in here somewhere that explains which is what but here's a link, too: http://www.e-cig.org/category/types-of-electronic-cigarettes/ If you know which one you have, post it back and we'll get you to the right place. In the meantime, here's some places I like to shop: http://www.awesomevapor.com , http://www.dietsmokes.com , http://www.vaporkings.com I've had good luck with these guys. dietsmokes is the only one that seems to have the 510 passthrough (it's a Dura-C passthrough and is the same thing).
  12. I did notice that the kissbox (stick) attys don't work with my 801 batteries. After taking a look, it seems the kissbox atty has 2 holes. I don't see any holes in the 801 atty. I've heard you guys talk about 2 hole, 4 hole, etc. What is the diffence? Could that be the issue with the VP2? Oh, the 801 attys work just fine in the stick.
  13. Those things look pretty serious. I wanted to know if it was worth the extra cash and how reliable it might be. Thanks!
  14. I did notice something else, too. You seem to attract a lot of noobs which is awesome. That says your site is friendly to people just getting started. Nothing could be better than a place for people to learn about vaping in an atmosphere that is simple, friendly, and informative. Good work on that. I found ECF somewhat overwhelming which put me off when I was a noob. Know what I mean? You guys never give the RTFM response to anybody either. That's way cool!
  15. Happy 9 month birthday! This site is much more friendly and easier to use than "the other one". Plus you guys are funny. But I only really post so I can check my no smoking counter! LOL!
  16. I got about the same gear as the rest of you guys: Janty Stick, Dura-C (510), and a 901. I like the Stick because of the built in passthrough and the size but by far the 510 hits harder. The Stick is a little flakey and requires some tinkering. I just ordered a V2 and can't wait! Finally, something well built that isn't from China! Here's a question: The puresmoke passthroughs that run at 5v, wouldn't that shorten the life of your atty?
  17. Have you guys had experience with the VP2? It looks to be built like a tank.
  18. These little things look great on paper but the quality control must be horrible! Here's my experience so far: I bought one from Janty USA. It had a bad switch (guessing) and would only work about half the time I pressed the button. I sent it back and actually got one that works. Knowing they were flakey, I bought a second from Parker at dietsmokes.com. When I got it, the atomizer wouldn't engage in the body so it didn't work at all. Sent it back and he sent me another one. I got it and had to screw the atomizer in really tight to get it to work. Only certain atomizers will even work in the thing. Now this new one has a bad switch and only works about half the time. My recommendation is to not waste your money on these things. From my experience you have about a 1 in 4 chance of getting one that functions properly. Even then, it will probably break within the first month or so. Admittedly, both Janty and Parker have been great about replacing bad ones, but who wants to go through that hassle? So I ordered a V2. Has anybody else had similar experiences with these things?
  19. I have to say it was a cool experience. The bum didn't react to my vaping oddly enough. He just walked away quickly. I hate to say it but I'm a pretty scary looking guy (5'10" 225, MMA fighter) so they don't usually hang around. Plus, I figured I couldn't talk him in to switching over to an e-smoke! LOL!
  20. Honestly, I don't know. Is there any way to tell from how it looks?
  21. My first PV was a Smoke 51 from the mall. One of the batteries died but I have a bunch of cartomizers left over. Does anybody know what type of battery is compatible with the Smoke 51?
  22. I play in a band on the side and we were down playing in Ybor City (kind of like Bourbon Street). There are lots of bums down there wandering around and pan handling. I was standing in the parking lot talking to my drummer and vaping on my Janty Stick. This bum comes up and ask for a cigarette. We both looked at him and said we didn't smoke. That felt so cool! I think that's the first time I ever said I didn't smoke in like 40 years! What a wonderful feeling! Anybody else had an experience like that?
  23. I haven't seen a single vapor yet and we go out alot. I even play in a band in lots of clubs. The bar owners are usually super interested when I show them my Janty Stick. I tell them all that they need to put up a sign saying Vapers welcome. Tampa has a smoking ban and that would bring in others of our kind. Maybe we need to start local chapters for us vapers to get together. Any ideas?
  24. Fenwick, that's how I feel now. It certainly doesn't help that my wife still smoke analog...in the house, no less! The few times I've broken down and had an analog, they tasted so nasty! A vape just tastes "cleaner". I did buy the wife a cute, pink 901 with case from Vapor Kings. Now I just have to convince her that she needs to learn to use it and stop the analogs all together. Her weekly habit costs me as much as a nice Dura C set! Damn!
  25. I'm pretty much on total vaping after having been a 1 1/2 pack a day smoker. Unfortunately, my wife still smokes analogs. The smell just kills me! I want one so bad when I smell one. Does anybody make juice that smells like an analog? It's cool not to smell like smoke all the time but damn, I miss the smell of an analog!
