A comparison of the various 801 atomizers available. Includes: standard 801, Vapor King, Janty Classic, and the low bridge model from awesomevapor.com

I picked up my low bridge attys Saturday. Man, those things rock on the VP2! Almost too much. I get this burning throat hit if they aren't just soaked with juice. I can drip 5 drops with no problem at all. I suppose they will mellow with time but I'm super happy with them. I haven't tried them on anything but the VP2 yet. They also have a brass ring similar to the Janty classic atty but the coil is slightly bigger than a standard atomizer. I hope he keeps getting these things!

I Need To Clean My Janty Stick Atty ....help?
jmhester replied to EasyE's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I've been using denture cleaner tablets with great success so far. I didn't think of using the smoker's variety. Great idea! Here's a link to my process for cleaning atomizers: http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?/topic/1512-another-way-to-clean-your-atomizer -
I wish I could demo mine for him but he lives in another city. Unfortunatly, he is about as computer challenged as you can get so it's up to me. Thanks for the input. I have a Dura C and I think the 510 is a better choice for him. I was concerned about the battery life but knowing him, he will be buying new batteries in no time!

I want to buy my dad a PV. He is 72 and been smoking since he was 15. Like me, he has tried everything to quit and after talking to him about PVs, he wants to give it a go. He is a gadget nut like me and is really knowledgable about batteries since he's into RC planes. I decided I should go ahead and buy him a PV and maybe he'll live a little longer and healthier. I was thinking of an 801 to get him started now I'm open to suggestions. From talking to him about it, it sounds like he would prefer one that looks and acts more like an analog. I was thinking an automatic battery to get him started but I can't seem to find any suppliers that have 801 automatics in stock. Any suggestions on a good kit for him?

Welcome, man! I got started the same way you did. Burned by the SE folks and then found Chris and Shawn on youtube. Thank God! You are going to love the VP model! Good you got some extra atomizers from Arno. Mine have been holding up pretty good but they can die in a second. And once you try dripping, you will never go back to analogs! Congrats on becoming a vaper!

I didn't think about the resistance of the coil. I=E/R so the lower the resistance of the atomizer coil, the more current and more vapor. With the kissbox attys, they fit on an 801 battery but they won't draw. Strange.

Guys, I was wondering if the dyslexic ad might be in bad taste. I'm not dyslexic nor are any of my family but you know how funny people are about that stuff. Heck, Obama said his bowling was like special olympics and I thought they were going to crucify the guy! Anyway, I think it's funny but I thought I would bring it up just in case.

I thought I would start this thread to discuss atomizers. I'm a little confused and maybe there are folks here that can clear things up. For example, I have kissbox atty that came with the Janty Stick and they are great atomizers. However, they won't work with most of my 801 batteries. What gives? And 4 hole vs 2 hole atty. Which is better and who makes 4 vs 2 hole? And another thing. We always talk about how a unit generates so much vapor, etc. Assuming most of them are running at 3.7 volts and the contact between the atty and the unit is good, shouldn't they all vape the same? Isn't it really the atomizer that is responsible for the vapor production? For example: wouldn't a VP1 and Janty Stick produce the same amount of vapor given the voltage and current are the same? I think the atomizer is really what accounts for vapor production, throat hit, etc. Thoughts?

I would be up for a classified section. I have some 510 stuff I never use that I would like to ditch.

I've timed mine, too. I only get about 5 hours constant vape time and it's taking me 5 hours to recharge the battery. Sounds like something is not right.

You can always try my denture cleaner method. It works well for me: http://www.vaportalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?/topic/1512-another-way-to-clean-your-atomizer/

Man, that's adventerous! Kung Pow chicken! Totally Wicked has roast chicken flavor. GROSS!

It's cool that your cat loves the vapor. Mine don't seem to even notice. They do get in my lap much more now that I quit the analogs. I didn't even think about it until you mentioned it. I bet they prefer the lack of smell. We've always been cat people. I have one that's so smart it's scary, one that's a brat, and one that is dumb as can be. But I love all my "babies"!

It did make me wonder if the VP2 was maybe burning up the atty but that didn't make scientific sense to me. Just a fluke I would guess.
-
I just ordered 5 low bridge atty from Arno. As soon as they come in, I'll do a video review against a standard atty.
-
I ordered the 5 pack of 801 atomizers from Totally Wicked when I picked up some of their e-liquid. They look so cool in silver with the little devil head on them. Perfect for a VP2! Popped a fresh one in my new VP2 and vaped for about a week when this morning it just died. No sizzle, no vape. Dead as a doornail (whatever that means). Has anybody else had that experience? They are cheap but if they don't last more than a week, that's getting pretty expensive. I'm trying my denture cleaner treatment on it right now. We'll see if it comes back, but I really doubt it will.
-
Isn't that going to zap your atty? I would think it would shorten the lifespan for sure.
-
Unflavored juice would just be straight PG or VG, wouldn't it? You do lose some flavor when you cut. For example, I cut Arno's 36mg Marlboro 50/50 with VG to yeild about 18mg juice. But I add about 20 drops per 10ml of Johnson Creek Original 16mg. That gives it back some of the flavor and adds a hint of vanilla. Sometimes I'll add some 16 or 24mg 555 since it's a nutty flavor. You really have to experiment to find what you like. Think of it more like cooking than science.

Guys, you need to print up some bumper stickers and cards. You got the best site on the web but it would be nice for us to advertise for you. You can get some cards printed up cheap and pass them out to folks. Heck, I would be willing to pay a little to get a VaporTalk.com bumper sticker. What do you think?
-
I'm with you all the way on this one. All the juice tastes sweet to me, too. I've searched high and low but no luck finding one that doesn't taste that way. VG is very sweet when mixed with nic, even more so that PG. You might want to try 555 or Hilton. They not as sweet as most. Lots of people swear by Johnson Creek Original but it's too strong a flavor for me personally. I like to mix it with other stuff. I guess it's like smokingman said, you have to switch your expectations around a bit. Unlike most of these guys, my taste buds and sense of smell haven't come back. Maybe it's my age or that my wife still smoke analogs.

The batteries I got with my VP2 are no name as far as I can tell. One was bad right out of the box. It's no big deal and Mary said she would ship me out another one. I'm going to try Batteries USA today and see if they have a 14500. I'll keep you guys posted. BTW - the VP2 is absolutely awesome! I'm getting like 5 hours of vaping off a charge!
-
What is the physical difference between the low bridge and high bridge atomizers? What's supposedly the advantage of one over the other?
-
Yeah, it's a learning curve but it's worth it. I bought a Smoke 51 at the mall back in November of last year and it sucked so bad I gave up. Thank God I found vaportalk.com and started again. Once you get the right gear, it's easy. If I had it to do over, I would just buy a Janty Stick and be done with it.
-
If I could only have one PV, it would be the Janty Stick. With the built-in passthrough, small size, and, so far, reliability, I think it's the best one out there. Don't get me wrong, I love the VP2 because, honestly, it looks super cool! But between the 2 I would take my Janty Stick anyday. I would recommend it to anybody as long as you don't mind sending a few back to get a good one!
