dlynne, we are all so proud of you! Thank you for this wonderful post! I don't think we say enough about how VT really changed our lives and may very well have saved our lives. I honestly don't think I would have been successful at vaping if it had not been for the wonderful people on this forum. Good luck and happy holidays to everyone at VT!

I don't know but after making the mistake of watching "Jersey Shore", I think we may deserve God's wrath! :P

I saw that awhile back and even posted some ideas on adding vitamins, etc. to juice. Has anybody tried their high voltage juice yet?

Non-Smoker Was Concerned About Exhaled Nicotine
jmhester replied to StringDancer's topic in General Vaping Discussion
And drinking Vodka, eating garlic, or any nightshade plant... I would hate to be alergic to nicotine! Talk about screwed! I would say that the chances of being sensitive to PG would be much more likely that alergic to nicotine. There is indeed a known alergy to nicotine but as far as I can tell, it's mostly from folks using patches and gum. Symptoms include headaches, nausia, the squirts. Mostly digestive issues. And it's very, very rare. It's strange how people associate nicotine with the bad stuff in cigarettes. Most likely this lady was sensitive to cigarette smoke and just jumped to the conclusion that it was the nicotine in the smoke that bothered her. But, alas, no amount of reassurance on your part would make any difference. You did the right thing by just letting it go. That's the way we are going to win folks over in my opinion. -
Thanks to the good old FDA, the maximum power that you can buy in the USA is 10mw. Thanks again to the jerks at the FDA. It looks like in Europe you can buy like 500mw continuous lasers. However, I tried to order one from dealextreme.com and they said no way would they ship to the USA. It would probably get confiscated anyway. There is a cavate to this story, though. You can still buy laser diodes in some pretty serious wattages. So if you are inclined to "roll your own", more power to you (or to the laser). There is also another exception to the rule that might help with your laser-heated vape idea. As long as the laser is not external such as a DVD writer, etc. you can go as high as you wish. How cool would a laser powered PV be?

Did you guys see the video that Green did for an entry? Mic swore it was random but I would have had to give it to the guy for this: Greens Entry Video

Stubear! Thanks a million for letting me know! I didn't get an email from them or anything so I'm glad you let me know. I sent Mic an email. They look pretty cool and I promise to do a video review as soon as I get it. Thanks again to you guys for the congrats!

Man, that is the best story I've heard in forever! I don't know if this is PC but God has blessed you and I can't be happier for you! I promise this is a step in a new beginning for you. Just getting off the analogs will make such a huge difference in your life. Not only in your health but your wallet too! Please let us know if there is anything we can do. Don't forget that most of these vendors are here you help you and most don't mind one bit if you call with questions (Arno at awesomevapor and Jeff at Wordup come to mind). Thank you so much for sharing this story with us. Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family!

Scientists Crack 'entire Genetic Code' Of Cancer
jmhester replied to ddavelarsen's topic in Vaping Health & Safety
WOW! Great article! My dad said he has read where smoking changes your DNA. I thought he misunderstood but this explains it. I hope that for us ex-smokers that they are right about those mutated cells being replaced over time. -
It's truly amazing! My 72 year old dad says he has more energy than he has had in years. I started vaping when my amateur MMA career started taking off and after only 2 weeks I could work out so much longer than before that I was shocked! Even the young guys were stunned when I didn't "gas" after 3 rounds. Believe me, it only gets better! Hey, Keenan, get out that bowflex and see what you can do by summer. It's a good challenge for ya!

I just looked at my banner and realized that giving up analogs just paid for the 46" plasma TV I bought for Christmas! I guess technically with juice and buying cool toys, I've spent some of the money, but it's a really good feeling to see the savings translated into something real. If I could get the wife off analogs, maybe we could take a vacation, too! Has anybody else saved up and bought something with the money you saved? I heard you should put the smoke money in a jar and save it for a vacation or something. Has anybody done that?

Moobie, that absolutely ROCKED! Keep up the great work!

Nicotine In Vaping Compared To Analogs
jmhester replied to jmhester's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I'm glad you mentioned the MAOI's because I was unaware of that factor. However, when I quit analogs (everytime that is!), I got so depressed it was terrible! After researching it, that is a very common problem and has been posted here, too. I assumed it was "losing your friend" as you have posted below, but now I'm beginning to think it is the MAOI factor. As for the lose of identity, I think the advantage we have as vapors is that new identity we create. And learning a new skill, buying cool stuff, etc. that makes it so easy to put down the analogs. Good posts, Travis798! Knowledge is power! -
I would definitely call Jeff at wordup. His number is on his site. Also, call Arno at awesomevapor.

Nicotine In Vaping Compared To Analogs
jmhester replied to jmhester's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I put this together from a bunch of other sites. The one that was the most scientific was the Ruyan test which had one calculation coming out to about 14%. Another finding in the test showed that a single "vape" contained 10% of the nicotine from a single puff on a Marlboro. When you factor in the concentration of the juice, that came out to about 40% of the nicotine. I have heard absorbtion rates of up to 80% but based on the only known medical research, I would guess it's much lower. What was weird is that a long vape didn't seem to make much difference in the nicotine absorbed vs a short vape. Probably has something to do with the half life of the nicotine or something. -
Probably 3 months or more! I wish I could figure out how to give it a smell. For some reason, I really miss that.

The subject of what vaping is equivalant to in analog smoking is a subject we have been debating about forever it seems. In some ways it's an unfair comparison since vaping is simply a nicotine inhaling process vs the burning process of an analog. It's actually 2 totally different ways of ingesting nicotine. But for the sake of reference and curiosity (mine included), I really sat down and tried to simplify things for myself and my fellow vapors. Here's what I came up with: I use to smoke Marlboro Lights which contain .8mg of nicotine. To simplify the calculation, let's just go with 1mg per cigarette. The nicotine advertised for analogs is the actual nicotine absorbed by the body vs our nicotine being a conncentration per ml in the bottle. So when you smoke a Marlboro you actually absorb 1mg of nicotine. 1 Marlboro = 1mg nicotine 1ml of 36mg juice yeilds 36mg of nicotine. But, you can only absorb so much. Research puts the vaping absorbtion amount as little as 10% and as high as 40%. So let's go overboard and say 30% is the best you can do (maybe a VP-PT with a fresh LB atty). By calculation: 1ml of 36mg juice X .30 = 10mg of nicotine. 1ml of 36mg juice = 10 Marlboro So if you vape 2ml of 36mg juice, you are a pack a day "vaper"! For reference, I calculate some other juice levels so you can see what you are vaping: 1ml of 11mg juice = about 3 Marlboro 1ml of 16mg juice = about 5 Marlboro 1ml of 18mg juice = about 5 Marlboro 1ml of 24mg juice = about 7 Marlboro

Been working on a Marlboro Red recipe for awhile and I think I have it down: 22 drops of Awesome Vapor Marlbone 36mg 10 drops of Johnson Creek Tennessee Cured 24mg 30 drops of Wilton's Glycerine A very small pinch of unsweetened cocoa powder (maybe 5 grains) Yeilds 3ml of 16.2mg juice The cocoa powder gives it a smoother flavor but may be omitted. Be sure to shake well before vaping. Enjoy!

VT juice is awesome! But if you want variety out the wazoo, then Wordup Tell Jeff I sent you!

So that's what happened to my cats! They got into my 'roid stash! :P
-
I noticed something strange with my kitties. Since I quit analogs, they want to curl up in my lap all the time. I think the smell of cigarettes offended them!
-
Glad you quit analogs! I think the tough part is to "stay quit". I quit for 2 years once and just fell back in. I firmly believe that vaping will make me "stay quit" for good. And I believe it will do the same for you! My wife is going to a place for a couple of days that she will be unable to smoke analogs. I sent her with 4 801s ready to go. I'm hoping this will be her turning point and she won't go back to analogs!

Looking For A Supplier That Ships To Canada
jmhester replied to nemesis's topic in General Vaping Discussion
This is absolutely insane! It's like order illegal drugs just to get a package of harmless atomizers to Canada! Jeff at Wordup is THE MAN! If he can't get it there, nobody can! Does anybody know the actual laws concerning e-smokes in Canada? I've been googling and can't seem to find anything specific. -
Alucard, congrats! The 510 is a great pick and you should have fun with it for sure. Though I don't have a Spade, I have 2 of the VP units and they are outstanding in quality and function. I would recommend a Spade or VP2 once you've vaped for a few weeks. I guess the big question is: how are you doing on getting off the analogs? Keep us posted!
