  1. I think that's pretty much how most people start off. They try to find a flavor that matches the kind of cigarettes they smoked. I was trying to find a good menthol flavor, but they all felt like I was smoking vicks or something. The thing is that we are inhaling a water vapor instead of smoke, so you'll never get that exact taste. It's just so much cleaner tasting. Once you realize that is when you start exploring other flavors. The biggest problem with that is that there are way too many flavors to try and it gets addicting lol.
  2. I agree with you rattlehead. If they could somehow utilize the space used for the two extra cartridges to hold an extra battery or something. I direct drip, so I have no use for those spots. I don't know what electronic components are inside, but I heard there is stuff there so they can't make those holes deeper.
  3. I boil my attys regularly as a cleaning method. I do it about once a month depending on how fast my attys get clogged. For me, an atty will go anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks before I need to boil it.
  4. I'm not too heavy of a vaper, so I go through about a bottle every 2 weeks.
  5. Wow, it does seem like just yesterday when you announced the baby. That's great news though...congratulations! I'm gonna have to go with St. Patrick's day on my guess, March 17.
  6. Hi vapehottie. Everyone's bodies are different, so everyone experiences the changes differently. Some people will notice their senses coming back sooner than others. I know someone on the forum took a few months and I think someone's still hasn't come back. I personally have not noticed a significant difference in my taste buds and I haven't smoked for almost 6 months now. Then again, I didn't smoke that much to begin with. Good thing food has always tasted good to me lol. As for your flooded atty, remove the cartridge and the battery. Place a paper towel on the cartridge-side of the atty and blow threw the thread-side. You'll notice all the juice going on the paper towel. Hope this helps.
  7. Nice. I'll have to check that out. Thanks.
  8. Interesting. What blue foam are you using and where do you get it from?
  9. You're welcome. Really glad I could help and things are working better for you now.
  10. That sucks that your boss gave you hell about it. Hopefully they let you off the hook once you proved to them that it wasn't you're fault. I don't know the differences between commercial and residential fire alarms, but I have not set off the fire alarms at my apartment. I think there's two in mine. The one in my bedroom I practically vape right underneath it and it's fine.
  11. I'm not exactly sure why you would be getting an easier draw. How long have you been using the same cartridge/mouthpiece? I find that sometimes if I'm using one for too long, it will wear out and become loose. I think extra air might possibly be coming in through where the atty and cartridge connect. I like to switch to a new mouthpiece every week or so.
  12. I think that's weird that the attys suddenly have an easier draw now. Usually, over time the draw gets harder. I'm not sure what's causing this. What model do you have? After boiling the attys, you will need to "prime" the atty with several drops making sure you hit the bridge. New attys come shipped with "primer" juice already on the atty to prevent it from overheating. Boiling removes this primer juice. So the first time you try using the attys after boiling, the bridge will soak up a lot of the juice and prevent it from reaching the heating coil.
  13. That's great news! Glad it's working out for you.
  14. The reason this is happening is because when you buy new atomizers, they come pre-soaked with juice. You should notice when you open them from the packaging, the atomizers are a little wet. When you boil the attys, this "primer" juice gets cleaned off as well. The fix that I've found is to "prime" the atty with several drops of juice. I've added as much as 6-8. Make sure to hit the bridge because most of the juice will get absorbed there, keeping it from reaching the heating coil. That's why you're experiencing the burnt taste faster than before. When you try vaping it, add more drops as soon as you taste the burnt taste again. After a couple times, the bridge should be fully primed and it should go back to normal.
  15. Awesome. You're welcome...let me know how it works out for you. =)
  16. Before putting the attys in the water, I put the stove on high and let the water come to a boil. Then I bring the heat down to medium. Actually, maybe a little more than medium. Just high enough to where the water is just barely bubbling (does that make sense? lol). Then that's when I put the attys in and let them sit there for 10 minutes with the heat at that setting. I have a metal strainer to hold the attys so they don't touch the bottom of the pot. You can use anything that will work, that's just what I have on hand. Not sure if it'll help, but I've attached a photo.
  17. congrats on being smokefree for 1 week!! As for your multi-battery charger for the 510, check this out: http://heaven-gifts.com/index.php?gOo=goods_details.dwt&goodsid=383&productname= Charges 10 batteries! I don't have one so I can't rate it. I just came across it while I was browsing their website. It's a china supplier so shipping is a little expensive but not too bad. I'm not sure if there's an US suppliers that sell multi battery chargers. Maybe someone else knows? Edit: looks like I took forever writing my post. Mark already provided a link.
  18. Once I'm done boiling them and drying them, I just set them aside until I need a new atty. That's when I do the testing. I haven't run into a bad one yet.
  19. Interesting. I'm pretty sure the PTB mod is what's keeping it from leaking. I've been meaning to try that mod out. Maybe one day.
  20. My thoughts exactly. But my pile seems to be growing, just like my stash of juice. It's almost better to just throw them away and get fresh new ones.
  21. No prob. I think letting them sit in boiling water for a bit might be better since it gives it more time to dissolve the gunk. I get anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks out of an atty before I have to boil it, but like I said it makes it like new again and I get to use it for another 1 to 4 weeks. I don't think I've had an atty completely die out on me yet, but I do have a couple that I don't use anymore because they don't perform as well as the others. I don't know what I'm going to do to them yet, I'd hate to throw them away lol.
  22. Interesting. How do you keep it from leaking? There have been a couple of times when I'd leave my spade on my desk standing on its end and the juice would leak out if I forget about it. I wonder if I just had too much juice in there. hhmmm...
