The Easiet Way To Fight The Ban
jacke replied to Christopher's topic in Vaping Legislation & Regulation News
Will it help for those of us who do not live in California to send an email? And if there is a ban what about selling on the internet? Will that be effected also? -
I have a 510 and put my battery in the charger to recharge. Now that it is done charging I can not get the battery to unscreww from the charger. It just keeps turning around in the charger. It feels like maybe the part inside that it is screwed into keeps turning with the battery. Is there a way to open charger to see if parts inside came loose? Now I have no way to recharge except with my PCC. Help

Just tried Dulcis juice. Great stuff love it. Another question where can you buy empty cartridgesfor the 510?

I ordered some new batteries for my 510 (found out they don't work to good after you accidently drop them in soapy water}and I am wondering if you really have to charge them for 8 hours use them for 20 minutes and then charge for another hour. That was the instructions with the kit. Dose anyone know if that amount of time is really necessary?

I have noticed that a lot of the positive articles about ecigs focus on them as an aid to quitting. So are most of you using ecigs to quit analog cigarettes and then also quit ecigs? I took up the ecig after I quit smoking as an alternative to starting again. After 7 months I hit a wall and for the next 3 months thought about smoking again all the time and I was perpetually PO'd that I gave up something I enjoyed. Not to mention the rediculous amount of coffee I was drinking. My Dr. suggested using the patch or gum. I thought if I am going to put nicotine back into my system I am going to do it in a way I enjoy. I have no plan to quit using ecigs. I think I was tied to the psychological enjoyment and habit as much as the physical nicotine craving. So for now I will continue to vape.

Oregon A.G. bans sale of electronic 'cigarettes' 10:54 AM PDT on Thursday, July 30, 2009 By DAVID KROUGH, kgw.com Staff SALEM, Ore. -- The Oregon Department of Justice on Thursday banned the sale of “electronic cigarettes” at two travel store chains in Oregon. Attorney General John Kroger’s office said it was first ban of its kind in the country to prevent people from buying what it called “potentially dangerous products” that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has yet to approve. SmokingEverywhere.com The devices are battery-powered and vaporize nicotine filters. More: E cig investigation “When products threaten the health and safety of Oregonians, we will take action,” Deputy Attorney General Mary Williams said. “If companies want to sell electronic cigarettes to consumers, they have to be able to prove they are safe.” The A.G. said FDA tests showed a wide variation in the amount of nicotine delivered by three different samples of nicotine cartridges and the presence of nitrosamines – a known carcinogen. The affected travel store chains, Pilot Travel Centers and TA Operating sell the “NJOY” brand at outlets in Oregon. The FDA had issued “Import Alerts” against NJOY and other brands of electronic cigarettes, and some had been detained by customs officials. The settlement bans the sale of electronic cigarettes in Oregon until they are approved by FDA, or until a court rules the FDA does not have the authority to regulate the devices. The settlement says electronic cigarettes may not be sold in Oregon unless there is “competent and reliable scientific evidence to support the product’s safety claims.” Sorry did not know how to send a link for this so I copied it. Watching the news tonight and saw that Oregon is the first state to ban the sale of ecigs. Oh great I just started using them and I live in Oregon. So what dose this mean? More states to follow? This is crazy.

Government agencies and politicians when will they learn? Lying, twisting the facts, secrets it just dosn't work. We have too many ways of getting information out. So it sounds like they took 1 small thing worded it to seem really bad blew it up into something big and were off and running with it. Glad to hear they are being sued but hope they don't try to get ugly on the subject of banning ecigs to show they have some power. I am glad I found Vapor Talk it has been a great source of help and information. The internet is a great PR tool for ecig users.

Propylene glycol is recognized as generally safe by the Food and Drug Administration. It is used in food coloring, and flavoring, as an additive to keep food, medicines and cosmetics moist, and in machines that simulate smoke. I read this in A Complete Guide for Beginners. So this is confusing when they say it is an ingredient in anti freeze. So what is the deal with all this? Are they lying? Twisting the info? What is the real deal?

One cart a day is VERY good. That's about oh I dunno 5-6 drops or so Maybe 8 tops. I myself use about 1ml a day at most. To be honest I don't really keep track. When you move over to liquid you tend to use quite a bit more What dose 1ml equal as far as cigarettes? Is it like 1 pack a day or less? I seem to remember reading that a cart can be refilled 5 or 6 times. How do you know when the cart should not be refilled any more? It seems like I am putting 3 dropes in cart and that last for the equivalent of 1 cigarette dose that seem right or have I refilled the cart to many times and need to toss it out?

I have been using the 510, vapor is great using the button is not my favorite thing thou. The att seems to get hot pretty fast. Has anyone else found this to be true with their 510? I assume it should be put down to cool when this happens, don't want to burn up the att.

I was web surfing today and found a review (smokeless blog.com) of an episode on The Doctors TV Show listing ecigs as #9 in the top 10 Health trends Oct. 14, 2008. The show gave ecigs a positive review. I went to the tv shows web trying to view the show but could only find a written synopsis. Its listed under Episodes / Archives page 41 but I quess you can't watch a video of the show. Did anyone happen to see this show?

Thank you everyone. I went right to Beadworks and ordered one, now I will keep my fingers crossed it is here before I leave.

I will have 2 batteries when I get the 510. Also have the Smoking Everywhere with 2 batteries that I made the mistake of buying. The SE ecig battery dose not seem to keep a charge very long, I think maybe I need to leave it charging for 3-4 hours even if the light turns green sooner.

I am a coward I would not try vaping on the plane, probably will put everything in my suitcase and check it in at the counter when I get my boarding pass. I checked the dietsmokes.com' awesomevapor.com & truesmoker.com for the PCC and did not see it. Where do I get one for the manuel 510? If there is one out with a slit that dose not have to be modified that would be great.

Forgot to ask about airport. I assume I should put the bottle of e liquid, cart & all related ecig stuff in my checked suitcase and not go through the boarding screening with it. Anyone have any experiences with this?

I am going to Vegas soon for vacation and know that I will be away from my charger for long periods of time. Any advice on covering nic fits while out for hours? I ordered some e juice from Johnson Creek (ordered Saturday still have not gotten notice that it has even been shipped) plan on getting used to using it before I leave. Dose it work well to fill extra cart ahead and carry them with you? Also ordered the 510 and am confussed as to if it can be used with a PPC. I have read that it can not be used with a PCC because it is manuel and have also read references that a PCC was used with the 510.
