SABOTEUR got a reaction from Starre LaBell in Menthol Question
Ditto what's already been said concerning the difficulty of matching the flavor of an analog. But being a longtime Newport smoker, I've recently found and have become quite impressed with the selection of various menthols offered by Halo (http://www..com/). Perhaps you can find an acceptable menthol flavor there.

SABOTEUR got a reaction from daleron in I Keep Returning To Analogs :-(
I think I was predisposed toward vaping prior to knowing anything about it. First off, I'm a gadget freak. I love anything that requires pushing or clicking a button to do something else. So ecigs had a built in appeal for me.
Secondly, I wasn't getting much satisfaction from smoking anymore. I'd continue to go through a pack a day, but it was more habit than enjoyment. When the price jumped $1 overnight, I decided to find a cheaper cigarette source. Put out some online queries and someone recommended an electronic cigarette. Purchased one and "that was all she wrote".
But I'm not you.
And you're not the people who share their vape experiences online, so it's unfair to rate what you experience against everyone else. If your goal is to quit smoking and you smoke one less cigarette than you normally would, that's PROGRESS. Before long you'll be smoking TWO less. If you toss your ecig in the trash and say, "to hell with it"...
...CONGRATULATE YOURSELF for at least giving it a try.

In all honesty, it's not necessary for your co-workers to understand. They don't even have to know you vape unless you choose to share with them. You don't need their understanding or approval to do what you feel is right for YOU. -
SABOTEUR got a reaction from Heavyrocker58 in Time To Fess Up
No question about it...I'm a nicotine addict. I've heard it said, though, that we don't get as much nicotine from vaping as we would from smoking. There's a pretty good video I ran across from an addiction counselor who states we could vape nicotine for the rest of our lives and it wouldn't harm us. That's quite a relief considering I vape continuously, just as you described.

SABOTEUR reacted to Tam in Airport Etiquette
Lol! I've heard of the "coffee method" of stealth vaping: take a hit, hold for a couple of seconds, exhale into a hot cup of coffee so it looks like the vapor is coming from that. If I absolutely need to, I'll go the bathroom route if I can't go outside.

SABOTEUR reacted to kitsune in Airport Etiquette
I go very stealth or restroom. looks like I am chewing on a pen...which is exactly what I used to do when I couldn't smoke. I have been in many airports and not had a single second glance. I agree that clouds of vapor would draw way too much attention in an airport. Most of my flavors are coffee based, I usually have coffee with me, so any residual scent can be blamed on the coffee.

SABOTEUR got a reaction from kitsune in Informal Health Survey
Just visited a thread concerning a member who's discovered vaping but has a cold. It got me wondering if people notice a decrease in viral infections since they've begun vaping.
Prior to becoming a vaper, it was "normal" for me to experience at least one cold a year. I just expected it. I'd get sick around the same time each year. After I started vaping I've experienced one cold in three years. I don't know with any certainty that I can contribute my improved health to vaping, yet it's hard to believe this is merely a coincidence...especially since there have been no other significant lifestyle changes that may have so drastically improved my health.
There have been other more obvious health improvements, but "no more colds", for me, is quite significant.
Update: Please forgive my obsessiveness, but I'm very much a stickler for articulating exactly what you intend to communicate. To do so usually requires observing things accurately too. But after posting my query it occurred to me that the reason I experience fewer viral infections may have less to do with vaping and more a consequence of no longer smoking cigarettes.

SABOTEUR got a reaction from Uma in Helping Smoker To Quit - Need Juice Advice Please
That recommendation about Halo Menthol Ice caught my attention since it's what I vape 99% of the time.
The thing is, your son...if he picks up vaping...may gravitate toward a juice that's NOTHING like what he smoked.
My recommendation is to seek out vendors who offer variety packs. (Halo is one such company.) You get an assortment of flavors at a fairly equitable price.
You might also want to attend a vape meet if you can. The one I attend (when I get the chance) solicits vendors to donate juice for vapers to sample. Nothing better than sampling and socializing with fellow vapers.

Smoking analogs cost me $12(pack) per day here. Ecigs are cheaper, healthier and endless flavors.

SABOTEUR reacted to Christopher in Are Electronic Cigarettes Safe?
I think the question is better asked, is E Liquid safe. The short answer? Nobody really knows.
The thing is, cigarettes are so bad that smoking a rolled up dirty newspaper is probably safer than smoking a cigarette. In that respect ecigs probably are better.
If nobody knows then why are suppliers selling them? Well in my opinion it’s a step in the right direction. Currently the only alternatives to nicotine on the market are patches and gums. And if your a smoker, like I was, we all know it doesn’t always work in our favor. In my case neither worked at all. It’s been a shock and surprise for ecig users to find that almost every country and government agency is trying their hardest to bury this new technology. (Though the United States and United Kingdom citizens have fought her to defend their right to vape, so far so good) After years of searching and looking for an alternative and even joking “if there is ever a safer alternative that’s one thing but for now this is all we have” bang, out comes electronic cigarettes only to be pushed aside like a stray animal. Amazing isn’t it?
So what exactly is inside E Liquid? Well the most popular manufacture in China (DK) gives the following ingredients:
1. Propylene glycol About 80%
2. Tobacco Essential Oil Less than 5%
3. Tobacco Absolute Virginia Less than 5%
4. Tobacco Absolute, Burly Less than 5%
5. Nicotine (From Tobacco Leaf) 1-3.6%
6. 2, 3, 5 Trimethylpyrazine Less than 1%
7. 2, 3 Dimethylpyrazine Less than 1%
8. 2, 5 Dimethylpyrazine Less than 1%
9. 2, Ethylpyrazine Less than 1%
The FDA tested E Liquid and found it to be unsafe however companies questioned their testing and we’re all still waiting for the results to be published not only on their findings but their form of method.
Not to long ago popular ecig vendor Totally Wicked did their own testing on Chinese E Liquid. Many vendors all purchase their liquid from the same source. The study can be found: Here
But for now it’s up to the consumer to make the decision to vape and weigh out the pros and cons.
What about the factory, is it sanitary? Well lets take a look at our friend Leaford who actually flew over to DK in China. You can see the logo in the video.

For me, I just make sure to snug it down tight and turn the needle tip slowly, I readjust if I notice it slipping and tighten a bit more. seems to work well for me.

SABOTEUR reacted to Rixter in How Long Should I Vape?
I was just sitting here vaping and patting myself on the back for my apparent success at beating cigarettes, when it occurred to me that surely, my new habit must someday be broken as well.
I've been analog free since April 8, 2012, and plan to reduce my nicotine consumption by stepping down from my current level of 18 mg, to 0 mg in 6 mg increments. Once I reach my goal of zero-nicotine (vaping for taste), what then?
I love vaping...love it more than I ever did smoking. I love the gear. I love the apparently limitless variety of flavors available. I love the cash savings over analogs. I love the whole "act" of vaping...and that's gonna be hard to quit.
If anyone here has devised a plan to use vaping as a smoking cessation tool, and not just a smoking replacement tool, I would really like to hear about it.

SABOTEUR reacted to kitsune in Why Isn't Everyone Using Dcts By Now?
glad you gave them a try, They really do work well. I still alternate between my vision clearo, tank and dripping. I just use my tank cartomizer until the draw gets too stiff and then change out.
I even learned how to punch my own cartos too....If I can do it, anybody can.
I've really had very little problems the the DCT's

SABOTEUR got a reaction from kitsune in Why Isn't Everyone Using Dcts By Now?
Heard about tanks but wasn't really interested in learning much about them. I tend to develop an urge for something first, research it, buy it, obsess over it a while, then use the heck out of it until I become bored with it or it doesn't work anymore.
WHY I suddenly became interested in tanks is something I can't explain. Woke up one morning and wanted a tank. Wound up purchasing the Vape-O-Matic Liquinator. 2 weeks later, I purchase my 2nd Liquinator. 2 weeks after that, I'm punching my own cartos.
What can I say...it works well. I don't experience any of the problems associated with tanks. The one problem I DO have is recognizing when to change cartos as I tend toward pushing them past a week.
Took me 3 years to find the perfect set-up. To me, the Provari and the Liquinator are a match made in heaven.

Welcome!
Always delightful to have new people discover the joys of vaping.
As for your question, you'll probably get as many answers as there are vapers. I'd respectfully suggest you browse the forum and read the answers submitted by other members to the very same question. That way you'll get a good overview concerning what's available, comparable to what your requirements are and what your budget allows.
I believe a good number of people may recommend the Joye eGo. It's a relatively low cost pv, yet it has very reliable performance and delivers a consistent vape. It's one of the models noted for it's "big battery" that lasts an average of 8-12 hours per charge. The eGo is a great pv for beginners or anyone who desires a good, low maintenance device.
Please visit often and keep us informed about your vape experiences.
(We love to share!)
Happy vaping!

SABOTEUR got a reaction from Sharon in Led Continueous Blinking
I often have the same problem with my 1100 mAh eGo battery. The battery is not making contact with the charger.
First, use a paper towel or napkin to clean any excess or caked juice from the threads. Then take a paper clip and carefully lift the circular base enclosed within the battery threads. It doesn't take much. Just slightly lift the base a bit. Your battery should charge now.
