New Cigarette Health Warnings
JonHitThingWithRock replied to Christopher's topic in Polls and Questionnaires
I don't think there's a single smoker in america who is unaware of the dangers of smoking, self-righteous anti-smokers will jump at any opportunity to tell them. So will this inform anyone of something they weren't already aware of? probably not. would it have dissuaded me? no. This may be an unpopular opinion, but i think enough has been done to inform smokers of the health risks of smoking, smokers know it's bad, and have that voice in the back of their heads that quitting is probably a good idea, but quitting happens by choice, when the drive and desire to quit overpower the addiction, and no amount of fear-based mud-slinging or tax-hikes will fully eradicate smoking in its entirety. But the true zealots of any cause never really stop after tunnel vision sets in. smoking at this point is wildly unpopular, broadly known to be extremely bad for your health, and ridiculously expensive. Friends telling friends about vaping will eventually do a hell of a lot more than outright oppression. I believe it's time for the anti-smoking zealots to slow it down a bit and let smokers quit on their own. And hey, if you're an anti-smoker who has trouble letting people live their lives, maybe it's time to go after fast food, that will kill you way faster than smoking could ever hope to. Jon -
yeah, that should basically never happen with a tank system, unless some liquid went the wrong way when you were filling it. Jon
-
i couldn't find this anywhere on the site link? @carlos i like those dual-coil cartomizers personally, they hold a ton of liquid, and taste great until they're empty, i'd say get 5 of those and 5 of the boge lr cartos, see which you like better Jon

The Best Option For 0 Nic Pacifier Vaping?
JonHitThingWithRock replied to toxicfume's topic in New Vapers Forum
no, they're all different, the 510 and ego are compatible, but not the kr808d and dse901 Jon -
i've probably got 75 bottles of juice that weren't quite what i was looking for, so it is expensive at first, but you'll eventually end up with favorites, and it's way cheaper then. Plus you've got samplers for friends who may like what you didn't. I ended up sending all my menthol liquids to another forum member, and if they found one that works for them, then for me it's well worth it. And if you compare the cost of finding that perfect juice to the cost of hospital bills down the road, you're still coming out way ahead Jon

when i was trying a lot of new flavors, i'd basically do what you said, which is set the atty/carto next to the bottle of juice. This works fine until the cat has a spaz attack and knocks everything over with his ridiculous monkey tail, then it's a matter of vaping a puff on each one to figure out what it is. Life gets considerably easier once you pick your favorites. Jon

New Ego Passthrough - New To Vaping
JonHitThingWithRock replied to zaudika's topic in New Vapers Forum
any cartomizers marked 510 will work with the eGo, i've used the boge low resistance, and dual-coil xl low resistance, both work quite well and are easy to fill. I personally use the drip down method, dripping along the sides (about 4 drops), setting it aside for a couple minutes to soak in, then dripping again, i repeat this process until there's a bit of leaking from the bottom, once that happens, i take a small piece of tissue paper, roll it into a tiny stick, and put it in the hole from the thread end and let it sit for a minute or so, takes it out, then i take a dry hit, if there's no gurgling, you're done, if there is, make another "tissue stick" and let it soak up the rest of the excess. once air flows freely through the cartomizer, it's ready to go. i keep 5 cartomizers filled at a time and rotate them out, once filled, i put the condoms back on to store in my case so the juice doesn't dry. I used to use the condom fill method, but i found the cartomizers didn't last as long before i'd have to refill, plus it was far messier and wasted more juice. It is, however, a bit faster than the drip-down method. Jon -

i very much second nana's advice, it seems like a pretty big waste of money if you're not a former or current smoker. If you're gonna do it anyway, i'd second the recommendation to use a 100% VG juice, good ones can be hard to find, most taste like tree bark imo, the only one i've really liked so far is "organic kona cream" from sweet-vapes.com. Jon -
i think sweet-vapes has a free or very cheap shipping option, takes a while to get there though.... out of all the places i've ordered from, i can't remember the shipping ever being that expensive, like $4-$6 at the most. I'd take a look at puresmoker.com's sampler pack, it's a bit spendy at $52 shipped, but it's a lot of juice, around 23 different flavors, if i remember correctly. Jon
-
one thing to realize is that your eGo-T batteries will work with any eGo or 510 stuff, so don't get a new pv, just get some 510 cartomizers, or atomizers, or eGo mega atomizers or cartomizers, or the dual coil xl cartomizers, or a 306 atomizer with drip tip, etc.... Jon
-
congrats! if a disposable works for you, then you'll love the 510. if you're looking for a good coffee flavor, try kona cream from sweet-vapes.com, it's quite excellent. Jon
-
be sure you're not switching around flavors too much without cleaning in between, especially with cartomizers. the main idea is to keep your atty/carto wet, over time you'll learn how often you need to be re-wettening. have you tried mellonica yet? it's my favorite by far of all the TONIC liquids, bananaca is also quite good. the mixture of pg to vg has a lot to do with both delivery method and preference, for me personally, it has a lot to do with flavor. for instance, with fruit flavors, i never want more than 20-30% vg, but with coffee flavors, it's pretty much the opposite, 20-30% PG, 70-80% VG, with everything else, 50/50 works well. different manufacturers do things a bit differently, i know puresmoker's TONIC is always between 60% and 100% PG depending on the juice, sweet-vapes will do any mixture you want, and they seem to be the only juice manufacturer that can make really good juices with a lot of vg (organic kona kream (100% VG) is quite excellent), but high vg juices take longer to wick into polyfill, and don't work well at all above 50% in tank systems. Also, when you're starting a new atty, it'll take a lot more juice to get it going at first, then the regular 3 drops per 5 or so puffs, if it tastes bad, add juice, if it still tastes off, might be time to clean it, dried juice in your atty can taste remarkably bad. Jon

one more thing to note... not being able to use the cone shouldn't be a deterrent, the point of the cone is to make the draw tighter, which i find necessary with the boge's, but the draw on the dual-coil xl lr is already pretty tight, so a cone wouldn't really be needed. Jon
-
i've been using the dual-coil xl lr cartomizers, got them from sweet-vapes, so they're the same ones you're looking at, and i've had good luck with them, i fill them using the drip-down method (takes a while), i use the clear ones so i can see when they're filled. i've had a very different experience than dayvape, once filled i can vape a full carto for a long long time, in fact i only start getting that empty carto taste when it looks completely dry (using a 50/50 mix juice). you can't get the cone around them, though, as they're pretty thick. one thing to note, however, is that the dual-coil xl's are more expensive than the boge's, and just aren't as durable, the plastic body is held to the base with some sort of glue, and you have to finesse them to keep from breaking that glue bond, once it's broken, you pretty much have to throw it away, also, because it's a plastic body, you can't boil it clean, and forced hot water through a nose bulb can only do so much. the boge carto's on the other hand, can be boiled, and are pretty solid, so you can clean and re-use many times, meaning you don't have to buy replacements as often, they don't hit quite as hard though imo. i haven't tried the clearomizers, but i've heard they're a massive pain to fill, plus it looks like sweet-vapes only has the 3.2-3.0 ohm versions (not sure if they make a low-resistance version or not), so i can't imagine them hitting very hard. Jon
-
i say as long as you're not getting a blu/green/envy, etc.. then you're on the right path. most people go for the skinnier ecigs thinking that there's a mental connection between the physical size of the device and its probability to succeed, but there really isn't, i got over the ego's size in 2 seconds, it's all about how it feels when you inhale and exhale, and a 510 has it where it counts, but take a good look at the ego before you make your decision. Jon
-
i think kitsume hit on a really good point, if you over-pressure yourself, the mental and physical consequences of anxiety could be worse for you than the couple cigarettes you'll have in a social situation. the fact that you made a pack of analogs last 2 weeks is quite an accomplishment, and if you have a bad day and smoke more than you vape, well that's ok too imo. the trick i use when i really want an analog is to immediately reach for the vape and take at least 2 good puffs before i light up an analog, if i still feel like an analog, i'll have one. also, pick your favorite juice and get a small bottle of a higher nicotine version and have a dedicated atty or carto for just that, and when the craving really strikes, hit it hard, this has worked very well for me so far, but there are still times when nothing but an analog will do, but the good news is that it's happening less and less over time. Jon
-
if it's not too much of a pita, i'd say go ahead and get the licence just in case, then you don't have to worry about it. Jon
-
the great thing about what you already have is that you can use anything that's made for the ego, ego-t, or 510. so any cartomizers or atomizers that work with those will work with what you've got. also, 306 atomizers will work. i've tried almost everything at this point, and i gotta say, tanks are my least-favorite method. give cartomizers and direct-dripping a try. Jon
-
you could get a couple of 510 batteries and a charger, and all your 510 stuff will work with both the 510 batteries and your ego batteries, just be sure to use the correct chargers on the correct batteries. the 510 batteries are smaller and lighter than ego batteries, but obviously don't last as long, if you get a car charger, you're pretty much set. for driving i prefer cartomizers, the boge's are quite good, especially in low resistance, the dual-coil xl's are also quite nice, last (me) all day, but can't be boiled (as far as i know) and cost twice as much, these are great for when you've found a flavor you really like. i'm not a huge fan of the tank systems so far, the ego-t just doesn't taste right to me, and the 510-t tanks don't last that long and are hard to take apart and clean (the taste is spot-on though). the classic cartridge and atomizers combo introduces an element of leaking, that i can't personally seem to get under control, so i always end up back with cartomizers for driving. Jon
-
sweet-vapes.com is certainly worth a mention. also, the ratios of pg and vg can drastically alter taste, and different blends lend themselves better to different flavor families. tank systems seem to be great for menthol flavors, ok for coffee and tobacco flavors, and quite terrible for fruit flavors, IMO Jon

Easy Way To Fill Ce2 Clearomizers?
JonHitThingWithRock replied to Christopher's topic in New Vapers Forum
Chris you may want to consider adding the dual coil xl cartos to your store, they fill up as easily as regular cartomizers, come in low resistance, come in clear, and last a very long time between refills. and with the blunt tip syringes, they fil up in no time. Jon
