  1. i used the condom fill method for quite a while, it's messier and less efficient than the drip-n-spin method, i even tried a condom fill and spin method, which mostly worked, but again was very messy. also i use juices with a lot of vg, and the condom fill method will push the juice through the middle, where it'll sit for a long long time while slowly absorbing, spinning allows me to fill a carto nearly as fast as with pg.
  2. i don't think there's anything snobby about buying US-made stuff, you're getting a superior product and supporting job growth
  3. lol, that wouldn't look janky at all. i suppose you could use superglue to put it back together, but that'd be putting more toxic stuff into something (plastic) that's already pretty toxic
  4. I had a "zip tip" from puresmoker that broke the first day i had it, it took a pretty nasty fall. I use stainless tips now, also got a couple pyrex glass ones
  5. Congratulations! I'm creeping up on my 1-year as well
  6. waiting on a smartvapes dripping atomizer, drip shield and 510-510 adapter (gonna give dripping another try after 6 months of only cartomizers), also a new table saw fence
  7. I think your filling method is likely to blame, dripping down from the top is a great start, but to totally fill it, make a spinner and force the juice all the way to the bottom. Essentially the procedure is: leave the bottom cap on, drip a couple drops into the filler, spin it, drip a couple more drops, spin again, keep doing this until it won't take any more, then take the cap off and GENTLY blow the excess through until the gurgle is essentially gone, then you can vape it, the first couple hits might be a little off, but once the gurgle is gone, you should be good. Now, as far as a spinner goes, it's very easy to make, just get a shoelace, some tape (electrical, duct, or athletic), and an empty juice bottle (mine was a 3ml, but most thin sizes will work. Cut the top portion of the bottle off so that you have a plastic cylinder with the bottom intact, tape the ends of the shoelace to opposing sides of the empty topless bottle, and you're done, drop your cartomizer in and spin away. Here's a picture of mine.
  8. For me personally, I've found that 2.0 ohm Boge's pack a more satisfying punch than 1.5 ohm Dual Coil cartomizers for most juices, but there are a couple juices that just work better with dual coils. the vapor from dc's is hotter that single coils, and goes through batteries faster, but one of the biggest advantages is that they make enormous dc cartomizers, and boge's have remained small, so you're refilling a lot, they do make an xl version of the boge's, but i've found that they not only don't hold any more liquid, but they don't work for crap, i would get one or two good hits then it just tasted aweful.... not really sure what went wrong, i've tried just about every type of cartomizer out there, and i always end up back with boge 2.0 ohm. Also, variable voltage eGo batteries already exist, they're called eGo twist batteries, http://www.joyetech.com/product/twist.php
  9. If you're not too dead-set on variable voltage, you could pick up an e-power 18650 tube mod, a charger, and a couple batteries for about $50 at sweet-vapes. one thing i like about the epower stuff is that the parts are individually replaceable and cheap
  10. got my legacy a couple days ago, loving it so far, just gotta wait until i can afford the kick and the extension so i can go vv
  11. i got one, not too impressed to be honest, i got 90% dry-ish hits, even though i put my ecig on it's side so that it could wick and only took a hit every couple of minutes. went back to my boge's. that being said, there are people out there who love these, although i can't see why
  12. i bought my original ego from puresmoker about a year ago, was definitely happy with their service as well. I currently have an ego 18650 tube mod (button is crap), a black e-power 18650 (finish is crap, flaked off in 3 days), and an e-power chrome 18650 which is actually not terrible. The only reason i never got an icon or a prodigy is that i have 9 18650 batteries and i'd feel ridiculous getting a mod that doesn't use them. I've been looking for a higher quality mod (NOT made in china), and this one looks perfect, i can use the batteries i already have and add variable voltage at any time.
  13. oooooooooh, i totally want that
  14. I usually put about 40 drops into a boge cartomizer, but i also use a spinner to force the liquid to the bottom. I adopted this method because i use a lot of high vg juice, but it works well for pg too.
  15. starbuckets mocha from sweet-vapes at a 50/50 mixture is my favorite, i could vape just that forever and be perfectly content, it is rather dark, so it does go through the cartomizers pretty fast
  16. i'm discovering that, much to my dismay, my 2 favorite flavors are very dark and they do clog the cartomizers quite fast, 2 or 3 days is all i get before i gotta throw them in the cleaning can
  17. Dejavu: I usually go with a 50/50 mix in order to get 2 or 3 days out of a cartomizer, i'd prefer 90% or 100% VG, but a boge will only go about half a day with it. The exception is fruit flavors, which i go for 80pg/20vg because fruit flavors aren't very good with a lot of vg
  18. mcquinn: you can use 100% vg in cartomizers, it just takes more work and some ingenuity. i made a "spinner", basically a 3ml bottle with the spout cut off taped to a shoelace, use the condom fill method and spin it around real good. the problem, of course is that you can only use that cartomizer for a day or 2 before it needs cleaning
  19. that is rare with the boge's, i've gone through hundreds and only one was bad out of the box
  20. why not just get another prodigy?
  21. i liked dual coils for a while, but lately i've found that with any amount of vg at 50% or more, they just don't seem to work as well as single-coil's, the theory in my head is that they just need more voltage, but i'm not really sure, i've completely moved back to Boge single-coil's, are there any tank carto systems for regular boge's? anyone know?
  22. I'll throw in another vote for Sweet-Vapes.com, It is now the only place i buy juice from, it can be tricky for a beginner because you can get any flavor at any mixture of pg/vg, but the flavor is always just right, not too much, not too little, just the perfect amount. two of my favorites are "Starbuckets Mocha" and "Fudge Brownie"
  23. try going to an auto parts store or perhaps an upholstery shop and try to find blue or red vinyl with an adhesive backing, it's pretty cheap and relatively easy to put on, i had to use some on my previously black e-power because all the paint came off, now it's "carbon fiber"
  24. DFWVapor.com has some pretty good juices, fairly cheap too, Puresmoker.com also has some good stuff
  25. I've tried a lot of juice from a lot of vendors, and i always end up back at sweet-vapes, they're the most expensive of the vendors i've gone through, but the juice is just so much better, all the ingredients are just that little bit higher quality. it's like organic fruit, yeah it's twice as expensive as the bio-engineered crap, but the taste makes it worth it (plus you won't grow a third eye after 20 years)
