I am guessing that Ruyan uses the same or similar cartridge design if there was a "juice" injector, say if the force of suction on the butt, pushed a piston forward, it is possible that modification in conjunction with a redesigned atomizer, could justify it's own patent. I don't know if Ruyan's patent claims are to the entire e-cigarette as a delivery system or if a significant change to the internal components would be enough.

Atomizers have been used in medicine for the delivery of medication. My neice and nephew had to use a large device to vaporize medication for RSV. It is possible to look at the heating design of one of these devices and replicate it in a smaller form factor. it could probably be used as demonstration of prior art which could possibly invalidate Ruyan's patent.

what sort of glycerin is used for this. I went to the drug store and there seem to be several varietys.

Does cutting the smoke juice with glycerin really increase the vapor output? If so, has anyone who has done this noted any increased wear on their atomizers?

Ok, if the FDA decides to ban the sale of e-cigs, will we still be able to get pre ban parts? I was just curious. I had a parcel seized by customs a few years back and all I had to do was file a claim form, pay a duty, and wait forever. I suppose an FDA ban would pretty much mean seizure with no chance to claim these parts. Just in case you are curious my seized package was a couple bottles of genuine Irish whiskey.

Well as long as the power wasn't out for more than a few hours I would plug the charger into my computers UPS, I am sure a low power unit like that would charge my e-cig batteries, if not I built a battery powered USB Charger from a kit I found in Maker Magazine, that should work.

It isn't that you can't make an atomizer, patent law allows you to make one, you just have to demonstrate an improvement to the existing design. Duplicates or knockoffs aren't really improving the design. I am guessing that these companies were making duplicates and didn't demonstrate a redesign.

How does the 510 perform when running on a a cartridge. It seems that everyone here drips just about all the time, but it seems like it could be a pain on the go.
