  1. Well, I hate to say it, but you guys here at Vaportalk were right. the eGo is awesome. after all my talk about my safe cig being great, and blah, blah, blah. I happened accross an nicely priced eGo passthrough at my local e-cig vendor, and man. What can I say, It's great. He hooked me up with a boge 306 and a drip tip, and I'm in heaven. I didn't think I would ever get the full satisfaction from vaping that I used to get from smoking, but I was wrong. I can't stand to say it, but I was wrong. this thing is great. I still have my joye 510 that slowly gets used less and less, and the safe cig is now an afterthought. the only reason I'm even keeping it around, is the rare cases where I'm in a bar or something, and just don't want to explain to someone what my cigar looking Ego is, but I have a feeling I will get over that in the near future. Thanks again guys. I'm now one of those guys that will be recommending the eGo to anyone who's not sure what to get, and at least the 510 if they want something closer to the size of a cigarette. It's just awesome.
  2. I didn't even want to start dripping, but my local e-cig vendor let me try a boge 306 atty this weekend, and I'm hooked. as mentioned above you don't need to buy anything other than the cartos to be setup for them. they will screw right onto you ego. as far as the 306 atty, same thing. just screw it on, put on a drip tip, and start dripping. it really is amazing. the difference in vapor, and flavor is astonishing. First time I've gotten a nicotine buzz since I quit the analogs. as far as the Provari, this could be a limited case, but I know a guy who bought one, and he's had a lot of problems with it. it eventually shorted out so he had to send it back, and is awaiting a replacement. again, could be that he just got a bad one. they are electronics, and electronics can fail.
  3. hahaha, Winning! I love it. This guy is off his rocker.
  4. thanks, I picked up both of these yesterday, and all I can say is wow. Oh yeah, I also picked up and Ego/passthrough, and again, wow. I didn't think I would like dripping but, you guys weren't lying. I don't think anything else has brought out the flavor of my juices better. the carts still taste kind of burn't to me, but I'm told they need to break in a bit, so I'll let you guys know. My first Ego batt, and I'm loving it though, and that 306(cough), I wasn't expecting that kick. whew!
  5. well I have used an LR cart on it, and it works, just drains the battery fast. unless that's why I'm not getting very good flavor from it, due to no power from the 510.
  6. I have to work, but will try to make it out after. hopefully people are still there. Just depends how early I can get out of work.
  7. I picked up a joye 510-t system, or at least I think it is a joye, and am just not feeling the vapor. As many has stated, the flavor just isn't there. Great vapor production, but just hardly any flavor. I've tried a hundred different ways to get flavor out of this thing, but no cigar. I was given a low resistance cart to try by the vendor, but that has an odd flavor when I use it. I want to say a plastic flavor. Again, great vapor, but just not digging the flavor it's giving me. I'm wondering what the next thing I could try. My first e-cig was a disposable Q-cig. It is a 510 model disposable cig, so I placed that atty on the 510 that I baught, and I gotta say it's not too bad. it actually gives me a better flavor than the others. should I just invest in some higher end regular atty's, or does anybody have any suggestions. I was thinking about direct drip, but I honestly don't want to constantly have to drip on the atty when I'm just trying to relax. Honestly, as of now, my safe cig gives me the best flavor, when I refill the carts with my own liquid, but everyone here telling me that the 510 is better can't be wrong, so help please. I really like the feel and vapor the 510 gives me. a lot more vapor than the safe cig, but I need that flavor production too. thanks everyone.
  8. Haha, after reading my post, I guess it could sound like I'm a bit grumpy. I didn't mean to come across as abrasive. I just seems like no matter what someone asks for help with sometimes. the answer is always the same, regardless of what the question was, or what the OP is asking for help with. I do agree the joye 510 might just be what she's looking for. I know I love mine. and I stated in my post, I look forward to picking up an Ego battery or two in the near future. I do like that when I'm doing something that requires both hands, like typing, or playing the piano, or guitar, I can let the Safe cig hang out of my mouth, and just puff away. they all have their pros and cons I guess. like many other things there is the right tool for the job. A perfect example is that I was bowling with some friends last night, and was puffing on my safe cig. The manager came up and told me that there is no smoking. I explained what it was, but she didn't seem convinced, and just said again "there's no smoking." When she left, I pulled out my Joye 510 (Black with Blue LED). I spent the rest of the night vaping and bowling without a second glance. It just depends on the situation. to each there own though. in the end you'll probably have to try different things, and see what works. a 510 is always a great option, as it is so compatible with so many other things, that you can mix and match until you find something you like, For me a Joye 510 and the safe cig are a perfect combo. for you maybe something totally different. just my 2 cents. Just read my post again. haha, I do sound angry don't I?
  9. Ego, Ego, Ego, is all I ever hear when someone asks what they should get to start switching from analogs, but no one ever listens to the OP's original question. She wants something the same relative size and shape of an analog. I ran into this same exact problem. Just so we are on the same page, I have owned only five different e-cigs. an Ego is not one of them. I currently use my safe cig as my daily driver, but I do own a joye 510-t. I also have some low resistance carts for it, for when I want a bigger hit. the problem I ran into with the 510 is that sometimes I just want a cigarette. I don't want to press a button, and have a blue light come on, and have people at the bar, party, outside on my break, etc... asking me what I am smoking. That is when I like my safe cig. I have posted about it before, and want to make it clear that I don't gain anything by you buying one. I won't offer you a discount. I refuse to even put a link to the site, anymore, just so we are clear that it is my honest opinion. if you search "the safe cig" you will find it, and you can find discount codes if you like it. In the end, I personally find the draw, taste, and feel to be more like a cigarette. therefore, it has helped me to not smoke an analog for as long as it says under my post, on the banner. I'm also not saying that you should, without question, go with the safe cig. but out of the "realistic" e-cigs I've tried, it is the only one I would stand by. there are draw backs. the carts are prefilled. you can refill them, it's just a little more work, and I found their flavors are pretty realistic. no fruity flavors here, just tobacco flavors, but I don't mind that. Another option, that I've heard good things about is the M401. The only reason that I will put a link to this one is that it is available on this sites affiliate store forevervapor.com, and again I have no affiliation to this. I just would like to help, as I know it's hard at first to make the switch. http://www.forevervapor.com/products/M401-e-Cigarette.html from my understanding the M401 is almost exactly the same size as an analog cig. I haven't personally used it so can't say 100% what your experience will be. The Safe cig. is almost exactly the same size as a camel wide king. a little bigger than you usual cig, but that doesn't bother me. I've been told twice this weekend that I can't smoke inside, so I assume it looks close enough to a cigarette, that most think it's real. Now don't get me wrong, The Ego is a great device. I've gotten to play with it, and try it out at my local e-cig vendor's store, and will be adding one to my collection soon, but E-cigs are not one size fits all, and all I ever hear is Ego, Ego, Ego, when for someone just coming off of analogs that might not be the answer. I hope this helps a little, and I by no means, am putting down the other suggestion. Just want to give you some other options. Good luck. Edit: Sorry, I wanted to add that I would stay away from the blu cig, or that one from lallaboutique, you might come accross if you google realistic e-cig. I've tried both of these and they are crap. the safe cig gets me about 5-8 hours one average, per battery throughout the day, today I'm still on my first battery at 6:00, and I left the house at ten AM, and 2-3 hours once I start chain smoking it at home. the others I was lucky to get 1-2 hours. But when at home I often switch to my 510 anyway, or go back and forth between the too. so it doesn't bother me. By the way, my 510 is the same size as a black and mild, That works for me, and may be close to what you looking for. a big plus there is that once you get comfortable with it not being a real cig, you can just buy an Ego battery, and it will screw right on. along with a lot of other accessories If I can be of any help let know, and again, good luck.
  10. I purchased the deluxe kit, and am really happy with it. Since I wanted it to cut back on smoking, and ultimately quiting smoking I didn't want to be left with a dead battery. I now only ever take 2 batteries with me when I go to work or out, since they fit nicely in the case with three cartridges. I have yet to go through both batteries before I get home, and I constantly use them. it just depends on what you think you'll need. another nice thing about the deluxe kit, is that it literally comes with all the accessories. I keep one battery charging at home so it's ready for me when I get there, I have a charger for my computer at work, and a car charger that all came with the kit, so I don't have to worry about running out of power and being tempted to bum a smoke from someone. Everyone is different though so it's hard to say for sure. Like I say, I went with the deluxe kit and am very happy with it. Also everything has a one year warranty. I figured that if by chance, one of the batteries fails or something, I still have two batteries while I get the one replaced. If you go with the safe cig, and need any help how to refill them yourself, just PM and I'll help you out. This was the only drawback I had found with their system, but once I got the carts open, it was smooth sailing. Realize though, If you don't want to mess with any of that The eGo will be a better bet, as it's more compatible with other carts, atomizers, tanks, and so on. If you are going to be using both, then you may not need the deluxe kit. If it's just for social situations, or for occasionally getting that cigarette feel in you hands, and the cig like draw it provides, then one of the smaller kits might suffice. Sorry, to probably have confused you even more. I guess it really just depends on your personal needs. I like having all of it just in case. that's just me though.
  11. You can find the safe cig on their website www.thesafecig.com . they have a 30 day money back deal in case you don't like it. it is also a two piece system, but you can refill the carts. you just have to crack the seal on the end you place your lips on. I've refilled one 7 times and it's still working. Also if you look around you can find discount codes for it. they're always getting updated, so just do a search for safe cig reviews. since the look and feel might not be an issue for you though, I'd wait until you get your eGo kit see how you like it. If you do, then you probably don't need the safe cig anyway. I just prefer it in certain situations, like when I'm driving. the last thing I want is somebody like a police officer seeing me smoking something that doesn't look like a cigarette, with all of my windows up, wondering what I'm doing. Also when I work, and go on break, no one asks me about my safe cig, unlike my 510 with the blue LED on the end. Good luck. I didn't quit that long ago, but I wouldn't have at all if it warren't for e-cigs.
  12. Just wanted to comment on why we sometimes want it to look and feel like a real cig. When we are coming from smoking analogs, its just what we are used too seeing and feeling in our hand. Having an e cig that looks and feels that way makes the transition a little easier I think. We also aren't used to being asked about what we are smoking, so the closer it looks to a real cig the less awkward we feel about it. Though this feeling passes, I still think cig look a like PC's have a place in the e cig world for us die hard smokers, even if its just temporary until we graduate to better models. I wont deny that there are some pretty sexy looking ecigs that look nothing like a real cig, that I hope to are to my collection in the near future.
  13. I wouldn't try lower nic levels, if anything I would go higher, since your coming off of analog cigs, which gives you higher nicotine faster than vaping. I started with a blu cig, and had a similar reaction. I'm pretty sure it's your body trying to get rid of all the tar from the regular cigs. I sent back the blu cig as it didn't feel enough like I was smoking a cigarette. I now have a 510-tank, with low resistance cartridges that I use when I really want a big throat hit, but the e-cig I keep going back to is My Safe Cig. The safe cig, I think, has the most realistic draw and flavor, that I've tried. I was a little more expensive than a lot of other ones, but once I figured out how to open the cartridges and refill them myself, I really started to enjoy it. A lot of people here will tell you to get an Ego, which I think is a great e-cig, and for a lot less money than the safe cig. the only problem I had with the ego, and the 510 is that as I just switched over from analogs to e-cigs, I still tend to want something that feels, looks, and draws like a real cigarette, and the safe cig gives me that, like I said the 510 gives me biggger stronger hits, but sometimes I just want something cigarette like. that's when I go to the safe cig. I heard some bad things about the south beach cigs, but I never used one, so I can't compare. I would say to try again. you body will adjust, and in the end you will feel a lot better vaping instead of smoking. I know I do, and I didn' switch all that long ago. now I barely want a regular cig, and when I do my e-cigs take care of the craving.
  14. has anyone created like a vapor gas mask yet. I can't seem to get enough of this stuff, but I have to use my hands some time. Haha. no seriously though I need something that can hang from my mouth like an analog for when my hands are busy, like when working on the car, typing, playing guitar, and piano, playing video games.... any suggestions.
  15. I've been using the tank-b style for 2 days now. pretty good vapor, and consistancy, but I have to keep it full, or I start to get a plasticky after taste. could just be me though. I guess that answers the flavor question. good flavor though, just when it gets lower, starts to get weird. I noticed this is less noticable if I let it warm up for a second or two before I start puffing.
  16. yeah, now that you mention it. that is closer to what I do too. I recently quit smoking so I do tend to mimic the smoking ritual of taking 8-10 hits sometimes, but most of the time I find myself just takind a puff or two everywhere, I guess it kind of balances out. just wasn't sure. Is there a point where I should be worried?
  17. Hi all, I'm pretty new to vaping, and was only smoking about 10- 15 cigs a day. I've slipped a couple of times but have pretty much gone completely e-cig, but find that I am now vaping a lot more than I ever smoked. I mean like all day. It's just so convenient, and better tasting, I can't seem to stop myself. I use 18mg, and haven't really noticed any trouble, but don't know if it's just too much. When I can I vape. sometimes like 4 sessions of 8-15 hits an hour. Is this really bad? has anyone come across any negative effects from this? I don't think the Nicotine is causing any bad effects, other than maybe late at night when It'll just keep me up later, but I don't really mind this. I work like 12 hours a day, so I can use the help. Just wondering, thanks.
  18. I don't know if there are many people from york on this site, but I figured I'd let them, and anyone in the area that I stumbled across an e-cig shop. If anyone knows of any others in the area I'd love to know about them. This one is at Morning Star Market. I was really leery about it at first, it being at a basically a flea market, but I can tell that they have a decent selection of e-cigs, and accessories to go with them. Frankly I was amazed that this place was 2 minutes from my house, and actually had good stuff, and great service. I baught a 510 off of the guy this past weekend, and he spent about an hour talking to me about it, and all of the future options I have to with it. He didn't even want me to leave until he got it setup for me, and made sure it all worked well, and that I was satisfied. when I told him that I wasn't sure about the taste coming from the tank, he did some trouble shooting with me, ( he also explained that this is common with tanks), He then gave me an empty low resistance cart for it, and mouth piece, so that I could try that out, and see what I liked better for free. I know these arent that expensive, but the service was great none the less. If anyone is in the area and isn't sure where this place is, let me know, and I'll help you out. He vape's himself, and loves getting the latest toys to try, and if he likes them they'll be on the shelf. He is all about repeat business, so I feel really good about doing business there. You will find lower prices online, but if your from the area, you pobably won't get the same service, and if you're new to the vaping thing, like I relatively am, you can get your hands on some stuff, get a lot of questions answered( he loves answering questions), and if you aren't sure then. He's got some decent 510 disposables that aren't really that bad, for 12 bucks. Yes the Joye ego systems, and others nicer systems he has there will be better, but just to try it out 12 bucks isn't bad. Hope this helps someone out in my area. Happy Vaping.
  19. I am also very new to vaping but quickly spent a bunch of money chasing the e cig dragon, and can give you my 2 cents to try to help you out. My first e-cig was a disposable 510 model made by a company called Q-smoke. It wasn't too bad, but the liquid it came with was horrible, and well, it's a disposable so it didn't last too long anyway. I bought into the hype and baught a Blu cig. looks kinda cool, but the vapor and also flavor tend to be very inconsistent. I then baught a safe cig. actually not a bad product, but due to the design, and PRICE (89-150 bucks) it ends up lacking. Once I discovered how to open up the cartomizers and refill them myself, the experience got better. Until then there was no way to refill them, so once the cart was about half way empty, it would start acting inconsistent in vapor production and taste. taste is a big one too. although the stock liquid isn't horrible, it's also not great, and you are stuck with it until you vape it all, and even then they are hard to get the taste out of. the safe cig would actually be great for on the go, but there just isn't any compatibility with other carts, atomizers, tanks, and whatever other cool stuff I don't even know about yet, or hasn't even been invented yet. In the end, I just baught a generic 510-t (I know, I know, It's not a Joye). the cool thing about this is, everything is interchangeable. you buy something like a 510, and now you can experiment with different carts, tanks, atomizers, batteries and so on, without having to break the bank. I really wish I would have found this forum before I started, and then actually listened to the experienced people here. don't know if it helps, but I'm really happy with my 510, I not a huge fan of the tank system it came with, but that's me. When I baught it, the guy at the shop gave me a free low resistance cartomizer for it to try out, and I tend to go for that a lot more. It really brings out the flavor of the juice better, and doesn't have a plastic after taste that the tanks have. I plan on picking up an eGo battery, which will screw right on, thanks to the 510 being awesome, with a built in passthrough/charging port, next week. I'm hoping to get my money back on the blu cig, and the safe cig, as I haven't even had them thirty days. hopefully they won't give me any trouble. I hope this helps, and good luck.
  20. I just wanted to give some feedback feedback. Ivfound a place up the street at a local flea market that actually has a really nice selection of e Cigs and such. The Guy there was really helpful in explaining all of his products and had some really good prices. Yes they are better online, but there isn't much in the way of demonstrations, and hands on experience. So I picked up a 510 manual tank unit and put it to the test against my Blu cig, and safe cig. He also threw in a cartomizer so that I could really campare. I refilled the Blu and the safe cig's carts with Hilton e juice, as well as the 510 so there would be no favorites, and here's what I found. Wow the 510 kills it on vapor. Though the safe cig comes close, the manual switch on the 510 just lets me keep going and going. The Blu cig gets close sometimes, but just isn't consistant. The real draw back with the safe cig comes down to compatability, and price. Yes I can refill the carts, but forget about slapping on an ego battery and just puffing away. (Gonna pick one up next week, incidentally it has a pass through built in so you can puff and charge. NICE.) And for 150 bucks compared to 60 and local customer service, there is no comparison. Needless to say ill be trying to send back both the blu cig, and the safe cig for a refund. I ordered a dse 084 off of Amazon just for when I go out, it was cheaper than both the others, and wont be such a pain to fill, but my new toy of choice is definetly the 510, and thanks to the market being 2 minutes from my house, ill have plenty of new toys to choose from. Thanks everyone for all the help. You guys were right. This thing rocks. I don't think its a joye, he had those for more $, but it is worth what I payed and as you guys know, I can upgrade it piece by piece later. I'd say the only downfall is that I've been vaping constantly since I got it. If that's a downfall
  21. Oh yeah, I kept saying the 901, but I meant the 510. From what I understand the 510 is more like the size of a black and mild. I'm hoping to find a nice cigarette size one, for out and about. I do like the idea of just having to change the battery, and not actually switch units.
  22. thanks everyone for all the help, I am definetly looking into an ego, or 901 now, but am still looking for something realistic to take to the bar, or on smoke breaks at work. I don't think, at this point, i will stick with quitting the analogs unless I have something that doesn't attract all of the attention when out and about. I was looking at the intellicig, but not much in the way of reviews there. if anyone has any thoughts on this, please let me know. thanks again for all of your replies, I can tell I'm going to like this forum.
  23. Just wondering if anyone on this site has tried the intellicig. www.intellicig.com I saw one review on it, but I don't really trust those anymore. I know, I know, I should just get the eGo, or something of that nature, but as of now I'm still stuck on wanting it to feel like a cigarette so that I can get off of those first. I currently have a blu cig that I pretty much stopped using, and am hoping to send back before the thirty days are up, and a safe cig. The safe cig actually isn't that bad, but with how big it is ( it looks to be about the size of a 901) it's just not doing it for me. and well, for the price I paid, I may send that back too, now that I have seen a bit of what else is out there. I heard that the intellicig has great vapor production, but not much throat hit. isn't the throat hit more a result of e liquid than the cig you're using? if that's the case, then I will just get empty cartridges from them, and fill them with something recommended from here. I know that an eGo, or 901 may have more vapor, but I'm looking for something closer to a real cigs production anyway, and really the ego and 901 look like they produce more than one anyway. thanks for any thoughts. also if anyone can recommend an ecig that's life like, and well made, but not crazy overpriced I'd greatly appreciate it. thanks again.
  24. From looking around, I can tell that neither of these two e-cigs may be very popular here, but I figured I'd check in for some advice. I just switched from analog cigs to e-cigs, and am wondering about these e-cigs. I started with a mall type disposable made by a company called Q-Cigs, I think. it was less than perfect, but did open the door. I then purchased a Blu cig starter kit. this was better but still lacking. I now purchased the Safe cig and have had it for two days. Now we're getting warmer. literally the smoke is warmer, and tastes and feels more like a cigarette, but the size kind of bothers me. I am used to the way a cigarette feels, and want my e-cig to look and feel as close to a real cig as possible. I'm thinking about getting the Green smoke starter kit. I am definetly sending back the Blu cig, and still have plenty of time for the safe cigs thirty day return, but am wondering if anyone has any experience with the last two. the Safe cig, and the Green Smoke. I understand that the Green smoke is thinner, more like a real cig, but want to make sure that the flavor and vapor are atleast as good as the safe cig, and hopefully better. thanks to anyone who has any thoughts.
