  1. LOL Danpio! Yes, I'm interested in it too - it would be my first mod, my first VV, my first "high-tech" e-cig. I think it looks pretty cool and sturdy, and not too large. I'm not into carrying a lightsaber around. Hard to take a discreet public vape off something the size of a big flashlight! I found it for sale here in England, and here direct from China, although the latter doesn't give you any color choices - black only. I think I'm going to wait for a U.S. retailer as I don't want to pay a ton of shipping costs.
  2. Crap. I just noticed that danpio1217 spotted it first over
  3. Okay, I don't know how new this is, or even where to get it, but I promised Chris I'd post in this forum if he created it. Looks like Innokin started doing press releases on it earlier this month. If it's not new, I'd ask the admins to kindly delete this topic and save me the embarrassment of not knowing what's new anymore! http://www.innokin.com/itaste-mvp.html
  4. "Luke, I see you have crafted your own lightsaber." Wow, this thing looks amazing!
  5. Many years ago, as a smoker living alone, I used to keep an ashtray next to the bed, usually with a couple of half-smoked cigs in it. I'd sometimes wake up from a bad dream, roll over and light up and take a few drags before going back to sleep. You can guess what happened. Obviously, I survived, but one morning I did wake up to find a burnt cigarette and a scorch-mark on the carpet next to the bed. From that day on, no more ashtray next to the bed. Now that I've been vaping for over three years, I recently started keeping my e-Cig on my bedside table and was wondering if anyone else did the same.
  6. Ha! I'm a pack rat when it comes to vaping - I never throw anything out! I still have a bagful of used 510 SR atomizers that I'm sure science will one day find a way to resurrect! I even still have my original 910 from over 3 years ago, my first e-cig, and I can't believe I transitioned off analog cigarettes with that thing! (The 36 mg. e-liquid helped) I want to have it framed. So I'm quite intrigued by your suggestion of Boge cartomizers, blucavvy. Where might one pick up a dual coil carto for the Boge, for $4.00?
  7. The Boge Leo. Never could get decent vapor out of it and the atty always overheated after two drags.
  8. I've been using my new Vision eGo CE4+ Clearomizer for two weeks now and I am very pleased. It's my first clearo. I wanted something that had better flavor delivery than a cartomizer and would allow me to see how much juice I have left so I don't get dry hits. That being said, I do occasionally get a dry hit when the juice gets low. Not so low there's none visible, either. More like a quarter-tank full. I thought the longer wicks with this model would eliminate that issue, but alas that's not been my experience. I just keep the thing full whenever it drops below a half-tankful. Besides that issue, I'm really enjoying these, and I love the way the industry is constantly trying to make a better mousetrap! BTW, I bought them here: http://www.discountvapers.com/vision-ego-ce4-clearomizer-v2-clear/
  9. LOL, Right after I finished my reply, I thought "Hey, why not just squirt the juice inside and avoid the center post?" And it worked just fine! Then I thought, "I bet someone already replied and pointed this out!" And you did! I love this forum.
  10. Hey guys, Thanks for all the great posts and to JeffB for starting the thread. I've been looking for something new (aren't we all). Been using LR Cartomizers for several months now after leaving direct drip atty's behind (because they're too expensive and have a very inconsistent life span, in my experience.) I've been missing out on flavor since switching to cartos, so the promise of less-muted flavors really drew me to these clearomizers. Mine arrived today from Discount Vapers; I ordered (3) of the LR eGo CE4+ variety with the longer wicks. http://www.discountv...aromizer-v2-lr/ So far, so very good. Much better flavor with these than cartos, very nice vapor production off my eGo battery, no leakage. But for me the best quality of these is simple: I can see how much juice I have left! No more nasty taste when I burn the carto because I'm outta juice. No more topping off and having it leak out the bottom. Only gripe is having to fill with a syringe. I'd like to get away from using the syringe because I don't like accidentally sticking myself. How's everyone else filling their clearomizers? I'll re-post as to their longevity, but from what you're all saying, I should at least get two weeks out each one.
  11. That's exactly what I was thinking - a more discreet model while out, use the mod at home. I also agree that the discovery of a "charging station" sounds suspiciously like one would use with batteries for a mod. Also, there was this extra tidbit of info from a few hours ago: http://www.chicagotr...0,5526242.story That's some serious damage to be sure. It seems to me this was quite a sizeable explosion, one that I wouldn't expect from a small battery. Notice the term "cigar-sized device." Also, it caused nearby items to catch fire, which, again, I wouldn't expect. But I have no experience with explosions, battery or otherwise. Certainly he has my best wishes for a full recovery.
  12. Thanks for that bit of investigative Facebooking, Vacker! Nicely done! This is the type of story that is so frustrating to deal with. The event is described in a horrific way, yet there are absolutely no real details that could be of use to anyone. Will those details be forthcoming? In today's news-bite media environment, it seems unlikely. Now I just want to know more. JeffB assumes the gentleman was stacking his batteries. The news report says he has been using an e-cig for 2 years, so it's possible he's been around them enough to become interested in using mods, but perhaps ignored some important safety guidelines. It does seem highly unlikely that he was using an off the shelf model, even though what Vacker turned up points in that direction. I'd also like to know a great deal more about batteries exploding: Why it happens, how to prevent it, could such an explosion cause the injuries described in these articles? Any medical folks out there on VT? I know none of us wants to even consider the idea of something like this happening to us.
  13. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2101565/Tom-Holloway-suffers-horrific-burns-exploding-electronic-cigarette-knocks-teeth.html?ITO=1490 Say what?
  14. Just got my 15 pack of the "Ressurector" LR Mega Cartos. IMO, an excellent value. For the price of 2, maybe 3 good atomizers, you get 15! Each one has lasted me two or three days, then I chuck it. I haven't bothered to find out if you can clean them and extend their life. Good flavor, lots of vapor, nice throat hit. Never was happy with cartos, and now I am.
  15. Yep, the Boba's Bounty is 100% VG. So am I just screwed if I want to keep using it? Is there anything atomizer-wise that can handle VG liquids?
  16. ProfBeard & Chris: I think I vape around 2-3 mls per day. Question: Can the new cartomizers, (LR, dual coil, mega and otherwise), handle the really thick e-liquids?
  17. Hi all! I've been vaping quite a while now and haven't touched an analog since I started, nearly two and a half years ago, but lately I've been in Atomizer Hell. Atomizer Hell is where you finally feel like you've found something you really like in an atomizer, (you know, the right amount of vapor, the right amount of throat hit), and then suddenly every atomizer you buy as well as every atomizer you have in your personal emergency stock either dies on you after a day or two, gives really poor performance, or is just DOA, leaving you with nothing viable to vape. It's enough to make one go back to analogs. (Yes, I was tempted, but resisted breaking out my old cigarette stuffing machine and tobacco). In short, I seem to have really rotten luck with atomizers these days. I've been an eGo user since shortly after they appeared on the market. (Before that I was using a pen style, remember those days?) I haven't been able to afford the snazzy battery mods out there, and yes I am a little envious. I'm happy with my battery setup, though. The eGo XL batteries are a good size for me. Most of the other battery mods look too large, and I don't want to draw attention to myself. Some of the box mods out there look like walkie-talkies to me! So here's my request for help: I need to find an atomizer I can live with. I am open to suggestions on atomizer/battery combos too. Here's the background: I've warmed up to LR 510 atomizers for the eGo.(pun intended). At first, using a very early version of the drip tip, (i.e. small), the LR atomizers actually burned the inside of my lips and the tip of my tongue. But using the supplied mouthpiece and taking shorter, less frequent vapes has gotten me past that. All in all, I've been very satisfied this past month using a Joye 510 LR atty with Boba's Bounty e-liquid. Big flavor, big throat hit. Hell, I'd almost like to call it "Lung Hit" if no one else has invented the term. I didn't want it to end, but all atomizers eventually just bite the dust. The Boge 510 LR atomizers have been a bust; one lasted me only 24 hours before dying, the second was DOA. Speaking of Boge, I do own a Boge Leo. While it has nice battery life, the vapor from this thing is so inconsistent. One minute you're vaping away, happy as a clam, the next it's like trying to suck a golf ball through a garden hose and still not getting any vapor. I'm seeing that a lot of you are using cartomizers. I tried them when they first became available, and I must say I was not impressed. They were standard, not LR (those weren't available yet). They were a pain in the a** to fill, and they didn't wick the thicker liquids very well at all, and they only lasted a couple days. Now I'm seeing posts about "dual coil" and "mega" cartomizers, and I still don't understand what the f*#@ a clearomizer is. Help? I've tried the eGo-T atomizers and cartridges, and while I really liked the convenience of not direct dripping all day, the flavors were muted and every atty that wasn't DOA only lasted three maybe four days. With prices around ten to fifteen bucks a pop, that's just not sustainable. I might as well be buying analogs. I'm currently treading water with a regular old 510 atomizer. What I'm tired of (besides the completely unpredictable lifespan of these things) is having to take a five or six second draw each time I want a nic fix. That's what I used to have to do back in the days when I first started vaping on the DSE 901 and the penstyles. Haven't we come further than that by now? I'm seriously jealous of VT member JayH503 who recently posted this: I would very much like to be in that club. Reliability. Yes, I know, atomizers are meant to be disposable. But I need to get more than a week out of an atty if it's costing me ten bucks. So I'll sacrifice lifespan only if it means lower cost. So that's my story, now I open it up to you, VaporTalkers. Help me get set up! And thanks in advance for the advice!
  18. I agree with some of the above-posts: At the end of the day, the flavor just doesn't seem to be there anymore. I've found switching up flavors to be helpful.
  19. Nope, the atomizers do not work on either battery. I'm using them on eGo batteries (one regular, one XL).
  20. Chris, thanks for the reply. I've been with VT Forum, as you know, since (nearly) the beginning, and I have never doubted your integrity or that of the VT Store, and I don't now. You are my go-to place for honesty, and you are much appreciated. I'm still not understanding the center pole concept. So you're saying it's the BATTERY that's the problem? I hate to ask this, but is there some thread with pictures to help break it down for me? I don't want to go fiddling around at the battery connection with metal tweezers; knowing me I'll push the button and zap myself into next week.
  21. I'm with Nana - - please explain what you mean about wiggling and/or lifting the center post/pin. I'm intrigued. . .
  22. Hi all, I've been around the block a bit in terms of vaping. I just celebrated my TWO YEAR tobacco free anniversary (thank you, thank you). But I'm experiencing a new problem: The last five (5) 510 atomizers I've purchased, from two different sellers (one of them being the Vapor Talk Store) have just up and died on me after approximately two weeks each. One minute I'm vaping away, the next, zip, nada, atomizer is dead. Now since I've started vaping, this has never happened to me. Atomizers always die a slow death over the course of a month, or month and a half if I'm lucky. Then I pitch them and screw on a new one. (I am a direct dripper BTW). But this new phenomenon has me puzzled. I use a Joye Ego, no passthrough, just a regular battery and an XL battery each day. I thought maybe the first three times it happened it was because I bought junk attys (even though they were advertised as "Genuine Joye"), but now that it's happened with two out of the three atomizers I bought from VT Store, I'm really concerned. What is going on here? Anyone else experiencing this?
  23. Done and dusted. Let me add my thanks to all non-New Yorkers for your help in preventing this poorly-drafted piece of legislation from getting out of committee.
  24. Really excited to give this a try! Good going, Chris! From a humble forum founder to an e-cig innovator and advocate, you are truly a renaissance man! Wishing you, your family and your staff a very Merry Christmas!
  25. I've tried quite a few myself, and have found that Awesome Vapor's "Special Roast Coffee" is the best. A very nuanced flavor that tastes like a quality cup of coffee. Just my two cents, your mileage may vary.
