  1. Well, I appreciate your enthusiasm. I just found the eGo MEGA Cartomizer. Do I understand correctly that it's basically a Tank in cartomizer form? I hear the disadvantage of the Tank is that it breaks atomizers more easily, so wouldn't the MEGA Cartomizer solve that problem?
  2. VG will give you more vapor. There is some evidence that VG can break down your atomizer too though. If you want less throat hit I HIGHLY recommend Vapor Renu http://www.vaporrenew.com/ they are supposed to have very little throat hit, lots of vapor, are highly customisable (VG/PG ratios), and excellent/accurate flavors.
  3. I finally got my eGo in the mail, and it's really nice! However, I cannot stand the cartridges. They are huge pain, and often I can taste them burning. I'm sure I can push the filling in etc, but I was pretty interested in the fluxomizer/eGo tank/tank mod solutions. My understanding is that they put the liquid straight on the atomizer, without using that cotton-ball-type filling stuff. I heard fluxomizers need a little bit of screwing with, and are easily modded, but work pretty well if you get the right. The eGo tank seems like the coolest thing since sliced bread, and I want to buy one asap. Anyways, I was wondering if I can't deal with cartridges, are the Tanks the way to go? Are there really any cons to the tank system? What about fluxomizers? Also, beyond the fluxomizer, are there any tank/fluxomizer type devices for the KR808? Thanks for the info!
  4. So, I was doing a bit of research on the eGo, eGo MEGA, eGo-T, and other brands like the "KGO". I did a little math and found something pretty surprising! The standard Joye eGo is 112mm and 650mAh, while the eGo MEGA is around 133mm for 900mAh. There are other brands you can find online that boast 1100mAh batteries, and 1300mAh batteries. Well, I did a little math. The size of eGo battery itself is around 54mm. That means the "other part" (atomizer/cart/cartomizer/whatever) is around 58mm. And for the eGo MEGA the battery is about 76mm. Where I am going with all of this? Well, as it turns out, if you take the length of ANY of the Joye batteries, and divide by 12, you get almost EXACTLY the mAh rating. Just take the length of the full cigarette, subtract the non-battery part (58mm), and multiply by 12! Here are some random brands I found online: 112mm-58mm=54mm * 12 = 648 (aka 650) - Joye eGo 118mm-58mm=60mm * 12 = 720 (aka 700) - random eGo i found online that boasted 680-700mAh of battery life. 133mm-58mm=75mm * 12 = 900 - Joye eGo MEGA 150mm-58mm=96mm * 12 = 1100 - KGO-T (random battery i found online) It matches up for a LOT of them, although not all (who would have guessed we'd see false advertising for e-cigs!). I was wonder if you guys saw cigarette length correlate in your e-cigs. Do ALL of your longer eGo batteries show consistently better battery life... is the Riva just a tiny bit longer than the normal Joye eGO? Geek Note: the KGO and KGO-T both have the same 1100mAh of battery life, although one is a half centimeter longer. The KGO is supposed to be around 142-144mm. There is also a 167mm battery that claims 1100mAh. Go figure.
  5. They're reputable, check this link instead. http://www.dealextreme.com/c/cigar-pipes-and-cases-815 The cigarettes seem nearly identical to the Blu e-cigarettes, and at a much more fair price . Yeah, definitely a risk with the OEM straight-from-china eGo purchases. I might buy a sample of unbranded KR808D-1 or E9 batteries. Cartomizers are a good idea, because they typically want you to buy in bulk (honestly, I don't think they care how much you buy - they are only paying for the parts! just that you spend over $100 on your purchase), and even if you're throwing half of them out like you said it's still not really that bad of a deal. Anyways, I emailed some people, I'm curious as to what they'll send me back. Not exactly planning on breaking the bank to get 50 eGo batteries, but I just wanna see where this goes.
  6. Has anybody looked at dealextreme? They have e-cigarettes "kits" with an atomizer/case/pcc/battery for less than $10 with FREE shipping. I might just try it out. http://s.dealextreme.com/search/E-Cigarette Also doing a quick google search for "chinese e-cigarette" gave me some AMAZING prices. Like check this out: http://www.e-cigarette-china.com/the-joye-ego-standard-starter-kit-p-396.html Add the atomizer, and you have a kit for $37, the SAME price as the riva from liberty flights -- and it's the Joye eGo. I found this after about 10 seconds of google searching, so I'm sure there are better deals out there from china. Anyways, this is something i'll be looking into... edit: I've found some eGo clones OEM for about $15 a kit... I should start selling these things
  7. I just got Awesome Vapor's Clove flavor on recommendation. It's perfect - it tastes exactly like cloves! I don't know what else I could have asked for. I put it in my "Reds" cartomizer - a disgusting tobacco flavor, with a bizarre chocolate powder taste (like bitter chocolate). However, the I was AMAZED at the result. The mix of chocolate with the sweetness of the cloves, makes an AMAZING mixture. I was wondering if anybody else had tried mixing chocolate and clove. The trick would do mostly clove, and just add a hint of chocolate. If you have the supplies I'd highly recommend trying to make it! P.S. Unfortunately, the Reds & Clove still has a weird aftertaste from the Reds flavor.
  8. Automatic batteries have four disadvantages: 1) They have holes in them, so if you're filling up your own carts etc and your e-liquid gets into your battery it will kill it. Manual batteries don't have this problem. 2) Some automatic batteries go off even when you're not smoking them. This sucks. They don't all have that problem. 3) Some automatic batteries do not go off when you ARE smoking them, at least not at first. They require a primer drag. At the very least all automatic batteries will require you to pull with a certain amount of force. 4) Many automatic batteries have a cut-off time of around five seconds. This can be a pain in the butt if you want to take a longer drag, and it just shuts off. I am sure there exists an automatic battery without ANY of the last three problems (a 7 second cutoff should be fine). In the end getting an automatic battery will not kill you. However, any seasoned vaping veteran will recommend the manual battery, because in the end they are actually better.
  9. You should definitely just wait it out, and not tell anybody about it. kidding... Numbness can be a blood flow issue, so it could be from the e-cigs - caffeine might cause the same thing. The only way to know for sure is... well... what everybody else said. People should get a physical once a year, most doctors do.
  10. After a couple days of vaping here's what I've discovered. First of all, I don't know why this never occurred to me, but people rant and rave about battery life for a GOOD reason. Battery life is of the up-most importance if you want to quit (and make your purchase worth while). Because if you're battery dies, you will go back to smoking those "analogs". Guaranteed. Second, while I do not believe that the automatic batteries have a serious disadvantage on starting up etc. many of them do have cutoff times of 5 seconds, which is REALLY annoying. You'll want to take a nice long drag, and get a real burn in the back of your throat... but often times you can't go as long as you'd want. Third, I'll reiterate this, any "tobacco" flavor you get will be vastly inferior to actually smoking tobacco. It's like making a popcorn jelly bean. Think about it, it's hard for companies to replicate tastes exactly, especially from something like smoke to a flavor suspended in air. Try menthols, or even cloves if you have to. I tried my friends carts with flavors like vanilla and cherry, and honestly when you first take a drag it feels like a cigarette and you don't notice a taste until you exhale. Vanilla is oddly satisfying, even for stubborn me, who refused to buy any for himself. Tobacco will just make you long for a real cigarette that tastes less like crap. Lastly, you will vape more than you smoke, particularly if you don't smoke much. Vaping is fun, you can do it anywhere, and you won't worry about your health. I'd recommend people starting with lower nicotine liquid than they'd think. If you're a heavy smoker try "medium", if you smoke less than a pack a day, definitely opt for "light" or no nicotine liquid. If you get a smaller e-cig definitely get the PCC. That way you can constantly be charging one battery, and hopefully have another battery out and loaded. Think about it, vaping is a good alternative, but I often still crave a cigarette, and if you're battery EVER dies and you're having a nic fit, you won't hesitate to go back to tar. These points should be written in red all over the site. :-P I don't want ANYBODY to think i'm at all dissatisfied with my purchase, these things are unbelievably close to a real cigarette, and may one day save my life. I love vaping, and I'm definitely happy with my Bloog and everything I bought - they're just important considerations to make with any purchase.
  11. I got my bloog today! It's REALLY nice. We'll have to see about the battery life. I got two automatic batteries, the standard KR808D-1 Bloog Fusion, and the Bloog MaxxFusion. First impressions: I was worried about not enough vapor and not enough burn in my throat. Not a problem! It makes MORE vapor and burns my throat MORE than a cigarette. I got the medium cartomizer (11mg) and it's one hell of a lot stronger than a cigarette too! It doesn't really taste like a cigarette... the "Reds" flavor is kinda chocolate-y, and the Kamel is kind of a sweet flavor as well. RY4 is sweeter than both of them, and has a tad bit of that musky chocolaty-ness. All of the cigarette flavors taste like the WORST cigarette I've ever tasted in my life, but I suppose I kind of expected that. Next time I'll try and get more menthol-like flavors. Kamel, however is my "favorite". The automatic KR808D-1 bloog fusion is a little weird at times. It doesn't go off automatically when i'm not dragging but i do sometimes need to take a quick drag to get it started before it'll go on with my second drag. The Maxxfusion is honestly flawless. Maybe i'll feel different when I get my eGo. But seriously, automatic batteries are NOT all that bad. I realize the manual ones are "better", but it's really not a huge deal AT ALL. The maxxfusion is flawless, the fusion MAY start a little late, but it's easily cured by a quick puff before you start... nothing huge. Another thing, I keep coughing off of this thing. This is NOT a bad thing. I cough a bunch anyways from smoking, and considering the ecigs put next to no residue in your lungs, i'm coughing out all that tar! Woo-hoo! Good riddance! My friend tried it out, was not terribly impressed, honestly I took a drag of a real cigarette - tastes a bit nicer. But I really think I can hold out on buying another pack now that I have this guy. Plus it's like a new toy, it's mad fun.
  12. Okay, I went in deep, and bought TWO e-cigarettes. You guys were all SO helpful it was absurd. The chat here is amazing. I made two purchases because I got a little caught up, but mostly I'm just sick of my smoker's cough. The first was from vapor galaxy (is that spam?) Recommended by ma' ryann :-P, my unofficial namesake. $37.00 eGo USB/Passthrough kit ( _$3.00 Drip Tip _$9.00 PG liquid (15mL) _$7.50 VG Liquid (10mL) _$8.00 Low Resistance Cartomizer (didn't end up buying... dropped at the last minute, because of Bloog). A DAMN good package for $56!! (I didn't get the cartomizers b/c of bloog). I honestly don't think I could have found a better intro-to-e-cigs kit anywhere with more options or cheaper. Look at ALL the options!! I also decided to get a bloog. I just went why not, and splurged. I figured out how to give myself a "good" deal, even though they were out of stock on kits (I saved $20 off a MaxxFusion kit). If you look at my previous posts I was VERY opposed to the eGo or anything that didn't resemble a really cigarette - and the bloog seemed to be the best option by far. I don't want to go back to cigarettes, and this thing looks like a more comfortable party item, so... $40 Bloog Fusion Starter Kit (NOT MaxXFusion kit) $20 Bloog MaxXFusion Battery $11 Bloog MaxXFusion Cartomizers Costs $71... very decent deal. It's a smaller-battery automatic e-cig - and seems to be the best by FAR. From my understanding the Bloog Fusion is a run-of-the-mill KR808. The MaxxFusion is a battery that is all the rage as of late, that lasts roughly FOUR times as long. (People say 808s and 510s last for 45 minutes, and the MaxXFusion is about 3 hours). The Bloog MaxXFusion kits are obnoxiously expensive, and fusion/maxxfusion/kr808 are all compatible. The MaxXFusion are also supposedly some of the only automatic batteries that won't set themselves off, and yet don't require very large drags to get them started (also due to the cartomizers). The cartomizers, however, are really where it's at with Bloog. They don't need to be "primed", supposedly give a consistent flavor, and can be opened and refilled (although not advertised that way). It might have been smarter to buy an Joye 510 battery, but (a) it seems to hold a third to a quarter of the charge, ( has no decent "automatic" option, and © can't use the MaxxFuxion cartomizers. Although the Joye 510 would have been compatible with all eGo stuff - the MaxxFuxion seems to own the show in terms of a cigarette-like experience. At the end of the day, with coupons, minus the low resistance cartomizers, this cost me about $125... however look what I got! Three different types of batteries (Standard KR808, MaxxFusion, and eGo), one automatic, one manual, one average black battery. Options to drip, use cartomizers (on supposedly the best system for them), use normal eGo atomizer+cartridge combo. PG and VG liquids Option to vape straight from USB (eGo battery is USB passthrough and works while charging) I'm super excited. Mostly I'm looking forward to reviewing this stuff - I'll be reviewing supposedly the premier e-cigarettes on the market right now in terms of quality and remaining compact. I'll try not to regret not getting two different e-cigs - but getting something that'll do the trick is more important to me.
  13. I went away and then came back halfway through. I want to get two e-cigs. I want something that is big a bulky and I could use at my desk (but maybe not a usb passthrough) that could even plug into the wall. And also something like a 510 (I wouldn't mind bigger than a 510, but DEFINITELY smaller than an eGo). I'm asking what I should get a for a bigger bulkier version?
  14. I'm not terribly interested in getting the eGo, because it's not much like a cigarette. If I want to smoke on the go (as I walk down the street etc), I want something that looks like a cigarette. If I want something big and weird , then I'd rather just have a silver bullet or something similar. So here's what I want: Rechargeable Battery OR Plug-in as long as it's semi-portable (as portable as a beer or two). Gets very hot (because I want to experiment with tinctures... very carefully, maybe i'll post on this later) Easy to refill with my own liquid Atomizer that won't be high maintenance or costly (being a n00b I'm leaving this open ended because I don't know much about this...) Something I'd want to pass around with friends What kind of options am I looking at? I'm a little confused by the numbers system - it's the atomizer/cartridge size, right? SMy understanding is the silver bullet is just a big battery for a Joye 510 (or any 510?). Should I opt for a more durable atomizer? Anyways, what'd be a good combo for something that got nice and hot that's nothing like a cigarette, and something I can carry around and isn't so "weird". I smoke let's say 5 cigarettes a day, so I don't need a super good battery -- especially if I have a portable one, and one I can just use at my desk at home.
