  1. here's a good question to this argument, is someone who has never smoked a day in their lives but has used chew and snuff a smoker? the answer is no, they are a tobacco user. so by that definition vapers are no longer smokers, its no different than using any other form of nicotine replacement other than the fact that it mimics the act of smoking and satiates the hand to mouth need
  2. sigh... make that two more questions... normally i would shy away from adding supplements, but that B12 is tempting, i am low on B12 and fully aware of it, but does anyone know about the absorption of vaping a supplement? i use sublingual B12 personally
  3. one more question before i make an order... PG, VG, or blended? what i have noticed is that yes in fact my throat prefers the VG, if i vape straight PG i almost get the kind of burning sensation one would get from swallowing fresh ground pepper, does that make sense? so im wondering if i should go all VG or if a blend would be a good thing for me
  4. i need to hop in the shower, but i will keep this thread open so i can find it when i get back from work.... thank you so much for the suggestions, as you know the variety there is overwhelming!!! lol
  5. it is scary, one thing about the FDA, they are in the pockets of the big corporations, they refused to allow Stevia to be sold as a sweetener until big companies like coca cola decided to cash in on the fact that more people have grown aware of the dangers in aspartame, which leads me to wonder just how these companies are going to alter and change Stevia into the newest form of chemical sweetener just to deceive those who have turned to Stevia from the other chemicals... long ago i told my daughter, no diet sodas! but now i am seeing that i cant even purchase a package of gum without reading the ingredients, it took me over 30 minutes to find that only one flavor of one brand (Trident Cinnamon) did not contain it. And worse yet, in allowing companies to hide the products in foods by allowing them to change the name to further confuse the public its just wrong.
  6. ok, so ive been sitting here looking over the flavor suggestions, especially since VT store seems to be out of stock of anything i might be interested in at this time... so if you were recommending a flavor to a newbie who has only tried Tennessee cured, chocolate mint, Wisconsin frost (from JC) and black clove from LF , who prefers a sweet vape that leaves a nice after taste, what would you suggest for a first time order from VR?
  7. yes, i have read about aspartame poisoning, in fact i once worked with a woman that i believe died from it, but who could ever prove that her degrading health, her MS, her Bells Pasy, or her rapidly spreading breast cancer could have had anything to do with her addiction to diet coke
  8. ummm... now i cant help but ask this, what is used in e liquids to give off the sweetness? see, dang it, now you got my mind working overtime...
  9. to frolic is one thing, to have your car become a sleigh is another lol... im terrified to drive in it, yes, that coming from someone who lived in wisconsin for ten years... im a big fan of driving directly behind the sanding truck! lol
  10. i know it is beautiful there, i have had the joy of driving through it several times, i think i even stayed in a hotel there once when i was too weary to continue home on one of the many long drives, but wow to the ice and snow in the winter!
  11. "i just cant taste anything anymore" oh crap, you too? heck ive been hoping you might be able to suggest something for me to try lol... ive been switching around flavors and cant seem to taste them anymore either...
  12. actually, in my searching on the web i have found cases of kids being hospitalized from nicotine gum, in one case the kids they were trying to get a buzz, this is not so uncommon as i have heard of kids using nodoze and other products for that very reason... kids are stupid, of course there is concern that a kid might use an e cig, or drink the liquid etc, but the same as with any other nicotine products
  13. that was great, beings that i am in the market for some new flavors this is very helpful, thank you
  14. my family lives in Port Orchard Washington, a bit too far west of you for me to be popping in lol... the only time I have been in your neck of the woods is to drive through on my way to wisconsin, and i dont plan any trips like that if i can avoid it (ex lives in wisconsin and to be honest if i ever go there again i hope it is to spit of his grave... but i digress)
  15. if it helps any im a newbie to the eGo as well, the cone does inhibit the draw, so ive removed mine, turns out the little cap does as well, so i will be buying a drip tip, as for liquid I was a pack a day smoker, i believe im going through about 15 ml a week or so, and will be needing to think in advance about purchasing more juices... cartos, i need to get more of those as well, i think im using about one a week at this rate, i have not begun direct dripping because i am a chicken about killing attys, i am keeping my attys as back up should anything go wrong with my cartos lol i know i will need to think about buying back up devices, and i really want to try the pass through for vaping in the car and at the computer... i hope some of my newbie thoughts might be of some help to you
  16. I cant help but laugh, you being a nurse, I have been a nursing assistant since 1993 and I can say with all honesty that I have been outside in the cold smoking with many a nurse and even respiratory therapists. the health care field is full of smokers, those of us who are all well aware of the dangers of smoking, and we all do cringe when we are trying to help someone with COPD or other lung conditions as we encourage them to quit smoking, and then we head back outside for our nicotine fix. right now im a stealth vaper, i let the people who think i quit think that while my family and friends know that i have my little toy. Even my non smoking sister allows me to vape in her car and she is very against cigarettes (our grandmother died of lung cancer.) My family is just glad that I dont smell like an ashtray and they dont mind the device or the vapor, my mother is a severe asthmatic, just smelling the smoke on my clothing would make her ill. No, we dont know the long term effects yet, but enough time has passed that there was bound to be something the media and FDA could grab a hold of and say "see, we told you they were dangerous"... my only hope is that when the first big media "told you so" comes that it will not involve a child accidentally consuming e liquid or something of that nature.
  17. I just read about that, but I am sure we are all aware that King County has a history of caving to big lobbyists, this comes as no surprise
  18. I am usually very good at researching things on the web. I have looked up things such as injuries from massage or chiropractic care, side effects from antidepressants, adverse reactions to vaccines, rates of malpractice etc. All with interesting success. and yet, I search and search and cannot find one single case of injury or hospitalization from the e cigs. I keep running across the same crap about the FDA warnings and the WHO etc yet no actual evidence of any harm so far. Am I missing something or is there absolutely no evidence of injury or hospitalizations so far from the e cigs? And if that is the case then is the FDA blowing a nice smoke screen in our faces? I have read and re read this forum looking for anything in the health and safety that might actually suggest a potential problem with the use of these devices. I cannot help but wonder, as my cough has changed from a disgusting gooey hack to a soft dry cough in only two weeks, is it possible that vapeing might actually dry up and clear up secretions much like a nebulizer? and yes, I am putting far too much effort into this search, because I really want answers, but there are no answers to be found, other than an 80 success rate at quitting analogs with these devices without the side effects of many of the NRTs.
  19. i am no where near spokane, how about you come visit the portland area
  20. chest pain and skin irritation... the chest pain i can totally see if he is trying to vape as he would normally smoke, especially if he was using a high nic lvl... the skin irritation? is that a reaction to the PG? or did he get some of the juice on his skin, as some of us have done from time to time... and eeeek if you rub your eyes after topping off a carto, as i have discovered. i do remember when i was using the crap from china that came with my 1st e cig it did make me feel ill, so i never use anything from china, i dont trust that they are careful about what goes in it... anyone who has ever tried nic gum will tell you that if you chew it like you would normal gum it will cause chest pains, rapid heart beat, nausea and other side effects, so again i wonder about nic lvl... i guess i personally would find be interested as to what the uncles condition was, if it required any medical intervention etc, or did it end up being simply a case of angina which is commonly associated with stress in even non smokers
  21. i have read that they do not set off smoke alarms, but to be on the safe side blow the vapor out toward the floor or something, it will dissipate long before it reaches the alarm
  22. mine came with one, but admittedly im too lazy to keep taking it off, i use it in my purse though
  23. its alright, you can lead a horse to water... your inlaws must have thought they got a better deal elsewhere, i do hope it works out well for them, perhaps you will have better luck suggesting juice suppliers to them in the future
  24. my son walked in while i was vaping and said "it smells like..." (pause, look of pondering) "do it again" lol... it really doesnt last long in the air
  25. many people just use and reuse them until they die a natural death, and even then some people try to resuscitate them, i hear most often that people will toss them out when they begin to taste burnt
