Well to clarify, atomizers don't hold liquid (unless you are direct dripping.) The cartridge will hold liquid in the filler. A cartomizer is an atomizer and a cartridge combined into one unit. Dripping is forgoing the cartridge and dripping the juice directly into the atomizer. (In this case, you are correct, more than a couple(2-3)of drops and you are in for a mess.) All that said, I agree with Christopher. Cartridges or preferably (for me anyways) dripping is easier initially than cartomizers. They aren't hard, but the learning curve for them is a little bit steeper. If you have both coming, just experiment with what works best for you. Have fun and happy vaping.^^

Make that +2. I will have a hard time going back to standard resistance atomizers until I get a higher voltage device. Using a 1.5 ohm atty on my Riva was like night and day when I started vaping it. (For flavor and TH.) Watch out though, because you will BURN through some juice, and you don't wanna let that thing dry out. I hear they are pretty finicky. (I don't know though, as I am still on #1.)

I am happy to report that I will be breaking even this week. (One month.) This includes standard 510 startup kit (2 battery) and a standard Riva kit (2 battery). I will have about 70mL of juice when this occurs. After this week, I plan on taking the $50/wk that I would have spent on smoking, and investing 1/2 in juice and the other to start saving. (Minus a couple of essentials... Another Riva starter kit for the extra batteries and charger and some more of those boss Cisco 306 LR attys, though I am still on the first one after 10 days.) When I get a good chunk I will show my wife a good time and she'll only have my vaping that "stupid looking thing" to thank. I am with ripple though. If it cost as much, I'd still do it.

Momala67, welcome to the V|T forums. You will find some very helpful folks and a wealth of information available and easily categorized here. If you can't find something, just ask and I am sure someone will help you out. Alright. First things first. (actually second, but who's counting??) Congratulations on making a healthy choice for you and your significant other. (Not that you made the choice for them... You know what I mean.) I am sure you will begin to feel the benefits of not smoking, if you haven't already. I am only 3 weeks analog free and I already feel better than I have in years. It looks to me (after a quick Google search) that you have a V9/E9 type device. This will be the determining factor on what parts you are able to interchange.(9mm thread 2 piece e-cig.) There are places to get replacements or blank cartos online, and probably for less than you are getting them locally. One thing I noticed while researching Smoke51 was the bevy of customer complaints on DOA cartos. I was wondering how youe experience with this has been. (I have never used this device, and am only curious.) As a couple of folks have stated, cartos are refillable, and there are many videos here and on the web as to the procedure.(As well as cleaning/reuse.) If you end up not being happy with the duo kit (for whatever reason) there are many options that I feel several people on the forums would agree are probably more cost effective, and have a much higher reliability rate than most of what we term the "convenience store/mall kiosk" models. These include a 510 device which is a cigarette shaped PV (or the eGo which his more cigar sized, but still utilizes the same 510 threaded atomizers/cartomizers.) Understandably, you have an initial investment in this particular model, and want to get as much value out of it as possible. My concern is, when your batteries crap out on you (all of them do, so nothing against Smoke51) you will not have a backup available, which will increase your chances of going back to those nasty analogs. Folks around here use the motto, "Backups, backups, backups..." Also with the 510 style there are many more manufacturers so with a small amount of research, you should be able to find very good quality at a very affordable price. The world of vaping is still fairly new, and there are many companies out there who will overcharge for a product with grand claims of carto longevity, or battery life. The fact is it takes some legwork on the part of the consumer to ensure that they are pleased and well served by the products they purchase. All that being said, happy vaping, and again, don't be afraid to ask any questions. These really are good folks who want to help.^^

Heya Hurricane. Good to see some more NC vapers on here. Let us know how the Blu cartos perform. I have a buddy with a Blu he buried in the bottom of his electronics drawer. It'd be nice to give him a reason to resurrect it.^^

I have been vaping on my Riva for the past 8 days, and while I cannot do a side by side comparison I can confirm that the Riva battery (non-SE) is in fact 4.2V off the charger and holds 3.7+for several hours of pretty hard vaping. My button light flashes on attaching to the charger, but after 5 or so does not stay on while charging. Also, if I am not mistaken L-F is warrantying the Rivas for 6 months as well, but don't quote me on that. Overall I love this device, and am elated at the price point. My only decision now is whether to get a backup Riva or move right to a higher voltage mod.

I have not had any issues with standard atomizers, but the LR attys get a little warm. Are you keeping the coil moist? Like Sharon said, a dry atty or carto will fry pretty quickly. Other than that, I dunno....

De-wicked/De-bridged attys are your friend. Taste is all around better to me. You seem way handy enough to do this outpatient surgery. Lots of videos here and around the internet to show you how. I quit once I moved to the 306 Low Resistance atty because the flavor seems fine to be with the bridge, and they tend to be more leaky. (I still remove the wick straight away, and don't know why folks use them if they are dripping.) Either way, flooded attys are bad on several levels, so aside from the mega line or a tank you are stuck with 3-4 drops. (It keeps me from vaping my brains out anyways.) I would be dangerous with a tank.

I have started using the Cisco 306 LR and am very happy with them in my Riva. Only for a week so far though so I can't speak for the shelf life.... I absolutely abuse them though and still on the first one. Just blow them out if I wanna change flavors or every couple of days. Good Luck.^^

May not be true for all brands/flavors, but in my limited experience pure PG juices have better TH than pure VG's. (VG for the plumes o' vapor though.) Oh, and gratz on the vapaversary.^^

I am with mcquinn. I am sure this is an interlock circuit to keep you from frying your atty/discharging or damaging your battery. My Riva has a similar function, and I am thankful for it. Otherwise I would just draw vapor until my lungs exploded. Also a good thing if you hit your battery button while in your purse/pocket.

Why on planet earth would this be locked? I don't worry about anyone thinking my pv is anything but what it is, but then again I do not have anything to hide. If I did, I would not vape where anyone who had any authority to search me would be present. Like juliery stated, the police do not need much of an excuse, if any, to hassle you. I always make sure that I hold my e-cig up when cops are around, as I think it looks more suspicious to drop it below eye level quickly when they are passing. But as of yet, I have not had any problems.

Ego Cone Atomizer Or The Cylinder Atomizer Better?
thorne replied to genieangel's topic in New Vapers Forum
I do not use them (dripping for me all the way) but I hear they are similar but just hold more juice. I think they also require a special cart. Hopefully someone with some actual experience will clear this up for you. (Man I am no help at all today... Goin' back to bed ) -
Did You Drop Analog Cold Turkey Or Both Smoke And Vape?
thorne replied to genieangel's topic in New Vapers Forum
Cold turkey for me. 14 days today. (I was ready to quit smoking though.) Everyone is different. I agree with juliery and psychomaster, though. Any fewer analogs = healthier. I know several people who just use PVs when they are in public and can't smoke (bars, restaurants...) Really just depends on what he wants to get out of vaping. I don't see myself going to 0 nic (<3 my 24mg, but who knows?) Lots of folks in the forum vape 0 nic. I am sure they will chime in. Best of luck to the both of you.^^ -
I saw this posted.... Great news. I didn't know what model she was vaping, but agreed, that's how it's done.^^ Edit: I found the clip:

I hope I never use a standard atty again. (Least not till I get a mod....) Cisco LR 306 + Cannon tips ftw.^^

Wow, openminde... You give new credence to the phrase, "Backups, backups, backups." Congratulations on swan diving headlong into vaping. I am sure you will not be disappointed in your purchases. Even if the eGo and the Leo are the same device, you will not need to buy attys or spare batteries for quite some time, and I have heard lots of rave reviews on the tank. Make sure you post any subtle differences in the units. This can give us newer vapers more information on which to base a purchase decision. And no matter how much you spend on hardware and juice, you cannot put a price on your health. Happy vaping.^^

Agreed with AimeeG on the LR atty. I got my first yesterday and almost choked myself the first time I used it... Wasn't expecting all that airflow... (I switched tips at the same time though, so that could have made a difference as well.)

Ooh, I love presents. Whatcha got coming? Stay warm up there... (It's gonna be 60 here today.^^) Mastiffmom's Post Count = 666.... Hurry and post something.

Was wantin' my wifey to try a black tea... She is a black tea fan irl, but doesn't vape. I'll send you a 5ml USA Mix 24 mg for it. And gratz on the smoke free tip.^^

I finally got my Riva in the mail today. Ordered Thursday afternoon and arrived USPS today. I dunno why everyone was saying that Liberty-Flights had long ship times. Aside from my impatience, I was fairly impressed. (Especially for the price.) Anyways, using Cisco 306 LR with 70/30 PG/VG and it's blowing plumes that put a big toothy Kool-Aid grin on my face. I will most likely have nic poisoning by morning, so it's been nice knowing you all.^^

Heyas man I thought you had that thing rigged to roll??? The duct tape not workin? Edit: Oh, nvm... I didn't see the time. Congrats.^^

Tried everything.... Twice. Started vaping 9 days ago and haven't had 1 craving for an analog since. I know it's still early, but I consider PVs a great solution for many. Unless of course, you are a government legislating (and more importantly taxing) morality...
