Great Tip! Oh just talk to your hubby about it. You just might be able to finagle him into thinking it was his idea! LOL

Good for you! It must be nice to be so creative and willing to tackle something like this.

What kind of taste are you looking for? I know you said an all day vape, but I can vape all day on a fruity flavor and some are looking for a tobacco taste.

I have checked into cleaning a Tank atty since I am a new owner. This is what I have come up with. Using tap water is not a good idea, something about the minerals in the tap water. Using alcohol is a better idea, let it soak for 15 minutes, blow it out and let it sit for 48 hours. Since the tank atty is enclosed the air flow is restricted and the wick will take longer to dry. If you use pg instead of alcohol and boil the atty in the pg using the double boiler method you can use the atty right afterwards. No drying out time. I am waiting for the second tank atty to come in and I am going to try the pg method. I believe that regular maintenance if any item will prolong the life.

Yep, I don't think I have to worry about running out of anything and I have back ups for my back ups. LOL @ Tags, I love your pic, I'm glad your using it!

Thanks DJ, I have the ego Tank and I am loving the not having to drip and fill every few minutes. I am finding that there is a honeymoon phase then working the kinks out. I but in a request for a notification when the MAP's are in stock. Hum, something to seriously think about.

Thinking About Taking The "plunge"...
Sharon replied to Alexandria182002's topic in New Vapers Forum
Welcome to VT Forum! I don't have any first had knowledge regarding the Riva, but the folks who have recommended that PV brand, are reputable vapers as far as I am concerned. I do use Vapor Renu for e liquid, aka juice, and I can say that you can't beat their price for juice. Make sure to shake your juice real good before using it. This goes for any brand you buy. I don't recommend you buy anything from the carts in the malls. They are over priced and the products are crap. To put it simply. It might take you a little time to find a juice flavor that you like. So buy a small amount if you can, just so you can see if you like it. The initial cost is a little high, but if you hold fast and don't get caught up in all the posts you read about the stuff that other people have and like, you can keep your cost down. I, on the other hand, have not been able to contain myself and have spent somewhere around $700 over the last 4 months. I did not start off with the great advise and input that your getting from the experts here on VT. I bought two off the wall e cigs before finding VT. That was $200 down the drain, but I am on the right path now and would be doing a lot better if I could put my bank card in a container of water and freeze it. Then if I get weak and want to try another juice or buy a bigger or better battery, atty, or cart, I would have to defrost my bank card first and hopefully talk myself out of it before I am able to defrost it. LOL If you can find the funds to get you started, you will be saving money in the long run and you will find that your health will improve and (I believe) you will truly enjoy vaping over smoking 100%. Good Luck making your decision. -
Thanks Brian! How do you clean the MAP Tank?

Hi Erika, Tornado and eGo are the same, both are made my Joye and they both have the 510 threads. I got my tank atty and carts last Friday. I did have a burnt taste at first, but I found out how to remove the plastic piece that is punched out when the atty pierces that cart. Once I removed that piece I got a much better flow of juice in the wick. Also, I found that after I blow out the juice in the atty, (when changing juices or before going to bed) if I take my syringe and drip one or two drops into the wick, I don't get that burnt taste. Also, if you fill the tank to high, it doesn't allow for air so the juice flows. And, it you are using a juice with a vg % highter than 20%, it is two thick and that will prevent the atty from getting wicked properly. I also find that if I hold my PV in a more strait out (don't know how else to say it!) position, maybe tilted down slightly, I get a better vape. The carts are made of a thin hard plastic. I read that they last about a week. I think that after taking the top off and on the plastic can chip or the wear and tear can cause the cart to leak. On one of my new carts, when I popped the top off I found that the rim was already chipped, so I just threw it away. Again the plastic is thin and I'm sure during the manufacture these things happen. Out of ten carts I checked this had happen to only one, so in my books, it not a big deal. Now if it had been more than just one, I would have contacted the vendor and asked for a replacement cart. As I said, I have only been using the tank since last Friday, that is all I have been using. I vape a lot if I'm home and my hand and mouth is free. I'd say that I have to fill the cart about 4 or 5 times a day. I have also noticed that I am using less juice than I did when I was using cartos. I placed an order for another tank atty Sunday. I understand it is a good idea to clean out your tank atty once a week and you have to allow 48 hours for the wick to dry completely. Since the air flow is restricted, it does take longer for it to dry out. As far as cleaning the atty, I have read that using everclear and allowing it to soak for 15 minutes will clean it out. I also read that you can use pure PG instead of everclear and heat the PG with the atty using the double boiler method. As soon as my second atty comes in, I will give cleaning the first atty a go. Good luck with deciding on whether or not to get a new toy.

How long will the MAP Tank last before you have to replace it? How do you clean it or do you have to?
-
I got a twit today from TW at 11:06 AM "Mr. Wicked: This is a general Fda policy stop all Shipments...Just happens to be ours they are stopping...". I flipped because I am waiting for an order I placed Sunday. I called TW and Naomi told me that this has been an ongoing issue and it is not going to effect their shipping. I am so confused as to why they sent this twit!

I know huh, I get so exited every time the mailman leaves a package!!!!! I just wished I lived closer to a e cig store! Please let me know how your shopping trip goes. Mary, I dropped my eGo in the toilet (were not going into an explanation), I drove right in after it. Dried off the outside of the battery, replaced the carto, worked like a charm, thank goodness! Of course, I sincerely hope that doesn't happen again! Get ready to be really excited! There is a VapeFest in Philly next month. http://www.vapefest.com Let me know after you recover! hahahaha

Welcome Deb, You can't go wrong with the eGo ecig. The manual battery is sealed off so you don't have to worry about flooding out the battery. Manual battery is the best way to go. Vapor Talk Store had an awesome sale on an eGo starter kit with 4 - 650 mah batteries. Usually you get two batteries in the starter kit. Check with Chris at the Store to see if he has any of the special eGo starter kit still available. He was selling them for only $55. People were buying them up like crazy, me included. Batteries do die eventually. The life time will depend on how much you are vaping. I am sure someone will be able to give you a better idea. Welcome again.

Hey Mary, You can clean your atty's by soaking them in everclear for 15 mins. Blowing them out and letting them sit overnight. Are you using the 650 mah battery? Because the tank atty is large and the tank cart has a taper tip. Quite long once you add them all together. The tank will allow you to vape a long time between filling. You can fill an empty cart and cap it off. Bring several filled with you and that way you will not have to bring a lot of juice with you. If the tank is too long, you can prefill cartos and cap them off. You will just need to bring more with you and keep several back up filled cartos in your uniform so you can change them out when you run out. I wouldn't suggest you invest in a smaller PV unless you absolutely have to. You can check out the small batteries when you go to Good Prophets this weekend. I have several cartos that I have filled and capped off. As long as they are capped, nothing will go bad. Even if they are not capped off the only thing I believe would happen bad is that they will dry out. Now that is bad!

Oh, I get it now. I was missing the part where you link the two ends together, o ring. I am slow, but I usually get it at some point. Thanks Lovie.
-
Lovie, I'm missing it. Please explain slowly!!! It takes me a little while to catch on. LOL

Happy Valentine's Day to you too Lovie. Is't life good when you have found something new, that you enjoy, to replace the harmful habits. It just seems to spill over into every area of your life. Happy vaping and pet you kitties for me.

I am so sorry to hear this. I hope it stops soon.

YEARS????????????? WT?

Not yet, I still need to get the pg. In the big town of Shrewsbury, PA the local pharmacies do not carry pg. I'm going to have to make a trip to York, PA. One of the down falls of living in a small, very small town. LOL

Nanna, thats a great idea. This way you can help yourself and fellow vapors. Your a smart cookie. How is your hubby doing in the vaping department and your new job. Take care!

But Tags, I thought you were using the stuff from your pillow that Hank recommended. LOL Hank, check your personal messages. I have tried the polyfill and did not like it. I have also used the blue stuff. My personal favorite is the fluval from the pet store. I haven't tried the fluval 2 yet. I find that if I pull the fluval a little, roll it up and cut to fit my cart, I get a much better fill and vape.

From what I understand VG will give you more vapor, but will cut down on the taste of the juice. If you are using cart/carto/tank, you don't want a high VG because it is too thick. I have ordered from Vapor Renu and I went with their suggested blend of VG/PG and I got an extra shot of flavor (just because my belief system thinks that if one is good, two is even better. LOL). My experience with Vapor Renu is to make sure you shake up the bottle really, really good before use. You can't beat their price on juice and the fact that you have lots of options. As of today, my favorite juices have come from VT Store, Avejuice, and Mad vapors. I want to start mixing my own juice, but I went crazy buying all kinds of stuff. when I first started vaping, before I spent some time doing research. I don't want a repeat performance, so I am going to wait a little while and learn as much as I can. So far I found out that I can get some really good flavoring and VG from my local cake making supply store. I have already purchased a large bottle of liquid nic and I have used the juice calculator (I sent that to you the other day) to mix some zero juices I bought previously. Good luck!

Hey Tags, I use Gentian Violet when I get Canker sores. It's an old time remedy. Just ask for it at you local drug store, it comes in a small bottle. Use a q-tip and put a little on the end, apply to your canker sore. You just have to be very careful not to put too much on the q-tip, a little goes a long way and the purple color has to wear off, so you don't want to get more than you need in your mouth or on anything else. Good luck.
