  1. Beans, Is Ginger OK? I do understand, we have to take care of our four legged babies! I made the mistake of vaping on an older box mod. It was for only 4 hours, but the difference was amazing. The wheels started turning (truthfully the wheels never turn off) and the search began. I had to have a Mod!!!!! What I really want and what I really shouldn't spend, were two worlds apart. But, I couldn't stop my brain from saying "I have to have a Mod". I finally accepted the fact that a VV is just not possible right now. I got the BombShell for $50 (in my sick little brain, I could justify $50), but of course I had to get two batteries and I charger. I have just chosen to ignore he cost of the batteries and charger. Oh, I'll move the figures around with my monthly budget (What is a monthly budget?) and make it all work out. Because, A MOD IS COMING TO MY FRONT DOOR any day now. Oh the world is good today!
  2. Hey Beans, I just got the newsletter yesterday about the release of the E Power eGo. It looks like a nice unit. Only a tad bit bigger than the 1000mah battery and the batteries come out and you recharge them with a charging unit. I did notice that they are not selling the replacement battery unit, only the kit. I'm not interested in spending any more money on a complete kit. I would be willing to buy the battery unit and separate battery to give it a try. I just broke down yesterday an ordered a Fuchsia Bombshell Mod from hotvapes.net. I am really looking for a VV Mod that is small in size but has a battery life longer than 2-4 hours. What is your take on the E-Power eGo?
  3. Dave, I remove the plastic piece from the cart top too. I don't understand why you are having such a difficult time with your tank leaking. My juice is an 80/20 mix, I lay it down on its side when I am not using it (I actually prefer to lay it on its side) and the only problem I have regarding leaking is the darn condensation build up in the mouth piece end and around the outside of the cart that is in the atty. When I vape non-stop, I have seen some small amount of condensation around the top of the atty. I sure hope you figure that out and I also hope I never have that problem. Knock on wood! LOL
  4. You Go Girl! Looking forward to your review!
  5. Erika, I just got off the stick and ordered the BombShell http://shop.hotvapes.com/BombShell-Standalone-BmbShl.htm in Fuchsia. They don't have any in stock, but Tim from Hot Vapes has a few slightly imperfect ones (slight water mark on the top around the connector port) that he is selling for $50. I can live with that! I really want a VV but I am going to wait until the makers figure out a way to make them smaller and the price goes down some.
  6. Erika, I kept going back and forth over the LS-VC for days. The thing I keep coming back to was the short battery life. It had everything else I wanted, small and VV, but the battery life killed it for me. Good luck, I know that it is an expensive step in vaping and adding the VV to the mod wish list just makes it even harder!
  7. Hey Birdie, I know some of the questions we talked about through PM. The 30% VG might be your problem. Since wicking is a problem with the Tank, you really need a very thin e-liquid. You can add straight PG or distilled water to your current juice, but that will water down your flavor, not to mention your nic strength. This is a little tip someone shared with me recently and I have been having success using it so far. Slowly start drawing on your cart, for a second or two, before turning on your battery. Then continue to draw for a second or two once you release the battery button. He said that the drawing in, without the battery on, pulls juice to the wick so that it is well wicked before the atty turns on preventing the dry burn (burnt taste). And the continuing to craw in after the battery is off helps to keep the wick wet between vaping. Like I said, I have been doing this since last Friday and it does help with the wicking issue. I blow through the top of the atty (the other end). Hope this helps you.
  8. Usually the vendor who sells a product that requires filling with a syringe or special filling devise, will sell them. I think you can buy a syringe and 18 gauge needle at the local pharmacy. Its been a while since I had to by one at the pharmacy and I don't know if they still sell them out right. I use to use them to inject seasoning into chicken before they came out with a special injection devise made for seasoning meats.
  9. Fran, How did you find a second-hand mod? I have been searching for a second hand units. I sure hope your new toy comes in soon. I know how it is when you are patiently (not) waiting!
  10. The low resistant tank atty's are still on sale for $9.99 at Good Prophets. The LR atty will give you a much better vapor, and better taste. The TH is also better. You can try to up your nic level and see if that helps. I have gotten a few tank attys from Liberty-Flights. Make sure and click on the %20 Discount button on the top left side of the website. They also have awesome customer service. One of my attys died before the 28 day warranty, I emailed them and within 5 days I had a new atty at my door. Good luck!
  11. You can also go to that persons profile and go down to the post tab, it will show the last several posts that person made. Hopefully he doesn't post a lot. You can also do the same on your profile page. There is a tab for Topic and Post.

    Map Tank

Yepers, the same thing happens with the clearomizers and the fluxomizers. Those little wicks need to stay completely saturated for optimal performance.
  13. Chris was playing an April's fool joke on us. It got all of us by surprise! Gotta love Chris, his mind is always working overtime!
  14. Hi fellow resident of PA, welcome to the forum. Did you blow out the primer that is in the atty when you first get one? I'm not sure what the primer is. I am thinking it might be pg. What ever it is, blow it out. When you first use a cart and puncture the top. Take the cart back out and remove the top piece. Now take a pair of tweezers or needle nose pliers and twist off the plastic tab, put the top back on the cart and put it back in the atty. Make sure it is well seated in the atty. When using the tank for the first time, let it sit for a minute or two in order to allow the wick to get completely wet. When you are getting a burnt taste from the get go either the wick is not significantly wet or you are using a juice that is too thick and the juice can not flow into the atty. I have to use thin juice in a tank atty. What I do for preventive maintenance: every few days I blow out the atty into a paper towel. I blow until no more juice comes out. Then I take straight pg, pour a little into the top of the atty and blow it through. Repeat this until the pg comes out clean. Blow it out real good, shake it out and then wipe out the connection end to get all the pg off. Now you age good to go. You can boil the tank atty, but you have to do the double boil method, and the boiling water will remove the rubber coating from the atty exterior. It doesn't harm the atty, it just won't look the same. Afterwards you have to make sure you get as much of the water out of the atty and then let it air dry for 48 hours. The natural air flow is restricted so it takes longer to dry out completely. Another way to clean out the atty if it is gunked up is to let it sit in ever clear for 15 to 30 minutes, swirling it around to get the ever clear to agitate in the atty. After the ever clear bath, rinse out with very hot water real good, blow it out and allow to dry for 48 hours. If I do preventive maintenance and don't use thick juice, dark juice, or extremely sweet juice, I don't have to give the atty a bath in ever clear or boiling water. I love my tank even with its "not so good" points. The weak flavor and the condensation build up in the mouth piece and around the cart in the atty. For the condensation build up in the mouth piece, I remove the two little pieces on the top of the mouth piece. I have never gotten juice in my mouth either. For the condensation build up on the outside of the cart piece that is down in the atty, I take it out every so often and wipe it off and replace it. Good luck and I hope this helps and you enjoy your tank as much as I have!
  15. Amaranth, I have found that the tank atty does need some regular maintenance. First let me ask you about the juice you are using in the atty. Is your juice thin or is it thick? The thin e-liquid is what you need to be using. I know that you mentioned that your juices starts off clear but then turns dark and burnt tasting. At least once a week or more I blow my atty out. Blow from the top end and keep blowing until all the juice is out. With a paper towel, wipe the atty end clean. If your tank atty is gunked up that bad you may have to try and clean it out with everclear, by letting it soak for 15 to 30 minutes. I have even heard of soaking atty's in coke. The acid in coke brakes down the caked on funk. Which ever one you choose to soak the atty in, you are going to have to rinse it out real good with HOT water. Blow it out real good and let it air dry for at least 48 hours. (this is where having back ups comes in real handy). The tank atty does not get a natural air flow, so allowing it to dry out for 48 hours is important. The first time you go to use the atty, you will need to let it sit for a little while before using, to allow the wick to get wet. If you are anything like me, waiting is a problem. To help with my problem, I drop one drop of juice on the wick before inserting the cart. Once you get the atty cleaned out and back to normal, you may want to do some preventive cleaning. To help prevent juice build up, try the following. About every three days blow out the atty until all the juice comes out. Take straight PG and pour a little in the top of the atty. Blow it out. Do this a few times, until the PG coming out is clear. Wipe off the atty. The best part is that you do not have to wait to let the atty dry out. When you use PG to clean it out, you can use it right away. Personally I have found that juice with a higher PG mix works best in the tank. If I use a liquid with a VG mix higher than 30%, I have problems. Also, if I use juice that is dark in color, I have to clean my atty more frequently. Let me know how you make out.
  16. Who sells the GGTS and what does GGTS stand for????????? Girlfriend we have to stay in touch!!!!
  17. Me too Fran! I just can't seem to get the word that the MAP Tanks are in, before they are back out again. Whats up with that? I've got to keep looking for the very best vaping experience. You'll never know unless you try! My latest search is for a VV Mod that doesn't look like I'm vaping from a flashlight or a six inch plumbing pipe. LOL The problem is the battery life. If it's small enough for my liking, the battery life sucks. Oh well, it is a hobby too.
  18. Got my Fluxomizer from Gotvapapes yesterday. I watched two videos on how to fill and clean before I started using it. One video suggested fluffing the wicks before first using. I don't suggested this as I damaged the wicking trying to fluff them. There was a difference in the appearance of wicking on the video from the wicking that came in my Fluxomizers. The wicking shown in the video is in a blow shape. The wicking that came in mine is just one piece that is threaded threw the coils, one time, and hands down both sides of the tubbing. Much less wick in the newer model. I don't know if the wick is made out of a different type of material, but when I took my tweezers (exact same kind used in the video) and fluffed as shown, the tweezers cut the wick. One down, four more to go!!!!! Got the second one out and proceeded to fill. Filling required removing the black rubber tip from the top, the clear rubber o ring, then a clear rubber cap that sits above the coils and wicking. With the box of Fluxomizers you get a flexible filling piece that will fit on a typical syringe. I bought the optional 15ml filling bottle that comes with a stainless steel blunt needle that fits on the special bottle cap for the 15ml bottle. You also get a special stopper that will seal the bottle cap when you take off the needle. These way you can store your juice in the 15ml bottle, and just take off the stopper, pop on the filling needle, and refill your Flux. You also get a black rubber mouth tip with the Flux's. I suggest using your own drip tip or just use the black rubber top that came on the Flux. I bought the 2.4 - 2.6 ohm Fluxomizers. The vapor was amazing and the flavor was very clean. I never get much of a TH because I only use 12 - 14 mg nic. I also think the flavor was just a little to strong for me. It almost tasted like I was drinking the juice. My daughter, who was sitting at the kitchen table with me, said she could taste the juice. She said that this was the first time she could actually taste my vapor. All the other times she just smelled the juice. The wicking was good must of the time. I did have to tip the Flux for a second every now and then. When the juice got about 1/3 - 1/4 down, I did start getting a burn taste more frequently. The one fill lasted me for 4 hours. I placed another order for the 2.6 - 2.8 Fluxomizers and I am also trying the 510 Lucid Clear Carts 1.4ml 5 pak.
  19. Thanks Crossbar, I'm stoked! Looking forward to spending some quality time with my girl Julie vaping and meet all ya'll wonderful folks from the Windy City. I'm just praying that all the stars line up and the moon is in the right position to make this happen! LOL
  20. Me too, but I already feel like I know you from this forum and the video of the March 12th WCV Meet.
  21. Thanks for the tips Brian! I took the flat piece out first, but I was afraid to take the top piece off the mouth piece. But after getting frustrated and using way too many paper towels, it threw caution to the wind and took it off. Much better!!! I lay my battery on its side when I am using the tank atty. I find its better than letting it sit straight up. Knock on wood, but I haven't had any problems with the juice getting into the mouth piece.
  22. Yep Dave, Typical story in the life and times of vaping (except for the winning a eGo T-tank kit)!!!!
  23. How the hell does that happen? And Jeff, how the hell do you always manage to get this stuff??????????
  24. Hey Uma, I do the same thing with the Borax. I get it from the Pharmacy, a small bottle goes a long way. Sprinkle around the outside of my house, no bugs. The neighbors who don't ask me about it, just think I'm crazy. Maybe this think its some kind of Voodoo, since I'm from New Orleans. LOL I also put a little bit in coke caps and hide them in cabinets and closets. I just have to make sure the cat and dog can't get to it.
