LOL. Oh Sharon, how frudtrating! Well, MY issue is that my ego tank is here and I love it EXCEPT when the darn thing leaks. I'm reading and trying to figure it out but I haven't pinpointed anything yet. Sigh.

This tickles me to no end.

You just made my day!!!!

I have to laugh at myself. I am such a NOOB that the thought of mixing a little bit of this with a little bit of that didn't even OCCUR to me until I say - I think - ripple's post about it yesterday, and now yours. My dears, you are creating a veritable Frankenstein monster in me here!! LOL (scuttles off to her tiny but enticing laBORatory).

Erika, I do what Bean does - I just blow them out and set them upside down on a paper towel overnight. It's my night-night ritual and incloudes putting the dogs out ONE MORE TIME, brushing my teeth, etc. LOL

Cannot Seem To Find Any Evidence Of Health Danger
Nanna replied to easilyamused's topic in Vaping Health & Safety
Actually, I am a nurse, and I haven't found any either BUT I have to say that these things are still so relatively new that there really hasn't been enough time for any quality studies. I know that there was a post earlier about a Boston-area doctor wanting to conduct a study - it was posted here on the forum. And, like any NRT, there are dangers of overdosing on nicotine. The warnings on a patch or gum will tell you that much. I really wonder if the whole FDA thing doesn't boil down to a desire for uniformity and monitoring. Let's be honest here, kids (at the risk of becoming suddenly and wildly unpopular). Any ding dong and/or their brother could put up a slick web site and offer to sell e-juice with God knows what in the ingredients. In its infancy, the vaping community is still relatively small and well connected here on the web, so we have been lucky to have suppliers that we can review and trust. As the word spreads, and more people are interested, the nasties come out of the woodwork. The problem is that regulation would place an enormous burden on the little guy supplier to be able to comply with all the i-dotting and t-crossing, and suplly would be taken over by big companies. Which means, we wouldn't be able to get the amazing service and quality we have all come to expect from the vendors we love and trust and respect. What's the solution? I don't know. Be vocal, be active. Collect and DOCUMENT evidence, experience and information. SUPPORT your favorite vendors so that they can GET big enough to hopefully weather any changes that come our way. And, by the way, what do I know, really? If I had a crystal ball... -
Congrats! I got the eGo first thing out as well, and just bought a tank so I could go longer without having to stop and drip. At home, when I'm sitting around, I drip. To me, adding those drips is kind of like the whole ritual of getting out the lighter and lighting up, kind of soothing and ritualistic. So far, as a newbie, I have bought my juices from www.tasyvapor.us and I like them a lot - especially the Atomic Cinnacide. Other flavors were so mild that at first I thought, what the heck? But then I realized (from reading here) that my taste buds are probably DEAD from smoking for 35 years, so I'm hoping that comes back. I know Tasty Vapor allows you the option of choosing your own nicotine strength - I am still at 24 mg right now because I smoked a pack a day and I reeeeaaallllyyy did not want to smoke again. I will tell you that I got my juice on a Friday night and played with it a little, ran out of cigarettes that night, and have not had one since. Have had a few cravings since then but just pulled long and hard on my eGo and, once I got my nicotine fix, realized that vaping tastes a thousand times better than cigarettes ever did. Havn't picked up a cigarette since!

Very nice! And kudos to YOU for spreading GOOD news.

Really? A Little Turn On A Carto Will Help?
Nanna replied to AimeeG's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Good tips, Brian, thanks. Trying to remember if learning to smoke cigarettes required a learning curve. Other than not puking, of course. -
Certainly, chest pain can be a result of nicotine overdose. They even warn you about that with nicotine patches and gum. Or, for that matter, smoking. Does anyone remember when we were kids and started smoking and got "smoke sick"? Yuck - after all these years, I still remember that feeling. But to blame it on "e-cigarettes are bad" is irresponsible, in my opinion. And I'm a nurse. The skin irritation - wow. Who knows? A PG sensitivity perhaps? Skin irritation generally comes, as others have said, from direct contact. This is frustrating. I'm all for monitoring and all that but come on. How is VAPING dangerous while all the other nicotine replacement products laudable?

Thanks for all the replies! Turns out I wasn't getting them full enough, but I took everyone's info and learned how to spin the cartos and get more into them and voila! Happy vaping! I drip at home too but I wanted something to take me when I was in the car, etc. This is doing better.

So, after a week of happily vaping mostly direct dripping, I got some cartomizers because I have a long-ish drive to work and am not nearly coordinated enough to drip and drive. They came Friday night, I loaded them up yesterday morning via Chris' video, and when I vape on them it's like vaping air. Very little flavor or vapor production compared to dripping. I tried three different liquids (all 70/30 PG/VG mix, in 3 different cartos. It LOOKS pretty full - like a slushie. I tried bottom filling. I am thinking perhaps that I just spoiled myself by direct dripping right out of the box? Also, perhaps, I could just fill up some regular old cleaned out carts I got with my starter kit and that would get me to work but still get me more flavor/vapor? Any ideas here?

Me too for the eGo. Luckily, after doing some research here the eGo was my first buy, but I have certainly heard of a lot of disappointing experiences from the store bought PV's. I would recommend starting out with an eGo kit and a couple different choices of liquids. Others here can point you to their favorites. The reason I mention it is because I got the tobacco flavored ones (methold, at that) thinking it would be closest to the light menthol cigarettes I smoked, and I hated it. Once I switched to flavored ones (Atomic Cinnacide and currently German Chocolate Cake are my faves), I LOVE vaping and wouldn't light up a nasty old analog on a bet. Look for sampler size bottles and see what you come up with - that makes it cheaper to start out with.
-
Yay for you!! I know how excited you are - it blows my mind that quitting could be this easy and painless after all the times I tried to quit and it SUCKED. Try the Mentha on the Vapor Talk store. I am not a big fan of throat hit but I have read people saying that even people who did not smoke menthols got the throat hit they needed from menthol flavored stuff. And the Mentha on this store gets really good reviews.

I would say 24 hours or at least overnight.

Hi Dreken, I buy a lot from Cignot and they have been exceptionally good for me. Great at fast shipping, quality, and especially good at communicating. Their 510's are all Joye - honestly, if you email them they will email you back quick and in a hurry. I started out with an eGo kit, so I had to eGo's and I would charge them up and take them with me when I left home for the day, like for work, etc. Never went through a whole battery yet on one, and I am like you - vape on breaks, etc. I JUST bought carts - they just came last night so I'm not so sure on how they work right now, but lots of other new people can help.

Oh Sharon, reading your post made me laugh BECAUSE I suffered with migraines horribly when I was in my late 20's and early 30's. Conicidentally, I was also in a very bad and abusive marriage at the time. I did get fivorced, and didn't realize until a long time afterward that after the divorce, no more migraines! My beloved husband now suffers with migraines. Not as often as he has in the past but still occasionally, so I know they are no fun. There are so many inidividualized triggers!Wishing you all the best in figuring this out, Aimee.

Did You Drop Analog Cold Turkey Or Both Smoke And Vape?
Nanna replied to genieangel's topic in New Vapers Forum
Genie, I got my first eGo kit two weeks ago tonight, and it came with some prefilled stuff that hurt my throat and tasted terrible. Then 1 week ago tonight, the yummy juices I had ordered arrived just as I was leaving for work. I played around with it at work while continuing to smoke, and then I ran out of regular cigarettes. I have never bought another pack or smoked another regular cigarette since. I WAS ready. I really wanted to quit since my husband had successfully quit on Chantix and I knew that me still smoking was unfair to him. But truly, I don't even want another cigarette. I love the taste of vaping. I love not stinking. I love not having to go outside when it's cold. I love the toys. I never felt that way about smoking. -
My co-worker always asks me to vape my Atomic Cinnacide when I'm with her and then rhapsodizes about the smell.
-
Huh. I even hear crackling with direct dripping. I thought it was supposed to do that? Seems to work OK.
-
LOL I have to laugh. As another new vaper, I can totally relate, spending a lot of time here, looking at new stuff. I have a Joye eGo too, and I love it. I am so glad it was my first purchase. It just feels so good to not have to smoke anymore! Since my e-juice arrived last Friday, I have had a few "bored" moments of thinking "I want a cigarette" and then, thought, "Noooooo, my e-cig tastes a thousand times better." Vape a few minutes and I am perfectly content!
-
Blech. There is a LOT of what we call "the crud" going around respiratory wise, that's for sure. When I got my eGo at first, I got some straight PG juice that was really harsh and made my throat hurt. I am not vaping a 70/30 PG/VG mix - not a menthol flavor - "dessert" flavors, and I don't have that anymore. But it is a GOOD thing if your liungs start healing and clearing out that mucus. (Says the nurse)
-
LOL. Love it! But I agree. She should have busted out the PV earlier, taken a nice long leisurely hit on it and blown the vapor in his face and said, "Whaddya make of THIS, big fella?"
