For me this decision was made easier by some recent business trips. While walking the streets of NYC the stop, drip drip drip method just doesn't work. Before that I was rocking with the ego tanks, but as of late I have been having more and more leakage and could see the very large increase in the amount of juice I was going through...which lead me to the decision to go with a bottom fed mod. AND if I was going to go that route, well I should try a variable voltage as well to experiment with a range of volts to see just where I really liked vaping. All of this, with a desire to have something very nice as a treat lead me to the Ali'i! Check it out here Not the easiest to get and even once ordered it takes weeks to arrive, but I need something I can take with me on my business trips and my long road trips that I can vape consistently and not be tempted to fall off the wagon.

Glad you are liking the tank Hank! (could not resist that one). They have there quirks but they work well more often then not - happy vaping!

So Christopher, can you be more specific please !!

It gives a whole new meaning to sharing the love when you pass along vaping to others who have struggled with analogs for so long. Good call Ericka! PS - a total +1 for that one!

Well I think your set for answers, but rest assured its common to get some juice droppings into the battery, but as Sharon points out as long as its a manual battery your all good. I clean the build up out each time before connecting to the charger or changing atty's.

Thanks, I went with a combo I have yet to see, Yellowheart spine/top/bottom and Bloodwood body. I also decided to go ahead and get the VV and give it a go! Trying not to think about it toooo much since I know it will be 4 to 5 weeks, that puts me at late March. But I know its just a matter of time before I start ordering the batteries, chargers, attys etc.

So easilyamused, Sharon and I all joined within 3 days of each other... What do we know, heck we aren't even one month yet...hehe

So....its been a couple of days now, how is the love affair with the Ali'i going?? I am more curious then ever since I took the plunge last night and got in when the ordering opened - first try and I scored! Now the wait begins.
-
So being the curious one that I am I cannot help but wonder something. Obviously many of you have been here at the VT forum for sometime. I am wondering if y'all are seeing an increase in the traffic and amount of new members. Obviously there are always new members, but I am wondering are you seeing the volume of new members increasing more and more each day, week, month? I know that I am constantly getting asked about my eGo when I take it out in public and people always say I have been hearing about e-cig's more and more and am getting curious. I am wondering what you have been seeing here trend-wise. Just curious!

So I arrived in New York today and I am sitting in my non-smoking hotel room and I am enjoying vaping with the confidence that I am not going to get tagged with a 250 fee for smoking in the room. But in does make me wonder has anyone had any hotel room issues? I can't imagine how but figured I would throw it out there and ask! Cause it's pretty cold outside and I am toasty warm! Oh yeah, I finally figured out the dripping thing - turns out I was doing it right all along but the first Atty I opened has the wick very compressed so it was burning all along which explains why I didn't enjoy dripping!

Glad to hear you like DSO. I Have know rob the keyboard player for more than 20 years it was great to see hime last night and go have a few drinks after the show with him. It should help you understand my forum name ! Okay sorry don't mean to get off topic here.

I noticed that right away and I did remove it after the tank emptied the first time. Never thought to share that info, my bad. After about 2 weeks with the tanks I have begun to have some occasion leakage so I am beginning to think that might be about the life span of the tank. Also last night I did lose the mouthpiece tip on one of them.

Part of the obsession - I have done all that! I am ready right now I guess my challenge is the Friday 8 pm thing, I guess the wife is just gonna have to accept that we can't head down to our local pub right away on a Friday night! I am pretty sure I was to go yellow heart spine with he bloodwood body and I might go ahead with VV. What do you mave Nana?

I have to tell you Dose I am a tad pevved at you! Every since I read this thread and started doing the research on this I have been obsessed by the thing. I am telling you its making me crazy!! I have to ask - how did you manage to land one, I have been reading the hundreds of pages and what is still not clear to me is how you know when ordering is going to open? I fully get that when it does the window can be just minutes before its sold out. I am unclear as to how you know in advance (or do you not know) when that window opens. Glad to hear your enjoying it so much and its living up to your expectations.

Nope, not from me. I personally agree with you. But I do take exception with government action that lacks foundational basis. If the position they were taking were to say a temporary ban while we examine this issue to determine the correct answer I would have no issue with it. But to ask the Dept. of Transportation to issue a ban based on existing smoking laws is a reach and a knee jerk reaction rather than a thoughtful one. I am going to have to disagree with you big guy (doesn't take long for us noobs to spread our wings does it! ) Lautenberg just happens to be from NJ. Most of the major pharmas are Headquartered in Northern Jersey or NY. The Pharma cos have got to be getting very concerned about the rapid increase in vaping as a potential profit hit to their ineffective recurring profit streams from Chantix, the patches and the gums. Add to that the successful blocking of the FDA and they have to be getting concerned and speaking through their lobbyists to the lawmakers. While it is anecdotal of course, just last night I went to see a band play locally. (Dark Star Orchestra for anyone wondering - great show) anyway, upon entry you had to empty your pockets and get patted down. The dude saw my eGO and asked - hey is that one of those e-cigs. I told him yes. He said hes really thinking about one and that it's okay to use it inside the venue which is non-smoking. Just the same I mostly stepped outside to the smoker patio to use it (okay I did take a few scattered hits inside - but I had the ok to do so) and let me tell you at least 15 people asked me about it, wanted to understand it and have been really thinking about it but where not sure if they should believe it. I personally couldn't believe how many questions I got about and the number of people who asked. I have no doubt in my mind that the usage of e-cigs is taking off at this point - not that I have to tell you. I am sure you see the growth here. This has to be of great concern to the pharma and tobacco companies. I would be shocked if they were not working behind the curtains to raise doubt about the safety of vaping, and working to get lawmakers to extend smoking laws to e-cigs in as many cases as possible. With hundreds of millions of dollars at stake to big pharma I have little doubt that they are indeed working very hard behind the scenes to quickly extend as many bans as possible. But of course I have no proof - just my own gut feeling and years of research back in the late 1990's on the overstatement of the risks of smoking on smokers and by-standers - all largely funded by pharma industry, who just happen to have been introducing all kinds of NRT's. P.S. But I totally agree that vaping while not illegal is still an activity that should be done with respect and concern for those around you. Just as I would hope the would be respectful and take the time to understand what it is before they object.

So I think this paragraph is my favorite! Lets break it down, shall we! False, only American airlines has a stated policy (to the best of my knowledge) I'm sorry - what? Lautenberg wanted to make sure officials oppose this - is that your job - to make sure others follow your will? Correct, because smoking rules apply to the burning of tobacco, not the vaporization of e-juice. The basis of this will be we do not know if they cause a threat, so rather than determine that before you ban it. Wouldnt that be the appropriate course of action? lets face it once its banned it is not coming back, and there will be no attempt to prove or disprove the risk factors.
-
And there you have it - the tobacco and pharma lobbies have picked up their efforts and fear over fact has won.
-
Hang in there - is it due to arrive today? I assume so! BTW- I meant to ask you did you get the VV? If so or not what helped make that choice for you?

I ordered my tank from Vaperite, they appear to be out of stock on them now. I did ask Chris if the VT store will be stocking them and he confirmed they will as well, shortly. I love the convenience of filling the tank which is an easy process and vaping for hours with it that way, it holds just over one ML of juice. There are several threads here in the general section and several video reviews out there. I love it and haven't used a carto or cart since I got it.

It's Here! I Know U All Are Probably Tired Of Me Already.
ripple replied to Erika's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I have never smoked in my house since I bought it 8 years ago. Living in Florida stepping out is a pretty nice thing normally. I did beleive I would only vape outside too, for no special reason other then I didnt want to find myself all day vaping - I lied to myself and do find myself vaping inside since I work at home. This is also in part because my vaping behavior is somewhat different than my past smoking. I find myself doing one or two puffs, putting it down and coming back to it as I wish. My tank usage supports this nicely so since the behavior is different I find myself vaping very differently than smoking. I still step out, but sometimes I just sit here. -

Not at all tired of you, I suspect most of us just see ourselves in you, and for me that was a few short weeks ago. I am going to let others chime in about removing the wick. Given I have gone to the eGO tank I dont really use to many regular attys - well actually none. As far as the few hits effect. If I had to venture a guess it would be that you are vaping like you are smoking, taking a deep inhale as you vape. Its a bit of an adjustment and learning curve to realize vaping is different and your basic technique needs to be different. When you vape you want to inhale slowly and to some extent take the vape into your mouth and hold it there, then inhale and exhale fairly quickly. The inhale itself is not forced, more like a very light breathing in verse sucking on a straw. A very light inhale. Start out with small inhales first 2 seconds and work your way up. My first juices were 16 MG (I smoked menthol lights) and I coughed my head off the first few vapes. Now I can vape the 16 MG with 5, 6 second inhales without thinking about it. I am not sure what juice you ordered, but I know I wouldn't describe mine as thick or syrupy, but perhaps its just not a room temp yet? I didnt have any expectations about its consistency so it just was what is was. Just remember its a process, its not smoking and just as your first ciggys many years ago it takes a little time. Ask questions as you go and just take it one step at a time/ -
I keep looking at the hardware as investment dollars, I maybe laying out more upfront, but over some time the hardware remains and the cost equation begins the slow turn. Truth be told, if this was a zero sum equation I would still be okay with it for the simple benefits of long term physical impact.

The bits on the Leno show interviewing adults on basic stuff is pretty clear evidence adults are not to informed either!

Well I have no doubt that I will break down and take a shot at these before too long. Maybe if we all keep ordering in these kind of quantities it's like we will end up having some personal misses. It's bound to happen! But one persons hit is another persons miss I suspect. If that's the case I would be open to trying some juice swaps. I can't imagine actually ordering bacon and waffles but some others sounded quite interesting. I have a couple of juices from vaperite on the way along with a sample pack from then so that should help me get a better sense of the families of favors that seem more to my liking - above and beyond the six favors I have in house already that it
