  1. It's almost like I am not a noob anymore - Almost!
  2. Just looked at the site and they show a gen 1 and gen 2 eGo-T, interesting, but with no descriptive informaiton.
  3. That is great, I wish it were text rather than a large image I would like to post that in several other forums I participate in! Thanks for the Friday chuckles!
  4. Um, I am not sure that the Greensmoke is a KR808, but then again, I am not sure of a lot! I thought based on the link below Greensmoke is a E9 and that is compatiable with an KR808D-2 (which is where my confusion sets in the D-2 part) Compatibility chart link
  5. Congrats, be ready for a bump or two in the road, but remember they are just bumps and part of the learning curve of vaping. We all have had them and we all get through them with the help of our friends here. Now, back to some nice grape vape for me....
  6. Thanks Christopher, took th $2.99 plunge today and bought Tapatalk so I will be looking at it over the next day or two as well (as I reply to this on the iPad?!?)
  7. As others have already chimed in I just add to what they have already said. I would skip the cartridges and direct drip. A drip tip makes this much easier to do as you can just open the bottle and drip drip drip right through the tip. But you can do that with the cartridge for now until you get around to getting a drip tip (they are cheap, a few bucks typically - though there are some higher cost ones as well). If you want to go this route - remove the filler from the cartridge, and with the cartridge empty and removed drip right into the atty. then put the cartridge on a and vape. A sore throat in the beginning is not unheard of at all. But also realize when we all first start out we are used to smoking, and vaping is a bit different, you want to take a much slower, and longer inhale with less - for lack of better term - sucking power, almost a gentle inhale. Hold the vape in your mouth until you finish the inhale, then pull it into your lungs and release. Its a slightly diffenent technique then smoking analogs. As far as the leaking - a few thoughts, all attys come with a primer juice in them - blow the atty out before using it (a little late I know) Just remove it from the battery and remove the cartridge, take the open end (verse the thread end) into your mouth and blow it out with a paper towel or tissue held up to the thread end. Once it blows clean put it back on. My guess is you might have over filled the cartridge and it is dripping down and while not in use leaking out through the air holes (notice in the treads there are holes to allow air in when you vape. Let us know if any of this worked for you
  8. Really - nobody has anything....booooo
  9. One thing to be aware of - just because it looks the same and is called the same it might not BE the same. As with many products, knock offs and imitation products exist. I am not saying every other site out there is selling knock offs, I am sure they are not. But I am equally as sure that some are. One of the great things about the VT store is access to the owner, he stands behind his store, the products he sells and the assurance that what you think you are buying is what you get. I ordered my eGO back in January from the VT store on a Saturday afternoon. I received it on Monday via priority mail. The ship in 24 hours assurance is amazing in this industry. When it arrive a piece was missing - one email and I had a shipping notice for the missing piece within the hour. In a recent internet interview I heard Christopher talk about why the VT store only sells juices that are pre-mixed and does not mix his own. The response impressed the heck out of me - the reason, that until he can have a clean room he will not mix his own. I can honestly say I hadn't thought too much about it before but it did get me thinking. I am ingesting these vaporized juices into my body - don't I want to know that the juices I buy are being prepared in a sanitary manner and not just mixed up in someone kitchen? I guess what I am trying to say is that in an online world there is a lot of room for shady businesses and business practices. I trust the VT store, and its business practices, and for me at least if it means I pay a small premium (although I am not certain I am) I am willing to do that to protect myself and my well being. One final note, there is another well known vendor that is quite popular - I prefer to not name them. I recently decided to order some bits from them. I pulled the order together and proceed to the checkout process only to notice that at the credit card page the all important httpS was not a secure page at all. This is basic online commerce in my eyes. I promptly closed the page and went elsewhere. Just a little heads up and reminder that in this budding industry it serves you well to use a bit of caution.
  10. A little late to the thread but first of all congrats on the Job. I was out of work for over seven months beginning in early 2009 through most of the summer and it was just the worst feeling in the world - I was very happy when it ended and as it turns out landed in place that was much better than the one I left so with every change is an opportunity. I am (no so) patiently waiting for my first mod to arrive. I went with an Ali'i mostly for the bottom feeder and the variable voltage option. Being on the go a lot, with business trips and long long long road trips I needed something that would allow me to vape for long periods of time on a set of batteries and without the need to drip. The Ali'i has a 6 ML bottom fed bottle so that should keep me going for 100's of miles while driving my roadster across the country. I guess the point I am making is a mod really should meet your core needs, what are you going to need it to do and blend into your lifestyle. Good luck in the new job and equally as good of luck with whatever choice you make.
  11. So I wasn't sure where the best place for this topic was but I thought this section would be somewhat safe enough. Since I am a die hard verizon user and have had to wait years to get my iPhone I am a bit behind the times but getting caught up quick. I know there are several apps for viewing forums and thought I would ask to see who's using what and what you think of them. I have heard most about tapa talk and its price is low enough - but heck I am open to options. What cha got for me?
  12. It is a great car indeed - surprisingly large too, until you see it in person you don't have an appreciation for just how big it really is. congrats and detect the radars is a great idea, although more and more agencies are going to laser, which my detector can detect, of course the problem is once you detect a laser gun all you can do in begin to pull over, cause they already have your speed measured....boooo.
  13. So I am curious, what basis did HR use to say this is something they can not permit?
  14. In a word - YES. I have been trying to consolidate purchases, but it's difficult to do - you are far from alone for sure.
  15. I believe that is correct as well - LR attys with High volt devices = BAD. Yep thats right, Christopher was responding to just this topic in the wee hours of the morning about that. See this thread
  16. Well I can not give any advice on th Reo sorry - BUT - I can tell you I got my Ali'i ordered on my very first try but following the advice thats in this thread. So it's not that hard and its pretty darn predictable as well. One other tip, if history is an indicator of the future ordering for the Ali'i will open tonight 5PM Pacific 8 PM Eastern, its typically every other Friday and I ordered mine two weeks ago today. So if your leaning that way be aware today is an opportunity - also if you choice credit card payment it will launch you to paypal so assuming you have a paypal account make sure you are all set with that account as well. Also, two weeks ago ordering didnt open exactly at 8 (I am ET) it was more like 8:10, I was about to bail on it thinking he wasn't opening for orders, but he did so if you opt to go that route understand its around 8 ET.
  17. I get the basis for your question - their website design is less than wonderful and that was what I thought the first time I visited it. If you go there and select the "Nu-Juice Liquid Refill" you will find a bunch of options, flavor, blend (PG/VG), nic level etc. You just make your selections - they mix and send. Hope that helps - take a look through the e-liquid review section of this forum, there are many threads about their, and many other suppliers, juices. Some great information to help you make your decisions, but be advised there are so many options and choices just know you are going to end up ordering something you don't like eventually - it happens, just try again. Good luck.
  18. Well I just shelled out nearly 200 for my VV Ali'i so I can not imagine another 300. That said, really how is this justified? It does not appear to be a handcrafted item (like the Ali'i) so what the really cost factor. That being said, any low volume custom manufactured item is going to be costly to recoup the R&D costs involved. I would wait as Uma said for the second model year for kinks to be discovered and worked out. But it is a good looking device.
  19. Urgh, so to me this is becoming the most frustrating part of vaping - the decisions. I have read the good reviews, I have read the bad reviews and the decision making URGH. No doubt I will have to try VR, with their prices and the possibility of joy, but given the larger size its a lot of Juice to get "stuck" with if you're one of the - this just doesn't do it for me results. I have ordered from Todd at vape rite and generally speaking I have found his juices to be very good, there one or two misses in the sample pack I got - but thats the nice thing about the sample pack. Its such a tough thing to know where to try next, and the options seem to grow everyday, thats a good thing and a bad thing I guess. Of course I am adding nothing to this thread...sorry. P.S. We did discuss the bacon and waffles in another thread - at least now we know!
  20. First let me say I am glad this is my 100th post - I like a good meaty thread! I am with the folks who say we do have the responsibility to take advantage of the learning moment. Let's be honest, if you are outside the world of vaping you will no doubt think someone in the corner vaping is smoking. So its an opportunity to educate someone about the difference and what a difference they can make in someones life. I also would also speak to the the manager in charge first. I am in the fortunate position in Florida of preferring to sit outside on the patio anyway - at least at this time of year, come August who know? I do frequent my local starbucks and they know me well so I will at some point speak to them and get explicit permission first. I also think it's a good idea to choose your juice carefully - as noted some juices do have a very strong smell, as I type this I am vaping a very strong smelling black cherry. If I were to vape in a starbucks I think I would bring a coffee flavor so it blends with the smells that loft around the starbucks as part of the everyday starbucks experience, who could claim they smell my coffee vape over the smell of the business itself! I go to a local pub quite often - go figure - and have had a long conversation with the owners about this. They are happy to allow me and others to vape on the outside patio and at the inside bar, but would prefer not in the dining area. His argument is he wants to accommodate all and provide a comfortable experience for all. Their thinking around the dining room is since there is such a knowledge gap right now it's likely to bother some - admittedly due to lack of knowledge, but he does not want to lose business over it - I think his solution is a fair happy middle ground and I applaud his openness to a mutual solution. Lets be honest, this is our thing, and for years now the anti-smoking crowd has pushed the line - if you can smell it its killing you. So if we want vaping to be socially acceptable we need to honest that to the uninformed person it looks like we are smoking, take a few moments and try to educate a person about the very real difference, and most people will be open to it - its also likely that you might just give some information to someone who knows someone who smokes and they might pass long the information they gain about vaping to that smoker, perhaps changing their life! That did happen to me this past weekend and I just heard last night that person passed along the information and the person ordered and eGO. Happy vaping all!
  21. glad you liked it, I kept hearing about de-wicking and thought well that sounds like a pain, until I saw the video and said, well heck I can do that. Now I find dripping to be my preferred method, I even broke down and ordered me some drip tips today - and some other stuff...hehe I know return to the iPad, this damn laptop feels like a hot atty on my lap!
  22. Oops sorry, some times I forget I am not really a newbie any more I guess. I learned all about through a great video, I am on the iPad so this link (below) is a mobile link but it should work - but if it does not go to you tube and search phee303 - he has a great set of videos and they helped me a ton. Hopefully this link works for you. http://www.youtube.com/user/phee303#p/u/33/Ap1c4EwKRAY Edit - it didnt work so I got the laptop out to give the correct link - check out some of his novice videos, they are really helpful.
  23. One other thought - when I got my eGo I tried dripping and hated it, I could not understand what the hype was about. After some time working with cartos I tried again and same thing. But then I de-wicked the atty's and what a difference - give it a try!
  24. Oh I got my order in Nana - I am in on the class of 2/18 so I am already coming up on 2 weeks, I think I better get on ordering some batteries and attys and drip tips! But your advice is spot on for anyone else who is considering it. I ordered Yellowwood spine and bloodwood Doors - I think its going to be a good looking device. I guess my point is (vialed attempt to pretend we are not hijacking the thread) the whats next thinking is about what are your particular set of circumstances and what "next" device makes vaping even more easy and enjoyable - my decision was based on mobile simplicity, so ask yourself what are your specific needs and what device will help you get closer to meeting those needs consistently.
  25. Hello fellow central floridian! I started with and eGO starter kit that I got here at the Vapor talk store. I ordered it on a Saturday and it arrived on a Monday. It basically included all the same, except it was not a tank version so I got two basic attys. Since then I have purchased two t-attys and a package of five empty tanks. This was all back in late January, with the tank system added two weeks later. I am going strong with just that amount, with no sign of any issues with any of the four attys I have in house (yes I am knocking on my wooden desk right now). Since I work from home I have found dripping with my regular attys to be very convenient, its a two second process and have not even purchased any drip tips yet (though that is coming soon and will make it that much easier). I mostly fill a tank and head out with that to run errands or if I will be driving around. I will say that since I have gotten in the habit of dripping I am using my tanks less and less so that is a word of caution that I find I get more flavor and an easier draw with the regular atty then the tank, and using the tanks are more of a mobile convenience at this point for me. Most of the vendors on this and other popular forums ship with priority mail so items do arrive fairly quickly - I might add the Vapor Talk Store is by far the very fastest as they have a ship within 24 hours of your order policy and they live up to it fully. I guess what I am trying to say is try it before you stock up, everyones tastes and preferences are different - I loved the tanks when they first arrived but the love affair was somewhat shorter lived than I had hoped for. Of course thats just one persons humble opinion.
