The Cost Of Vapeing Vs Analogs
mwsmith1778 replied to easilyamused's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I think the other thing to think about here are the intangibles. When I would stop to buy smokes I would almost always get a soda or a coffee, and then maybe a bag of combos since I was there, and then hey, there's a lighter with Calvin peeing on the Ford logo; I NEED THAT I guess what I'm saying is, even though I haven't quite recovered the cost of my initial investment, I haven't seen my bank account steadily decreasing as payday draws nearer. I dig it. PS - I also just upped the ante by buying at least $200.00 of juices from different suppliers so I could try some new stuff, so my "break even" point is even further away. It's not as easy as smoking, but most things worth doing aren't that easy -
I'm gonna get lynched here, but my advice is to try an analog again. I think it's probably the best thing I did after I quit and felt the urge to smoke again. I've been smoke-free for about a month now and the other day my wife was smoking and wanted me to smoke with her. I lit it up and it absolutely tasted horrible. It tasted like it did when I was a kid and used to try and sneak a puff of my dad's cigarettes when he would toss them in the yard. My throat burned, my eyes watered and it was miserable. Trust me, it's not gonna taste as good as you remember or imagine.

Did You Drop Analog Cold Turkey Or Both Smoke And Vape?
mwsmith1778 replied to genieangel's topic in New Vapers Forum
I've been at it for two weeks and I still haven't quit cold turkey. That's the plan, but I haven't gotten there yet. I was smoking a pack a day and using a can of smokeless per day two weeks ago. I've been having a cigarette in the morning before work and then not smoking for the rest of the day. I've had the same pack for two weeks. And I've nearly cut out the smokeless too. I'll get there, but it's different for everyone. PS - The analogs really don't taste that good, not as good as vaping. I think it's just mental now. -
Hey look! A fellow Ohioan! Go Bucks!!!!

I think it depends on the juice and strength also. I ordered a bunch of different juices with my starter kit. A few of them were really strong and made me cough (cappuccino, bleh). I finally settled on Mentha (I was a menthol smoker) and it just fits. It hits really smooth and I don't have problems coughing or with a scratchy throat. Shop around and find that juice that works best for you too

Wow Beans, sorry that Chantix had that effect on you. My wife and I both used it last year. I didn't affect me at all, but my wife had a very similar reaction that you experienced. Extremely depressed, bizarre dreams, very untrusting of me, suicidal thoughts, etc. It was a complete disaster. Luckily we have a strong marriage or I don't see how we could have ever made it. But, like you, we quit for about a month. We both just decided we'd rather smoke than live like that.

Good for you! Congrats on making the switch. I have only been vaping for about 4 days, but I was also a menthol light smoker (Marlboro) and I find the Mentha from VTS is very good. Provides that hit of menthol that your craving but doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth afterwards. Taste is subjective, so maybe it won't be the same for you, but it works great for me. Best of luck with switch!

Lots Of Newbies Flowing In Today!...

You had me at "hello" Vapor Talk. You had me at "hello". -
Ah, drip tip here I come.
-
Using the Joye Ego with standard battery, but no drip tip.
-
In your opinion, how many hits can you get out of 3 direct drips (long, slow, deep drags)? I only ask because I feel like I'm dripping too frequently (getting a mouthful of juice), but it seems like the flavor has begun to diminish after about 5-6 vapes.

Thanks for the heads up on the cartos. I haven't purchased them yet. I've tried the pre-filled tobacco-flavored carts that came with the kit and wasn't impressed either.
-
Echoing pretty much what everyone else has said. I used the pre-filled tobacco flavored carts that came with my Ego and I only took about 7-8 good, long puffs before I felt a significant reduction in flavor and vapor. I'll use them, because they were "free" with the unit, but direct dripping tastes much better, and produces more vapor. I'm also gonna order some cartos from VTS for the road when I can't drip constantly, but other than that, I'm gonna stick with direct dripping.

I was at a mall this weekend, and I've made it a habit to explain to someone in charge before I begin vaping indoors to ensure there are no problems. When I asked one of the local security guards, he hesitated, and then told me he'd have to ask his manager. When the manager came over, his eyes kind of lit up and he pulled an electronic cigarette out of his pocket. Needless to say, it was okay but it was really cool to run into a fellow vaper. At least I got to waste a little time while my wife pillaged Rue21. Does anyone else ask/explain before they vape?

JayH503 - I've been direct dripping, but I think I'll purchase some cartomizers for when I'm on the road.

I received my Joye Ego today from VTS. Wow, can't even say enough about it. Fantastic throat hit (even made me cough a little bit). I see the beginning of a beautiful relationship. For any noobs who are hesitating on making a purchase because you're not sure it's gonna work for you (like I was), you can't go wrong with these things. Just awesome.

I'm with you Juliery. I'm very new to vaping and to this forum (my first kit arrives tomorrow) and I haven't even tried it yet (so I guess I should really have no opinion) . I have a feeling that I'm gonna love it though. Everyone here has been very patient with all my questions and has given me great advice. When I first set out to find one of these, my task was the same as yours: to find something that looked, felt, and tasted exactly like an analog cigarette. The more research I did, the more I found that those really don't exist. I chose the Joye Ego for many different reasons: VT staff and member recommendations, what I saw from all of the youtube videos I watched, increased battery life, and the fact that is looks killer. Very smooth. If you haven't seen the VT Ego Review on this site yet, you need to watch it, it sold me. Additionally, the more research I did on ones that looked like regular tobacco cigarettes, the more I found that they are the cheaper models with no battery life and very limited options. Everyone is different, but I hope you find something you like. Best of luck!

The same thing happened to me. I was actually at the "enter your credit card data" portion of filling out the form when I noticed the tiny little note saying pretty much the same thing. Three of the girls at work got burned on it. Thankfully it turned out great for me because that scam is what got me into researching e-cigs and landed me here. Like you said, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
