I never smoked Newports, but I was a Marlboro Menthol smoker. For me personally, the best menthol flavor I've tasted was Mentha from right here at the Vapor Talk Store; however, it's currently out of stock. http://www.vaportalkstore.com/products/Vapor-Talk-Mentha-E-Liquid.html Vapor Kings makes a tobacco/menthol mix and calls it Nuhport (They also have a Kool and Salem version). I personally didn't care for it but my wife loves it. http://www.vaporkings.com/10ml-bottle-of-Nuhport-flavor-e-Liquid-p/liquid-newport.htm

A sore/dry throat is a pretty common side effect in the beginning. Just drink plenty of water, that will pass. When you direct drip, you can either drip directly into a cartridge with filler in it, or you can direct drip on to the atomizer. For the best flavor, I would recommend skipping the cartridges altogether and dripping directly on to the atomizer. Drip 3 drops on a fresh atty, then take a couple of puffs without inhaling. Those first few puffs will taste kind of burnt if you inhale them. After you've done that, 3 drops directly on to the atty will probably last you between 5-8 hits depending on how big the drags are that you're taking. There's a great video on direct dripping in the tutorials section of the forum if you haven't watched it yet. As for leakage from the cartridge and atty, I haven't experienced that before.

I Love Cartos, But Im Having Issues....
mwsmith1778 replied to easilyamused's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I want to help, but I'm blissfully ignorant on all things carto-related, I only drip. I'm interested to know though, because I have a pack of 510 carto's taunting me in my stash that I really would like to get some use out of. -
They are referring to the different style of atomizer's you can purchase with the starter kit. Both the Ego and the Riva support 501 atty's and 901 atty's. I've never used the 901's but I love the 510's. I haven't tried the Riva, but from what I've gathered from reading the forums, it's almost the exact same product at the Ego with the exception of the battery difference Easily Amused has already pointed out. All of the parts are interchangeable.

That's a good point. This is the first time I've used "do it yourself" kind of interface Vapor Renu has for ordering on their website. I'll use them again, because I like that format and I think Jason is a top notch guy, I just need to figure out what's going to work best for me.

24mg nicotine, 30 ml, 100% pg, double flavor, smooth throat hit. Direct dripped and vaped with Joye Ego with LR atty's. A nice menthol taste, but a HUGE throat hit, which I was not expecting from Vapor Renu after reading all of the other reviews. It does also leave a bit of an aftertaste that's a bit hard to get over. The taste was kind of sharp for me. I mixed it with a little Dulcis from VTS and that took a bit of the sharpness out of it. Not a huge amount of vapor production either. It wasn't bad by any means, and I'll use it, but I much prefer Mentha from VTS.

100% PG for me.

I just finished watching "House" with a "Being Human" chaser. Makes me actually look forward to Mondays a little bit now. Now vaping before bed time. A good night.

What To Do With All This Extra Money?
mwsmith1778 replied to vaporqueen's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I haven't quite cleared my initial investment either (mostly because I can't stop trying new juices), but it will even out for me soon. It's really nice not to see that bank statement steadily decline each week though -
Does anyone inside the states sell the Riva?
-
That might be the "chemical taste" you're experiencing with you're juice too. I have never tried juice from that supplier, but a dry atty will give you a nasty burnt chemical taste. Sounds like that's what you have. Try your juice again after you've primed the atty and you might be surprised.

I am a pretty heavy vaper, and the only time I've had an Ego Mega battery die on me was when I was vaping some extremely thick VG stuff that was really hard to draw. Most of the time I can take it off the charger in the morning and it's good until about 5 or 6PM. I vape about 8 ml per day. Good luck!
-
Have you tried changing the atty?

Now I know, and knowing is half the battle. Go Joe!

...Bloody Noise....the newest band in the British Rock Scene! No seriously. Bloody nose? Wow, I wonder what causes that?

Thanks all, appreciate the feedback!

Nice, thanks

I had it before too, that's why I don't know if it's just an ongoing problem, or if the vaping is contributing to it. Seems like it's been worse since I started vaping, but it could just be that I've been eating worthless junk too. I know what you mean about girl scout cookies. I've got some thin mints whispering to me from the kitchen cabinets

Are the Riva batteries interchangable with the Ego/510 batteries/atty's?

Does anyone know if acid reflux is a side effect of vaping?

All 24mg, all 100% VG. I was really excited about this order. I ordered several bottles because of the great price. 30 ml bottles for 9 bucks, how can that be beat, right? Well it can. I ordered the following: Creme de Menthe White Chocolate Cinammon Marbelo Menthol Orange Cream Soda I couldn't really find anything that I liked in this bunch. There was no throat hit (to be somewhat expected with VG) and the vapor production wasn't all that great for VG. Perhaps I'm just a PG fan (as this was my first experience with VG), but none of these juices were any good for me. They were extremely thick, clogged up the atty, and drained battery life very quickly (due to the long drags needed to get any vapor). The taste is also impossible to remove from the atty. I gave them a week or so and came back to all of them and still couldn't find anything positive about them. I hate to speak negatively about a product, but I wouldn't waste your money on these juices.

In the interest of making sure that I had given others a chance and was getting the best service for myself, I tried ordering from a few other suppliers. Man does that "ships within 24 hours" thing make a difference! With nearly every other vendor I tried, the status remained in the "processing" phase for almost two days before it shipped. I'm in Ohio and it took about two days less to receive my order from VTS (in California) than it did from suppliers in Florida and Oklahoma. I have had to purchase from other suppliers only when my mentha is out of stock, but VTS is where it's at. Great customer service and I can't find juices that I like any better.

It's completely a personal preference, but I'm not a huge fan of the VG. It was really really thick and clogged up my atty's. It also didn't help that the flavor I tried to vape was completely gross and seemed to stay in the atty forever. All of the harder draws also zapped my battery. I am used to my ego battery lasting me pretty much all day, but I burned through it in about 4 hours vaping VG. PG is just much smoother for me. That being said, I haven't tried mixing PG and VG together yet.

Perhaps it would help to de-wick the atty?
-
If you haven't already seen it, you should check out Ripple's vid on de-wicking atty's too. That helps prevent the VG from gunking up the heating element under the bridge. Works great for me.
