I just realized, while talking to CigarBabe, that today is my 6 year vapeversary. I wanted to say thanks to VT for being the help that it was when it was needed. Met a lot of great people from this forum. Thank you!

TroopX reacted to Rixter in Rixter's Review of Vapor Talk Dulcis
As posted in "" :
After vaping nothing but Dulcis through a dual-coil 1½Ω 306 atomizer at 15 watts (7½ watts per coil) a little today and a lot this evening, I have to say that of all the desert vapes I've tried, this just might be my favorite one yet.
I don't even know if Dulcis is supposed to be categorized as an RY4-styled e-liquid, because it doesn't seem to project "Vanilla" like other RY4s typically do. It does have the "Caramel" needed to be grouped in the RY4 box, but it's really a different animal altogether.
For me, Dulcis tastes like a really rich, warm, caramel-marinated medium-dark tobacco blend with lots of flavor. It is not wimpy on the tobacco, either...that part stands right out in the mix. The sweet caramel is also recognizably apparent from the beginning of the draw and stays put right through to the end.
As I mentioned earlier, "Vanilla" did not seem to be a component of this juice, but honestly, it wasn't missed at all. In fact, even though the flavor gives you the impression of vaping a really good RY4, the lack of vanilla is a definite plus for Dulcis in that it makes it stand out in a crowd. It's bold without being too complicated. Good stuff.
I will be ordering more of this for a fact. I hope there will be some bigger bottles available because I think a well-steeped 50 ml. bottle of Dulcis would be a real treat.
Oh, yeah...at an unusually light (for me) nicotine level of 16 mg., Dulcis packs one hell of a throat hit, too.
This is a really good vape...VT gets a "Gold Star" on this one.

TroopX got a reaction from GPurv in Do You Vape In Public Places?
I love to vape in public when I get the chance. If one wannabe ex-smoker sees it and can approach and ask questions- awesome. Some people stare- that's good too. I have nothing to hide. I'm doing a public service by vaping in public whether people know it or not. When I have been approached by staff, it's been a simple case of answering "yes- it is one of those water vapor things" or "it's not smoke, it's vapor" and everything was ok. Of course there needs to be respect of location, but if you have the chance to vape in public- do it. Vape proud.

TroopX reacted to Uma in Mark's Mod Holder
Mark's Mod Holders are awesome! The one he made for me is out of Brazillian Cherry and fits just right on my tiny end table. It's small enough to mail in a typical ejuice mailing box (usps white box), and the craftsmanship is just beautiful. I won mine in a contest here at VT that Mark put on and the staff supported, but they can also be bought at his place Markspens and you get to choose from a huge variety of beautiful wood. He makes these, his pens, and more all by hand. Beautiful work, beautiful person. Thank you Mark!!! and Thank you VT for supporting his ventures.

TroopX reacted to drummerjims in Cartomizers And Me.
on the smoktechs on a tank what I like to do is fill up the tank (not the carto) and then cover up the bottom hole with my finger tightly. after that i start sucking the juice into the cartomizer use short hard hits to do this. this will fill the cartomizer from the bottom up. after i get a slight gurgly feel i will then put about 5-10 drops into the top and then blow the excess juice out of the bottom. I have given several people this advice and I have been told it has saved them several cartos. It has also saved me several cartos.

TroopX got a reaction from kitsune in Vision Ego Transparent Clearomizers
It looks like I'm going to have to update my review on the Visions. The one that Kit sent tastes fine and performs better than the last two I've tested. As an added bonus, it was loaded with VT Midnight- very nice to taste that again! While the draw is a bit stiff, the flavor is good and the scratchy that I had in my first Vision is gone. While I won't recant my initial opinion, I will update it to reflect the positive. 1 out of 3 isn't very impressive, but the first two could have been a bad batch- and in the least, I recognize the potential it has for what it is.
A big thanks to you Kit. I wasn't going to give the Vision a second look. Let me know what you think of the ones that I am sending out tomorrow. Both have less than a tank through them and are poo.

TroopX got a reaction from Uma in Who Sells The Best 510 Atomizers?
I've been using the AVA LR atty on a pv at 4.1'ish for a month now, and it's pretty solid. They do make a SR also. It's pricey ($45)- but the flavor is very good. The verdict is still out on lifespan. The hh357 has been a good atty overall also.

TroopX reacted to Breal in Vision Ego Transparent Clearomizers
LOL! Ok.. The flavors are muted. You'll find that a lot of people concede to that one... However, some people disagree. I wish I disagreed.. but, I don't. The flavors are muted, imho. Fine. The dry scratchy throat hit, however... well, all I can gather on that one is either you are not allowing your wick to absorb the juice fully or that your wick isn't absorbing the juice properly (someone punched a few small holes in it and said it worked great). Mine didn't need that.. but I have the ego elegance without the new adaptation (no metal spout in mine).. don't know if that makes a difference.
As for the wicking issue... someone described it pretty well.. the juices darken in the 'tank'.. perhaps because the wick has difficulty absorbing all the elements of the juice simultaneously. All that said, the device works adequately. I like mine.. I put Bobas Bounty in there.. it never clogs. I've had it for over a month and use it every day; it's still going strong. I am not a great fan of the molasses flavor in the Bobas, but I like the tobacco flavor.. so, to me.. the ego elegance (Vision Ego Transparent Clearomizer) works fine. Is it as good as your standard boge lr 2.0? Such a hard question to answer...

TroopX got a reaction from Christopher in What Is The Highest Volt Mod Has Anyone Used?
The flavor usually decreases with higher voltages- but it does depends on the juice and atty resistance. The benefit of higher voltage is that you don't have to pull on the pv as long- it gets the job done quicker. The hits can be warmer, more vapor and also more TH. You'd have to find your sweet spot to figure out what voltage is for you- but between 4.2-5v on an LR atty is pleasant IMO. Any higher and you should be using a SR atty and you might want more volts than 5v with SR. Again- it depends on your sweet spot.

It's reset to keep a fair, up to date list and archived so you can see how well any vendor on the list ranked in the past. What do you all feel the proper time should be before it's reset?

TroopX got a reaction from DAYVAPE in Atty-Tank Vs Carto
Funny Dayvape! I'm actually sitting here vaping on a smok tech dual coil xxl mega carto at 1.5ohm on a PT- and it rocks. Generally though, I'll grab my REO or other pv and go without having to worry about anything. And as far as the cost of a REO- it cost of a bit more than 10 days of smoking for me. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
I'd say if you haven't tried a carto- try it. If you haven't tried a tank and have been thinking about it- do it. Neither one have been my choice, but they are cheap enough to try. Attys and cartos are disposable. No need to commit to something until you know that you don't like the others. Also- products are constantly changing and improving.

TroopX got a reaction from Uma in Help: New Ecig Setup Needed
Wow. Where to start? There are so many options. How do you like your kit now? If you want to upgrade, an ego would provide longer battery life, and also allow you to use an LR atty or carto (warmer vape that simulates a higher voltage vape). You should also be able to almost double the amount of juice you are getting for that price- along with increase the quality if you try some of the vendors out there. A lot of vendors do samples and smaller bottles so you can find something you like quicker and more economically. The vaportalkstore has some great juice, vermillionriverejuice has free samples if you pay shipping (and I can vape this all day long), Boba's Bounty from AVEJuice is very popular, also check out guidetovaping.com for a changing list of popular juice vendors. The VT forum here is invaluable- poke around and learn, or ask questions here and you'll find the cure for your vaping ailments.
I don't use cartos, but a lot of vapers rave about the dual coils. Someone will be around shortly to chime in on where to get the best deal on cartos.
Good luck, and welcome to VT!

TroopX got a reaction from DAYVAPE in First Day
Nox is right- if there is an issue, mention it and you'll find a cure most likely. Don't worry if you find yourself getting another PV right away if you do discover limitations that you can't get around. It seems like it's a right of passage to get a very temporary starter unit. You've made the right steps and have the right tools at least. Welcome to VT, and vaping!

TroopX got a reaction from YouMayLose in Noobie And Want Opinion
That should get you going! I'd grab a few more juice samplers from different vendors just in case you don't like the two you got. Chocolate can be hit or miss. Sample sizes will allow you to try more and find the juices you like quicker.
Good luck!

oh no. Breaking in new attys with bad juice DM? Sounds like a way to taint a fresh atty. ...I always appreciate a good juice on a fresh atty (after the primer is blown out). Whatever works for you- but it sounds like you need a good local vapemeet to swap those juice out at.
