Perfumer's Apprentice Tobaco Flavors.
TroopX replied to Chainvape's topic in DIY e Liquid Discussion
Not that I can tell, but my taste buds likely aren't the same as yours. I always put another flavor in with the tobacco, as I too don't want it dominant, but rather a background flavor. Both smell really good IMO, like a fresh cigar or a leaf tobacco vs. an ashtray. -
Perfumer's Apprentice Tobaco Flavors.
TroopX replied to Chainvape's topic in DIY e Liquid Discussion
I have tobacco absolute, and tobacco extract- and I also have the tobacco flavoring (chemical flavoring). I haven't made anything worth mentioning quite yet- but the absolute should be diluted with PGA, ie; everclear. The tobacco extract doesn't mix well with alcohol and should be diluted with distilled water. (So I was told) Two of my favorite juices use one or the other (absolute or extract), but I can't nail down the recipes I'm working on just yet. You'll be able to get close, and not dilute if you use the chemical flavoring instead of the real deal, but I feel the absolute and extract will end up being better. Good luck. -
New To Vaping Again, This Time Its Working.
TroopX replied to mattfromthenavy's topic in New Vapers Forum
I realize i'm in the minority, but not one sided. I've tried the cartos and have liked a few, for a short period of time. They are really hit or miss with me. For the most part, I was just razzing ya- but there is a lot of truth to the statement too. Not sure how adding some filler is going to make the heating device better and the taste better. And re: cost of a bottom feeder ...here it's LESS than the cost of 15 days of smoking (for me). Now I have had some attys that would totally put me off of vaping, or attys in general if I didn't know better. I guess it's the same with both- they all have a potential to be lemons, or taste funky, or vape funky. ....this is getting way off track. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Attys rule. Welcome back Matt! -

I'll NEVER catch on. ....it's like an atty with some batting inside to mess everything up. I agree cartos might work better than dripping for some- but it is only because people are trying to get away from having to drip constantly IMO. The bottom feeder solves this dilemma, thus making the carto pointless. (less is better- why add more than the heating element if you don't have to?) -

Glad you are back on track. Sounds like you have some good advice too. For a no fuss PV (assuming you have good attys), I might suggest the REO. Fill the 6ml tank, fresh 18650 and go. It's like direct dripping without the fuss, and is built like a tank (except the door might need a band around it if using gloves or for less fumbling on the go). Dayvape loves attys too. (Hah) -
Want To Upgrade To Ego-T Kit, A Few Questions
TroopX replied to Elementgreen's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Get an LR 510 or 306 atomizer for your PT too. Then you can figure out if you like that vape. ...it'll be good. With a good LR atty, an Ego will do well. Good luck! t (Ask Dayvape- he LOVES attys.) -
Don't forget about the original MAP tank and the new stainless option- it looks killer!
-
I won't recommend the Riva's anymore. I have a buddy (perro) that fried 3 batteries within a few months. Back to suggesting the good ole Ego.
-
Right. ...except the cartomizer part.
-
I agree. I've tried the peach and cherry mapacho, and while it won't replace my cherrywood and maplewood as my daily vapes- the mapachos are very good. Give them a shot!
-
Pre-filled carts aren't your best option. Find some cartos and/or an atty and buy juice to fill them and you'll save more and enjoy more.
-
You might need to change your line of thinking a bit. You won't find that exact "burning paper and chemicals" taste that you get with an analog in an ecig or juice. In addition, if you are a moderate to heavy smoker- the look alike units will leave you constantly charging every 2-3 hours of use. If this is fine- try a joye 510. Most here will suggest getting the Ego because of battery life, reliability and versatility. A lot of people like to use LR attys, which you can't use on a standard stick battery either. Juices are a tough area- as everyone's tastes are different. Try to get sample sizes until you find ones that you like. Good luck. Welcome to VT!

Sunday, August 14th, 2pm-whenever The Whiskey Junction , 901 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis MN - 612 338 9550 We had our last meet there, and the staff were great, we were able to explain vaping to some other customers who smoked, or had loved ones who wanted to quit smoking. It was a friendly, fun atmosphere, the service and food were good, and the parking situation is ideal! The light rail also has a stop right across the street! We will be discussing the location of the October 9th meet, as we would like to find another location to try. Vape meets can be a great way to be a positive introduction to vaping for folks who don't know anything about it!

August 3, 2011 New research lights up success of e-cigarettes As electronic cigarettes become a more popular means of quitting conventional cigarettes, studies pointing to their efficacy are accumulating. In an online survey of nearly 3,600 subjects who were recruited from either e-cigarette-related web sites or smoking cessation sites that have nothing to do with e-cigarettes, researchers from the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine at the University of Geneva found that a large majority of the responders who had quit reported that e-cigarettes helped them get off cigarettes. And, in an entry for his blog tobaccoanalysis.com, ACSH advisor Dr. Michael Siegel, professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health, discusses the study results, which were published in the journal Addiction. Among e-cigarette users who used the devices to quit smoking, four out of five said they fear they would return to smoking cigarettes if the electronic nicotine delivery devices were banned. Despite the study’s positive conclusions regarding the use of e-cigarettes as effective smoking cessation devices, some prominent public health organizations continue to rail against the alleged dangers of allowing these products on the market. But people who rely on science, not simply feelings, are frustrated by such fervent opposition, says ACSH’s Dr. Gilbert Ross. “Those who want to ban e-cigarettes and refuse to investigate the potential of harm reduction are adhering to a discredited dogma, which is frustrating to scientists such as Dr. Siegel.” A ban on e-cigarettes is hypocritical and illogical,” adds ACSH’s Dr. Josh Bloom, “especially since Congress has allowed companies to legally sell harmful or useless (and untested) products, such as dietary supplements. But all of a sudden, regulators are worried about the safety of e-cigarettes? How about considering the known and serious risk of real cigarettes in the equation? Any minor safety concerns about e-cigarettes are dwarfed by the real risk of smoking. Why people who are supposedly acting in the interest of public health can’t grasp this simple concept is a mystery to me.” Dr. Siegel sums up the issue very nicely: Thus, promoting the removal of electronic cigarettes from the market pending further research and recommending that people refrain from using the product pending further research are both strategies that will almost invariably cause substantial health harm to the population. Keep it up. Don't worry too much if you don't crave an analog. If you do- try to vape through it and see how easy it is. You can vape through stress too. Take a nice pull off your ego filled with your favorite juice and release your stress with a huge cloud of vapor. ...Maybe that's why I chain vape.

To answer the question- once and for all.... try them both. Cartos and atty's are inexpensive enough to be able to make your decision based on your own use. Some atty users hate cartos for the same reasons carto users hate attys and vice versa. Individual experience will vary.

You have to consider that most people who use cartos suggest the boge's. They also use juices from quality vendors, which taste much better than any pre-filled carto I've tried. Upgrade your carto and juice, and you should be much happier than where you are now. As far as which one is better? Clearly it would be an LR atty (if you ask me), but it seems more people use cartomizers. IMO, DD on an atty tastes and vapes the best. With it comes the pain of dripping all the time, and having tissue around. A bottom feeder solved this problem for me so attys taste and function the best.

That is made by nitelitevapor, but it's not similar, or even close IMO. Bounty hunter is more of a nice light tobacco flavor with cake. (there are a few opinions on what it tastes like- but boba's hasn't been one I've heard)
-
Nothing similar that I've found. Just get the real thing and give it a shot! (They do sell smaller bottles as samples too)

Sent a handful of links your way!

I Kinda Enjoy The Thin Sleek Look Of The Cheap Ones
TroopX replied to Anon360's topic in New Vapers Forum
Ron's advice is spot on if you can't deal with a thicker PV such as the ego. The joye 510's do have the manual or automatic button, Battery life is such that a moderate to heavy smoker would want to get at least 4 batteries IMO, more if you believe in having back-ups for your back-ups.
