OMG, thank God you and your fiance are okay!! That must have been terrifying. My husband and I and our youngest daughter were driving on the tollroad and a car ahead of us did that.....it was the scariest thing I have ever seen...the car was just spinning around across all 4 lanes and we stopped as fast as we could, numerous other cars did the same and it was pure luck that he managed to spin in a way that he didn't hit any other cars. After he finally stopped spinning he just drove away, no problem. But seeing that, I can only imagine what it was like to be the driver. SOOooooooo glad you are both okay!!

Proposed Ban In Seattle Area
juliery replied to Darrin's topic in Vaping Legislation & Regulation News
OMG, this is the funniest response I have ever seen. If you read the news article on the link on Mark's post above...the whole reasoning is so childish, illogical and TOTALLY promoting a "nanny state". This ridiculous chairperson said that the ban is needed because of the "subliminal" message it sends to people, primarily children....that if someone is puffing away on something that looks identical to a cigarette it is sending the message that it is okay to smoke. So this guy wrote the following..... "Posted by ecbot at 12/16/2010 12:26 p.m. Think I'm going to buy a 3/8" wood dowel, cut it into 3.5" lengths and paint it white/orange with a little red on the end. While it won't emit smoke or vapor, I can probably imitate smoking with it in a bar. Then we'll see how long it takes to ban w-cigarettes (wood cigarettes). Just my little contribution to civil disobedience." OMG, we should all do it, would THAT be hilarious in a restaurant or work place. Just sit there with something that looks IDENTICAL to a cigarette, but is doing NOTHING. See if that sends a subliminal message to others, primarily children to smoke. EVEN BETTER....show up at these idiotic hearing with our "w-cig".....I will volunteer to make them....I have TONS of paint and could make a VERY realistic looking w-cig. We would only need one....but even funnier to make a "pack" of them and carry them VERY obviously out in the open. Picture being in a public place doing this and handling it just like a cig.....pretend you are flicking ashes. Will they try and outlaw it???? OR what if you had an e cig, with NOTHING In the cartridge, in fact the battery could be uncharged.....if you are DOING nothing at all other than LOOKING like you have a cig, will they try and ban it, based on that illogic???? Talk about ridiculous! ROTFLMAOPIMP -
Hi, Welcome...Really, you have to think of EVERYTHING as an item that needs to be replaced. Eventually the entire device has to be replaced. Heavy users have to replace the devices/batteries more frequently obviously. There are threads about this topic, you can NEVER have too many backups.....it is best to have an extra charger, because the charger can stop working, of course have extra batteries, even if they are just regular 510 stick batteries....in a bind anything will do. Have plenty of liquid, plenty of attys. You can, and probably will at some point, buy attys that just don't work, that are DOA.....so always make sure you have plenty of back up supplies. You will end up using it all anyway, but you don't want to put yourself in a position that you are down to one atty, and then you go to use it and it doesn't work......and that has happened to MANY people. If you look through various conversations you will see these type of things happen all the time. It is sort of like a car....you can take care of it, do everything right as far as maintenance, and you are driving along and poof your fuel pump goes, or your radiator hose blows. You just can't predict everything that can go wrong, nor can you prevent it. BUT like a car, the older it gets, the more likely it is to have a problem. Of course it would be difficult for most people to have back up vehicles, LOL....but easy to make sure you have back up vaping supplies. Obviously you want back ups for the supplies that are replaced most frequently. The liquid is a consumable, so you can judge that by how much you are using, then you know how long your supply will last. The attys, you just have to make sure to have several since their life spam is rather unpredictable, plus you can just flat out have bad ones. You will learn as you go along, as we all do and still are.....there is always something new to learn. I hope you enjoy it, and have fun. Everyone here is very helpful!!

I Don't Know How To Vape Properly After Two Weeks
juliery replied to Hank's topic in General Vaping Discussion
You know, until I read what you wrote here, I never really noticed what I did, other than inhaling the vapor.....but I just paid VERY close attention...when I normally vape, I draw in and the whole time I am drawing I am inhaling into my lungs. SO instead I did it your way, I sucked in a mouthful, THEN inhaled the whole mouthful at once like you said....I noticed two things...the TH is WAY more AND I exhale MUCH less vapor. So I thought, hmmmmmmmm, is it just weak vapor, so I did it my normal way....inhaling while drawing in and exhaled big clouds of vapor. Did it your way again, exhaled almost no vapor. In addition to the stronger TH I notice the effect of the nic is MUCH more than vaping the way I was, which was how I smoked. So awesome, I think this may stop my chain vaping. I vape CONSTANTLY, to the point that it really interferes with everything. Like typing, I have to stop every few words to vape. Now, after a couple times using your method, I am typing this whole thing only stopped ONCE. Your method makes the vaping effect much closer to that of smoking. Kinda cool after almost a year of vaping still learning SO many things. Thanks for that tip.....MUCH better experience! Maybe now I won't go through 10 cartos a day. I think I was just inhaling and exhaling so fast that really next to nothing was being inhaled in a satisfying way. I notice on a lot of the video liquid reviews people do not appear to be inhaling at all....they just suck in and blow out, and some blow it through their nose, but of course circulating it through the throat/nasal passages has nothing to do with your lungs. And to me vapor production doesn't count if you aren't inhaling....almost any liquid produces tons of vapor if you just draw it in and blow it back out. But when I smoked cigs I didn't exhale hardly any smoke....I inhaled really deep and long and by the time I exhaled there was not much smoke. So I don't need to exhale huge clouds of vapor, i never exhaled huge clouds of smoke. I have to inhale into my lungs to get any kind of satisfaction. I will be paying a lot more attention to how I vape now. Thanks for the tip, much better experience, more similar to smoking your way!! -
All the nic juice comes from China....even all the products that are "made in the USA"....only 70% of a product has to be made here to call itself "made in the USA".....and that includes the work of mixing it...but the pg/vg can easily be from the US, as can the food flavoring....but the nic juice is all from China.....no company here is extracting nicotine from tobacco (at least not that I last checked) and therein lie most of the concerns. Since we know quality control is awful in China. So even the liquid you buy here that is already cut with pg and or vg...the original nic liquid is from china. But as far as the uncle's condition.....there are SOOOO many things that could cause those symptoms, and of course excess nic consumption can be one of those things...I have felt that way using the nic patch and in fact it says that stuff right in all the warnings on all those products. that rapid heartbeat, sweating, all kinds of stuff can happen from having too much nic in your bloodstream at once or suddenly. BUT of course ALL those same things can happen by smoking too much too. I also think it would depend on a variety of other factors as well....someone who has any kind of cardio issues would be more prone to such a reaction. But if he is a normal healthy person with no medical problems I have never heard of nicotine actually harming a person...it is more just that it could scare you....just like when people have panic/anxiety attacks and think they are having a heart attack.. There is no actual harm or problem. IF those cardio symptoms WERE from the vaping/nic, then they should have subsided very quickly after not vaping.....unless of course he started to panic and basically kept it going by being scared. I can't even imagine how much nic you would need to consume in order for it to show up in a blood test, considering you would have to get to the ER, and it takes a little time to get the labwork ordered, drawn, etc. By then you would think the nic level would have subsided. I know when I have had that from the nic patch, I have taken it off and within like 30 minutes felt entirely fine. If a doctor "diagnosed" this overdose WITHOUT labwork supporting it, that would be VERY irresponsible. I assume that the uncle isn't going to resume cigarette smoking......if for some reason he has developed a sensitivity to nicotine he would be far more likely to have the angina type attacks while smoking since a far higher dose of nic is delivered than with vaping. I would hope that no one would go back to smoking with the belief it is safer than vaping. I could understand if someone got scared and decided to do neither but to go back to using something that you KNOW is full of poisons seems a bit illogical. Plus just because something like that happened once doesn't mean it would EVER happen again. Like when I had that problem with the patch, I didn't stop using it totally....I just made sure to have food in my stomach, etc. as you will react a lot more strongly to stimulants like caffeine and nicotine on an empty stomach. I have had the pounding chest pain after drinking too much coffee on an empty stomach too.

Is There A Such Thing As A Premium 510 Atty?
juliery replied to ManAlive's topic in New Vapers Forum
Vapor Renu has awesome flavors....have loved EVERYTHING from there so far....they have multiple options for more VG...you can get it 100% VG, and various other pg/vg combos and if you want it some way that the option is not there you can just write Jason and tell him what amount you want. He is VERY accommodating....OUTSTANDING customer service. Everything there is mixed when you order it....you can get various levels of nic and all that stuff as well. If there is a flavor they don't have you they will make it for you and add it to their list. I did notice with using more VG, because I used to only vape 100%pg, that the cartomizers get nasty quicker. So I googled and did reading and the more VG you have the faster it will gunk up attys, whether they are within a carto or not. I found various sources about this.....because of the thickness it just gunks up faster....and in the carto I have been vaping with no cap on it, and I am vaping like a slightly amber colored liquid but the carto filler is getting darker and darker. So I researched and found that is from the VG....heating it up will discolor it, and you will need to clean attys and cartos, whatever more than using just PG. I don't care, but I am wondering how that would affect atty life....whether the atty is within a carto or not. I don't know if I would want to use 100% vg in a carto....probably take forever to soak into the filler it is so thick. I guess it makes sense as thick as it is that it would gunk things up fairly fast. -
This is exactly the kind of story the FDA and the pro banning people would LOVE. Of course it is totally illogical because you can also get sick from smoking. People who smoke clog up their airways and blood stream with smoke and poison and have heart attacks as a direct result of smoking every day. So obviously removing thousands of chemicals is the far safer option. BUT as you said, from all the misinformation and flat out BS, people when upset will jump to all kinds of crazy conclusions. I hope if your dad isn't vaping that he didn't go back to smoking...because while your uncle may have had some kind of reaction, he didn't die, AND if your father continues smoking he most likely eventually will have some kind of smoking related illness...it is a question of time. Why your dad would stop if he has had no problems I don't get. I mean WE KNOW what is in cigarettes and we KNOW it is dangerous. So I would always go with the most logical, safer choice. I have never claimed that vaping is 100% safe, but NOTHING is 100% safe. Driving down the street to get a gallon of milk isn't totally safe. So to me it is a logic issue. Excessive use of nicotine CAN cause a rapid heartbeat, chest pains, etc. But it will go away by stopping the consumption of nicotine. People have had these reactions using lozenges, gum, patch, and of course smoking too. In fact, RIGHT on the patches and all those stop smoking aids, there are warnings about all those things. So consuming nicotine in any manner can cause those symptoms. As far as the skin reaction, you can have a sensitivity to ANYthing....I mean people are allergic or sensitive to latex gloves...you can have sensitivity to PG, VG, the food flavoring and any other substance on the face of the earth. So of course the pro ban people will say EXACTLY what your parents are saying because naturally they want to get people to THINK this might be dangerous for some people. BUT I am an adult. I know that smoking is almost GUARANTEED to kill me, in some way, at some time, if I continue smoking 2-3ppd.....so as an adult I feel that I should be making the CHOICE of which products I choose to use. We don't know what is in EVERY nic liquid, and personally I would LOVE if it was made in the USA and there was a level of quality control we would feel more assured of. HOWEVER, knowing what is in cigarettes compared to what MIGHT be in the e cig....I will take my chances. For one thing I know right away I am getting rid of the danger of all the respiratory issues by vaping since there is no smoke inhaled that I am filling my lungs and airways with. But to answer your question....how will this affect these things....it depends who is interpreting such information. Where there blood tests showing that there was some high level of nicotine in his blood? All these same symptoms could be caused by eating all kinds of things too. I have had rashes on my chest and a pounding heartbeat, in NO WAY related to smoking OR vaping. There are tons of things that can cause those symptoms.....including numerous medications, vitamins, over the counter cold and allergy meds and so many other things it is nearly impossible to list them all. I find it hard to believe that it is from the vaping IF he has been vaping. For one thing, the nic level in the juice is NOT what you are actually getting into your body. You get far less nicotine vaping than smoking. I have smoked like really excessively when nervous and/or upset and made myself dizzy, lightheaded, pounding heartbeat and sick to my stomach......I never went to the hospital, I knew I had been chain smoking and so I just stopped smoking for a bit and it all subsided. I have also gotten nervous and gotten hives....from nerves....calm down and they go away. So first someone would have to show me that NOTHING else could have caused this problem and then show me blood tests where he had some sort of level of nicotine that caused this. BUT, it could be it was from vaping...he could have sensitivity to any of what is in there....>BUT then show me in the entire vaping community how many people this has happened to. Compare that to the percentage of smokers that get sick and DIE as a direct result of smoking. I will take my chances with vaping. I think the entire thing with the ban is WE ARE ADULTS....we should be FREE TO CHOOSE. If your dad and uncle know all the same information and choose to smoke, then that is THEIR choice. But I shouldn't have something taken away from me, just because some other person had a problem with it. Plus, I don't know what he was doing...maybe he was using some 36mg liquid, whereas I never go over 18mg.....or he was chain vaping....plus I don't know his age and medical history etc. There are just way too many variables involved. Good for YOU that you had a logical argument....it makes NO sense to consume an item that we KNOW contains dozens of carcinogens and other poisonous substances over something that MIGHT have trace amounts of something. Plus just because one person has a problem with something doesn't mean another will. Just like the people who have a problem with the PG and use VG....okay, I don't have a problem with the pg, so just because one person has a problem doesn't mean everyone will.....both pg and vg in general are safe. And even with sensitivity like a rash, or whatever....that can hardly be compared to emphysema or cancer. If vaping gave me a rash, I would still do it....better to have a rash and be alive than not have one and be dead. Anyway, I understand when people are scared and stressed they don't really think things all the way through very logically.....most people are shook up and making compulsive and reactive decisions without really thinking. SO maybe with time and your logic, your dad will realize that first of all, there is no real PROOF that this was from vaping and not something he ate, or a rash can be from a new clothing detergent or fabric softener or a million other things.....and even IF it was, doesn't mean it would ever do anything to your dad. As long as you keep vaping, because you are being logical. But personally, unless they PROVE that this was a nicotine overdose, I don't really buy it. and if it is that is something easily avoided....be careful how much nic you are using and if you are chain vaping, you have to be aware of the feeling when you are doing it too much....happens to me all the time because I am a chain vaper too. I hope your uncle is okay now! Sorry for rambling.

I Don't Know How To Vape Properly After Two Weeks
juliery replied to Hank's topic in General Vaping Discussion
You are welcome. I will not smoke again either....this is SOooooooo much better! -
I wouldn't cartos designed for a KR808 device with another device....then you need an adapter and you never have the same power using an adapter as you do using the things designed for that device. I have the KR808 version of the Riva....all the exact same specs, only a KR808 connection. I wouldn't get an ego even down the road because it would make no sense to go from a 750mah down to a 600mah. I would like the XXL elegant easy because that is 1300mah with the 808 connection.....but I don't think I will need it once I get the mod since I have two of the 750 batts, plus the PT I have, and the one Jolly is making me, and then plus the mod. I should be set, at least till next year. I figure every year, around my vaping anniversary I will get new hardward, unless I would need it sooner, then of course I will back up my back ups, LOL. I will still have my stash of stick batts for back up too, so I should be good. I figure probably by next year I will be strictly using mods. I only wanted the cylinder type batteries for use in public, since it doesn't look totally strange. By a year from now I just won't care what it looks like. I don't really care about anyone looking at me, just don't want problems. The one good thing about using the stuff in public is the people who come up asking about it.....I have given out urls so many times I can't count from smokers coming up and asking me if I am using one of those "electric" cigarettees, LOL. I always still have a stick battery with me, for backup, but it is also useful to show people when I am using something that doesn't really look like a cig. People that are just starting usually want something that looks like a cig. I would definitely keep ANYthing that is still working as a back up. You NEVER know when the batts will die, it is totally unpredictable, so you can never have too many backups.

I Don't Know How To Vape Properly After Two Weeks
juliery replied to Hank's topic in General Vaping Discussion
coughing up slime is normal the first few weeks and even longer for some people....it is your lungs clearing out. And everyone is right, you have to inhale much more slowly and steadily than with smoking. I inhaled for 30 years, 2-3ppd, and never had a cough or clearing my throat with smoking. When I started vaping I would cough a bit, but nothing worth mentioning. I have never had any issues with smoking related illness/issues, thank God. I just hope all the years of smoking isn't gonna bite me in the rear down the road. I guess all the coughing, etc. just totally depends on the person and your body. I hope you are able to use up all that nic juice faster than 10 years since it loses it strength in about two years. I would love to have a huge supply in case there is ever a ban, but since you can really only have two years worth at a time, it sorta stinks. I wish I could have a 20 yr supply that would stay good that long....I would do it in a heartbeat.....except the flavors, what tastes good one day doesn't necessarily seem appealing in a month. But food flavorings won't ever be banned, or the other supplies since they are used for numerous other purposes. Good luck and over 3 weeks not smoking is a HUGE accomplishment, CONGRATS!! -
It is a whole other device....because I got sick and tired of charging those stupid stick batteries all day long. I was a heavy smoker, and now a heavy vapor. I was alternating SIX of those XL stick batteries AND using a PT and still would be charging batteries all day and night. It was ridiculous for me. Now I got two 750mah KR808D batteries.... I got this kit, which is totally compatible with all KR808 cartos.....http://www.cigeasy.com/product_p/elegant1.htm The batteries last MUCH longer than the normal stick ones, and with that usb turbo charger they are fully charged in 2 hours....even though they are much larger capacity. The mod jolly is making me is an ENTIRELY different device. I wanted it because I have HUNDREDS of 808 cartos, so he is making me a killer variable voltage mod, with a 808 fitting so I can keep using all the cartos I have. You can find Jolly if you go onto my profile, then in my friends you will see him. IF you want to contact him you can just message him. There are you tube reviews of people with his mods that are thrilled with them. He makes some great stuff, as do other people. I happened to "meet" him on here, in chat, and he answered my million questions, still does, and I really appreciate that. I have learned TONS about batteries and devices and all kinds of e cig related things from him. He is a good guy, easy to deal with, and I appreciate not buying from a vendor, who just gets the stuff through someone who makes them anyway, and then they charge more. Like the Tekk mod goes for $160 on various sites....he makes them for $100 including shipping, so you can't beat that. Plus if something ever breaks, you know who to go to in order for it to be repaired, and most things can be repaired. The good thing about the mods in my opinion is that when the batteries are dead, like finished dead, you just buy new batteries, you don't have to replace the ENTIRE device. Anyway, I hope that helps.

geez, ignore my numerous typos....I need sleep, LOL

we tried to set off our smoke alarm with vaping. Both my husband and I were blowing clouds of vapor at it continuously and NOTHING. Smoke detectors are supposed to detect smoke and heat. Vapor, while warm in your mouth, but the time it is by the detector is not hot enough, and it doesn't produce smoke particles. This same detector we tried to set off has gone off from a mildly burnt piece of toast in the toaster AND also when it has gotten really warm with baking an extended amount of time. We just fan it and open a window. But for instance, the bathroom is like an equal distance from it, as is our laundry room, and the heat and steam from either of those places doesn't set it off. Assuming an airplane smoke/heat detector is a similar device I am guessing it wouldn't. BUT there is a way around the whole thing. You do NOT have to exhale vapor like you do with smoke. You can just swallow the vapor. Smoke you exhale because you would start coughing most likely with an substantial drag. But the vapor doesn't do anything to harm you by NOT exhaling it. Just like when people get breathing treatments in a hospital....that is all it is, salt water (saline solution) and medicine, and they don't exhale it, they aren't even supposed to. Inhaling vapor and not exhaling it will not harm you in the least little bit. I do it all the time in restaurants and other places where I don't want to blow billowing clouds of vapor. You could also make sure you blow it away from any detector, at the ground, etc. it would dissipate long before it could reach any detector.

The stick style batteries should be fine for your use,.....I would have 3 of them though, for your weekend use. Only because they take 3-4 hours to charge. My husband smoked about what you do and he is fine with the normal "cigarette looking" stick batteries for at work, where he just vapes during breaks, and here and there. Then on his way home, a 35 min drive, he vapes more. He can use like 2 cartos in a day. I, on the other hand, was rotating SIX of the stick style batteries, two chargers AND using a passthrough and it sucked. I was a heavy smoker though, 2-3ppd for 30 years. How long a carto lasts depends a lot on the carto. Even when you have five all bought together, doesn't mean they hold the same amount of liquid or last the same amount of time. I go through 8-10 a day. I carry a case with like 12 filled cartos, and the batteries. The only carto I have ON a battery is the one I am currently using. I know on certain sites where they sell cases some of them say that they hold a fully assembled carto/battery, so I guess you CAN do that, I just don't. I keep the cart condoms on the cartos till I use them. Any PCC I have ever had (didn't like it though, took just as long to charge in car charger, so I would just leave them there) or seen only holds the batteries without the carto on them. But there could be others that do hold them assembled, don't really know the answer to that as I didn't care for lugging around yet another kind of case. Now I am using a riva style device, but for my KR808 cartos....they are 750mah, and I get less than 5 hours from one...about 4 1/2....but other people that don't vape as much can get 8-12 hours. But I can also kill an XL stick style battery in 45 mins first thing in the morning. SO when I am at home, on my computer, watching tv, etc...I use my passthrough on my netbook. I am FINALLY, after almost a year, getting a mod, so that should solve most of my problems. You can totally carry the assembled battery/carto at school for use between classes, etc. If you get that kind of starter kit, with a couple long or xl batteries, that should be sufficient to start with and then you could gauge from there if you need another battery, how long it lasts you, etc. I would not get anything under a 280mah.....personally I would do the XL 380mah just to be safe....still looks like a cig, just longer. I ended up with 3 XL starter kits, (my husband swiped one of the chargers). We also bought single batteries just for backup. So total, between both of us we have 15 stick batteries......but now I just use the two 750's, the passthrough and very soon my mod. I do keep one of the 380's in my case, just for backup. I try to be prepared for anything, LOL. I think the main thing is just to start with something reasonable and then gauge your use from there and figure out what would be best. It does take some experimenting around. Anything you choose will be better than smoking. Welcome and good luck!!

Like I said, some people are more sensitive than others. My parents didn't ever allow smoking in their house. My mom says she can smell the exhaled vapor sometimes if I am sitting right next to her. Fortunately it doesn't bother her. But if it did I just wouldn't vape in their house, I would just go out like I did with smoking. For 30 yrs I went outside to smoke in sub zero temps, when it was hot and humid etc., so I would really have no problem with vaping outside. I never started vaping in order to get around not being able to vape in places where I wasn't permitted to smoke. In someone else's home or property I respect whatever rules they impose, whether it be about vaping/smoking, or where I can eat or drink, etc. My parents make everyone remove shoes the moment you enter their home too, fine with me. NO ONE is permitted to eat or drink anywhere other than at their dining room table too. So if they said no vaping, that is fine. Actually they are SO thrilled with me not smoking they would probably just move a few feet away. I am lucky though, while they (mostly my mom) can smell certain liquids it in no way bothers them nor do they think it is a bad smell or anything. I have problems with perfumed products, so I totally understand someone who is sensitive to a scent. You know though, I find it funny that with vaping, someone would expect you to just not do it around them, BUT if their perfume or cologne made you violently ill (I get migraines and vomit from strong perfumes.....EVERYTHING I use is unscented or like I use vinegar or other things to clean) how many people you think would stop wearing perfume? I mean that is totally unnecessary too. I have had to leave many functions and areas due to people wearing perfumes. There was a segment on 20/20 about it...apparently it is a preservative used in many perfumes that makes people sick, much like MSG in food....which also makes me violently ill. So I would TOTALLY respect someone being sensitive to any odor from my e cig......I wish people respected the fact that their perfume makes me sick! I don't NEED to vape around people who get sick from the smell and they don't NEED to wear perfume either....and it isn't that I just don't like the smell, it makes me sick, to the point of being violently ill. The bad thing is that the scent/chemicals, stay in your nasal passage even after the person leaves, so it isn't just a matter of walking away and all is well. It takes hours to stop bothering me. But in a larger space, like a restaurant, if we are seated right next to someone where I can smell perfume, we just ask to be seated somewhere else.....I would like to see what would happen if I demanded they leave. But smokers and anything that resembles smoking is frowned upon, where spraying perfume all over yourself is viewed as some sort of positive, luxury, desirable thing, even if it bothers other people, and I know I am not the only person who gets sick from that.

I too bought all the stick "cigarette looking" batteries at the beginning. I was a very heavy, nervous smoker for 30 yrs 2-3 ppd and could blow through the stick batteries in well under an hour. Like 30-45 mins, ESPECIALLY when driving....or watching tv. I was rotating 6 of those batteries. I use KR808 devices and had accumulated between my husband and myself hundreds upon hundreds of cartos....so I didn't want to switch to an ego or some other device that the 808 cartos wouldn't work on. I think for most people starting we want something that resembles a cigarette as close as possible. But even the XL batteries do not have a good battery life even though they say 4-6 hours vaping....I guess if you smoked half a pack a day or something that might be true, but i got NOTHING near that kind of battery life. Now I have basically the 808 version of the riva....it is 750mah, and fully charged I get under 5 hours life, even though others get 8-12 (which is how it is marketed). I wouldn't get anything with less mah than this. The good thing is that with the turbo charger these batteries are fully charged in two hours. I don't know if I would have liked it in the beginning because it looks nothing like a cigarette. It is shorter and thicker, and it comes in gold or black, so doesn't look at all like a cig. BUT it is much better battery life than the small stick type batteries. The flavors vary A LOT. The same flavor from 5 different vendors will all be different. I too am into the coffee type flavors...cappuccino, pumpkin spice, white chocoate, etc....they are smoother type flavors, not sticky sweet. In the beginning I liked the fruity flavors. The flavor thing sort of evolves...what you like in the beginning may not be what you like down the road as your taste buds recover from the smoking. You might also want to stick to vendors of liquid like vapor renu (vaporrenu.com) where you can get double and triple flavor, 4 different levels of thoat hit and various other options. They custom blend all their liquids, per your order, when you order. Many other places give you a choice of mg and that is about it...it is all just premixed, prepackaged stuff. I haven't had anything yet from vapor renu that I didn't at least like....so far none that I won't vape or dislike. Right now I am vaping the aforementioned three flavors...alone and in various combinations with each other.....I get their stuff regular strength, can't even imagine it double or triple flavor. Another great thing is the price, they are the cheapest price I have found anywhere, but the best liquid. But flavor is very personal and subjective. Don't be afraid to try flavors because really the stuff I am vaping a year ago I would NEVER have thought I would be vaping. It is a journey and it does change over time. But that is part of the fun. Like everyone says, no flavor tastes like tobacco....mainly because no matter what you do, you aren't burning tobacco, and that is part of the taste of a cig. Plus a huge part of taste is smell and there just is nothing that smells like a cig except a cig. But that really turns out to be a good thing. I NEVER EVER thought I could quit smoking. I tried everything through the years and even during the various "quittings" I knew it wouldn't last...I missed the ACT of smoking. To me that is the best thing about vaping....I get to do the inhaling, exhaling, having the thing in my hand, etc. Blowing the vapor is about as close as you could get to blowing smoke.....I love it, so does my husband, he was a much lighter smoker so while he really likes vaping, I love it. I can't say enough about it. Anyway, welcome, glad you are making a healthier choice for yourself!! Lots of great people and info here!

I was going to suggest Ebay or craigslist as well since many people might want them for candy, baking or other food flavoring. Maybe they work better for that purpose....since that is what they were actually intended for. I would try that.....on ebay you could probably get more money, but on craigslist you could unload them faster. The ONLY issue which I don't know about, is there are rules about selling opened consumable products, because of course they could be tampered with. You don't want someone getting them and then saying they got sick and OMG you must have done something to them. SO the sealed, unopened stuff, that would be easy, don't know about the opened stuff, maybe you can find someone who DOES like them and do some kind of trade or something?

You can buy a drip tip for kr808 cartos, so basically you are keeping the carto wet at all times, thereby producing more vapor etc. This place has them in a bunch of colors for only $2.49 each...you can use them on a bunch of different devices.......http://www.alvinecigs.com/Transparent-Drip-Tip-Joye510-DSE901-Kr808-p/transparent510drip.htm......I only use KR808 devices, only because I have hudreds and hundreds of cartos that I refuse to just toss away just to change to another kind of battery. I sometimes just leave the cap off the carto when I am just sitting here and keep adding a certain flavor into the filler if I don't feel like switching to a new carto with a different flavor. However, I don't mind just switching cartos....with the direct dripping, the fact that you have to keep dripping like 4 drops just to get 8 drags, that would be far more tedious than using a carto for an hour or more and switching it. I just can't see having to keep dripping every few minutes. Just seems so messy and time consuming. Like my husband could never do that at work. They don't care at all if he vapes, but if he were continually have to use both hands to direct drip, no way would they tolerate that.....but he works with his hands. I am going to order some of these drip tips...>BUT I want them more for the air flow. If you vape without the cap on the carto, you get better vapor, easier draw, etc, because it is all open not having to be forced through the tiny hole in the cap. SO, I would like some of these tips for that reason. I am getting a variable voltage mod from Jolly that will have the 808 fitting and work with all my cartos. Once my cartos are used up THEN I might switch to another style battery, but even then I would only use cartos. The only reason I would switch to another style of battery would be because you have more options as far as the mods. Then again as long as Jolly will build a mod with the 808 fitting, I guess it doesn't matter much what connection I have, LOL.

It totally depends on the liquid and how strong the flavor it. Like there is certain coffee e liquid my husband vapes and I can smell a sweet smell when he exhales either VERY close to me, or in the car or other small confined space. He says the same about my pumpkin spice. I can also usually smell his grape and cherry, just like a faint fruit smell. These are food grade flavorings and it makes sense, because taste is related to smell. If you squeeze your nose shut and vape, and keep your nose shut all the way through the exhale, there is NO flavor...you can't taste without smell. So flavorings, especially the stronger and more distinct flavorings will have a smell, just as some liquids smell VERY strong in the bottle. But then the less strong, more mellow type flavors, like white chocolate, those you can't smell really from exhaled vapor. Also some people are much more sensitive to smell and can smell things other people don't smell.

Ego Tank Conundrum (And New Carto Issues)
juliery replied to AimeeG's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I don't know anything about the tank, but I do know a lot about cartos. I ONLY use cartos and have literally hundreds on them from many different vendors....empties as well as prefilled that have been washed, etc. I do NOT use the bottom fill method, it is just too messy, too much waste. i take the cap off the top and fill by dripping into the top. There is a dramatic difference, even in the exact same batch as to the amount of liquid they will hold. A completely clean/dry one in my experience will hold between 16-30 drops....I am talking regular sized cartos. Obviously the ones with more liquid in them you can vape for a longer amount of time. I go through easily 8 of them a day....but I prefill them so I make sure i always have dozens of them ready to go. Now I never get them to that burning taste.....when you use them a lot you can tell before you ever get to that point that they are getting dry. For one thing when they are really nice and full they make that crackling sound...like snapping and popping, sizzling, however you want to describe it. Anyway, they start producing less vapor and the sizzling sound gets less and less, and once you are really used to using them, you can just see all the signs that it is running low,and of course taking into consideration how much and long you have been using it. Anyway, I think a lot of it is a matter of just getting used to a particular thing and knowing how it works etc. That whole tank, battery, atty thing, omg, what a disaster! I would write whoever you got the cartos from and tell them they suck and you would like an exchange....OF ALL of them....including the ones you tried to use. ANY decent vendor will exchange them and if they don't you know to never deal with them again. I totally believe you can get a whole bad batch. This stuff is made in China....they don't exactly have the highest standards and quality control. We have gotten 5 packs of cartos where none of them worked...tried them on all different batts, PTs, etc....nothing, dead. Then we have gotten some where just one is bad. I always write whoever I got them from and have NEVER had a problem with getting replacements and so far no one has even wanted the bad ones back....of course those were a few cartos, not 50. I would also mention that you want to be compensated for the return shipping costs. YOU should NOT have to eat the cost of mailing back defective products. Usually you will be compensated in the form of free product, but whatever, you should not have to pay for that. I think you can get dead, bad, not properly functioning products as a batch, mixed into a batch, just isolated stuff, etc. For instance I ordered an Elegant Easy starter kit from cigeasy.com.....both batteries appeared to be charged when I got them. I put them each on the charger for the 8 hours as suggested even though the charger indicated they were charged, but whatever, if that somehow helps the battery then fine, I will do it. The instructions said that they need to be charged before initial use, no matter what the indicator says. Okay, so anyway, after that I used the one battery until it was dead. The weird thing was that the indicator light on the battery, never did that repeated blinking thing....it just stopped working. Well I was not familiar yet with them, so I put it on the charger BUT again the light never blinked, the indicator light on the usb turbo charger remained green. Okay, so it is on there while I am using the second battery....so when that one died it did blink repeatedly. I put it on the charger and immediately the light on the battery blinked a bunch and then the indicator on the usb turned red. So I try to use the other battery...the one that never blinked, etc....nothing. SO I write Frank at cig easy, and he says he tests every battery before it is shipped, that is part of the fun of his job, and that this product is a solid performer, with few problems. Well, guess what, this is one of the few problems. So I explain to him that by just sticking a carto on it and trying it he would NOT have known there was any problem. It worked just fine, until it died and then wouldn't take a charge. So unless he used it, then put it on a charger he wouldn't ever know it had THIS particular problem. Anyway, I returned the defective battery, he sent me a new one at the same time and a few prefilled cartos for my trouble and the new battery came and everything is perfectly fine. SO even with vendors checking things they can miss issues, and with cartos of course they can't test them at all.....so there will be DOA cartos and just plain messed up cartos. THAT is about the ONLY issue I have with these products...the qualit control sucks. If our stupid government would stop being jerkwads just trying to dismiss and ban things, there is actually money to be made, jobs to create, by making the stuff HERE instead of us being FORCED to import and buy chinese products. Think of the jobs that could be created. Of course that would likely increase the price since our minimum wage is FAR higher than what workers are paid in China. BUT I think MOST people would be willing to pay a bit more to get GOOD reliable products. If anyone was smart, they would get this going here.....there is no reason these things can't be made here, and in general we have much better quality control and standards. Anyway, contact the vendor immediately. I hope you have a MUCH better day vaping!!! -
I have been right next to cops using my gold elegant easy, but they looked at me and looked away again....didn't get pulled over. I think here it isn't really an issue, because they sell e cigs at malls, gas stations, smoke shops, etc. I guess it would be different if I was driving erratically or speeding or some other thing that would indicate a problem, but I would just explain what it is. I have no clue what a "c*^&%" pipe looks like, I have only seen like that type of stuff on A&E watching Intervention....but never seen anything that looked like anything I have, or like what we will have with the mods. I wouldn't really care since they could test my stuff all day long, and then I can explain what it is, and perhaps educate someone. It DOES sort of concern me that things like that could be another argument against e cigs....that police are wasting time checking out nothing, when they could be spending it doing something that is important. Or God forbid they are wasting time like this and someone else is waiting for help while they are messing around with nothing. I also think if you are clearly NOT hiding what you are doing when a cop is right there and it is clear that you know they see you they are less likely to think you are doing something you shouldn't be since most people would look nervous or like they are trying to conceal something. I do think a certain amount of it does depend on your age. I think they would view a middle aged woman driving a van a little differently than say a 25 y/o guy driving a sports car. There is a certain amount of profiling and assessing they do. I think it depends on a bunch of stuff. Two years ago I had to go to a laundromat because my washer was broken...a 15 y/o neighbor girl went with to help me because I can't carry baskets of laundry. On the way home I took her out to eat, picked up some prescriptions, etc. so afterward, about 9pm we are at a stoplight and there is a cop on the passenger side of the car. Well this girl is going on and on...."omg Julie, look how hot that cop is, omg, I want him, omg, he is so hot, he is so cute, omg, look at him" and the whole time she is staring at him and then looking away toward me and then glancing over at him. So I told her to STOP it...the cops in that town (literally blocks away from where I lived in a neighboring town) are notorious for giving people a hard time for nothing. So the light turns green and I go and the cop then gets behind me, next thing, flashing lights. So I KNEW I had done NOTHING wrong. So I get out my license, registration, insurance card, he comes up to me and starts asking a million questions...he is walking all around the van shining his flashlight in and ASKING me what all the stuff in the van was....well one thing was a computer monitor that I was bringing to my parents the next day. So he is like, what is that? where did you get it? It was craziness. He had me get out of the car and he called for a female officer. Then he was asking why the passenger kept looking at him and then nervously looking away, why would she do that if we had nothing to hide?? So I am like she is a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL...she thought you were hot and she was checking you out. Well he was NOT amused, he told her that she should NOT do that with anyone...that it can be flat out dangerous and invite the wrong attention, and it can create a lot of trouble, like the situation we were now in. So the female officer comes, pats me down and they are like going through everything in my car, which I allowed them to do. It was well below freezing, and I had to go through all of this, OUTSIDE in the freezing cold. Oh, and then the cop tried to tell me I couldn't smoke, I said, unless it is against some law that I don't know about, I AM smoking and I did. I got REALLY pissed and told the cop exactly what I had been doing, that we were on the way home after these errands, I have NEVER had a ticket in my life, I have NEVER been arrested or in trouble in my life for ANYTHING. I explained exactly who the girl was and that she was just being a kid....>I agreed on his points about her behavior and said I would talk to her. He had me there for over AN HOUR....FOR NOTHING. Obviously he ended up having to let me go, I mean I was doing nothing and other than acting goofy my passenger had done nothing. My point of telling this is that you can get pulled over for ANYTHING that a cop finds suspicious and I think it wouldn't necessarily be the vaping but the behavior. If you feel self conscious and you are acting nervous, or like you are trying to hide something or looking at them like you are hoping they won't pull you over, then you probably will get pulled over. I think in most major cities and metro areas cops know about e cigs...BUT if you are behaving like you are doing something wrong, that is more what catches their attention. Just like in a store they will start watching you if you are glancing around or acting weird....they think you are up to something. SO my thing is that I openly hold my e cig totally visibly in my hand, that I am in NO way trying to hide anything. If I was using illicit drugs I would not just do it out in the open like that and I don't think most people would. Anyway, it is overall behavior and then if there are other factors, like maybe super loud music, acting obnoxious as if intoxicated in some way, driving in some abnormal way, etc. I wouldn't really care if I got pulled over, other than the time wasting aspect. Anyway, just my opinion....if you do get pulled over, ultimately you won't get in trouble anyway since you aren't doing anything illegal, so I wouldn't worry about it.

oh and when I typed that crackling remark....right after I hit add reply...I got a crack/snap so loud it scared me, LOL. Seriously, made such a loud pop noise I nearly tossed the thing. I think it is because this juice has VG in it, which is thicker thereby making a thicker and louder crack. It was funny though....well after my heart stopped pounding, LOL

I thought it was pretty clever myself, but that is only because I am not one of those witty on the spur of the moment kind of people. I think of great comebacks and witty remarks like 3 days later, LOL

Did You Drop Analog Cold Turkey Or Both Smoke And Vape?
juliery replied to genieangel's topic in New Vapers Forum
I vape in stores and restaurants all the time...THAT being said I do not make any kind of production about it. I don't blow clouds of vapor....I usually direct it at the floor OR I just swallow it, since there is no real reason to exhale it like there is with smoke. We haven't had any issue at all. If anyone has said anything it has always been an expression of interest or a smoker asking us if it is one of those "electric cigarette things like at the mall". You wouldn't believe how many smokers have ONLY seen the ones at the malls, that of course are a rip off, totally overpriced, or only seen them on tv and then they are THRILLED to learn they can buy them online for MUCH cheaper and better quality. When I am in a store or restaurant I see no reason to antagonize die hard non smokers or cause any problem. So far in almost a year no one has ever told us we couldn't vape or anything even vaguely like that. -
Another Newbie Ego Question About The Draw...
juliery replied to easilyamused's topic in New Vapers Forum
I have also vaped without the cap back on my carto, for no particular reason...the only thing I don't like is that you are more likely to get a mouthful of juice. I didn't necessarily notice any difference in flavor BUT with the cap on you are sucking air through the slots at the bottom of the carto (if you look there are two teeny tiny holes where the battery and carto meet, plus the ones at the bottom of the battery itself) PLUS the hole in the cap, so you are basically sucking through a tiny straw vs a big wide straw at the top. So it makes sense that the draw is easier, which I agree it is. I don't think anyone would disagree, it is just an airflow fact. HOWEVER, not using the cap makes it a potentially messier experience since a little too hard a draw with a little too wet filler will get you a tongue full of juice. Never mind the ghetto look, LOL. I think what the other person was saying was to get a drip tip...NOT for actually using as a drip tip, but you put it on the top of the carto instead of the cap....thereby keeping the opening big but it not looking ghetto. They only cost like $5 and you don't have to drip. THEN when and if you DO decide to DD you have the tip for that purpose too. I have considered doing that...not to DD because I have no interest in DDing...but to not have to mess with the caps at all, and for the airflow issue.
