I coughed like a lunatic the first couple times I vaped. I was drawing directly into my lungs, WAY too hard with WAY to high an MG level. My husband had gotten some 36 mg carts which I totally didn't pay attention to and my throat hurt something terrible. When I started vaping I had a VERY hard time learning to do the slow steady draw thing....I was trying to vape the same way I smoked. I was a heavy smoker but I smoked light cigs. So once I got my OWN supplies, 18 mg, and started paying attention to the dragging/drawing/inhaling I have had zero problems. Never had my chest tighten, other than from coughing like an absolute lunatic. I really thought I was going to choke myself to death the first time. I had read NOTHING and he didn't tell me to do anything different from smoking so I puffed away like a nut. So it could be a variety of issue...could be the stength of the liquid, the way she was inhaling, the PG level, who knows. But to be safe if she is interested she could try a VG base...personally I don't like it, but since she has nothing much to compare it with she might not care. I think the most likely cause is the nicotine level, that is what killed me....that and inhaling way too much at one time.

I really never thought I would quit. I was great at quitting but equal great at quitting quitting. I really didn't think I would ever stop. I am beyond thrilled with vaping. My husband and I discuss it frequently, how we can't believe how long and how much we smoked and how great this is. Yes, for the most part it was easy....took awhile for me to really find a flavor I loved, but during that time I was okay with a bunch of the other flavors. My first fave was root beer, the irish cream and then the cappuccino. Now I am just stuck on the cap, I mix two a certain way, and i love it. It was fun ordering all those different things and then waiting for them to come, etc. Like a little kid waiting for santa, LOL It infuriates me that state by state the damn government is trying to ban them. I do NOT understand how they can claim to be SO worried about potential health concerns yet NOT ban cigarettes that everyone KNOWS are dangerous. It is just all about money, like everything else. I wouldn't even mind if they just imposed a "sin tax" and then went away and left everyone alone. It is just so ridiculous. I just hope that there are no problems....but if I would have to travel and buy supplies in bulk, I would. I will NOT stop vaping. When my 6 batteries start dying I will definitely get one of the Bloogs....unless there is something better by then, LOL. Thanks for your hard work on the review....convinced me, LOL. We can't all be trying everything and it is great to be able to tell each other what we find. Seems like everyday there is someone new selling e cig supplies of some sort. I got my new passthrough yesterday, WOOOHOOOO....I just LOVE the passthroughs.

I use cartomizers and don't count drips either. I just use however much so it looks a little juicy. Anything more than that is too much, less and it dries up faster. Each cart isn't identical as far as the amount of filler and sometimes it seems packed harder, so I loosen it with a big fat embroidery needle. But counting drops I don't think is necessary....it is more about getting the thing nice and juicy but NOT that if you turn it upside down it comes out. It should be saturating the filler but not puddled. When I used to count drops some carts could take 9 drops and others could take 19, just totally depends because it also depends how dry it is when you start.

those automatic blood pressure machines are totally unreliable....even the not free ones. My husband and I had a wellness exam...our insurance made us do it, even though I go to numerous doctors on a regular basis because I have a number of chronic health problems...nothing affected or connected with smoking and/or vaping. So they take my blood pressure with the machine a couple times and it was crazy high like yours was. So the nurse asks me if I normally run a high blood pressure, NOPE, I run a VERY low blood pressure...like normally my doctors take it manually repeatedly and joke am I sure I am alive??? So the nurse says....the automatic ones are very unreliable on ppl who run low BP....they just have a hard time registering something out of the norm on the low level. Stupid. So she retakes it and my BP is 80/50 retook it again manually and it is even lower.

awesome info! My husband and I use the KR808 supplies as well. I have SIX batteries in rotation and can easily blow through two with just my morning coffee. I was a heavy smoker and I am a VERY heavy vaper. My husband on the other hand in the evening will finally break out a second battery. He was a much lighter smoker as well. On Valentine's Day last year my husband bought us a starter kit, and it just happened to be the KR808 mainly because he didn't want to have to mess with atomizers and all that stuff. I am the one in charge of washing carts, refilling, etc. I only vape one flavor, my custom mix of cappuccino, so no big deal, I just refill like 50 of them all at once and I am done. He on the other hand vapes like 8 flavors so I have to sort and organize and actually pay attention to what I am doing with his, LOL. I think in the entire almost year we have tossed MAYBE 10 carts....all the rest are perfectly fine. I have hundreds more that I am not even using, they aren't even in our current rotation. I vape A LOT so I have about 60 of them in constant rotation. My husband has hundreds because of all the flavors. Yesterday he gave me a gallon ziploc half filled with used carts to wash. OMG, it was crazy. I am limited in my mobility due to many chronic health problems, so it would be ridiculous for me to have to go up and down stairs to boil carts. Well a $10 hot pot solved that problem....I boil them in the bathroom right next to my bedroom, works perfectly. I use the hot pot for ONLY this purpose. I can't believe the gunk that comes out of those things. I boil them several times until the water is TOTALLY clear and there is no odor, about every 5 refills. About every 10 refills I do that process followed by an hour or two soak in Everclear, followed by the boiling process again. Amazing what those "disposable after one use" carts can withstand. I use a big fat embroidery needle...it is like 4 inches long and really thick...like thick yarn can fit through the eye of it no problem....I use it to get the caps off and also to fluff the filler and realign that middle piece where the coil is at. I only have to prime my carts when I use one of the short kind of batteries. When I use the XL ones I don't have to prime them. I use both auto and manual batteries and I start vaping right away. I prefer the auto batteries BUT they do seem prone to more issues....like not shutting off when you stop inhaling, etc. Then again the manuals I have had buttons just stop depressing...so I assume whatever they are depressing against behind the button goes bad. It will be a LONG time before I can justify buying new carts, we have at least 1000 of them....BUT the batteries are another story. I can't wait to get this battery you are describing. The flip top carts sound like a great idea, although I don't mind popping off the caps. I don't boil those, but when I am boiling the carts, I use a large old pill bottle and put all the caps/o rings in it, with hot water and a drop of dish soap and swish them around and let them sit for awhile. I have also given them an occasional swish with the everclear, especially if either of us has had a cold or something like that. I would LOVE to have a battery that would last longer!!! Having to drag around 6 whenever I plan to be out for more than an hour or two is kind of a pain. I want to know if there are rapid chargers for these batteries, to me THAT is the biggest pain. I have two chargers and I either need another two OR I need a charger that works faster. I am going to go to that site and bookmark it right now for when I need batteries!! Thanks for all that info!!

I figure it this way, there is NO way that even with vaping like a maniac, which I do, that it can be anywhere near as dangerous as smoking 2+packs a day. I don't work, due to chronic illness, so I had the freedom to chain smoke pretty much whenever I was awake. I could never stay with quitting because I am a nervous smoker. I have chronic pain issues and I know it is idiotic and sounds stupid, but smoking really calmed me down. It is very hard being in pain every minute of your life and all the meds on earth do NOT take away all the pain, the best I hope for is to be able to just sit without wanting to scream. Anyway, the main problems from smoking come from the actual smoke....all the potential breathing issues are directly related to the smoke, then of course the cancer is related to the smoke and the chemicals. So I figure removing a few thousand chemicals AND the smoke, it has to be MUCH less dangerous. Obviously vaping has to pose SOME risk, however small, we are putting chemicals into our bodies, but I know I won't, can't and don't want to stop and I am not even considering it. I did have the throat burn/pain issue when I go above 18mg, so now that is what I use. I had to get some flavor once in 24 and I actually couldn't use it....within a few minutes my throat was killing me. I don't care for the VG either, it just doesn't taste as good to me. I vape constantly. I have a netbook next to my bed (which is where I mainly sit) because of severe back and bone problems and I have a passthrough plugged in and vape away. When I am out of the house I can EASILY go through 4 batteries in an evening. I use the KR808 stuff, and the XL batteries. When these die I will get a couple XXL batteries and see how those compare. I have 6 batteries that I use when I am not at home. I just wish they charged faster because I only have 2 chargers and sometimes have two charging and then two waiting to be charged and it is pain. I agree with everyone else, I do vape more mostly because I can vape in places I couldn't smoke, like my parents house, friends, restaurants, etc. I love it. I didn't have any breathing issues or any issues related to smoking and I was a heavy smoker for 30 years with a few years taken off in there for times I quit. I agree to with the fact that you do sort of get an odd "feeling" when you vape too much and you stop. I have gotten that lightheaded somewhat nauseated feeling from vaping too much, which I also got from smoking too much. So then I stop for a couple minutes and it goes away and then I pay more attention to what I am doing. That maybe happens once a week, if that.

It was VERY hard for me to get used to that slow drag thing....I STILL have to mentally remind myself, almost 11 mos later, especially first thing in the morning. I smoked for 30 years, over 2 packs a day. I use 18 mg strength. I vape only cappuccino flavor, a mixture from two different vendors that I concocted, LOL. I probably tried 50 flavors before I arrived at this. I was a chain smoker and now I am a chain vaper....sometimes I actually doze off with the thing in my hand, hey, at least I can't start a fire, LOL. I have found the opposite, if you drag real hard it just screws it all up and you get less strength. I think the slow steady drag produces a much bigger stronger amount of vapor and strength. Anything stronger than 18 mg I find hurts my throat after a couple hours....like it gets a really raw feeling, like when you smoke too many cigarettes in too short a time. I use the KR808 style just because I am too lazy to mess with an atomizer and all that, just another supply I would have to make sure to always have enough of. To me the cartomizer is SO much easier. My husband had ordered our starter kit, and once we had that style it was easier to just stay with that than having a bunch of stuff that didn't work with each other. I do not throw my carts away, I refill them, boil them, soak them in everclear, and keep on using them. About every ten fills I give them a big cleaning and they are just like new again. I can easily get 25-30 drops in them. It also took me a long time to find a flavor I liked. It is hard to get used to something that tastes nothing like tobacco. My husband likes coffee, dark chocolate, sour green apple, cherry, watermelon, and he likes my cappuccino mixture too, but I try and keep him away from it, since it is the only one I will vape right now. SOMETIMES, VERY rarely I will vape a caramel mocha frappuccino one, but that is VERY seldom, like maybe once every 6 weeks. I also tried all those flavors plus pina colada, doc pepper, cola, lemon lime, lemon merangue, and then dozens of freebies like Kant (fake Kent), some fake cigar flavor (YUUUUUUCKKKKYYYY), cowboy, vanilla, root beer, irish cream and so many others I can't remember them all. Some were okay, but I just love my cap...nothing else tastes good to me anymore. So I guess I will just stay with this, unless I get sick of it and then I will figure out something else. I have so many liquids and carts of a million flavors, I am set for just about any preference, LOL. There is a place, gourmet vapor, and they have over a hundred flavors, plus you can create any flavor you want in any strength you want. The ONLY thing I didn't care for with theirs is that they are REALLY thick, like almost so thick they don't want to soak into the filler. BUT I mix their cappuccino with my other one, because their is a SUPER strong flavor and it adds just the right amount of kick to my normal cappuccino....plus mixed it is not thick. Anyway, really play around. You aren't going to hurt anything. If you don't like something you can wash it out and let the cart dry and fill it again with something else. Have fun!!!

I use cartomizers and it took me a LONG time to find a flavor I liked. I still kept all the ones I didn't like and my husband likes a lot of the flavors. He vapes a lot of different flavors but I vape ONE. Took me a long long time to find one and I found it on accident....I didn't even think I would like it but it was sent as a freebie with an order, and heck, for free I'll try anything. I had a VERY hard time in the beginning resigning myself to the fact that I would NOT get one EVER that actually tasted like a non menthol cigarette. So I decided to just try flavors that I like in real life, like sour apple, watermelon, cherry, peach, etc. For awhile I was into the fruits, and I REALLY HATED the RY4, butterscotch, caramel and all the super sweet flavors, yuck, just not my thing, they all tasted and smelled like burnt sugar to me, especially the caramel flavor. So one day I got a cappuccino cartomizer with an order and I REALLY loved it. Then I designed a logo for a eliquid vendor and he mixed me up some cappuccino and a couple other flavors as "payment"....his cappucino was SUPER strong and now I mix a little of that with the normal cappuccino liquid I buy and it is PERFECT for me. In the course of trying all these flavors we have accumulated easily 1000+ carts...it is crazy how many we have. I never threw them away because I figured they had to be refillable. So I searched around and found the youtube vids about washing them and now I have a whole system. In nearly a year we have tossed MAYBE 10 carts that have died. They really for the most part last a VERY long time. I have about 60 in constant rotation just for me. I refill them about 5 times (same flavor) before I boil them, about 10 times and they get the boil several times/soak in everclear/boil several more times treatment. The everclear soak REALLY does make a HUGE difference. Totally eliminates ALL odors and flavor from the fiber filler and totally cleans them. It is amazing to me the amount of people that throw away a prefilled cart after using it just once. I have ones that have been refilled dozens of times and one that I am actually keeping a record on...I have it marked with a sharpie marker, it has been refilled 50 times, boiled 10 times and soaked in everclear 5 times and it is still going strong. I read somewhere that one guy has one that he has refilled over 300 times and stopped counting. I am a VERY heavy vapor, and can easily go through 2-3 brand new carts in a day. So refilling/cleaning/soaking is saving me a TON of money PLUS then I get a flavor I like because I mixed it. I haven't gotten into totally mixing my own flavors from scratch only because I really have no need to. I love the flavor I am using and my husband likes all the ones he is using. I guess it would save money but at this point we are saving so much compared to smoking I see no need. Anyway, really play around with the flavors....there are just SO many out there. I do not like the ones that have the tobacco type undertones to them either. Even try ones you don't think you would like. I know there are a lot of e liquid places that even if they don't list it, if you write them they will send you like just a TINY bit of several different flavors so you can try them to figure out what you like. I ALWAYS emailed ppl at the beginning and asked for help, most people are VERY nice. I wrote a couple and just said I was having a really hard time trying to find a flavor I liked and was there any way to get a tiny amount of a bunch. I had several VERY nice vendors who helped me and I finally found something I LOVE. So don't be afraid to write people and ask. Most of them vape themselves and they totally understand and they WANT to help you. AND you will remember those people and buy future supplies from them!
