No, a different coil wouldn't make a tighter draw. Some tanks are very airy and more conducive to what's called direct to lung type of inhaling while most new vapers prefer mouth to lung (inhale into the mouth first, then inhale into lungs) like they did with their cigarettes. Those who use MTL (mouth to lung) type of draw typically like a tighter draw. A different tank that's known for tighter draws or MTL style of vaping might work better for you.
What might work with the drip tip you currently have on your tank is to change how you put your mouth on the mouthpiece. Don't put your mouth around the tip, but a little more like if you take a sip from a bottle of soda. That can restrict airflow without making you look funny.
