Does the heater make a big difference? Looking around a little, I am becoming intrigued with these. Thinking of other things I could clean with them. Might be worth getting into a little more expensive unit.

No idea. There are quite a few consumer models available marketed for cleaning jewelry. Functionally the same, I would assume. Industrially they have been used for a long time cleaning all kinds of things including circuit boards. I'm not advocating dumping your mod in one. Getting it dry would be a real problem. It does seem like a tidy, effortless, method.

This makes a lot more sense. When I worked with medical equipment the postulate was to return the instrument to original manufacturer specification regarding form, fit, and function. To me this just makes good sense. The timing here is really tragic however. Talking with a friend at a local B&M, a good number of shops in Michigan went out of business already because they were following the interpretation of not assisting the customer with advice.

They dynamics of airflow is a science in it's own right. I know of it from being part of a team designing oxygen generators that utilized a pressure swing absorption means of creating pure oxygen. My knowledge of the science is very limited beyond understanding that it is very involved. Many of these tanks are engineering wonders, IMHO. Changing the tip is one small part of the equation. The ego aio is designed through and through to deliver high level nicotine at a limited volume, mimicking an analog. Numerous considerations go into a cloud chasing machine. High VG content, low impedance coils with large surface areas to heat more juice at once, a high wicking capacity in the coil to supply enough juice, high constant velocity of air across the coil as well as to the receiver, as well as significant amperage to fuel the coil. I'm sure there are more considerations that I haven't discovered yet. I've only been at this a month and I already have a few different set ups for different vaping experiences.

I think some are. Even some of the reviewers I have seen on YT don't convince me that they understand what they are playing with. These are wonderful devices but they demand respect.

I taught her to be an independent thinker and I need to honor that even when the disagreement is with me. She is a sharp individual and I am sure she will make the right decision for her. I'm rattling on about the accuracy of the temperature control and they are going comatose.

Lol, I was a little more brutal than that. Told her to try breathing in any major city. I agree with you Squid, there's a point where being safe becomes ludicrous. I'm no fan of living in bubble wrap with a helmet. Anything is safer than driving to work.

My track record in regard to converting others is at a dead zero. My wife just says no and my oldest daughter has serious reservations. Her best friend and business partner is a pharmacist and she wants confirmation that vaping is perfectly healthy. To me that is a bizarre requirement, but I don't challenge it. Neither of them smoke enough to be have a great impact on their health. Sometimes attraction is better than promotion.

Another consideration is battery life. The lower the resistance the greater the current flow. In an evening of blowing clouds vaping under .5ohm, I can go through an 18650 pretty fast. Good to have another battery on the charger. When I'm out and about this is a consideration.

Today is an anniversary of sorts. One month vaping with two weeks analog free. Cravings are few and far between. Easy to dismiss as the memory of all the problems with that habit are still fresh. I have learned a lot in the last month. Greatly due to you folks here. It's hard to imagine myself as an analog user as my thoughts have shifted to the next flavor, mod, etc. I would like to try. The frequency of epiphanies are slowing down as well. I have also discovered that I am rather proud of my new habit, to the point of being eager to show off my equipment. That sounded lewd, lol, but you folks know what I mean.

The evolution of vaping will be interesting for sure. I see pro and anti in the media so far. I guess it will depend on which agenda sells more soda pop. The whole battery thing is a bit scary. Phones catching fire, things blowing up, etc. I'm personally no fan of sticking a 9V battery in my pocket that is shorted out. And now the FDA prohibits sellers from counseling with buyers. Amazing (sarcasm) scenario. Somewhat tangential to the origin of the thread, vaping is still holding on to an underground affect as well as a somewhat "bad boy" persona. Not sure how this will play out moving forward. A review of Chantix and a review of the latest mod are definitely two wholly different experiences on the web. I can see the anties contending that this affect is targeting minors. Personally, I find a lot of good information being published by reviewers although some of the presentations are somewhat guttural. Beyond that of course is the standard hyperbole which could play out in any direction. It is an interesting time to be a vapor!

Lol, Love it. Hard headed, probably a little OCD, and maybe eieio as well. And yes, I truly love vaping. Every aspect except of course the over politicization of the activity. That of course is becoming everything as of late. BTW, you are quite perceptive.

Update: After poking around for half of forever, I have found that these tanks can be used to produce a nice vape. It takes a bit of doing. 1. Must fill from the side. Top filling will flood the coil in a heart beat. 2. Must be careful to not overfill. 75% to 80% full is about max. 3. If flooding occurs after filling, turn the tank upside down for a bit and then blow hard to expel the juice through the air intakes. 4. Keep the wattage down. I find that using a max of about 3.5V on any coil does the best. 5. Don't drain the tank too low. If it starts popping, refill. Still not a stellar tank by any means, but they can be vaped without massive spitting using the above. I am still going to put on the screened tips for sure. They produce a rather cool vape but will produce a reasonable amount of vapor and actually very nice flavor.

@Adversarious1 Thank you for chiming in on this. I think I better admit I'm an EE by education, although that was back in the stone age of mostly tubes. I get the electrical physics but I was having difficulty wrapping my head around the heat production capabilities of different wire compounds. After reading a sit load of technical articles on this, I was able to grasp the difference in surface areas and heat dissipation of the different wire structures. I was not considering that it was the resistance itself that was causing the friction to develop the heat. Daaaaa. In the day, heat was the problem and avoiding it was key to something that would last over a day. This is the first application that I have worked with that purposely uses low resistance wire to produce heat. Now I get it. It isn't only heat intensity that is important, it is overall BTU at controlled temperatures. Love the technology!!!

Ok, then! Definitely got the syringes covered from many sources, lol. I still have a batch of those left over from when my appendix blew out. Ran around with drip bag on a pole for a month. At least they let me go home with the mess. Still got the pole too. Makes a great work light. But when I run out I have plenty of sources to reload!!

Today I am learning patience. Most of my online orders are coming directly from China. Estimated delivery time one month. Something to look forward to. By then it will probably be a total surprise!

@bebop Wonderful to hear! I'm an old person. Old people tell stories. It's just what we do. Kinda like a "kick stinkies" blog.

I have come to believe I like subtle flavors. That is only based on one experience where I picked up a bottle that was overwhelming. The flavors I like so far are: Mr. e-juice Pink Lady, Cyclone Dis Dat Ish, VTMN Island, and Miss Michigan Apple. All of these are subtle in flavor to me with a little sweet after taste. I'll keep pokin around and see if I can get a handle on all this. Kriticalmass.com sounds like a great starting point!
