I've got the older RDA or RTDA as some call it. I can't say buy it or no but mine really fits my vaping habits. It holds 2ml of liquid which lasts me a pretty reasonable amount of time. I have no problem taking just it to drive back and forth to work. I have a very rare work situation. There is just the owner and myself. The owner has never smoked and doesn't vape however he does "get it", completely. I can fill the reservoir as needed throughout the day. The flavor is top notch. I like a substantial thick cloud and it does that too. I can't call it a "could chaser" parse. It's not a Big Monster Beast King or anything like that. The flat clamps are fantastic for "flat" wire like the larger gauge claptons. I love how a single 4mm coil spans the air intakes. Last point is that it is a tank. All metal, no glass. No worries about short falls or bumps with that thing. It's a dripper that you don't have to drip often.

Lol, I'll bet. Next thing is piano wire. I've never worked with over 24ga. Having said that, I have a 0.27Ω build with 2x24-32 clapton in stainless that I absolutely love in a Pharaoh. Spaced just a tad. Very nice vape.

My wife and I have a "don't ask, don't tell" policy. It's good up to about a grand. I usually try to show her the stuff but she has no idea what she is looking at. She likes the smell of vaping and that is the extent of her interest. So, it's good and disappointing at the same time. So I tell the cats.

Smok TFV8 Baby Beast coil recommendations, please!

@Tam Ya know Tam...... Really sounds like you could be a good candidate for temp control. With the RBA head and a little stainless wire you could do that. Right now I'm vaping on a Pharaoh with a SS dual core clapton with temp control and getting a great vape. Really good fog, Great flavor. I can draw as much or as little as I like as it just doesn't get too hot. Just a thought. -

I'll work on that. Love the concept!!!!! -
Picked up a brand new old style tab meter/fire box. Not the mini. Found it at a B&M for $24.00. Was shocked!

You got that right. Not Suited for MTL Vaping, IMHO. I would not attempt it with any coil under .4Ω. Should come with a warning "DTL Only". -

Man, I am so new to this that I can't believe that what I am about to share isn't common knowledge, but.... Ya there's the but.... When I started getting into lower resistances and higher wattage I had to drastically change my vaping technique. Got my lips on the outside of the drip tip. Got my tongue out of the way and made a direct funnel to my lungs. I taste on the way out, so to speak. It's an amazing vape but much more direct than I thought DTL had to be. I can dry out in a heartbeat as well. Gotta watch that. -
I've chatted about this a little from time to time. Here goes the big leap of faith. This be us. I'm not trying to sell shows here. Sincerely just sharing.

I go in spurts with all my hobbies with the exception of playing music and that is because it's a group hobby which keeps me involved for the group. The woodworking has slowed as the house is in pretty good shape. We've had it for 20 years, it should be. I would like to source some exotic woods someday and play around a little with some small items. We are still using the trivets I made twenty years ago when I first put together the routing table, lol. Wood lasts for awhile. The nice thing about shinyitis is that it isn't terribly expensive. Something new.... about $30.00. Most hobbies something new is always a grand or more. With music I am pretty much break even between equipment and shows. Having said that, I look at the attys I have and the number of them that just sit on the shelf, and it doesn't make a lot of sense. I am really not a fan of having things just to have them. I guess I'll just have to see where it all goes. I have subscribed to DJlsb vapes and never miss a review

@Tam @Uncivil11 I think it will be awhile before I develop any stable preferences. Thinking about it the last little while, it is no surprise that in the beginning I needed something with really strong flavor to taste it at all. The citrus flavors would actually started giving me heartburn after awhile as well as become very bright and cutting. Vapor's tongue is something I am starting to get a handle on. How to switch back and forth between flavors, what to drink, and watching the temperature of my vapes. I've got six fruit DYI recipes I really am enjoying at this point. I still keep some citrus to shock the tongue from time to time. All in all it's going really good. It's a process.

I appreciate being thought of. I have too many. I really love building them and trying them. I think I have enough now though to just re-build and be happy.

Griffin 25+ has a nice RBA only deck. So does the Herakles RTA-2. This may be a long shot for you, but I'm enjoying the Pharaoh RDA. It has a 1~2 ml juice well and lasts me quite a while. It has a monster build deck that you can use anything from simple wire to crazy exotic builds in. The thing is solid as a rock and you can't really hose the wicking.

There's another one in the basement drying, lol. Might end up with three. Not sure yet.

One each leftover chunk of 1" oak. Ripped to 4cm. Passed four top sides through router table taking just a tad off to add a little detail. Cut a 9mm slot down the center. Viola!!! Attys sit on top and they don't fall down! Fifteen minute project.

Ahhhh Soooo! Good catch! and Great Share! I'm sure many of us will get to deal with this as well.

Which Fluke do you have? I have an ancient one from my days in the field and of course it won't read anywhere near the accuracy necessary for a coil. Those were the days when 100Ω was the white part of chicken **** and wasn't worth considering. @Uncivil11 I wouldn't sweat a couple hundredths of an ohm. You start varying more than 5 hundredths, it's worth looking into.

Oh that's funny! As I was typing my "don't trust my tab" comment your "don't trust your mod" post came in. Obviously we have all had different experiences. It makes things interesting for sure!
-
I don't trust my tab much. I've seen it get loopy from time to time. It also started getting hot after I dry burnt a couple of coils on it. I still use it for a stable build platform and will peak at the resistance reading, but I don't trust it. I trust my mods a lot more and they all ready pretty close to the same resistance with my attys.

I'm not rushing anything here. I'm just following what seems to be working best. Having said that, I am very surprised that my nic needs are dissipating so quickly. Anymore, I seem to be vaping for flavor. I figure if I happen to use less, that's great. If not, I'm not concerned.

Always good to hear about another successful mix! Been thinkin about taking my nic down to 3mg from 6 myself. The throat hit I used to enjoy is now becoming annoying and I'm slowing down a lot on my vaping. Would be nice if it worked out.
