First off, Welcome! That is a very interesting scenario. The "atomizer short" and hot mod bother me. You should not get that with a .38Ω build unless you are firing the thing for long periods of time. Forgive me if I mention something that is elementary to you but there are a few bases I want to cover. Did you check the resistance of the atty completely assembled after doing the build? Sometimes a coil can short out on the inside of the vapor chamber. Did you check the atty closely to make sure nothing is loose? I have received atties with loose posts which again could cause a short. Are you using a good high drain battery(s)? Your mod is taxing the batteries with about a 10A draw. You can simply google "Battery Mooch" to find charts of tested batteries for vaping. Once the "atomizer short" and hot mod problem is fixed, I would recommend starting at about 35 watts and then increasing the power until the flavor peaks. That will be your "sweet spot" for the build in regard to power applied. As you increase power the atty will also produce vapor faster. As you go beyond the sweet spot, the flavor will diminish and eventually start tasting like a "dry hit". Depending on the wire you used for the build, 38 watts could be a tad low for a .38Ω build. Per the 3.76V your mod is showing, the mod is doing an accurate job of applying 38 watts to the atty. Once you get the hang of building and finding the right power for the build, I'm sure you will find the flavor and vapor production much better than commercial coils. Takes a little experimenting.

Welcome! You stumbled into a good bunch of folks vaping.

The Pico is a real nice mod. It should come in power mode. No need to use the other modes. It has up and down buttons to adjust the power (watts). Pretty much like what you have.

Here's a little detail on mah. 5000 mah = 5 Ah (amp hours) if you multiply that times 60 you get 300 amp minutes. Multiply that times 60 again and you get 18000 amp seconds. Now, if you are drawing 10 amps from your battery for a three second puff you have just used 30 Amp seconds. Per that calculation you could get 600 puffs from that battery. And now the rest of the story. Batteries are almost always over rated. Actual mah is lower. Batteries get different actual mah life spans depending on how many amps are drawn. Mods will only discharge a battery so far. Average is down to about 3V. A more realistic estimate would be maybe 150 to 200 puffs from a decent battery. If you really want to understand batteries look up Battery Mooch on google. He tests batteries for vaping and has a lot of information published.

Not quite what you need. Mah is a measurement of how much current the battery should hold. This measurement will help you analyze how long the charge in a battery will last. It has little to do with how many amps the battery can discharge or calculating the power delivered to a coil. As @squid mentioned, 35 to 30 watts delivered to a .5Ω coil is a pretty average setting. There really is no simple way to calculate what wattage to set a mod at. The best procedure is start with a low wattage and slowly increase that wattage until you find a "sweet spot" for the coil. Higher wattage will cause your vape to loose flavor and start drying out. For the most part your mod should be regulated well enough to take care of any math regarding keeping it's battery in a safe operating range. I'm not real familiar with your mod but I would imagine it will provide up to 7 Volts. If that is true, you can apply up to the full 80 watts and not hurt the mod. The vape will probably be terrible as that is a lot of power being pumped into a .62Ω coil.

Nic River..... 1 gal PG, 1 gal VG, flavors: Lemonade, Apple Pie, and Kiwi. Free ship. $40 out the door. Nothing like sitting at work making money on both ends.

Bravo! Lookin good Captain! .1Ω is a pretty substantial deviation although it happens. Not familiar with the Artic Fox but I know the tabs are not supper accurate. I guess if the Tab is reading a few thousandths low and the mod a few thousandths high it could tolerance stack to .1. As long as you're not on the edge of what the mod is rated to handle e.g. 0.11Ω and you are getting a good vape, I'm sure you're groovin.

So far one Nemesis Mech in black for $12.00 and five Lemo Drops for a buck a hit. Lol, What the heck.

Wow, nothing like jumpin right in there head first! .25Ω is probably pretty close to what you will need. I don't know what all you've done in regard to building and mechs so I don't know where to start. I don't want to jot down a lot of rhetoric you already know. .25Ω on a dual coils makes each coil .5Ω. A single battery delivering the full 4.2V will deliver 8.2 amps to each coil or in other words, each coil will dissipate a little over 34 watts. That's not too bad of a match up as long as you don't go too insane with the coil i.e. too exotic and bulky. There are those who would say you are on the line pulling over 16A from that battery, but I personally don't see a problem with it. Just use common sense and keep track of how warm the battery gets. You don't need to be afraid of the things, just check and double check your resistance with the atty fully assembled. Keep the mod clean. If the mod starts heating up anywhere, inspect that area of the mod for dirt, carbon build up etc. That heat will be pointing out a high resistance joint. My favorite flavor builds remain to be a two core parallel Clapton. I was surprised to see a recent youtube video that confirms that build per "wind tunnel" tests. The air really hugs that configuration of coil if it is hitting the coil from the side. Contrary to popular practice, the video indicates a direct hit on the coil rather than underneath. Obviously nothing beats just trying different things on a particular atty. Hope this gives you confidence. I really sense you have the situation in hand.

Yikes! Hope all is well. And yes, you probably should. You're a keeper with all the good recipes!

Alright @cany! I thought for sure it was toast. -
Ok, that works out to about 20% Peanut butter and 10% marshmallow. I guess I could give that a go. Sounds a bit heavy on the flavoring but what the heck. Worst it could be is 15ml of draino.

My mother always made fuffernutter cookies. She seemed to think they were a German thing. Sounds good regardless. If you would like to share the recipe I'm sure nobody would mind. Hint...hint.

Here's a pretty stable mod In my humble opinion. Very good battery life. Pretty good temperature control for stainless steel but you do have to use the manual TCR setting. Nothing real fancy but feels nice in the hand especially if you like to thumb fire a mod. https://www.fasttech.com/products/3099/10019269/8903603-authentic-think-vape-exus-ark-200w-tc-vw-apv-box -

Ya, I really think you're hosed. If you can't activate the catch the top aint-a-goin-nowhere. -
Never had heartburn from different ratios of e-juice myself. As per flavor, PG is said to carry flavor better. I dyi and make different blends for different ratios of PG/VG so I can't really attest to the difference. You can certainly dilute an e-juice and try it but you will also be diluting the overall concentration of the flavor concentrates. If you have 60ml of 70/30 that means that you have 42 mills of VG and 18 mills of PG. You could add 24 mills of PG and have 84 mills of 50/50. You will have also diluted your flavor concentrate by 28%. Might end up with a pretty wimpy tasting vape.
