Well, they both feel exactly the same to me. The Ego button likes to stick sometimes.

I think the reason you're better at speaking it is because you were actually there around people who speak it, so you've heard and spoken the words a lot more, where I learned it in school, where there is much more reading and writing than actual speaking. That, and beyond some simple recognition exercises with flashcards, and the occasional little skits we had to write and "perform," we didn't really say the words. Your experience/knowledge is much more practical, and also vast.

Well, I guess it depends on who you talk to and where you get it from, but from what i understand, it's supposed to taste like butter. I would expect waffle to be a combination of butter and maple syrup, or just maple syrup, but i heard it's pretty much just a buttery flavor. If that's the case, i doubt I'd like it. Feel free to try it. If you don't like it, just e-mail Jason. If you want to try some amazing flavors, go for some Bavarian Creme, Chocolate Eclair, Butterscotch, Pina Colada, Cotton Candy, or Strawberry Kiwi. They're all good, at least to me.

Well, this can be kind of good and bad, but it's been that way for a long time. In California, Where medical marijuana has been legalized, they are allowed to carry it around as long as they have a card, and businesses can sell it, as long as they have a certain license or whatever it is. Now, even though it's perfectly legal in California, DEA agents can and do still raid the dispensaries(that's what the pot shops are called) and pretty much do whatever they want because the DEA is a federal organization, and marijuana is still federally illegal. States are allowed to make their own laws. They can be more lenient or more strict than the federal ones, so every state has different laws. For instance, I don't know if there's a federal law about this or not, but in Pennsylvania, you're supposed to wear your seatbelt like everywhere else, and you can get fined for not wearing it... However, you cannot get pulled over just for not wearing your seatbelt. You have to be in violation of some other traffic law to get pulled over for the cop to find that you have not been wearing your seatbelt. Only then can you get fined for it. In New York, at least, you can get pulled over simply for not wearing your seatbelt. My dad found that out the hard way when he went there on vacation. The fact that states can make their own laws is good if the state laws are more lenient than the federal government, but it also sucks when they're not. PA also has special laws dealing with alcohol. You can't buy any alcohol whatsoever at anything other than a bar, beer distributor, or liquor store. Liquor stores are ONLY state run. You can't just get a liquor license and sell it wherever you want. You have to run a "state store," as they're sometimes called, or you have to run a restaurant or bar of some kind. You can't buy 6-packs from a beer distributor. For that, you have to go to a bar. And you can only buy so many 6-packs from a bar, never a case. If you want a case of beer, you have to go to the beer distributor. Also, apparently you have to wear a seatbelt in a car, but if you're riding a motorcycle, you're not required to wear a helmet anymore here. I don't know if this is the way it is all over the country, but it's that way at least in PA.

I'm better at reading it than anything, next comes writing, and finally, actually speaking it. But in all three, my vocabulary is too limited to hold many practical conversations. I can ask simple things like what is your name, how old are you, where are you from... stuff like that, and I can understand quite a bit, even if I don't know every word. I'm also bad at recalling the correct word when I want to speak it. I guess that's what happens after 6 years and nobody else who speaks it around you.

I haven't personally tried any waffle flavors, but I heard they're not good.

You know, I'm so glad to finally see some people get it. Just cuz it costs more doesn't mean it's better, but apparently a lot of people have been indoctrinated into thinking that way. In my personal experience, in most cases, the more expensive stuff is no better, sometimes even worse. It depends on what it is, who's making the cheaper one, and who's making the more expensive one. My girlfriend just recently started rolling cigarettes, within the past 2-4 weeks. She got one of those cheap hand rollers that just slides. The first one she got was 5-7 dollars, made by a company called premiere. It kept jamming, and it was a pain to use and not ergonomic whatsoever. It was all boxy and had a "ribbed" surface, I guess for grip, but all it did is make your hands hurt. It kept ripping the filter tubes and not filling down to the filter or to the top. After a week or two, she broke it by accident while trying to force it because it was jammed. She went back to the tobacco store and got the cheap one made by Top. It was only 1-3 dollars. It slides much easier and is designed in a way that it won't break in the same way. It's curved, not boxy, and has little indents for you to put your fingers on while using it. It fills the tubes all the way, from the filter to the top, and it doesn't hurt your hands. You can roll cigarettes much faster with it. It also has a switch on the bottom that allows you to switch between King size and 100mm length cigarette tubes, whereas the other one was only good for king size. If I would have been with her the first time, or I would have been the one getting it, I would have gone with the cheap one and saved 5-7 dollars. The moral of this story is you don't always get what you pay for. A lot of times you just get overpriced crap. I keep running into the same thing with the ego/riva. Everytime a newbie comes along, everyone screams "omg, get an ego." The thing's like 60-80 bucks, and while it might be worth it, it can be a daunting price, especially for a newbie. The Riva costs like half the money and is just as good, actually better in my opinion. But everybody keeps barking "you get what you pay for" and crap about warranties. Now there's nothing wrong with warranties, but they're not always necessary, and I'm not paying double price for a warranty. A lot of times stores will try to sell you useless warranties to get more of your money. That might not apply to e-cigs quite the way it does to department stores, but still. I'm not paying double the price unless the one that's double the price is light years ahead of the competition. In this case, it clearly is not. I'm not trying to say there's anything wrong with the ego or advising a newbie to get one, but when I chime in with my riva suggestion, people shoot it down. "omg, warranty, not genuine joye, knockoff, blah blah." whatever... And here's an even BETTER example. Okay, greensmoke costs 100 bucks. Blu used to cost 60, now it's 70. The cheapest I've seen a 510 kit for was 40($25 at this one site that was trying to sell them all off and switch to only liquid. No idea what they cost before that though). The Riva costs less than all of them, but is clearly superior. Same atty as a 510, much larger battery that lasts about 6-8 hours as opposed to 1-2. You get what you pay for? Why, I think not.

As far as the additives are concerned, I don't think you can get more than one in a particular bottle(maybe if you e-mail jason and request it after you've placed the order). Whether or not they dilute the flavor, I'm sure they do to some degree, but I imagine it would make such a small difference you wouldn't notice. I can't tell though, because every juice I've gotten from them has had an additive. I never tried it without. Actually, I think my pina colada might not have an additive, but that's the only one, and the only juice i've ordered twice from VR was the bavarian cream, with ginseng both times. So I have no way of knowing, no basis for comparison. You probably never saw me mention Vapor Renu if you were only looking on the forums, as up until recently, I haven't really been participating too much. I mostly just go in the chat. Plus, people can't seem to spell or pronounce my name very well, so I go by "nintendo_kid" in chat. I used to plug Vapor Renu on ECF like crazy, though. According to Jason, his prices are so low because he buys everything in huge quantities. He also told me that quite a few USA vendors actually get their supplies from him(he sells PG/VG and flavors separately, maybe nicotine base too, but i'm not sure), which I find rather interesting.

Aimee, I don't recall the name of the vendor you are referring to, but I do specifically recall that one vendor was putting CIALIS and a weight loss drug in their juice. That was the issue. There is nothing wrong with vitamins/herbal supplements. The issue, if I'm not mistaken was that the drugs used in the juice were prescription drugs. You don't need a prescription for vitamins and herbs. And, if you really are concerned, you're not required to put anything extra in your juice. It's just an option. The ginseng helps wake me up in the morning and keep me alert throughout the day. And I've noticed I haven't really been sick except for one time since I've been vaping, possibly at least partially do to my increased vitamin C intake via vaping. Vitamin C helps you fight off things like colds and influenza. It also helps to prevent them, and it helps prevent scurvy. "Vitamin B12, vitamin B12 or vitamin B-12, also called cobalamin, is a water soluble vitamin with a key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system, and for the formation of blood. It is one of the eight B vitamins. It is normally involved in the metabolism of every cell of the human body, especially affecting DNA synthesis and regulation, but also fatty acid synthesis and energy production." <--- from wikipedia "For many centuries extracts of milk thistle have been recognized as "liver tonics".[6] Research into the biological activity of silymarin and its possible medical uses has been conducted in many countries since the 1970s, but the quality of the research has been uneven.[3] Milk thistle has been reported to have protective effects on the liver and to greatly improve its function. It is typically used to treat liver cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis (liver inflammation), toxin-induced liver damage (including the prevention of severe liver damage from Amanita phalloides ('death cap' mushroom poisoning), and gallbladder disorders.[5][10]" <--- also from wikipedia. If I'm not mistaken, it's also supposed to be good for prostate health, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Ginseng is good for energy and alertness/staying awake. It's similar to caffeine in that regard, but it doesn't make you wired, and it doesn't cause jitters or crashing. I'm glad people are finally giving vapor renu a try but at the same time a bit annoyed that nobody would really listen to me. I've been tooting their horn forever, and I've been mostly either mocked for liking their juice, or simply told "you get what you pay for, so I'm not buying it."

LOL, no, I'm not a police officer or any kind of civil servant. I could never be a cop. There are too many laws I don't agree with, and I wouldn't wanna be the guy to pull people over and ruin their day. Take a look at my avatar. That is Der Stadtschutz. And here's the explanation... I used to play an MMORPG(massively multiplayer online game, in case you don't know what that stands for. World of Warcraft and Everquest are examples of MMORPGs) called City of Heroes a few years back. It's a futuristic comic book hero game. Basically you create your own super hero and run around a city saving people and killing bad guys. Anyway, I speak German, and I'm bad at coming up with names for characters or anything, for that matter, so I decided on The City Protector, in german, of course. Well, the game didn't provide enough room for that name, so I had to shorten it. It shoulda been Der Stadtschützer. Ever since I played that game, I've sometimes used my character's name as user IDs for various things. The reason for using it here is I didn't want to use my most common one, in case some nazis from ECF patrolled here. I didn't want to use the same ID so I didn't get flamed immediately for no good reason. Not that I was a **** over at ECF, but they didn't seem to care for me to much. My bad... Now that you mentioned the cappucino again, I do recall you saying something earlier on in the thread. Well, I'm glad you like Vapor Renu, and I'm glad you decided to try it in the first place. In the chatroom around here I've heard a lot of "you get what you pay for, blah blah," and some people won't even touch it based solely on the fact that it's cheap, so it can't possibly be good... Whatever, it's their loss. I'm PA dutch, which I guess makes me a cheapskate. I don't know if that's the reason why I'm a cheapskate, but I definitely am. So I simply can't justify spending 3x more than I have to for anything. Combine that with the peppery taste I've experienced from the only other two vendors that were relatively inexpensive, and the conclusion is Vapor Renu is my only juice provider from now on. Like you said, nobody beats his prices or customer service. And it's great to be able to make up your own flavors rather than being limited to what they feel like selling. It's also nice how they make the juice to order, so you don't have to hope that the flavor/strength/vg pg blend you want is in stock. The vitamins, ginseng, and milk thistle are a really nice touch, too. There is nothing I dislike about vapor renu at all. As for the chocolate eclair, I think it's great! Bavarian Cream by itself is amazing, and with chocolate added, it's even better.

Blue Mist's juice(for me, at least) has this peppery taste to it that's really strong. It overpowers the fruity flavors I ordered and burns the living crap out of my throat. It's like inhaling a mouthful of black pepper, and it's not pleasant at all. It's unvapable for me. Now I've asked some other people in the chatroom about it. Most of them seem to have any idea what I'm talking about. Some suggested maybe it's the nicotine. But what I didn't understand is that if it's the nicotine, my vapor renu juices contain nicotine, as do the samples I got from vaperite, yet their juices don't taste like i'm inhaling pepper. So, with mary ann, I've come to the conclusion that either Blue mist uses more potent nicotine or lower quality nicotine, I don't know. Or maybe, like day vape suggested, maybe it's just something in their juice that I'm sensitive to and not many else are. Backwoods Brew has the same problem, but theirs isn't quite as bad. It's still vapable for me, though. But what really disappointed me with backwoods brew is the fact that I ordered "caramel cappucino," and the bottle I got clearly says "caramel cappucino." However, the problem occurs upon tasting the juice. It tastes nothing like neither caramel nor cappucino. It tastes like straight up black coffee. I like coffee flavor just fine. It's good, don't get me wrong. But that is NOT what I ordered. Vapor Renu just seems to make sweeter, smoother juice, and it's exactly what I love. Plus it's cheap, and I'm a cheap skate, so it's win win! Now, an interesting thing I noticed recently. When I get vapor renu juice in my mouth, I taste that same peppery taste, but it's not very strong. However, I NEVER taste it while vaping. And, it also gives my mouth a similar sensation to that of nicotine gum. So I guess the peppery taste really is the nicotine, and bluemist's nicotine isn't so good. Either that, or bluemist and backwoods brew both use some crazy throat hit. Either way, I'm not buying from anybody but Vapor Renu again without first trying their juice via someone else who already bought it. I'm not risking wasting money on some crappy peppery juice, especially when I've found what I like, and everything else is more expensive. One last thing. I don't just dislike bluemist's juices, but I also strongly dislike Rob, the owner. Even if they made juice comparable to vapor renu at some point in the future, I will never order from him again, for this reason... Schlitz advised me to try letting my bluemist juice sit for a couple weeks, hoping that maybe the peppery taste will go away or become less intense. Unfortunately, it did not. So I e-mailed BlueMist to let them know the problem I was having with their juice, and to ask for any advice/suggestions. I got no response for at least 5 days, maybe a week. So then I sent another e-mail stating that I would not be buying anymore juice from them because it was no good. Within an hour, I immediately got a response. But they didn't give me any helpful information. All Rob had to say was basically that I need to try more of his flavors to form a valid opinion... That's right, I was dissatisfied to say the least about a purchase I made from his store, and he tells me to buy more. Why would I want to buy anymore if the first batch sucked? Then he argued back and forth with me for a few more e-mails. In my opinion, that is a terrible vendor. You may find that you love bluemist juice. This is just one man's experience with them. Good luck. Oh, and Juliery, don't forget, if there's a flavor you want that isn't on the list, feel free to e-mail Jason and suggest it. He'll add it to the list for you. I personally submitted chocolate eclair, caramello, caramel apple, strawberry kiwi, bavarian bean, and cola black.

Can I ask you what exactly is "better" about the ego? I can't really tell a difference beyond the fact that I personally prefer the rubber button of the riva(the plastic ego button likes to stick sometimes). That, and the fact that the riva battery is shorter, but that's because the Ego I have is a USB passthru. Also, I do like the fact that the ego(at least the black one) has a sort of rubberized texture on the battery, which provides a better grip than the metallic finish of the Riva. I don't see what difference it would make, but I personally got mine from Vapor-ize.com.
-
I wasn't aware that the Riva was higher voltage than the Ego. I also never noticed a difference in the air holes or the cone's tightness between the two. However, I wasn't really looking all that closely either. Another thing, my Riva's button doesn't glow at all when I'm charging it, at least not that I noticed. I wonder why yours does... Either way, thank you for comparing the Riva to the ego without automatically condemning it because it costs less, and therefore MUST be lower quality. You don't always get what you pay for. I prefer the Riva, but a lot of people won't even touch it because it costs less, kinda like Vapor Renu juice. Oh well, their loss. The cheapest Ego kit I know of is about $60, but you can get a Riva kit from liberty flights for $37.50, or $30 even with a 20% discount coupon code. Even if it somehow is inferior quality, you can get two kits for the price of one Ego kit. And it's DEFINITELY better than a 510, or a blu, PLUS cheaper than either. So even if it isn't QUITE as good as the Ego(which I think is a crock), it's pretty damn close. GO RIVA!!

Interesting Reading Regarding Potential Ny Ban
DerStadtschutz replied to juliery's topic in General Vape News
Yes, he is using the information to make money, but lots of people do that, and regardless, he's not lying. He's not a nutcase like people tried to make him out to be. I've been listening to this kind of crap for years and years, and it only seems to be catching on now. Also, while he doesn't just come out and share all the health secrets, what he DOES is give very good recommendations for staying healthy in the first place, and that's far more important than waiting til you get some disease and then trying to cure it, in my opinion. It's also more information the government/pharmaceutical industry would rather us not know because as stated before, there's no money to be made off of healthy people, at least not for the pharmaceutical industry. They gotta sell all that nyquil and robitussin. -
Vapor Renu is totally awesome, and they're my only juice vendor and have been for a while. I want to warn you though, STAY AWAY from their cheesecake and rootbeer. Rootbeer will kick your *** and stay in your atty for about a week, and the cheesecake is just terrible. You don't have to heed my warning, as he'll replace it if you don't like it anyway for free, but please just stay away. Everything else of his I've tried is amazing. Everyone else is overpriced. Blue mist sucks, and so does backwoods brew. Vapor Renu is my only vendor. I like VapeRite's juices, but they're overpriced.

Interesting Reading Regarding Potential Ny Ban
DerStadtschutz replied to juliery's topic in General Vape News
So as it turns out, Kevin Trudeau isn't really such a nutcase with his "conspiracy theories" about the pharmaceutical industry... -
Forget spending $20 or more on a single battery. Get a Riva 510 kit from liberty flights. With a 20% off coupon code, you get 2 750mah batteries, 10 carts(which are worthless, but whatever, they're in there), a cone, 2 atties, and a bottle of juice for $30. That's only $10 more than you'll spend on a single battery. So it's like paying 20 for one battery, getting the other half off, and getting 2 free atties, free chargers, and free carts and juice. www.liberty-flights.com
-
If I'm not mistaken, the GreenSmoke is an E9 model, same as the red dragon. I say forget the Joye ego. It's not crap, but it's still overpriced. Get a Riva 510 kit, it's essentially the same thing. It's better in my opinion. Its regular battery has 100 more mah than the ego. It has a rubber button that will never stick like the ego button does, and it's HALF the price.

It's not a matter of them being stupid. They know DAMN well what they're doing. The only reason they're presenting it the way they are is so there is as little public outcry as possible. If they explained what e-cigs are and actually described them accurately without all this fear mongering BS, even people who don't vape or smoke would see the stupidity in them being banned and maybe try to do something about it. They spread all the lies about e-cigs so that the public who doesn't have much reason to care or would never know without being spoonfed information by the media will think this is a good idea or remain completely indifferent. If they stopped the fear mongering, then they would be stupid, for it would cause their agenda to fail. They're playing into the ignorance and naivety of the general, uninformed public. The government wants these things gone because it cuts into their taxes. They "need" these taxes because they refuse to stop spending or lining their own pockets, so they want us to pay for their BS. The pharmaceutical industry wants these things gone because there's no money to be made off of healthy people, and because this cuts into their profits from their pointless gums, patches, NRTs, and lozenges. The tobacco industry wants these things gone because if you can vape your nicotine, why the hell would you smoke and get it along with a crapload of other chemicals? This whole thing is ridiculous, and they can screw off. I WILL NOT stop vaping. I already have my hardware, and soon enough I'll have a mod. They can't ban the batteries used in the mod. If I have to, I'll make my own juice. This country's government no longer cares about us, and it hasn't for a long time. Day by day, they chip away at our rights and freedoms, and something drastic needs to happen NOW, or we may as well be friggin' robots. And this isn't about republican or democrat, both parties are to blame for the situation we're facing. They are two sides of the same coin. They work together behind the scenes but argue in the spotlight so that we all argue amongst ourselves and never realize what they're doing or do anything about it. ALL politicians are full of crap. Anybody with even a single braincell could see that if they really gave a rat's *** about our health, they would have banned real cigarettes a long time ago. I don't feel that the government should ban anything. As a human, I feel it is everyone's right to do what they want, provided it doesn't harm anyone else or infringe on anyone's rights. If that means you want to kill yourself, go for it. I would try to dissuade you and discourage behavior that would harm you, but it is still your right, your choice. But if they feel they must ban something to actually solve a health crisis, then it is clear that this is the absolute WRONG way to go. They should ban the one that is known to kill and cause all kinds of health problems, not the one that's healthier. This whole thing is crazy. What has this nation become?
-
This is friggin' ridiculous... Okay, so the main argument is "they're not proven to be safe," and "omfg, it might be a gateway to smoking for kids..." Oh really? Well here's how we solve that very very easily. 1. ban the sale to minors under the current tobacco product laws, or make a new law specifically for e-cigs that says minors can't buy them. How hard is that? 2. ban cigarettes. If there are no cigarettes being sold, then it doesn't matter if kids get hooked because they only way they can get their nicotine then is via e-cigs, which we all know damn well are many times safer, so who gives a crap? Anyway, why, after vaping first, would you decide you're gonna smoke cigarettes? Even if you are addicted to nicotine, e-cigs taste so much better and don't kill you or make you cough your lungs up every day. These stupid public "health" officials... "omg, with e-cigs you can get your nicotine anywhere you can't smoke. that's not good for public health." My ***, it isn't. Nicotine, in and of itself is not all that bad for you. Even if it is, it's in cigarettes, among many other things, so what's their point? The nicotine itself isn't the problem. it's the tar, carbon monoxide, cyanide, formaldehyde, ammonia, arsenic, and god only knows what else is in those stupid things. This is so aggravating. They don't give a damn about public health. If they did, cigarettes wouldn't be here, period. I'm so sick and tired of hearing how people want them removed until they're proven 100% safe. WATER isn't 100% safe. NOTHING is. Too much water in your system will kill you. Too much of just about anything will kill you, so what exactly is the definition of 100% safe? While we're at it, why don't we just ban water? Damn morons... This country's government makes me sick.
-
Well, as many have already said, vendors lie like crazy. But, it depends on what unit you have. Not all e-cigs have the same exact size cart. But keep in mind, the number of puffs you will get out of one cartridge will depend on how big of a puff you take. I personally don't even bother with carts or cartos because it's more convenient to just drip directly into the atomizer than it is to remove the cart and drip into that instead. Also, cartos and cartridges both have filler, which seems to reduce the flavor(it also doesn't work well with 100% VG juice). Dripping just tastes better to me. But, to each his own.

New York Ban Ecig Ban
DerStadtschutz replied to Christopher's topic in Vaping Legislation & Regulation News
E-mail sent. Good luck, New York. -
Why pay twice as much as you have to? Get a Riva from Liberty Flights. Or get a Volcano Inferno. That kit's only $60. You get a 1000mah battery plus a passthru battery and two cones.
-
Yeah, I know Johnson Creek makes Blu's juice. I already tried asking them if they could sell me a bottle. They just told me to try their black cherry and a sample pack, but I've since spoken to Jason over at Vapor Renu. He said he'd try to mix up something similar based on my description and send some free samples with my next order. If that doesn't work, then I'm gonna have to just suck it up and buy a pack of cartos(blu now uses cartos, 5 packs for $12, better than having to spend 25) and send it Jason's way.
-
I've been vaping for like 5 months now, and the entire time I've been cleaning atomizers by soaking them in rubbing alcohol. Not once have I had an atomizer die on me or need to be "brought back." I still have my very first atomizer from blu, and it's still going strong. And the same goes for my original 510 atomizer. I haven't even had to touch either of the atties that came with my riva kit yet. I clean them pretty regularly, usually once a week or two, or whenever the atomizer feels clogged.
