The Volcano isn't a 510, the Magma is. The Volcano is an L88B, and it's the same thing as the Blu. go to www.liberty-flights.com and get a riva kit. With their 20% discount, it'll only cost you $30 plus whatever shipping is. When you first get to their site, there's a button near the top of the page that says "20% off, click here" or something like that. Click on that, then locate "Riva 510 Lite Bundle." The Riva is essentially the same thing as the Ego, but it costs about half the price. An Ego's gonna cost you at least 60 bucks.

The Cost Of Vapeing Vs Analogs
DerStadtschutz replied to easilyamused's topic in General Vaping Discussion
One other thing I forgot to mention earlier, even though I spent $435.46 on vaping in 6 months, I also got a free mod due to a giveaway on another forum, and along with that I also got a bunch of batteries and chargers for the mod, a total value of about $203, PLUS a few free bottles of juice here and there. With vaping, there is this whole community of helpful generous people to take into consideration as well, something you won't find with smoking. -
My name is Todd, but I'm not the Todd that runs VapeRite.

Wow, really? You don't like any of them? If you really don't want them and want to give them away, I'll certainly take them. I love 100% VG, and I love vaperite.

I'd mix the heath bar with bavarian cream or caramel.

Well wait, if it goes off from particles in the air, would it go off from... say, saw dust? Or just regular dust? What if like someone knocks over a bag of flour or something? That has me intrigued...

New Utah Legislation
DerStadtschutz replied to Christopher's topic in Vaping Legislation & Regulation News
I'm all for keeping them away from kids too to a degree, but in all honesty, kids are gonna smoke. And because of that, I'd much rather have them be able to vape. They're gonna get a hold of nicotine one way or another whether we restrict it or not, and considering the fact that it's much safer, I'd rather have them vaping. But nobody's gonna allow that, and I don't propose to try to get anybody to allow it either. -
They sent it to let people know the FDA isn't stopping their ******** that they were told to stop by an appeals court judge...

Clean Your Atty With The Dooder Method
DerStadtschutz replied to elDuderino's topic in Modders Forum
When my atties get really gunked up feel clogged, I just soak them overnight or sometimes longer in rubbing alcohol and shake it around every so often. That seems to do the trick. -
Wow, set off a smoke detector? Really? I blew huge clouds into mine on purpose to see if it would set it off, and nothing happened. Either that person must have some awesome PV that smokes like a chimney, or my smoke detector sucks. Or maybe the ones in hotels are just super sensitive... I dunno, but that's interesting.

As far as I understand, the liquid won't really go bad, but it's not good to keep it exposed to light or heat because nicotine will break down over time, and i guess light and heat speed the rate at which that occurs. So it will lose its effectiveness, but after 5 months I'd think it would still be okay... But then again, particles floating in it? I don't know about that one...

Well, I don't know of any mods that you can just plug into the wall or a USB port. However there is the joye ego passthru(not a true passthru, just a battery you can vape on while charging, really. Some mods have USB ports that you can use for charging other devices, but like I said, I don't know of any that just plug in. Also, your idea of what a silver bullet is is pretty much correct, but(i don't know specifically with a silver bullet since I don't own one, but i'm guessing they're all the same, at least in this respect) the unit itself isn't a battery, it's a battery case. Mods all use removable batteries to my knowledge. As far as something small and similar to a cigarette is concerned, a 510 is more like a cigarillo in size... I think that's what they're called... like a black and mild, or those phillies blunts with flavored whistle tips. It's just a tad thicker than a cigarette, but it's a bit longer. I think the actual length is something like 110 millimeters, whereas analog 100s are 100 millimeters. I don't know anything about a Kr808 other than it's a 2 piece design, meaning the atomizer and cartridge are in one single piece. The 510 can also use cartomizers, but it's a 3-piece unit. What I would recommend is getting a 510(or ego usb passthru) and a megalodon. The 510 isn't bad, but its battery life really does suck, like any other stick battery. You'll get about 2-3 hours out of a 510 battery, sometimes more, sometimes less. It all depends on how often you use it. But in contrast, an Ego battery will last you like 6-8 hours. Again, it depends on how much you use it. It can be more or less. The closest thing in size to an actual cigarette would be an L88B(blu, volcano, revolver) or some other kind of super mini. The blu is not as terrible as most people make it out to be. I still have mine, and I actually quite like it. However, the problem with it is that it's overpriced. The $60 I paid(now $70) for a kit is simply not worth it when you can get an Ego kit for the same price or a little more, a Riva for less than half that, an ego passthru for like $25, and a Megalodon for about $100. The L88B has decent vapor production, but the batteries are complete suckage. They will last you anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, again, depending on how much you use it. I wouldn't highly recommend sharing any PV with others, but there's no more harm in doing so than there is in passing around a hookah hose. The reason I recommend the megalodon is it's the most versatile mod I know of. It can use a multitude of different batteries and at least 3 different atomizers, depending on which connector you get for it. A 3.7 volt 18650 is rated at 1500 mah(milli-amp hours, this is a rating of how much charge it will hold/how long it will last, in case you're not familiar with the term) compared to an Ego's 650 mah. So basically, the Don will last you more than twice as long as an Ego battery will at the same voltage. It can also be used at 5 or 6 volts, so it gives you the opportunity to do high voltage vaping. It's a beast. If you're interested, you can purchase a megalodon from www.electronicstix.com. You can find the 510 at many different places, as well as the ego. I specifically got my 510 kit from www.mypvshop.com for about $40, and I got my Ego passthru from www.totallywicked-eliquid.com for about $15(it was on sale. The regular price is something like $25. And, you can get a Riva kit(same as ego passthru, but no USB plug on the bottom of the battery, battery recharging requires disconnecting the unit and waiting) from www.liberty-flights.com for $30 with their 20% discount. There's a button located somewhere along the top of the page that says "20% off click here." Here is a picture of a regular(king sized) cigarette, an L88B(blu/volcano), an Ego passthru, and a Megalodon to give you an idea of how they compare in size to a cigarette. Note: the Don does not come in yellow. It comes only in a stainless steel color. I painted mine. one last thing I forgot to mention about the don. You see how it has 3 main body pieces? The 18650 that's in it now takes up pretty much the whole length of the body, but you can put in a single CR123A battery and reduce it to about half the size it is now. So it doesn't have to be big. It's the most versatile mod I know about, and I absolutely love it.

The Cost Of Vapeing Vs Analogs
DerStadtschutz replied to easilyamused's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Obviously the upfront cost of vaping will easily exceed the price of a pack of cigarettes, but if it didn't, then your device would have crapped out on you long ago, and you'd be replacing it all the time. For me, I'd go thru about half a pack a day, so about every two days I'd be buying a pack of cigarettes. 30 days in a month, divided by 2, = 15... X about 5 bucks for a pack of my pall malls, equals 75 dollars... 75 dollars every month. That's not really a whole lot, and it's a lot lower compared to some people's smoking habits, but I can guarantee you I haven't spent 75 dollars every month on vaping supplies since I've started. And even if I have, whoopty-doo. There's much more hidden cost behind just buying cigarettes anyway. Depending on where you go to get them, you gotta factor in the gas, and some people can't walk into a store without buying other crap like candy bars, sodas, and whatnot. Then consider all those damn lighters you go thru or simply lose on top of it. EVEN IF you spend as much as all that stuff combined on vaping supplies, if you spend the exact same amount of money, in the end you'll spend a lot less anyway in healthcare expenses down the road because you won't be inhaling all those damn chemicals. You'll feel a lot better, too. As a result of feeling better and actually being able to breathe, you'll have more energy and probably be more active, leading to even MORE health benefits. I'm a cheapass if there ever was one, and the main reason I decided to switch was the cost, but honestly, now that I think about it I wouldn't worry too much. You're saving money whether you realize it or not. Okay, just to find out specifically, I went thru my e-mail and added up the amounts on all my invoices(I never delete those for some reason). My grand total spent on vaping is... $435.46. My first order was placed on the 9th of August, 2010. I bought a blu kit for my girlfriend too, so like $60 of my total cost doesn't really even count for what I spent, but I factored it in anyway. Today is February 15th, 2011. I have been vaping for a little over 6 months. So, dividing my total cost by 6, I come to $72.58 a month. So basically, I've been keeping pretty even with my smoking habit. However, I have 15 different 30ml bottles of juice(not all full anymore, of course). Some of what I purchased was things like drip tips(which can never go bad) and spare batteries that will last me a long time. And I probably have enough juice for at least a year. The only reason I have so much now is because I wanted to try out all different flavors. So in the end, I've actually saved a lot. And, as it stands right now, I have no need or reason to purchase anything for quite some time. -
Welcome to the forums. the Joye Ego is a good unit for sure, but I would go to liberty flights and get a riva 510 kit. With their 20% off promotion, the Riva kit(which is essentially the same as an ego but better in my opinion) will cost you about half the price of the cheapest joye Ego kits I've seen. So instead of spending $120 or more on a kit for each of you, you could spend $60 and then have an extra $60 lying around to spend on juice(if you don't mind blowing $120 in the first place). The Riva has a larger capacity standard battery(750 mah over the joye ego's 650 mah) and vapes at a slightly higher voltage. Also, this is just a personal preference, but I like the button design much better. It's a soft rubber instead of a hard plastic, and it doesn't stick(stay down after you pressed and released it) like the Ego button does sometimes. If you go to this link: http://www.liberty-flights.com/product.asp?id=55 and scroll down to the part where it says "Riva 510 lite bundle," you'll see the kit you want there for $29.99. As for juice, I highly recommend Vapor Renu(www.vaporrenew.com) and VapeRite(www.vaperite.com). Both have excellent flavors in my opinion. I specifically recommend vapor renu though for their amazing selection of flavors and options. Also, it's the cheapest place to get juice that I know of at only about $7 for a bottle of 30ml of juice. in addition to the riva kit, allow me to recommend you purchase a drip tip and/or some cartomizers. The Riva uses atomizers and cartridges, but you can get cartomizers(that's what the "filter" the unit you have now uses) for it. Make sure they are 510 compatible. You can get pre-filled cartos and just throw them away, but it's much cheaper to buy empty ones and reuse them.

Nintendo Kid Earns/defends Title Of "blu Defender"

Hmm, apparently you can only edit posts up to a certain time period after making the original post. Anyway, for some stupid reason while editing the last video, it kept cutting off what I was saying. It also ended up being longer than I wanted, so here's a shortened version with a lot less talking. -

Oh, well in that case, then rubbing alcohol should work well for cleaning atties if you use PG too. -
Can't Get Any More Than 3 Drags... Need Help Please
DerStadtschutz replied to AR7K's topic in New Vapers Forum
Boiling again probably won't do any good. It sounds to me like in the process of doing a dry burn, you've charred the wick. Inside the atomizer, under the triangular-shaped piece that you see(this is called the bridge, and it's covered in metal mesh, a sort of steel wool-like material), there is a white thread-like material known as a wick. Over time, unless you're SUPER careful to keep the atomizer wet at all times(which isn't very likely when you're a newbie), you will eventually char the wick, causing this exact thing you've described(good flavor at first, still good vapor, but then after a few drags, burnt taste, despite the atty being clearly wet). I've done the same thing myself several times. It will cause you to overfill and flood your atty, yet still produce a burnt taste, which leads to much confusion. Anyway, what you'll want to do is remove as much of the wick as possible with a pair of tweezers. The problem I find with this, though, is that it's next to impossible(at least for me) to remove the whole wick(or the part that's actually charred, as that part tends to be closest to the coil, which is next to impossible to see with the bridge in there. So, when I start getting the burnt taste all the time, I just take out the bridge and the wick in one shot. There are at least a few videos on youtube on how to remove both of these, and I will post one in a minute. But, before I do, I want to explain something. I find that while trying to debridge certain 510 atties, pulling on the bridge tends to pull the whole internal portion of the atty closer to the top of the atty tube(the part that surrounds the coil, wick, bridge, and whatever else is inside that thing. So, what I do to avoid breaking the atty altogether is stick something(I use my tweezers) down into the atty and hold there with one hand, pushing on the whole internal portion, but away from the bridge itself. Then I insert a pair of needle nose pliers, grip the bridge from both sides, squeeze it together, and start yanking/wiggling til it comes out. Then I hold a flashlight in my mouth while I remove as much of the wick as I possibly can with the tweezers. That should solve your problem, and as you're removing the wick, you'll notice parts of it are black. One more thing before I post a link to a youtube video of this procedure... Note that when you remove the bridge and the wick, your atomizer will be more prone to flooding, since the wick and the mesh on the bridge act as a buffer or liquid holder and keep it from just flowing thru the atomizer. You will also be unable to use a cartridge with the atomizer, which means you'll need to drip. And finally, sometimes while vaping, usually the first few drags after dripping more liquid, some of the liquid will bubble and fly up, landing on your tongue. It's not that big of a deal for the most part. I don't really mind it all that much, but with high voltage or low resistance atomizers, it can get pretty darn hot. I've actually gotten a small burn on my tongue as a result of this. Considering the information I just provided, you might be thinking "well then why do I want to do this?" Well, you can either just deal with the burnt taste, use another atomizer and waste this one, or you can do what I suggested and still be able to use it. This is one of the unfortunate parts of vaping. Wicks get burnt sooner or later, at least in my experience. So if you don't drip already, I say get used to doing so. Some people, like Noxious, remove the wick immediately upon switching to a new atomizer to avoid this mess altogether. I don't know about anybody else specifically, but she prefers to leave the bridge in. To me, it doesn't really matter. In fact, I sort of like it better without the bridge, because one way I know for sure I'm out of juice is to be able to see the coil light up red, which is easier to see without the wick and bridge in the way. And now, without further adieu, here is a video. And here is one about removing the bridge, in case you're interested. And finally, ONE LAST PIECE OF INFO: I personally clean my atomizers by soaking them for a few hours(usually overnight or sometimes even longer) in rubbing alcohol. Some people seem to think this is a bad idea, but it's kept my atties alive for about 5 months. I still have my very first Blu atomizer from the kit I bought this summer. I know for a fact that rubbing alcohol breaks down organic compounds, which VG is. I'm not so sure about PG though. Also, dry burning does work to burn some of the gunk off the coil, similar to how a self-cleaning oven works. However, you want to be careful when you do it as you can ruin the atomizer by letting it dry burn for too long. Should you choose to soak your atties in rubbing alcohol, I specifically use only 91% isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and I rinse my atomizers thoroughly with water, blow the excess water out, and then let the atomizers dry for a few hours before using them. What Chris said about atomizers needing more liquid than normal after cleaning IS true, but I'm guessing since you did a dry burn, you charred your atomizer. It would help to double check your wick before you do any of this, but like I said, it can be hard to see. And, your wick will probably become charred eventually anyway. Sorry for the gigantic wall of text, but I hope it helps. Good luck, and happy vaping! -
Nintendo Kid Review Of The Don

Thank you, day vape. I'm glad you enjoyed it. -
Alright, cool beans. I've been meaning to get a hold of some kinda grape juice for a while now. I might have to go with that one. I was leaning toward grape soda. No, I'm not old enough to know what grape gum you're talking about, but I'm familiar with bubble yum and bubbalicious. As for that chemical taste some are complaining about with vapor renu, I have no idea what they're talking about. I never get it, just pure flavor. I always get 16mg 100% VG and double shot. That might have something to do with it, but you'd think I'd still get a hint of it. Who knows...? Maybe it's the kind of PG they use or something since I know most people just get PG juice. Either way, Vapor Renu rocks! Best juice ever. Everything else I've tried just plain sucked, with the exception of VapeRite and Vapor Galaxy. But I'm still not paying their prices.

Hey Juliery, does Vapor Renu's grape taste like a real grape, or is it more like a candy/soda grape ?

Good reading, but he has one thing wrong. "The public is being denied this information by government officials and nongovernmental organizations that have abandoned the health and welfare of smokers in pursuit of a senseless and unnecessary war against all tobacco and nicotine products." If they really were after all tobacco products, I think something would have been done about real cigarettes a long time ago.
