Replacement coils that come with the tank kits
Edna replied to Patricia's topic in General Vaping Discussion
@Patricia Merry Christmas to you too and to all the Vapor Talk Family !! -
Thanks @Earthling789 and @Tam I received them from my local B&M when I used my points to get a "new vape kit" for free so I have no idea if they're fake or not but everything I've ever gotten from them has been authentic and problem free. They seem to work ok but just seem wider. I haven't put them in any other mod to see if they fit the same. I'll drag out my fluke and check them when the holidays are over. I guess I just expected a longer battery life with duals. I'll probably only use it once and a while and vape happily on my pico, evic, eleaf 50 and 60. Not a big deal at all

@cany Thanks I always thought that having more battery power would enable me to go longer between charging. I know running sub ohm eats batteries for breakfast but it just seems weird. Maybe it's a Releaux thing..?

Sounds like you found your niche Way to go

Hi all you battery guru's! HELP! I got a Releaux 2/3 and have 3 pairs of married batteries for it. (which I'm rotating in the 2 battery mode) They're Sony VTC5 IMR 18650 2600 mAh 3.7V and they seem too fat for the mod and they don't last very long I'm vaping at about 35W with a 0.41 build in my Avocado 25mm RDTA. Everything ie...mod/batteries are brand new (except the tank). I charge all my batteries in an external nitecore charger. The battery percentage drops really quickly for some reason. I've vaped this same build on a single battery mod and it's lasted a day and a half but this is only lasting about 8 hours. It's weird because the batteries seem fatter (wider) than my others too and It's hard to close the door on my mod.... Is this normal? Thanks.

@Earthling789 and @Tam are the champs at helping you spend your $.... though I plead guilty as charged too I'm glad you have found that the pico stays and your new juice makes you happy. It's a great set-up. I'm now hitting the point where I'm not spending much on new stuff though I have admit the occasional case of shinyitus does win. I also have a joyetech AIO and I love it actually for running to the grocery or quick trips out and about because it fits well into a jacket pocket or purse. The leak-proof and top fill features are great. Just so you know, It will function well with the higher VG juices too. I currently have 3mg 80vg/20pg banana strawberry in mine. Your 65/35 isn't a bad mix, it isn't as harsh as others and the coil in the AIO is 0.6ohm and cooler than the 0.3 as well. @Tam's suggestion of 0mg juice at bedtime is great and does pacify the need to go through the motions. One quick note though, make sure you charge the batteries for your pico in an external charger rather than in the pico. It's better and safer for the battery and the mod. Congratulations on your new hobby

Hi @Walt sorry I just saw this.. I love my pico as @Tam said. It's my go to mod. The pico mod itself isn't the the cause of the choking problem, it's probably the tank/juice are you using on it? Though some of it can be an after effect of quitting analogs. I coughed for a couple of months while my body readjusted. If you're using the melo III that comes with the pico in the kit yes, it can have an airy draw. If you're enjoying your pen style vaporizer I'm assuming that you vape mouth to lung like when you smoked your analogs. It might remedy the melo if you can switch to a ming type drip tip and somewhat close your airflow valves on the base of the melo or you can try a tank like a nautilus mini that is more suited to that style of vaping. The melo III also has ECML coils you can get which are specifically for MTL vapers which might also help with the problem. I would try the ECML coil before buying a new tank though personally. The ECML coil is 0.75 ohm so you can vape at a lower wattage than the 0.3ohm which will be cooler and might make it better for you. Yes, the pico/melo combination is a sub ohm set up and if you have the 0.3ohm coil in it then anything over a 6mg nicotine juice would be harsh. I would think that if you used at least 70vg/30pg juice in a lower nicotine level you'd be happier with your set up. A higher VG has less of a throat hit than PG which can trigger coughing/choking too. Personally I use a 3mg 80vg/20pg juice and it's perfect for me. I quit analogs in May and after a while I switched from MTL to direct to lung so my suggestion is to hang on to your melo no matter what because you'll probably enjoy it more as your vaping style changes and it's great to have back ups.

All the above suggestions are great!!!! Also maybe the juice was freshly made and needs to steep for a bit. I have vaped cotton candy flavored juice that like a fine wine got better with time. I would suggest adding either a high VG blueberry candy or strawberry candy flavoring to give it a better pink/blue cotton candy flavor. Sweeter juices burn easier too a higher ohm build might be a good idea too.

Star Wars: Rogue One (No Spoilers)
Edna replied to Adversarious1's topic in The Vape Lounge - Off Topic Chat
Hey wait a minute .....I like the ewoks they're cute I like the original movies a lot but haven't watched any of the others. If this is like a prequel then maybe we'll go.... I'm with @Squid on this one. -
@Tam The itchy fingered editor in you won this time ...LOL To Sweetcherrie.... I would suggest the eleaf pico it has all the options, it's up to 75W or TC and the melo 3 tank it comes with is reliable and has drop in coils with different ohm options. The starter kit (mod and tank) can be found for under $40. I know the Vaportalk store carries it and has excellent customer service. I've had one since last May and It's still my favorite mod though I have quite a few others. I use it daily.

That is the coolest mod I have ever seen! I'm a complete Tolkien geek!

Two more (mostly) positive articles from surprising sources
Edna replied to Adversarious1's topic in General Vape News
@Adversarious1 Thanks for the links, I'm giving vaping gear to some smokers I know for Christmas and I like arming them with information too. -
I also use flavor west or TFA and they also have MSDS sheets or list any questionable ingredients in their product overview then it's at purchasers discretion.
-
I finally redeemed some of my points at a local B&M for a Christmas present for myself. They offer different vaping kits and this was the one I chose: It contains a Wisemec 2/3 (cyan was my choice) An EHPRO Billow V3 Rdta, 6 Samsung 18650 batteries and 2 cases, A Nitecore D2 digicharger , 48 prebuilt coils by demon killer (in various ohm levels) A packet of organic cotton A pair of ceramic tweezers and a pair of plato wire cutters. They also had 30% off on my favorite juice so I picked up 250ml of it for only $26 and for $1 each I got two trial 5ml bottles of juices I wanted to try.
-
My DYI list is the same I know exactly what goes into my juice. The only other three places that occasionally I get/got juice from are also certified (VT,VW and CV) SO, I have absolutely no concerns as to them being thousands of times safer than cigarettes.
-
I believe that they used this article with links for their conclusions, it also has a link to an opposing view. I noticed it used web md and other common websites Found: here

From the Fabulous VT Store I just received a Kanger Subbox Mini-C starter kit and a bottle of Capricorn e-juice (3mg) The juice is for me and the Mini-C is for a friend for Christmas. Thanks folks at the VT Store for perfect customer service as always !

I'm right there with you Tam. Vaping non-tobacco flavors is what got me off analogs and now I can't even stand the smell of traditional cig's. Though I'm not one of those "reformed" smokers who give my friends who smoke the "lecture" on it's evils. Generally I just get them beginning simple vape gear and a few different juice flavors and let them play with it until they switch I know for a while the FDA was going to ban all flavors in e-cigs until that got scrapped at one point. I don't know but personally I don't want to be vaping tobacco leaves flavored or not. This just proves how big tobacco is interfering with our choices for the almighty dollar to me..

The company has just applied to the FDA for approval of its new electronically heated cigarette, called iQOS, which is already being marketed in 12 countries and which has just been introduced to the British market. @CloudMutilator I'm no doctor but this sounds unusual....It could be you're dehydrated or that you're depriving your body of enough 02 by hitting it too much and too hard. Since you're using zero nicotine you might want to take a break for a bit and see if it goes away. It could also be that your juice is sweet and you're having a reaction to the sweetner. If I was you I'd take a break from vaping for a couple days and then try again with a new bottle of fresh juice and if the symptoms don't go away see your medical provider.

@Adversarious1 I hope it keeps you well while you work this Christmas/Holiday Season. Thank you for your service keeping the peace for the rest of us! There is so much negative energy directed at LEO's it's often hard to remember that there are people who support y'all. Maybe this'll make it a tad bit easier.
