By the "usb" one are you referring to the cable that came with my ego (along with the wall adapter ) or a different usb fast charger? I was told not to use this cable directly into the computer (laptop) which kinda confused me because what is the point of the usb into the wall adapter if it's not to be used this way. You would think that the cable would be hard wired to the wall adapter if that was the case.

Thanks...that was the answer I was hoping for. Having trouble with both of my batteries, not sure if it's a battery problem, cable problem or a wall adapter problem. Need another backup battery anyway and the pass-through seems like an awesome idea, plus if I can use the pass-through cable and battery with the wall adapter and get a charge then I can eliminate the wall adapter as the problem.

So...if a computer is not available, can you use the wall adapter with the pass-through cable for charging?

A big thank you to all of you guys on this forum. I have been on other forums (sports mainly...and maybe an elfing foru.....sorry disregard that ) and for the most part it doesn't take long before some a-hole starts spouting off. That's why for the most part I usually just lurk and read. I lurked here for really quite a while before I posted, But from the git-go I felt really comfortable here on this site. Everybody seems very nice and the regulars on this site that help all of us vapingly challenged are really a testament to what a great site this is. Nana...You are always so cheerful and supportive of people on this site. Must be that good wholesome midwest thing that people outside of the midwest just don't get or believe really exists. Christopher....that 10 hits on the button thing....never heard that before....someone should really put together an ego manual because the one that came with mine was really lacking, but I understand why. NoXious...your appreciation of my "missletoe" comment has surely warmed the cockuls of my heart. A thousand thank yous. That has virtually nullified a thousand wifely eye rolls. Thank you.

OK...update, as I know that you have all been on the edge of your seat waiting to hear from me again. Don't know if you're going to believe this or not, but I just got the first green light on my charger. On another forum someone mentioned cleaning the contacts on the battery and the charger...to plug the charger in to get a green light and then to screw the battery on, turning the light from green to red. Sure...I was at the point that I would try anything. The batt. that I am currently using got that treatment this a.m. and got charged for a while before I had to leave home. This battery kept chuggin along for about 6 hours now. Been waiting for it to die all afternoon. About 3 hours ago when I got home I did that little magic trick on it, put it on the charger and...BINGO...GREEN LIGHT. On top of that Christopher hooked me up with a missing item so right now I not only have green lightage, but I'm direct dripping some very tasty midnight. Good day my friends...good day.

Thanks all. Been on 1 battery since early this morning and still going. Not hitting it non-stop, but probably at a moderate pace. Cleaning the contacts may have helped. we'll see. Just plugged 1 up to the wall and it had a partial charge ( no idea what percent ) so I'm going to let it lay there for awhile and see what happens.

Another quick ?. The 900mah battery would be compatible with my existing ego items (carts...cartos...attys...charger/cable) correct? No need to buy mega items for the 900 batt? Right now I'm leaning towards purchasing a new battery and a new usb cable (no wall adapter) as I feel the problem may lie in the cable. If a new cable charges my current batterys then I'm golden with 2 650's and a 900mah batts. then I can deal with the bad cable (which at $9 ain't no big deal). If it doesn't charge my 2 existing 650's, Then at least I'll have a badass battery and cable to get my vape on while I deal with the batteries. Don't think the wall adapter is the problem or I would only be having this problem only when I charge on an outlet, but the problem is the same whether I'm on a wall outlet with the wall plug or plugging up to the computer with the usb cable. Well, still kicking it around in my head even though I think I know where the problem lies, but need to do something today...and with free shipping I probably should hit it today. I appreciate y'alls input and help.

Thanks Brian. Not sure what route I'll take yet but will be doing something today. Read on another forum somebody was having a very similar problem and their solution was to use a slightly damp tissue to clean the connections on the batt. and the charger. This person said that they thought that there was some contaminant/film on the connections from the factory. That would be WAY to easy, but is worth a try. Doing that right now.

Hey chris, Wow you too? 5:00 am and there you are...trypthophan wear off on you too? lol. With my limited knowledge of these things, and with a hopeful heart that it's something as simple as the charger, I'm wondering what my best course of action should be? Selfishly..after having my ego in my hands and seeing how it has worked for me so far, I hate to pack it up and send it back for inspection if it is indeed something as simple as a charger. I am getting a charge to the batts, but just doesn't seem to charge up all the way and takes forever to do that. Was kinda thinking that my best course would be to order a new mega battery and charger and then go from there as far as having my existing gear checked out. Another battery wouldn't be a bad idea, and a second charger would be a good option also I guess. Hate to keep playing this constant charge the battery game..would hate to play the do without it game for a couple of weeks, but also need to take care of this within the warranty period. It's odd that I know the battery is dead..dead..dead..and I put it on the usb cable and it will burn green or fully charged. Then if I put it on the wall charger it will show red (well...it always shows red on the wall charger even after 5...8..10 hours. Oh well...you guys are the experts so any advice you could give would be appreciated.

Hey Brian...yes I did get my ego from the vapor talk store. I am thinking that it may be a charger problem. I am going to do a ticket shortly, but hate to "cry wolf" for every thing that arises. Chris has been great, as has everybody here including yourself. Dude....it's 4:00 am.....what are you doing up??? I sleep in 3 and 4 hour spurts...have for years due to my work....hope your not tethered to the same sh#$%y fate as I am. Thanks for the input....hope it's as simple as a new charger cuz this is really working for me. Thanks again....now go have a turkey sandwich and take a nap.

VT clever clove. VT exotic, which at first (3 days ago) tasted like a dirty urine soaked sock, but now is starting to taste WAY better. And 3 home made concoctions, grape...watermelon...and a very tasty butter rum. Just started to really get into direct dripping and WOW, what a difference. Way more flavor and production and TH. Really surprised that I'm getting into the sweet flavors as I thought that I would be more into the earthy, bold flavors, but when picking up some loranns at wal mart I kept hearing mark (grape mark/you owe me a beer mark) saying how great the grape was...well I just had to try it. Mark...thank you sir. grape rocks and should we ever meet the beers are on me. IN fact right now I'm dripping grape and quaffing a finely aged busch....uuummmmm.

Alright...got MY ego sat....got the grunge sat...was in a fog till like wed.....still played with my new baby because..well ...duh...just couldn't wait. Did not think that the battery life thing was any where near what was stated. O.K.....sick (sicker than I thought) but thought that maybe I was under estimating the battery output. now I'm back to normal(as normal as I get)...And have been tracking my battery performance. I can get maybe 4 hours out of my batteries....I have used the usb in my computer(should charge completely in a couple of hours...right?)...5...6....10...hours and the light will still be red...red...red...touch the cable and it will turn green??????wtf. If I use the wall adapter it will show red nonstop....never turns green and I have left it plugged up that way at least 12 hours or more. I know that I am getting at least a little bit of a charge..a trickle charge if you will..because I have put what I know is a completely dead batt. on one of the two type charges and after some time they will show life(a charge). So I know that either my 2 batteries are defective(which I would think for both of them to be bad would be murphys law times 100) or now I'm thinking that maybe I have a bad charger(best case ). Has any one else had a bad charger? kind of stymied right now....spend all of my time making sure that I have a battery plugged up to something somewhere just to make sure that I have a 2 to 4 hour window that I can use my new toy. So now....a scary ?. Went and looked at the warranty for batteries. 30..60..90 days or whatever....that's good. Unless there is flooding. What constitutes flooding? In my mind flooding means A LOT of liquid, but in vape land does flooding mean absolutely any liquid that hits the batt? I have noticed a few times a small amount of liquid @ the battery connection. Is this normal...does this happen a lot. I'm not talking puddles...just a small bit...maybe 20% of 1 drop out of a bottle...or is that enough to flood a manual battery. Just kinda freaking right now because this has actually been working great to rid myself of the analogs(sorry...still find that term to be very funny...don't know why just do and probably always will) and now this. As I am typing this I have both batteries here with me and I'm switching them out every 10 minutes just to get 3 or 4 tasty hits. This is no way to go through life...please help.

I'm sure I'm probably underestimating the actual time....and being in my front pocket I very well may have activated it...or maybe I vaped like a nic addicted chimp without realizing it...lol... Thanks kit...I am feeling way better and yes...it does taste way better than analogs. In fact the last drummie I had tasted pretty bad and I have always looked forward to a smoke and a lot of the reason was for the flavor. The exotic tasted terrible at first but its tasting better each time. I wonder if this could be the nic I'm tasting because my own little mixtures (0 nic) so far have tasted pretty good.

I'm sure I'll get the hang of the carts. So far the one battery has lasted about 4 hours, maybe 5 for a couple of go rounds and the other a little longer. I dunno...I'll try to make an effort to really time them this next time, but do know that yesterday I drained them both. Did have it in my pocket so.....

well....my ego finally arrived saturday, unfortunately a good case of the grunge hit me at about the same time so I didn't/haven't really had the chance to go nuts with it like I would have liked to, but real quickly a few thoughts. First off a big thanks to everyone on this forum who helped to make my decision a bit easier and much more informed( heck....I could have ended up with a blu...)and a big shout out to christopher and the vapor talk gang. Was short 1 bottle of liquid and that was taken care of in very short order. Thanks all. First off, the ego is a sexy little unit. My main goal is to get off analogs and did not want a unit that looked like a real cig. This thing is just what I had hoped it would be. So... a few comments and a few questions. The cartridges that came with the unit have far exceeded my expectations. Great draw and TONS of vape. The atomizers came with carts on them that had no filler in them...I'm assuming that these serve as the mouthpiece for the atomizer when direct dripping? Been somewhat disappointed with the cartomizers so far. Threw one due to not getting a good draw on it after trying everything I could find on this forum to try. Second one has been better, but nowhere near the production of the regular cart. The batterys have not lasted nearly as long as I hoped they would but perhaps after a few charges that may change. Other than that ( hope that didn't sound negative) I am very happy and think that this will help me to achieve my goal of becoming smoke free. In the last 2 days I have had a total of 4 drummies (hand rolled) as opposed to the 80 or so that I normally would have had, so I'm very hopeful.

Thanks kit and brian. Good point brian about cleaning up. Was so pumped to get my package and at the same time felt so bad that I could have cared less. Fooled around a bit and then hit the couch sat. p.m. at 2:00 and didn't wake up again till sunday a.m.....hit the couch sunday a.m. @ 10:00 and didn't move till monday a.m.....called in sick..couch. Just finally getting a chance to get my feet wet and wouldn't you know it......after all the lurking and bothering people and thinking I had a handle on it....I open it up and feel like a.....noobie. Still.. what little I have played with it I really think that this is going to be it for me in terms of ridding myself of the evil analog. Will probably start a glorious new thread with my opinions, hopes, and all the new questions I now have after finally getting to actually touch the hardware. Congrats fino......recieved mine saturday.....unfortunately my ego and a good touch of the ?flu?....arrived at the exact very same time. I've been a tad cautious in trying out everything(well up to a point.....was sick as s@%t and still fumbled around with it when I should have been in bed) but can almost tell you that this has a very good chance of working for me. Actually, haven't even hit it real hard and have already knocked my analog(lol...that term still tickles the sh#$ out of me)intake down about 90%. called in sick to work mon. and tue.....mon day I had 2 smokes. Sorry....maybe not a good trooper, but compared to the 40+ a day....I'll take that. Today....well...had one....kinda ashamed....need to get my bag of shag outta here. Point is....I haven't really had the chance to embrace the whole thing, and I too think that this is going to work for me also. Best of luck to you....and kick the s#$% out of an analog(lol) for me.

Don't know how many of you are familiar with the communal mail box, but it is one big box, usually located very far away from where YOU live and in the most inconvenient location that can be found in a subdivision. The actual bins are slightly larger than a pack of gum...so if you recieve a large package it goes into the big bin. She didn't pull out a priority package and put it in the bin. Now I still smiled as she pulled away...but in my mind I was doing terrible...very horrid things to this lady. I know...not her fault(or is it?) but horrid things nonetheless. A couple of stiff bourbons on the rocks and I feel now that I might make it. But I need to give y'all a big heads up. My hawkeyes are playing ohio st.tomorrow....at home....But I'm not feeling it.
