Not normal. Neither of our subvods got hot. Warm, yes, but only after continual constant use.

Good vape experience with Sigelei mods

I have the fuchai, it was my first big mod. I love that it changes in .5 increments as opposed to .1. I also like the larger display than the rx200. Downsides is the temp control doesn't work right and you can't adjust the tcr to make it right. -
Reuleaux RX200 slight qwerk.

I'm sure you can revert back on the rx's. My cuboid does the same quirk. Change the batteries and lose a tenth, change the tank, same thing. Not a big deal for me. I haven't done the new upgrade yet, been too busy/lazy. -
Juice ratio is a factor, age of the coil is another. The coils for our subvods would last a week, week and a half. You can't expect alot of vapor production from subvods, they do surprisingly well for what they are, no doubt, but don't expect to go all 'clouds bro' with them.
-
We got cuboids from myvaporstore.com on the cheap.
-
I currently run the hg2's on my rx 200 with no issues. I think you'll be fine, iirc those are 20a so you should be well covered.
-
Joytech cuboids are pretty awesome. They run just about everything. I like the idea of the dripbox. It's got the flavor bonus of dripping without so much of the hassle. Flip side of that is you get good at re-wicking. But as I understand it they are selling replacement prebuilt coils.
-
Yeah likely the juice. Like was already mentioned, more vg more cloud.
-
The new kanger with the squeeze bottle is sqwank (sp?) My velocity rda can do it but I don't have a mod that will support it. I see no reason to go unregulated. I prefer to have the added safety of related boxes. I do like dripping, you get much better flavor coils last longer and you get to learn how to wick coils! Lol I started with a infinite clone and that was ok till the center post started to spin. So I shelled out for a authentic velocity rda and it's awesome. Not good for on the go as tanks, but I love it at home.

Don't forget to prime your coils when you're putting your tank together! There's no shortage of youtube vids on how to prime the coils, and it is key! (otherwise you'll burn the coil up) It's also wise to do a few pulls on the tank without hitting the fire button and to let the tank sit a few min once you've got juice in it. You want the juice to wick as well as you can get it to.

According to what I see in the specs, yes it'll work, but the 40w cap in my opinion would be pretty low. The downsides of one of those for me is the internal battery, so if the battery goes, the mod is bricked, unless you can find a way to replace the battery, and I'm not sure if they have countermeasures for that. I tend to prefer external batteries, that way if a battery goes south, I can just replace them. That being said, it is advised that if you get a 2 battery mod, you marry the batteries, always use the same 2 at a time, charge them together, use them together, not actually take them to the courthouse... lol All that being said, I know that brand to be well spoken of, but I personally haven't laid hands on any. The pricepoint is pretty good compared to going the route of the cuboid which would be around (mod 40+2 batteries 13+ 2 bay charger 20) ~70bux. Features and Specs: 510 Threaded Dimensions: 3-1/16"L x 1-3/8"W x 7/8"D Size: 36.2mm*22.3mm*77.3mm Capacity: 2600mAh Rated output wattage: 1-40W Rated resistance range: 0.05-1ohm (TC mode), 0.15-3.5ohm (VW mode) Temperature range: 100-315℃/200-600℉ (TC mode) Clear OLED display Accurate reading of resistance: The reading of resistance becomes more accurate with the number down to the second decimal point. Stainless steel threads and spring connector Micro USB Charging Port You know it's time for a coil change when you notice a drastic change in flavor, less vapor, and a burnt cotton taste. Many things will effect this, I'm killing coils every 3 days here lately, and I'm down to 2 reasons. Bum coils, or my juice source. I'm getting ready to re-order some coils and get juice from mt baker vs my local source and see if there is a difference... -
I can't speak to adjustable pen types, I'm over their heads at this point. If you are looking to go bigger, my opinion would be the only way to go is regulated mod boxes. Depending on how you want to go, I'm a big fan of the cuboid, it's affordable, and has all the bells and whistles that are currently the rave, 200w, temp control, and simple as simple can be. Good chip in it senses the coil quick (quicker than my rx200, fuchai, snow wolf) but you would have to purchase another tank separate and you'd better budget at least 4 batteries and a decent charger to go with all that. All can be done reasonable liionwholesale is a good source for batteries, and nitecore chargers tend to be raved about, I've got 2 nitecore chargers a 2 bay basic, and a 4 bay digital display one, and the digital 4 bay is fantastic for battery monitoring. You could go with a Kanger mod, and they are fine and good, tend to be a bit more, and tend to have a bit more limitations. I've had a kbox mini and it was good and fine, but tapped out at 50w. I prefer a warmer vape than it could provide. It seems most of the kangers are single battery mods, which limits battery life. It just kinda depends on how you vape. If you are doing mouth to lung folks tend to suggest kanger sub tank mini's but I've found you can do mouth to lung on just about any tank, you just adjust the airflow down to your liking. I tend to run wide open, but I'm also doing mostly direct lung hits. Some of the kanger kits provide a RBA deck if you want to build your own coils. Flip side of that lots of other tanks do too. If battery life is key, and size is not a factor for you, consider a rx200 paired with any tank. It's a 3 battery rig and fantastic by all accounts. There are just soooooooooooo dang many options and ways to go about what you want. I personally run 3 rigs, I have a rx200 for work, a cuboid for backup at work/around town and a fuchai that tends to stay home. To go on those I have a triforce 30mm (again for work, HUGE tank) a regular triforce, and a velocity RDA for home. But these are just what I've kept, I've also had a snow wolf, xcube2, and a tfv4 tank, just acquired a herakles, (for the ol lady) The tfv4 ate coils every 3 days, the xcube2 was techy but glitchy and over bulky for what it was. The herakles is a decent tank, but I like the bigger coils for the triforce. Crap I just remembered I have a tugboat RDA I haven't even touched. lol. Be careful, I replaced cigarettes with a vape device addiction. lol

My tanks will make noise from time to time. Usually indicates the coil might be flooded. Is it your mod or tank making the noise? What are you running?

x2. .5 and .2 coils will need more wattage to function properly, as I've learned. Thats not to say that a 30w won't run a .5 because our kanger subvod's can run .5 coils. What is key is that more/adjustable wattage gives you more flavor, and vapor production. Depending on your juice source, you'll find yourself hunting flavor in different ranges. The kanger subvods tap out at (iirc) 45w with a .5 coil. Same juice in a different tank with more wattage provided better flavor on a .5 coil. Right now I'm running a few setups. I have a .2 kanthal in one triforce at 60-65w. A .14 ni200 coil in another triforce at 65w, and a .33 kanthal coil in my RBA running at 55w. All juices from the same source, 20pg 80vg 3nic. Point being, experiences may vary. lol but for that tank I would suggest a regulated mod vs a battery type device. A good cheap one I could suggest would be a cuboid, you can get them for less than 40 bux. (but would be wise to get at least 4 batteries and a decent charger) -
Subtank mini's are good tanks. Our kbox came with one. Ol lady still uses it. Plenty of coil options but the ol lady was less than impressed with the Claptons. Don't worry about a rba low Tam says, unless you are intent on getting into building your own coils.

Sub-ohm is nothing to fear. I started in December and have had nothing but sub-ohm devices. I started out with the subvod kit, and a kbox mini, which is similar to what you've got and what your looking at. I had the desire for more as well. Now let me correct myself. Between the subvod and kbox, I bought a fuchai and a triforce tank, that rig showed me what vaping could be, so when I got the kbox mini, I was fairly disappointed. Harder draw, less flavor, where as with the bigger setup and more power, I got far more flavor, could breathe thru the tank more or less which equates to more vapor. But the kbox has adjustability over the subvod so that was a plus. I could squeeze slightly more flavor out of the kbox because I could run higher wattage. That being said, it all depends on what you are looking for. After the upgrade you seem to be going with here, if you still want more, don't be scared to go bigger wattage or sub ohm. I'm a flavor chaser, clouds are cool, but I want excellent flavor more than anything. When the day comes for the next upgrade, I can suggest the joytech cubiod mod, it's easy to use, 2 18650 batteries for plenty of power, and will run anyway you want to, be it temp control, power, or their simplistic smart mode. It will run just about any tank on the market. As for tanks, I'm in love with the triforce, but there are the herakles (less airflow vs triforce) tfv4 (I fought coil life, 3 days was poor) but there are no shortage of options.

Thinking about the cuboid...
hicksvilleshick replied to hicksvilleshick's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Traded for a herakles got one of the stainless steel 316 coils and ran it in temp control and it worked fine in the ss316 mode. Low on triforce coils I threw a nickel coil in the big triforce, and in nickel mode is working well. This is the only time I've ever had a ni200 coil work in the stock nickel mode. Even on the rx200 I have to jack the tcr way up to get it to work right. Gotta say the cuboid was a solid buy. Battery life is acceptable, since I've had it a few days now and I'm not just constantly chooching. -
Well with my recent addition of the cuboid, I had to make some room on my nightstand... Traded off the snow wolf for a herakles plus and a authentic v1 tugboat. Then promptly had one of my rx200's imren batteries crap the bed. Went to work yesterday and noticed I was well into the battery meter only 2 hours into work, plugged it in, and it said there was a imbalance. Got home and threw them on the charger, and 1 of the 3 refused to charge. So payday I get to buy some more. I just got 4 from liionwholesale.com for the cuboids and plan to get another 5 or 6 more. Which brought to mind, have any of ya'all had battery failures? how did they go? was I just lucky mine decided to just not charge...

Thinking about the cuboid...
hicksvilleshick replied to hicksvilleshick's topic in General Vaping Discussion
Mods and batteries arrived today. I am pleased so far. I've already upgraded the firmware on both and the ol lady seems to dig on hers. Battery life on hers seems to be fantastic, but with mine it's a new toy, so it didn't get put down much. lol I've gotten into the habit of using my velocity when I'm home so it's currently running it, but I had the small triforce on it, and it was running it perfectly. I like the puff counter, but hoped the 'time' would be the actual time, not time vaping, but I suppose thats helpful too... lol -
Having had my hands on a cuboid for all of today now, it's much smaller, as powerful, same options (plus a couple if you like the smart setup) and functions well. I can't really judge battery life quite yet, as I just put a fully charged set in, so we'll see how that goes. Right now the fuchai and snow wolf are parked cause the cuboid is the new toy so I hope to have a better grasp on how well it does with batteries.

I could provide some insight, but with your attitude, I'd suggest looking elsewhere for help.

in search of a sub ohm tank for me
hicksvilleshick replied to twilightbloom's topic in General Vaping Discussion
I'm starting to do the same with my triforce coils. When it seems they are getting weak, I pull them clean the bottom, and try to scrape a bit of the gunk off the coil, and that seems to stretch them a couple days at least. I've been chasing my tail trying to figure out what seems to be shortening my coils' lifespan. I've got 3 mods and 2 triforce tanks, 1 gets used 8 hours at work, and then my RDA and small triforce get used the rest of the time. I could understand the big triforce chewing them up, But I've gotten to where I'm tracking changes and it's almost crazy. I vape pretty heavily too so maybe it's just that. I go thru between 100-150ml a week. I haven't been able to rule out the juices tho either... so I dunno. As for the OP. I like the triforces, they do get pretty hot if you chain vape, but the 2 I have have been fantastic. Both mine leaked initially, but after changing the gasket between the chimney and coil, no severe leaking until the coil craps out. The 30mm leaks a bit after a fill, but I chalk that up to pressure from filling. I run the .2 coils. I have yet to try the .5 coils. -

Ol lady got a new gig so I pulled the trigger on celebratory mods. Ordered 2 mods and 4 batteries (lg hg2's iirc) mods will be here tomorrow and hopefully the batteries will too, if not they'll be here tuesday. Kinda stoked cause my lead guy at work got a cuboid so I've gotten to fiddle with it a bit and I like the size and screen alot. I think I'm going to look at picking up either another triforce or herakles for it for me, and another triforce or something for the ol lady's. I've got to find somewhere to buy triforce coils in bulk. lol -
The only downsides are the size and weight... But I like most will happily trade size and weight for a mod that will run 12+ hours with every vaping option currently available... Even with size being a downside, it fits your hand extremely well. It's the only mod I've been able to get temp control coils to work close to right (having to fiddle with the tcr's to get it to work) but I run it in wattage mode the vast majority of the time, and it's flawless.

The rx200 will match up to just about everything on the market. It'll run the low watt small tanks, and the higher watt sub ohm tanks with ease.
