  1. When using a multimeter to check a coil you have to remember to consider the lead resistance. this can be determined by touching the probes together and holding them for a few seconds. mine happens to be .25 ohms which has to be subtracted from the total resistance when checking the coil.
  2. I don't use the stock coils in the subtank mini since the first one, and only used that while I was building the first RBA.
  3. That depends on the mod and how accurate you want to be. I find that the mods I have are within .1 - .2 ohms of what my multimeter reads. That's usually close enough for most builds. some mods might not be accurate.
  4. If you prime the coil on the subtank mini a little of the juice gets on the o-ring and makes it slide onto the chimney better. I have 4 subtank mini tanks and the only problem I have had is I dropped one and broke the glass (not Kangers fault).
  5. I'm assuming you have a subox mini since its the only 50w mod Kanger makes. The horizon factory coils are 1.2, .5, .2, I'm also assuming you are not using the .2ohm coil, since that mod is not supposed to fire below .3 ohms. .5ohms @‌ 50w = 5v 30w = 3.8v 1.2ohms @‌ 50w = 7.75v 30w = 6v Hopefully you are not using the 1.2 coil, if you are using the .5 coil you are probably using too many watts, turn it back down to 30 watts or lower.
  6. Most of the people on here use either mods or egos with refillable tanks, personally I use a subtank mini on a subox mini.
  7. This is the formula for calculating resistance in parallel. Resistor in parallel: Rtotal = 1/(1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 ... + 1/Rn) basically if you run two 1.0 ohm resistors in parallel you will end up with a total of .5 resistance. running resistance in series is a whole different thing.
  8. Can you imagine filling your dripper and texting at the same time while driving. That's real multitasking.
  9. I have experience in the closed hot car thing, what a mess. A black subtank mini does not do well in a closed black car when its 100 degrees outside.
  10. In some states you can get a ticket for attaching something to the inside of the windshield, (besides the rearview mirror). I don't drip but I can see some people attaching it to their windshield. I have a hard enough time vaping while riding my bike, I usually wait until I stop, then grab a few puffs.
  11. I don't know about other people but I see this as a safety issue when used while driving, the anti vaping people will use this to help their cause. Although it does seem like a good idea when not driving.
  12. vaporrenu has a cucumber mint $7.49 for 30ml. They are a part of Flavor West in So Cal.
  13. I don't have a istick 50w but I do have 3 subox minis, haven't had any trouble with any of them. A 50w mod is a 50w mod, what's important is the tank, the nautilus uses standard coils, the subox mini kit comes with a subtank mini, which includes a RBA if you think you might want to try to build your own coils go with the subtank, if you are happy just using stock coils go with the nautilus, keep in mind the stock coils for the subtank cost more. Its all about what you want to do.
  14. I have seen a few reports on this subject, Mostly its due to juice leaking into the electronics, which can happen to most any mod. I have no experience with a Istick so I don't know how well they are sealed. This is one reason leaky tanks should not be used.
  15. Has anyone here used Olive Nation extracts for flavoring ejuice? The reason I ask is one person I know has reaction to PG, and Olive Nation sells PG free extracts.
  16. About the only person on here that could help you with flavors is Comp, and I doubt he will give up any of his secrets, and I don't look down on him for that. I'm sure that USPS don't have juice sniffing dogs.
  17. Gotvapes, and extreme vaping have both the full size and the mini Davide that use the single kanger coil. I have never ordered from either place so I can't recommend them.
  18. One thing about DIY supplies if you put them in the freezer they last for years. I do DIY and find that I enjoy it, I can mix my juice however I want to. One example is I prefer less PG but want good wicking, so I only use the PG in the flavoring and thin it with water (distilled water) I was using 10% water but found it was too thin so I went to 5% which seems about right. Not very many if any juice vendors will substitute water for PG. It also lowers the drying that vaping causes and seems to keep the coils cleaner.
  19. I know someone that uses a Kanger subtank with a .5 coil, he only uses 15 watts and says his coils last 3 weeks. that's like buying a Ferrari to go 2 blocks to the 7-eleven.
  20. Its called shinyitus very contagious, I was even considering the new 100 watt istick, but didn't do it. maybe next month, I usually don't go over 20 watts don't know why I would need 100 watts.
  21. In the past two months I bought 3 Kanger subtank mini kits and 2 extra subtank minis, I spent enough for awhile. We were all noobs/nerds when we first started.
  22. Sure am glad I decided to hold off on TC for awhile.
  23. I once thought about buying a EGO one but decided I wanted something with a replaceable battery, any 510 threaded tank should fit on there, just replace the tank with something that is known to work good.
  24. I thought when you set a TC mod you set the temperature. or did they change that because it was too easy.
  25. You might try this joules to watts calculator. http://rapidtables.com/calc/electric/Joule_to_Watt_Calculator.htm
