And who says vaping saves you money. I don't see it that way. I spent almost $300 this month so far on vape gear. I quoted the wrong post didn't I

I have also heard that Ni200 needs a break in period, and Ti doesn't, don't know if that's true or not. I quit dry burning for the most part also. I use a sonic cleaner instead. I have 5 extra subtank RBAs so I wait until I have at least 3 to be cleaned before I do it. That way they get cleaned completely instead of just the coil.
-
From what I read if you get Ti too hot it will ignite, and above 700 degrees it will give off titanium oxide which they say is not good for you, in a TC use it shouldn't get close to that temp. So no dry burning I guess.
-
I ordered a extra subtank base for that reason, but while I was waiting to get it I discovered the subtank mini RBA fits in a T3 base, or a EVOD base, that's how I check mine. I know the resistance don't affect the power but the lower the resistance the more watts is needed, at least that's been my experience.

Trouble is I don't know if the Kanger platinum has a Ti mode, none of the advertisements say if it does or not, but I assume it uses the same chip as the NEBOX so I guess it does. I didn't see in the specs for the NEBOX that it has Ti mode, they just don't put all the need to know things in the specs. What ohm Ti coil are you using?
-
That's normally how I do it, but this time I wanted some input on titanium coils, pros and cons. looking at steam charts you can run Ti coils on a NI curve using a 350 degree setting and get 450 degrees with a lot less power consumption. I guess I'll find out.
-
Like I said I have a lot to learn about TC. Right now I'm running a 1.0 ohm kanthal coil in a Nano at 10 watts, and its vaping good. I don't like to run over 15 watts, and the higher the resistance the less watts you need. That's the reasoning for the 0.15 or above.
-
I thought about 28g Ni200, but I would like to get 0.15 ohm or above to save on power consumption 0.15 ohms at 60 watts is 3 volts and 20A.
-
I have done a little research into since ordering a TC mod. I think I will order some 26g titanium, and some 30g Ni200. 5 wraps on 3mm should give me 0.22 ohms using the 26g titanium, but I'll need about 8 wraps with the Ni200 to get 0.15 ohms. From what I found out the Kanger platinum will only go down to 0.1 ohm.

If you go to steam it gives the conversion factor so you can use Ti in Ni mode its about 100 degrees difference. I plan to use a IR temp sensor to check it anyway, just to be on the safe side.

I don't see titanium coils discussed much here, got a question about it, and this seems to be the place for it. I recently preordered a Kanger subox platinum, and I want to use titanium coils in a subtank mini RBA. The reason for wanting to use titanium is it holds its shape better and is easier to work with, it also has more resistance than Ni200, which means less wraps on the coil, so it should fit better in the RBA. Just wanted to know other peoples opinion of titanium coils. I don't even know if the Kanger platinum has a Ti mode, but from what I researched I can use the Ni mode and set it about 100 degrees lower and get the temp I want.

Another alternative is to use KPT dual coils, I use them in my Davide mini, and they work just fine. They are available from 1.8 ohm to 0.8 ohm. I'm not recommending them just saying they are a option, I have never tried the aspire BVC coil so don't know anything about them.
-
I have 3 subox minis, two are fine no problems, but 1 the fire button don't seem to be right, there is no slight click when the button is pushed, other than that it works fine, and I checked online with Kanger and it is authentic. Has anyone here taken one of these apart, there is 1 screw inside the battery compartment but no luck taking it apart after the screw is removed. I looked again and there is another screw under the kanger sticker, must be so they will know if you messed with it.

I also have a subtank mini, actually 3, but what I do to sample a flavor is I use the RBA section. I put a new wick in it, soak it with the juice I want to sample, put on the tank and sample it. I don't even bother to put the top piece on the RBA, since the tank has no juice in it there is no leaks.

3ml in a 30ml bottle is 10% 3.5ml is about 11.6% in a 30ml mix I would use a max of 1ml of mint. But I don't know if the flavor was a premix of mint and banana, or if you used two separate flavors. I don't usually use flavors that are premixed, I like to mix my own, that way I can get the flavor I want, sometimes it turns out good sometimes not. Out of the 30+ flavors that I have only 2 are premixed, they are Kahlua, and Absinthe. The rest I mix a little of this and a little of that until I get the flavor I want.
-
When adding mint or menthol to a mix I try not to go above 3%, but some people like a stronger flavor. I have a friend I mix for he likes butterscotch, and vanilla, with menthol in it. Everybody's taste is different.
-
In my opinion mint is a very strong flavor and hard to cover up, its like trying to cover up menthol.

I always buy vape hardware online, the only vape related stuff I bought locally was a 18650 battery once and some VG from the local health food store a couple of times.
-
I think I'll wait for the Kanger Kbox Mini Platinum, which is identical to the subox mini except its TC, stainless steel, and 60 watts.
-
Using 72mg nic PG base he would have to lower the nic level to 14.4 to achieve a 40PG/60VG mix, or 7.2 nic to get a 30PG/70VG mix.
-
I didn't think about diluting the base, which I do all the time. That's why I use VG base.
-
DIY juice is a learning process that never stops.
-
Assuming you use 20% flavor the highest VG mix you could do would be about 42PG/58VG. I agree with Comp on the nic base being 100% VG. I have a little over 1 1/2 liter of 100mg VG base in the freezer, Some of it is over a year old and it is only got a slight color to it, about the same as when I got it.

where ever you order from pay attention to the ingredients in the flavorings, try to stay away from Triacetin, it does not mix well and will separate (I speak from experience). Comp probably knows what else to look for. Triacetin will also destroy plastic tanks, so probably not good for the lungs. Just my opinion.
