  1. What works in a dripper may not work well in a tank, they are 2 different wicking systems. In one you drip juice directly on the wick the other has to transport the juice to the coil.
  2. A .5 coil needs less watts than a .2 coil I believe the triforce has more than 1 coil but I might be wrong, there are coils that have 3 - 4 coils inside them and the more coils the more power they need. The Kanger coils for the subtanks have 1 coil in them so they need less power. I am using a kanger Nano right now with a 1.0 ohm coil and using 10 watts. When I use a .5 coil I usually don't go over 12 watts.
  3. The SSOCC coils in 0.15ohm are suppose to be Ni200, and the 0.5, 1.2, and the 1.5ohm are SS according to advertising I have seen. I like the size of the Subox mini, The Subox Platinum TC is the same size but 60w instead of 50w. I got one of those coming on a slow boat from China. One of the things that turned me off about the NEBOX is no adjustable airflow.
  4. Kanger has a new mod coming out in January sometime, 200w and TC for Ni, Ti, SS, and Nichrome, it uses 2 18650 batteries I believe VapeNW has a presale on for them. They seem to be pretty reasonable, I think they are around $60.00 I was thinking about it but don't need 200w they are a little bigger than the Subox Mini. I might get one anyway. I guess its not a presale, just a preview.
  5. Everybody prefers what they like, I have heard that the SS coils have a cleaner taste, and don't require a break in period. I do know that Kangers new round coils for their Subtanks are going to be SS. I am waiting to get some 28g SS416L in vape mail, and will find out if I like SS.
  6. Your fuchai 200watt box has a 510 thread, even your Subvod tank should fit on it. Since you have a Kanger Nano I would recommend the Kanger Subtank mini so you could use the same coil. But remember to lower the wattage down. If you use a Subtank.
  7. The difference between the square coils and the round coils is the round are the newest coil kanger makes and I think they use SS416L coils where the square use a Nichrome coil. I think that is the difference but could be wrong. The Subvods I see for sale on the net have the shorter tank but if yours came with a Nano that's a plus. And like Comp said don't use the Ni200 coil in watt mode, and since the Subvod don't have TC don't use it. After looking on Sweetvapes I see their Subvod uses the new top fill Nano tank, hard to keep up with everything.
  8. Welcome and good you got off the Camels, The Subvod uses a Nano tank that has been shortened so it only holds 1.8 ml. If you need more capacity you can pick up a regular Nano tank, they hold 3 ml. It uses the same coils, but is taller. None of my Subtank minis, or Nanos leak unless I leave them in the sun.
  9. Welcome to the vape world, but you got to be careful you don't get that affliction known as Shinyitus, very common to people who vape its not hazardous to your health but its very hazardous to your wallet, a lot of us have it.
  10. I tried a tight fitting wick a couple of times but seem to get a burnt taste after 2 or 3 hits. Right now I use watts but once my TC mod gets here I will probably try a tighter wick with TC maybe that might make a difference. Right now I use a snug fit. That pre order Kanger TC mod hasn't shipped yet so it will be a few weeks before I can try it.
  11. If there is a Vape group in your area the local vape shops should know about it, check with them.
  12. If you get the cotton too tight it won't wick very good, if you get it too loose it will leak. Takes a lot of trial and error to get it just right. Once you figure it out the rewicking goes pretty easy.
  13. Where did they get the ejuice that they tested, from China probably. Most US flavor makers got away from Diacetyl for the most part, and the other chemicals can be found in vegetables. Slanted one sided propaganda as I see it. I'm not saying that stuff is good for your lungs but it has to be better than the thousands of chemicals in cigarettes. I wonder how much this study cost the taxpayers?
  14. Ni200 is pure nickel. NICR is Nichrome which is a alloy, at least that's how I see it. Ni200 is used for temperature control and Nichrome is usually used in wattage mode.
  15. The lead wires on a multimeter have resistance, I have a Fluke 87 and the leads have a .3ohm resistance, its easy to find out the resistance just by touching the probes together for a couple of seconds. on my multimeter if the resistance says .3ohms that means its a dead short.
  16. I don't have a EVIC TC but the screen should be attached to the circuit board if it is like other mods I have seen. If the screen has become detached from the circuit board. it will need to be repaired. Like I say I don't have one maybe someone will show up that has one and can help you.
  17. The Pegasus looks like a good choice, but not the TFV4 for a tank, from what I have read on them they need a lot of power, and 70 watts might not be enough for some of the coils. I would recommend either the Aspire Triton2 or the Kanger subtank Mini. Just my opinion.
  18. If I remember right you have a Subox Mini, that mod will go 50 watts with a .3ohm coil so you are well within the limits of your mod. I use the same mod and tank, I use 28g kanthal with a 5/4 wrap on 3mm and get .9 - 1.0 ohm coil, that is my normal build set at 10 watts. Of course the juice makes a difference, on your wattage, I use a 30PG/70VG mix, at that wattage. Your watts will vary with your juice.
  19. You don't see many VV mods, mostly VW mods. What happens is when you set the watts the mod reads the ohms and puts out the voltage to get the desired wattage. A good example would be if you have a .4ohm coil and you set the watts at 50 watts the mod will put out 4.47 volts regardless of the voltage of the battery. It either steps up the voltage or reduces it. VW mods supply a consistent voltage, and give you a more consistent vape.
  20. I went a little overboard last week and ordered 5 more RBAs, I guess I'll have a few backups for my backups. Plus I ordered some RBA heads for my Nano tanks, don't know yet about the quality since they are not made by Kanger.
  21. Another option would be to put cotton in the RBA that came with the kit, there are numerous videos on the net explaining how to do it. The RBA comes with a .5 coil installed, but no cotton. Of course you will have to use wattage mode. What I like about using the RBA is you never have to buy another coil. But you may buy a extra RBA.
  22. Why they sold you a TC unit at that local B&M I can only guess. They should have sold you a Kanger Subtank mini kit, much more user friendly. Maybe they didn't have any. If you take it back to them tell them to put it in watt mode and sell you some regular coils for it I think you will be much happier. Unless you already know how to put it in watt mode.
  23. It would help if you knew what mode you are using Ni or Ti both modes are used for TC but they have to match the type of coil you are using. As much trouble you are having I would suggest getting some standard Nichrome coils, either 1.5 or .5 ohms and run in wattage mode. Just saying that might be the best thing for you at this time until you can learn more about TC.
  24. Raise the temp a little at a time until you get the flavor you want. Ask the store what the PG/VG ratio is, they should be able to tell you. I use a 20PG/ 80Vg ratio, and no wicking problems or taste problems. But I don't use TC just wattage with Kanthal coils. I have a TC mod on the way but don't know when it will be shipped yet. (preordered Kanger Platinum)
  25. When I decided to give TC a try my research led me to believe Ni200 is very soft and can get smashed very easy, so going to give Ti a chance first, its a bit harder, and holds it shape better according to what I read.
