  1. If you are looking for portability you could try the Subvod, at around $25 you get everything but the juice. The best part is they use the same coil as the Subtank mini, which you already have. I use a Subvod when I ride my bike and it works great.
  2. Flavoring, PG, and VG should still be available for at least 2 more years. Maybe even longer, they are still used for other things besides ejuice. 18650, and 26650 batteries will still be used for flashlights, and other things. The vape industry will not end we will just have to find other ways to get what we need.
  3. I have probably a 10 year supply of Nic base to DIY. I doubt very much that the Chinese vendors will require a ID to sell hardware. It probably depends on the State where the online vendor is located. I won't leave myself open to identity theft by sending personal information over the internet, CC info is bad enough.
  4. I doubt it very much that many will do that, The FDA regs don't require online retailers to check ID.
  5. Looks like LV won't be getting any more business from me. I never had ordered a lot from them to start with.
  6. I keep most of my nic base, PG, and VG in the freezer. It doesn't freeze solid, but gets really thick. I'm still using nic base that I got about 3 years ago, when I got it I broke 1 liter of 100mg base into 4 250 ml glass bottles, and stored most of it in the freezer. I use a 250 ml bottle to do my mixing with. Its just as clear as the day I put it in there, no noticeable oxidation yet. The nic base might be the only thing that will be hard to get, VG and PG will always be available. so will flavors. Right not I have 9 250 ml bottles of 100mg base in the freezer, besides the 250 ml bottle I mix with. I don't know how long already mixed juice would last, but I'm guessing at least several years if kept in the freezer, with as little air in the bottle as possible. I use 4mg juice so a 250 ml bottle of 100mg should make about 6250 ml of juice.
  7. Other than using water, you can do what I sometimes do, use a little fresh squeezed lemon or orange juice to thin it. Filter it with a coffee filter first so you don't get any pulp in your tank which can plug the cotton, I keep a small bottle of filtered lemon juice in the fridge just for that reason.
  8. It has been my experience that SS coils needs a little less wattage than Kanthal or Nichrome coils, for the same resistance coil. I may be wrong but that seems to be the case. I have no experience with the istick 40w TC mod, but the best way I have to unlock a coil is to press the fire button with no tank attached, the mod should show no resistance. Sometimes I have to do that with my Kanger 120w TC before it will ask if a new coil is being used. In power mode it should not ask if a new coil is being used. you didn't say if the ratio is 90% PG or 90% VG, if you are using 90% VG you may have a wicking problem. If you are using 90% VG a few drops of water in the tank will thin it enough to wick better.
  9. I personally have a preference for the LG HG2 batteries, other people may have a different choice. They are a good 20A battery with a 3000mAh capacity, and work well with any tank, including the subohm tanks. Always buy from a reputable dealer, and never buy batteries off of ebay.
  10. I get my Nic base, VG, and PG from Heartland Vapes. I get my flavors from Flavors West. Heartland Vapes has flavors from all the major flavor manufacturers, also. Why I get my flavors from Flavor West instead of getting them from HV I can't answer, its probably the same flavor.
  11. Earthling is right on the o-rings, factory installed coils aren't always right. Your heat problems are a different matter, I have 2 Subvods and when I use the .5 coils they tend to make the tank pretty hot. If you use the 1.2 or the 1.5 coils the heat will be less. Change the coil and your problems might end.
  12. Sounds like you have a good PG/VG ratio, You are doing everything right, and I don't have an answer to your problem, but I don't have the tanks that you have, I use Kanger subtank minis, and the tanks are similar but not the same. Maybe someone that has the same kind of tank that you have will have an answer for you. Maybe if you use TC it might help.
  13. This is a guess on my part, but maybe your juice is too thick, you didn't say what the PG/VG ratio is, if your wick isn't allowing enough juice flow you will get what most people refer to as a dry hit, which is harsh. Also some coils have the cotton packed too tight, which slows the juice flow.
  14. If you get a disrupter don't forget to get a extra battery. That way you can charge one while using the other, the battery has a USB port in it so you won't have to buy a charger. Other than that it sounds like a good combo. The istick 50w has a 4400mAh battery, the disrupter has a 2000mAh battery. Do you need long life or not?
  15. Maybe you should check out the subtank mini, it comes with a RBA, and extra glass. Some people say its not good for mouth to lung hits, but everybody has a different point of view and different preferences. And the deck is easy to build on.
  16. The vape industry is not doomed, but after 2 or 3 years the only companies that will be able to sell vape products will be the large multibillion dollar companies that can afford the PMTA testing. The hardware choices will also be limited to a few select items. We can only hope that the FDA rules will be changed or done away with in the next few years. Personally I have enough hardware, and DIY supplies to last several years, who the new rules will affect is the new people that want to vape instead of smoke. Just have to wait and see.
  17. The FDA cannot legally ban ecigs, it isn't in their power to do that, only Congress can do that, and that's not going to happen. In my opinion they are trying to regulate it out of existence by causing it to be more expensive than smoking.
  18. I seem to be stuck on the Kanger subtank mini, or the nano. Coils seem to last a long time, I only use the factory coils in the Nano, I use the RBAs in the minis. But I also use a Pro tank 2 sometimes, and like Tam said they are workhorses, and the coils are cheap and easy to find.
  19. The V/T store has the coils you need, as far as the ohms go that would depend on your preferences, most people here prefer the 1.8 ohm coil. There are some Chinese vendors where you can order in bulk, but you may wait a couple of weeks or longer for delivery.
  20. I spent the weekend in Washington, came back Monday, they seem to have as many Vape shops as they do Starbucks. The motel didn't allow smoking in the rooms but they did allow vaping. Now if they honored Oregon CWP without stopping to check in with the WSP we might go up there more often.
  21. I know one person who buys VG at the health food store, and mixes grocery store flavoring to it. Don't know how healthy the flavoring is to use but if you look at what it has in it you can find some that is not PG based. Most I believe are water/alcohol based. VG is actually fairly cheap, and flavoring is not that expensive, so it might be a alternative to straight VG. The non PG flavors I get I buy online. When buying flavoring you have to pay a lot of attention to what's in it. I normally use about 20% flavoring, but when using a non PG flavor I usually go about 25%, it seems to take a little more when its non PG.
  22. If you are sensitive to PG maybe you should try some non PG juice, I don't know anyplace that sells it, but I haven't really looked either. I DIY my juice and have made some non PG juice, with flavoring that has a 55% water and 45% alcohol base, I have to use a little more flavor than if I use a PG based flavor, but that's just me. My nic base is VG so there is no PG in it.
  23. These coils should fit. https://www.vaportalkstore.com/shop/pro-aero-tank-refill-coils/
  24. Bebop is correct about the juice, I mix a couple of my juices using a alcohol/water based flavor, and they tend to pop, and spatter a lot more than a PG based flavor. It is probably due to the fact that they vaporize at a much lower temp, I reduce the wattage or temp depending on what mode I am using, and it greatly reduces the popping and spatter.
  25. For right now not much, I have ordered another liter of 100mg Base for my DIY, which means I will probably have a 20 year supply since I use 4mg juice. I rebuild my coils so there isn't much to do there. I currently am using 5 mods that use 18650 batteries, also have 3 mods that are unopened, so I'm OK there. I also have 11 tanks that I use in rotation, and 6 more that are still in the box. Awhile back I got 10 extra RBAs for my subtanks, so OK on tanks too. The people that will be hit the hardest after 2 years are the ones that are just starting to vape. Keeping juice in the freezer will help on the shelf life, I have some nic base in the freezer that has been there for at least 2 years, and is just as clear as the day I put it in there. In my opinion you can either stock up or wait to see what happens, I'm kind of doing both. I can't see big companies like Kanger, and joytech throwing in the towel, they will fight back. I think the juice will be higher priced, and maybe the hardware, but the industry will survive this FDA mess.
