SMOK TFV8 Baby Beast - A Video Review
Adversarious1 replied to Adversarious1's topic in e Cigarette Reviews
Thank you, kind sir! I got a new GoPro for Christmas and am currently experimenting with it so I can do something a little more interesting than me just sitting in front of a sheet for future videos. I have several in mind. -
I want to get to be that old (however old that is), which is why I looked to vaping to get me off the analogs in the first place.

lol...KCAVO Keep Calm and Vape On When in doubt, consider this: so far there have been zero studies to definitively conclude vaping is dangerous to your health. There have also been zero studies to definitively conclude it is perfectly safe. But...there have been plenty of studies that show vaping is up to 95% safer than cigarettes.

The guy at one of my old local shops actually had a pretty cool little setup for polishing. He took an old RDA base that couldn't be repaired and welded a broken 1/4" hex wrench to the RDA base where the posts used to be. The 510 threads were still good. He would insert the RDA/hex wrench contraption into a drill chuck, screw a mod onto the old RDA base and let the drill do the work for him. Sadly the shop closed down. Might talk my brother into doing something similar for me if I ever come across an RDA base that can't be repaired.

There are other companies that tested the liquids for themselves after he released his report. Even Suicide Bunny responded to it and, after changing their ingredients, had their own testing done. It should be noted that there were many, many liquids tested by many manufacturers. Suicide Bunny just seemed to take the brunt of the criticism. Click this link. Fortunately Google and I are great friends. There is a tone of information specifically citing Mother's Milk by Suicide Bunny.
-
If I remember correctly it was first reported by Dr. Konstatinos Farsalinos. He is actually a huge advocate for vaping and has conducted several studies on the effects of vaping. He conducted some independent tests on several eliquids a couple of years ago and found that several liquids actually contained diacetyl and another chemical called acetyl propionyl. Both chemicals are commonly used and are safe for ingestion, but are not regarded as safe for inhalation. Somehow Suicide Bunny eliquids as a brand and Mother's Milk eliquid became the scapegoat in the whole situation when the news started getting spread around the internet. The truth of the matter is, something like 70% of the liquids he tested contained diacetyl, acetyl propionyl or both.

In a word, yes. There is nothing specific about strawberry flavoring unless you happen to be allergic to strawberries and the flavoring is naturally extracted from strawberries. The strawberry flavor you read about was most likely cited from an old story about a particular liquid that was found to contain (at the time) a high amount of a chemical called diacetyl. The liquid in question was Mother's Milk manufactured by Suicide Bunny. Even if you are vaping that now, they have since changed their formula and no longer use diacetyl in any of their products. There are a lot of myths and misinformation being spread around the internet. But there are also a lot of ways to debunk those myths and get the real story behind the information. Hitting up the forums and asking is one way. Google is another. Trust me, for every negative story out there about vaping in general, there is a story to debunk the bad information in it.

Looks great, Shen. I need to do the same with my Arthas. Looking a little worse for the wear.

I don't know about that. I routinely run coils at .15 ohms and I use a few juices that are 60/40 or 70/30 VG/PG and I don't get any popping. I have, however, heard of similar issues specifically with the notch coils. I seem to recall seeing a solution somewhere on a different site. I'll take a look around and see if I can find it.

OK...turns out I should have dived a little deeper into the escribe software. It will do everything for me as far as calculating overall efficiency based on the way I vape. As an added bonus, it looks like it will also simulate different settings, so I may be able to run simulations based on how others vape so I can make a somewhat educated recommendation to people who are looking at a DNA equipped mod in the future.
-
It has been a few weeks since I plugged it into the computer, but I'm pretty sure with the escribe software (DNA chip software) I can calculate the average puff length.
-
That's overenthusiastic? I thought that was just part of vaping!

Hey All, I decided I wanted to run my Lost Vape Triade through some tests. One of the things I'm looking at is the efficiency of the DNA200 chip (i.e. - battery life) because I haven't been able to find too many reviews that say much more than "oh, the DNA chips are awesome". I want to see actual results and have something to compare to. As it's the only mod I have that has a puff counter option, I'd like to know if any of you use a mod with a different chip that has a puff counter. Specifics I'd like to see are: Brand Model Chipset (if known) Single, dual, triple or quad battery 18650 or 26650 Average number of puffs on a fresh set of batteries Attomizer you typically run (RBA/RDA, RDTA or tank) Typical coil resistance (e.g. 1.5 ohm; 0.5 ohm) Typical wattage (or temperature setting if you are running TC) How far you drain batteries before you swap them out (e.g. - down to 20%) If there is anybody that has a really bad case of OCD and you manually or mentally keep track of your puffs, you're welcome to send feed back as well.

Another thread successfully derailed...lol Too bad that TFV12 this thread was originally about is too big to carry concealed. Not that it's going to stop me from buying one. (Or two or three.) -

Took me a couple of seconds to figure out what a 'watzit" bottle is. I like that description better than unicorn bottles. -

Those COV mini volts are finicky, but they are great for a stealth vape. -

Good thing I already have a CCW. -
Describe in a little more detail what you mean by just like your old 40 watt. There are a lot of folks around here who have experience with both the istick 40 and 80 that should be able to help you out, but they'll want more details.
-
The vg/pg ratio might help with the leaking issues, but it's likely something other than the liquid that is causing it.
-
And instead of calling people out for trying to be helpful it'd be nice if you just took it in stride.

Yep. I could easily go the next couple of years without having to buy any liquid, coils or batteries. 8 regulated mods, 4 mech mods, 13 tanks, 7 RDA's, 40 18650 batteries, 4 26650 batteries, plenty of coils for each of the tanks, 3000+ feet of wire in various gauges, enough Cotton Bacon that I think I should be considered a business partner, over a gallon (total) in store bought liquid and enough PG, VG, nic base and flavorings to make another 2+ gallons; and my stash pales in comparison to many. -
Short answer: Go with the copper. It's more that just aesthetics. If you're worried about your hand smelling pennies or the mod matching different RDA's then you can look into getting a wrap for it. My $50 copper Arthas and Infected Zombie mods both put my $250 stainless Hyon Ruga to shame in terms of performance. As far as the magnets vs the spring you might notice a difference. The pin that makes contact with the battery is generally screwed directly into the button, so any heat being transferred to that pin will also be transferred to the button. The main purpose of magnets vs. a spring is for a smoother button throw and return. The magnets will also provide a smoother return to the non-firing position. As silly as it sounds, even though the magnets will only be a fraction of a second faster, that quicker return to the non-firing position will have an effect on how much heat is being transferred.
