  1. You can run just about any tank you choose on that mod. The Treebox Plus will fire from .1 ohm to 3 ohms in wattage mode or from .06 to 2 ohms in TC mode.
  2. My Royal Hunter RDA (also from Council of Vapor) would look pretty sweet sitting on top of that. Hmmmmm....would the wife kill me? [emoji57] Sent from my heart using the Vapor Talk App. OK...OK...I'm kidding. I have no heart. But I did use the Vapor Talk Mobile App.
  3. I shot an email to Lars directly and asked him if the rumor is true. We'll see if I get a reply. Sent from my heart using the Vapor Talk App. OK...OK...I'm kidding. I have no heart. But I did use the Vapor Talk Mobile App.
  4. Holy Vapes, Batman!!! I want one of those! Sent from my heart using the Vapor Talk App. OK...OK...I'm kidding. I have no heart. But I did use the Vapor Talk Mobile App.
  5. I mostly use it at work and at home. With the 3ml capacity it definitely isn't a good tank for my commutes home, which average close to 2 hours every day. I have come close to vaping a full Cloud Beast at 6ml in that amount of time during a commute. But at work or at home where it only takes a few seconds to swing the top to the side and refill (I transfer all of my liquids to needle bottles for easier/quicker filling), it's my primary go-to tank right now.
  6. Agreed. I think the Horizon Arctic is the only tank that uses the Arctic coils. I have tried them in my Herakles and Silo Beast with no luck. If you happen to have any Atlantis coils in that "save for when you need it drawer", those will work in a lot of tanks.
  7. Same here. My mixes are all max VG and with very few exceptions all of my purchased liquids are 80% or higher VG. I have never had an issue with any of my high VG liquids in any of my tanks, which include subtank minis, Herakles v1, Arctic, Silo Beast, Triton V1, Lemo v1 and a couple of others I can't remember off the top of my head in addition to my TFV8's. Currently I have two TFV8 Cloud Beasts and two TFV8 Baby Beasts in my daily rotation. Both of these not only handle the high VG content, but my personal experience with the coils has been outstanding. I tend to run lighter, fruit flavored juices as opposed to darker dessert type juices, so that probably plays some role in how long the coils last for me (as well as rotating through 4 tanks daily). The Cloud Beast (6ml tank) will run you about $30 +/- a couple of dollars and the Baby Beast will run you about $20 +/- a couple of dollars online. If you want more flavor than clouds (but still decent clouds) I recommend the Baby Beast. If you want more clouds than flavor (but still a decent amount of flavor), then I recommend the Cloud Beast.
  8. Hadn't heard about Steam-engine coming down. The way I understood the regs, firmware updates are regulated because they alter the device from its original format. Sort of the same way, in the FDA's view, changing a factory coil for someone else is altering a device. But to regulate software or websites? If that's the case and if Steam-engine is coming down because of FDA regs and if apps fall under FDA regs, then I'm sure it won't be long before someone files a lawsuit against the FDA specifically for infringing on 1st Amendment rights. Regulating vaping software or a website that provides information on how many wraps of a certain gauge wire around a certain diameter bit to create a coil that hits a certain ohm rating (all information that is backed up by science and mathematics, by the way) is akin to trying to regulating CAD/CAM software because an RDA can be made on a CNC machine.
  9. The only batteries I have ever received fully charged are the batteries I used to buy at one of the B&M's I go to. Until the FDA regs they would charge all of their batteries as a courtesy for customers. Batteries through the mail have never been fully charged.
  10. Welcome to VT. Be prepared for lots of questions, lots of advice and lots of recommendations. As @Tam mentioned, you may just need to mix up your juice flavors. For some people a single flavor works, for others, we need a variety. As @FXRich mentioned, darker and/or sweeter juices can be rough on coils. If you truly want to upgrade to something else, then I can make some recommendations, but those recommendations would depend on what a reasonable price is to you. What I find reasonable may not be reasonable to you, or your limit may be higher than I find reasonable. Kanger makes fine products. I started with a Kanger EMOW kit and own a couple of Kanger tanks. There are several Kanger products that might interest you in the Vapor Talk store. Personally, though, I am partial to Sigelei regulated box mods. I currently own four of them; an older Sigelei 100+ and three Sigelei Fuchai 213's. They don't, however, come bundled with a tank (though you might find a vendor that has a "package deal"). For tanks, I have been vaping on the SMOK TFV8 Cloud Beasts and Baby Beasts. The flavor production of the Baby Beast is nothing short of phenomenal, but it only has a 3ml capacity, which doesn't work for a lot of people (in fact, as a daily driver it doesn't work for me, either). That being said, I went through more tanks than I bothered to count on the Baby Beast before I had to change a coil,. The reason I had to change the coils wasn't because it lost it's luster. The reason was because during a rather intoxicating chain vaping session, I let it go dry and burned the cotton. I have no doubt I would have gotten several more tanks before the coil absolutely had to be changed. That was with dark juices, light juices, sweet juices, not so sweet juices, fruity flavors and dessert flavors. Alternatively, SMOK also just released the "Alien Kit", which includes their new Alien 220 watt regulated mod and a Baby Beast for about $60 (shop around).
  11. Your mech mods are going to be limited by the batteries you use in them in conjunction with the way you build your coils. It isn't that your mech mod "handles" certain ohms, it's that batteries have a limit. I have seen guys build as low as .05 ohms and while I don't recommend it, with the right batteries it can be done. Again, I don't recommend it. Situations like that are why people win the Darwin Award. Check out Steam-Engine like I recommended in my previous post and do some research on Ohm's Law to gain some insight into the relationships between amps, watts and volts. I promise, it will all start to make sense. As @FXRich mentioned in his reply, though, get an ohm meter and don't get a cheap one. "Cheap" is relative, because you can get good ohm meters for $15 to $20. Cheap in this case refers more to poorly made rather than price.
  12. Steam-engine is a great resource, not just for learning about making coils, but for general information regarding Ohm's Law, battery safety and other things vape related. Also, if you're an android user, check out Vape Tool, an app available in the Google Play Store. I don't know if it's available for iOS or not.
  13. Well, at least the "trigger happy cop" had a guy move into a shooting stance and point something at him in a threatening manner prior to making the decision to defend himself by pulling the trigger...unlike the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department sergeant who was shot execution style yesterday by some dirtbag and wasn't given an opportunity to defend himself.
  14. Pueblo may have a much lower cost of living than El Cajon, but I think the VA rep you spoke to is either pulling your leg or is living with his head in the clouds where the crime rate is concerned. It is higher than the national average in both violent and property crime rates while El Cajon is lower. In fact, Pueblo has a crime rate more than twice as high as El Cajon. There are going to be trade-offs no matter where you end up.

  16. Also...check the 510 connector on the RX 200 to make sure it isn't stuck in a down position. You might also check the 510 connector on the tank to make sure it isn't dirty. I have seen situations where an atty was screwed down just a hair too tight and the pin on the mod got stuck in q downward position and I have seen dirty connectors on attys that resulted in "check atomizer" messages. Sent from my heart using the Vapor Talk App. OK...OK...I'm kidding. I have no heart. But I did use the Vapor Talk Mobile App.
  17. My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone in the way, but hurricanes are a classic example of why I live in Southern California. I'll take wildfires and earthquakes any day over the wrath of a hurricane or flooding...or both. Sent from my heart using the Vapor Talk App. OK...OK...I'm kidding. I have no heart. But I did use the Vapor Talk Mobile App.
  18. The Baby Beast is absolutely awesome in both flavor and vapor production. In spite of it's small capacity (3 ml), it is probably my favorite tank to date. I have 2 of them, in fact.
  19. Ahhh...almost sounds like you might be a victim of the FDA Deeming Regs, where you used to take your atty's to your local B&M to have them do builds for you and now your hand is being forced. No worries there, though. There are plenty of us who can help get you going in the right direction. Don't hesitate to ask when you get ready to start doing your own builds.
  20. Well, what type of RDA do you use now? Is it a 2 post, 3 post or 4 post? Whichever it is, do you like it? I started out on 4 post RDAs. I never really got excited about any 3 post RDAs. Now I tend to lean more toward 2 post designs for smaller RDAs because it provides a little more build room. If it were me, I'd go for the v3 in copper and SS. The copper for the look. The deck is SS. 2 post design with two holes per post aligned vertically in each post and the grub screws are on the side. Very easy to build on.
  21. That could be any number of mechs. Except for the fact mine is copper, it looks just like my Arthas. I'm going to assume there is no information on the firing button about the manufacturer. If there is, take a pic of the firing button and one of us may be able to track down info. The atty looks familiar, just can't positively id it yet. In the meantime, take the atty off of the mech and look at the bottom. Most manufacturers put some sort of id markings on the bottom of the deck.
  22. I like that v2 version of the kit with the larger diameter jig options, the cutouts for batteries and the space for a small spool of wire. I have the v1 version, which is still pretty nice. I've been holding off on getting a v2 until I go to ECC this year. I got my v1 coil kit at ECC last year for $20 so I'm hoping I'll be able to get a v2 for that this year.
  23. There are several basic ohm meters out there that are more than adequate. Off the top of my head: Coil Master and Eleaf come to mind. Coil Master makes a basic ohm meter and they also make the more advanced 521 Tab, which will also fire your coils for you to test while you are building them. This one in the Vapor Talk store is identical to the basic Coil Master ohm meter. I'm not sure if it's made by CM or if they are manufactured and then sold under multiple names, but it's more than adequate for learning the ins and outs of building coils.
  24. Make sure you do your research if you don't currently use an RDA and have only had minimal experience with them. Safety first. Good batteries, an ohm meter and some basic knowledge of Ohm's Law are all musts when using RDA's, even if those RDA's are on regulated mods the coils are pre-made coils. Blatant disregard for vaping safety is most likely the leading cause of people ending up on the news after they have a battery go boom in their mod, in their pocket, in their hand bag or in their backpack. There are many of us around here who are more than happy to chime in and talk you through things. Of course, if you DO have experience with RDA's (beyond simply trying a friends), then hopefully you have already done your research and know the safety aspects.
