Vapor Guy got a reaction from smacksy in IPV4 QUESTION
IPV 4S has voltage presets but no way to lock the voltage so if you hit the plus or minus key it will change the voltage
The IPV 4 will lock the voltage going up, you have to hit the down key first to adjust up, at least the original one did. don't know if it still does with updates

Nice looks like they made it good, especially the battery door that was a huge disappointment on the d2

I wonder why the 4/4s can not be updated to 200 watts. They use the same chip as the 3 LI

The IPV 3 LI 165 watt upgradable to 200 watts. Looks good, anyone get one yet. I'm wondering if the quality is as good as the 4/4S

Yeah, they work great too. So much easier to wick. I replaced both my RBAs with the new ones. It's getting so easy to use these now.

I will tell you exactly what you did, you burned out the coil and now every hit will taste like crap and burn because you are now taking in one part vapor and 3 parts burned up coil. Change your coil, clean your tank real well and try it at 26 watts to start see how that hits then go up slowly to about 36 watts and see. I bet you around 28 or a little higher will taste better. And for the future just because your box can go to 50watts doesn't mean you should. Also your occ coil may be rated for 50 watts max like they say 30-50watts on the coil. Every time I had a coil say that the higher wattage will burn it out, stick with the lower end of the recommend wattage for the coil. Hope this helps

Picked up a new Kanger Subtank mini today with a pack of there nickel coils, the Occ ones seem decent.
To my surprise with the new ones they are coming with the vertical occ coils, but the big surprise was the RBA, that now has the holes drilled direct from Kanger now, I figured I would share since I seen the video in this thread showing how the older ones can be modded by drilling with a dremal. Guess Kangertech listened. Took a photo to show you guys

I'm assuming you have a subox mini since its the only 50w mod Kanger makes. The horizon factory coils are 1.2, .5, .2, I'm also assuming you are not using the .2ohm coil, since that mod is not supposed to fire below .3 ohms.
.5ohms @ 50w = 5v 30w = 3.8v
1.2ohms @ 50w = 7.75v 30w = 6v
Hopefully you are not using the 1.2 coil, if you are using the .5 coil you are probably using too many watts, turn it back down to 30 watts or lower.

Ni200 vertical coil in a subtank mini verdict after 2 days and 4 tanks gone and a wick change compared to the same ohm horizontal coil............ HOMERUN! Very little to no spit back like a horizontal coil. Flavor imo 50% better and the vapor production is out of this world. Gonna stick with the vertical coil for a while.

Oh, and I don't like my cotton too tight. A little resistance as its pulled thru the coil, then thin out the ends.
im also thinking of modding my sub tank RBA like this......

Vapor Guy reacted to Adversarious1 in UD Goliath 2 build with NI200
This can be a lot more complicated than what I'm about to explain, but in this particular case with a dual coil build, whether it's kanthal, Ni200 or Ti1, you are giving the electricity two paths to travel through, thus cutting the resistance in half. If you were to make a single coil that contained the same number of wraps of both coils combined (for instance a single 22 wrap coil vs. 2x 11 wrap coils) you would be doubling the distance the electricity needs to travel along a single path and you would see the ohms double.
Analogy of the day: 100 cars traveling on a single lane highway would create create more traffic than those same 100 cars traveling down a two lane highway. More lanes = less resistance.
I'm a nerd and would be happy to explain further if you'd like me to, but I hope this explanation helps.

I have the 100 watt IPV 4 and I have been compleatly impressed with it. First off it has taken some falls and tumbles and still works like a champ.
Also I like the fact you can update your firmware with this mod. I did and gained a extra 20 watts so essentially it's the same as the 4s.
Been dripping and using it as my daily power horse for my sub ohm tanks. The mod never gets tired and screams for more. Good choice for a buy you will love it.

Vapor Guy reacted to jasonculp in How to update the IPV 4 firmware
It is a great feature. I wish they all did it. The new DNA200 is even a level above updatability. DNA200 data sheet (PDF) It allows full customization. I have only had one that could be updated (ipv3). I really want the ipv mini D2, it can not be updated. YiHi only makes certain boards that can be updated.

Like you said a Black Market will come of it. Is what it is I guess. I don't get the Government at all. First they tax the crap out of Regular Smokes. Then they make Tobacco company's put warnings on how bad smokes are and they can kill you. Then they launch campaigns quit smoking & let us help you stop smoking etc.. Then some outside sources do the same and follow suit. So do some large drug companies. Now that we stopped smoking like they preached in the first place, now they are like oh **** where is our large tax dollar revenue stream, we are losing all of our money from smokers who made the change to vaping. lol
Government, politicians, elected officials are supposed to listen to what the people want, not make up there own minds on what they want. I can promise nobody that vapes said hey lets tax this, and nobody that smokes said hey lets tax vaping, maybe a couple board fools, but other then that there is a louder noise from us saying do not tax this, do not classify this the same as smoking tobacco. Do they listen to the people? NOPE. They listen to big business, the drug company that is losing billions on people quitting by not using there drugs, big business like the tobacco company that wants to level the playing field, hey vaping should cost what smoking does they yell. Government is big business itself. The wasteful spending, the wars nobody wanted, the big taxes on the little guys. If you think about it for to long it makes your head spin. It even hurts worse when it is realized we cant do anything about it. It was the same with online poker, the government destroyed it, while other governments regulated it in a fair way.

Why do you think Juice company's and us that use vapor do not want these laws with taxes to pass? Some states don't even want flavors they just want tobacco& Menthol. Some of these laws and taxes will kill the small sized juice business

http://www.tasteyourjuice.com/wordpress/2015/05/14/ipv4-charge-port-update/
Just sharing to those who are considering an IPV 4, who may or may not have done due diligence...yet You will need a 9V DC round charger up to 2A (I tried it with 1A since I have it laying around, and works fine), if you plan on board charging regularly or in emergency. USB is for updates only.
grats on the new mod, Vapor Guy.
