I went to a shop I frequent when I'm in that particular town today. The owner has a Subtank and I was discussing my noticeable difference between flavor versus the Atlantis. He told me that he has seen 2 Atlantis tanks come in since Christmas and the customers complained about poor cloud performance. After verifying what juice they were using he has surmised that these two are clones. He asked where they purchased them and they both purchased them from another vape shop in the area for $25.00. He put a real Aspire coil in them and the difference was night and day. Not saying you have a clone but is it a possibility?

I'm not sure that's is a good gauge of performance. I've been vaping on my tank all day and have been watching the head. I only get bubbles out of one side and not the other. Again, not performance issues..

I have rebuilt a few of mine and there is a fine line between getting it right and having it flood or dry hit.

Good luck and let us know how it goes. Personally I am going to start using the RBA for my Chocolate Peanutbutter vape. The darker juices tend to cake up your coils quickly and 100ft of Kanthal builds a lot of coils for $6.00 so I'm right there with you on the cost!

I ran as high as 99%VG and had no dry hits, thinner stuff never flooded. The higher the VG the better the cloud.

I'm not, running 80VG juice. What wattage are you running at? I ran my Atlantis between 35-40 watts but my Sub I only have to run between 25 and 28 watts. Also, I prime my new OCC heads and let them soak for about 10 minutes before I start them up. *EDIT* The first head change I did I had dry hits on a 60VG juice. A chocolate variant. I re-wicked with a 50/50 juice and then tried the 60VG again and had no problems. Thats when I realized that I was burning the cotton because I had the wattage jacked up too high. I now know 4 people personally that have the Subtank and they are all running at 25ish watts with no issues.

That is odd. What PG/VG are you vaping? Does this happen with different ejuice? I was doing 99%VG in mine and never had a problem with it wicking or flooding. Depending on your mod you can vary but 0.5-0.6 is normal.

I'm with you on that! Someone told me yesterday about "Hot Dog Water".

On my Sigelei it hangs off about 1/2mm. With the rubber sleeve on it it lines up perfectly. Have you tried a Sub Tank yet? I'm a service tech, so driving around all day and not having to fill my tank 2, 3 or 4 times a day was another factor.

Well I'm only into vaping for 3 months now. I started with a Nautilus and moved on to the Atlantis. I liked the Nautilus until I tried the Atlantis. Being a former cigar smoker I was looking for more cloud. The Atlantis provided that but I always thought the flavor was better from the Nautilus. A compromise I was willing to make until I tried the Sub Tank. Admittedly, the Sub Tank had an issue right out of the box with the 0.5 Ohm OCC head but I purchased a new box of heads and it has performed flawlessly since. I ran my Atlantis at 40 watts, which is suggested by Aspire. The Sub Tank I run at 25 watts and have better flavor than I did with my Nautilus and save battery life. I've let about 9 people with Atlantis tanks try my Sub Tank side by side with my Atlantis, same juice and every one of them picked the Sub Tank and commented on how much better the flavor was and produced the same or better vapor. I don't have a dog in this hunt, Aspire makes good products I just know for me the Kanger is the hands down winner in this round. If the longer chimney on the 5ml Atlantis tank improves the flavor, I'll buy another one.

Hope the extended chimney helps the lack of flavor that currently plagues the Atlantis.

Ditched my 2 Atlantis tanks and bought another Kanger Sub Tank.......oh the flavor! Also picked up a Dark Horse clone.
