  1. Since it has been mentioned in this thread that you never know when you are buying authentic vs clones, I notice that much of the stuff in the store is not marked either way? For example, I doubt that Hades Mech at $23.99 is authentic but it doesn't say one way or the other.
  2. I agree 100%. Especially for beginners who don't really know what they are getting or know exactly what they need. A B&M may sell unmarked clones but you will never be scammed the way the OP is describing Plus, with a B&M, you can pay cash; a sure guarantee there will no credit card voodoo going on. No online retailer can offer that protection.
  3. I would like to find a juice that tastes like NyQuil. I don't know why but I have loved that stuff since I was a kid.
  4. The humor is so dry it's almost flammable. mini screwdriver review
  5. I have been around the Internet for almost as long as Al Gore. This is the finest discussion forum software I have seen. Everything is in the right places with tons of features, especially on the View New Content page. to the admins for a great choice and providing a good foundation for the community. cop
  6. UPDATE: This thing just went totally dead on me. No display of any kind. Does not fire. It does appear to be charging the battery but it's only been 4 hours since a full charge so that is likely not the problem. Contacted Protovar who have already provided return shipping for repair. A++ for support & service. Just when I thought I was one of the lucky few who got a good board, welcome to the real world.
  7. I have been using an XPV by Protovapor with DNA 40 for two weeks but I cannot make myself like this board. Ni200 is a serious pain in the *** to work with, and almost impossible to dual coil and stay above 0.1. But most importantly, I just can't get the same quality of vape that I get with Kanthal builds. I have read all of the spec and data sheets and tried every variable I can find, but I'm not feeling the love. I haven't given up yet, but I'm getting close. Keep your eye on classifieds if you want one to play with.
  8. IMHO, the answer to these questions depends on if you are looking for an easy off-the-shelf solution or you are interested in venturing into the world of RDAs, building coils, better devices, etc. For many people, the latter is a big step with many many choices requiring increased knowledge and safety concerns. As with most things, how much time and effort do you want to invest in getting those big clouds? The easy way to try and get the most out of what you have, would be to get something like a Nautilus with a BVC coils (these are off the shelf items) and use a higher VG juice. I have had success with up to 70% VG on a Nautilus. HTH
  9. The following link is to a scientific study. It is rather long, but the summary paragraph at the top of the page provides a pretty clear picture of the difference between vaping and smoking: Nicotine absorption from electronic cigarette use...
  10. Perhaps I should not have posted that because this does seem to be a controversial topic. But essential oils are not oils in the typical sense. The are "concentrated hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants". In fact, I have seen food chemists state that these essential oils are already in many of the food flavorings that we are already using. I am not arguing your point because I just don't know. Just stating what I have seen so far. DISCLAIMER: I am just starting to learn about essential oils in DIY primarily as a means of eliminating PG in my liquids. Any going down this path should do their own research to make sure it is safe.
  11. Then it's a sealed deal. Count me in...................oh........and pass the cookies.........please.
  12. So your primary interest is big vapor production, a.k.a. cloud chasing? Are you interested in learning to build coils and use rebuildable atomizers? What are you currently using on top of your MVP?
  13. The gov't can do this anytime they want to. They have had the evidence for years. But guess what?
  14. I use the Zen method.
  15. Same thing here. After years without a cavity or tooth problem of any kind, within a few months of starting to vape, cavities began to spring up right and left. My mouth and gums are also more more sensitive than they ever were when smoking but my dentist said that is to be expected.
  16. I would probably still vape. I have always thought I was more attached to the physical aspect of smoking than the nicotine.
  17. Answered menthol but it leans more toward sweet mint flavors such as peppermint.
  18. 30-40 mils per week but it can vary wildly based on work.
  19. The option I would have chosen is not available; Desktop PC using Safari I answered iPad because I often use that also.
  20. I have never been able to make a 100% VG and quite honestly would not want to because it would not work in any of my clearos. I have developed a PG-free recipe with all the flavor coming form essential oils, plus water to thin it to an approx 50/50 viscosity: VG Nic Base + VG + 18% distilled H2O + 2% pure peppermint oil I have found this works in any type of carto, clearo, rba, or rda, but the strength of the peppermint and the sweetness of the VG will vary based on the topper used. My next step is to try some of the other fruit flavor essential oils.
  21. I was a frustrated vapor initially because I was trying to find something like a cigarette. But vaping is an alternative not a replacement, if that makes sense. Find flavors you like in the real world rather tobacco flavors, then the sky is the limit with everything from peppermint to pastry flavors. Have fun and experiment. If you have a B&M close by, they probably have free taste testing.
  22. Welcome from another new veteran vaper.
  23. Hi everyone, Just found this forum through the Velvet Vapors web site. Been vaping since 2008, but recently started looking for a new forum that better suited me. Hope to find a happy home here. copper
