AimeeG got a reaction from texassmokes in Diy-How To Basics
A mixing calculator is helpful. Here's one. Here's another. And one more. The last one is useful on a iPod Touch or iPhone only. I'm sure there is an Android version of something similar. Good luck and happy mixing and vaping!

AimeeG got a reaction from Christopher in Ego-T Battery Leaks At Button
Chris, I didn't want to say where it was from. I hope you appreciate me withholding that. I'm only trying to figure out what it is that I'm sure I'm doing wrong. When I just pressed on the button to see if it was discolored behind it (i.e., the color of the liquid), it is not. Nice, bright, shiny white LED. It seems that is a simply a case of liquid running down the sides and defying gravity to go around the button (as I rest it button up at the fifteen degree angle, as mentioned previously). It's not a huge issue, I was merely curious if it happened to anyone else and see what I might be doing wrong. Placing it in a cup of some sort while it rests will likely help, especially when it's overnight and in the off mode. I appreciate the help and the service, if it were indeed warranted. (Not the same as "under warranty".)

Welcome to VT!!
Both the eGo (XL) and the Volt are great starter kits. The eGo will take you beyond starter into the wide world of variety. There's always something new coming out for the eGo maniacs to try. The eGo with the Mega Dual Coil cartos are the hot ticket item at this date in time. Madvapes automatic drip system is another hot item for the eGo. (the list goes on and on).
If you get an eGo, (hghly recommended), then be sure to get the Manual type battery... also the XL batteries will handle LR better without shortening the overall life of the battery.
The VOLT is awesome too, and perhaps more Social friendly. (out on the town). I would get this in an Automatic. Just be sure to take the cartomizer OFF the battery to top off. You are mostly a weekend "smoker" and this would work well for you. It produces great vapor and is elegant in style. The Prefilled cartomizers are really handy and they'll be coming out with more and better flavors soon (if not already). You can also use any typical prefilled KR808 carto with these. They're individually wrapped and as long as they're kept in a cool dark place (lower cupboard ie) then you'll always have some on hand for the night out on the town.
Same goes for the eGo too, only in the 510 connection of course. LiquidXpress has a nice Honey Flu Cured Tobacco for instance.
Best of luck to you... and don't sweat it. If you're anything like the rest of us, you'll need a back up kit to soothe the worried mind. Getting both the eGo and the Volt is not far fetched. It's just a matter of time....
Relax and enjoy!! You're on the right track already and will do just fine.

Ooh some Cosmic Energy .. nice! Welcome to VT
I think either option is an excellent start for you. Honestly, I don't think there's one person here who can say they didn't aim to replicate that "real cig" feel when they first started vaping. Most of, if not all, felt exactly the same way and for all the same reasons. Again, if you opt for the Volt because it looks more like a real cigarette in size and shape then it is a good choice. The goal is to make the transition as smoothly as possible.
That being said here are some things to consider that we have discovered by initially opting for the "mini" style e-cig such as the Volt:
1. Battery life .. these do not last very long.
2. Versatility .. most of us have needed to fine tune our vaping setup and the minis offer little room for versatility; the various styles and differences in atomizers and other accessories .. there are so many to look forward to! A fine example is that most of us end up preferring the "low resistance" atomizers or cartomizers which you should not use on small batteries as a safety precaution.
3. Vaping vs Smoking .. even a small style battery like this feels awkward when held like a cigarette. While it's not at all heavy, it's still heavier than a traditional cigarette. Whether you opt for an auto or manual battery it is unlikely you will hold it the same or rest it from your lips like you may with a cigarette.
4. Comfort .. once graduating to an eGo you realize it's nowhere near as large as you think it will be and it's actually a lot more comfy than the mini style batteries to hold (remember, you are likely to hold it differently - NOT like a traditional cig).
My first purchase consisted of two different mini models (one with a PCC). I vaped them for about two weeks before I bought an eGo. That was almost a year and half ago now and I haven't looked back. The eGo is just as attractive as the mini but I can do so much more with it. I still love the eGo to this day and use it daily, all day. There isn't as much help problem solving issues with the smaller batteries because there are so many models but so few experienced users. The eGo is widely recognized and used by the vast community of vapers and you can always find help trouble shooting issues you may experience.
The Volt is very attractive and is more than likely just what you need to get away from smoking cigarettes. At the end of the day, your lungs will thank you for it

First, let me welcome you to the forum!
That's some heavy smoking while drinking for an otherwise non smoker, story or lives right? One thing important you need to know is strength. If you're smoking a pack per session I'd suggest that you purchase e liquid that is 24mg. Sure you can buy 24mg carts, but we don't suggest it. It'll end up costing you more money than you need to spend. Purchase liquid by the bottle and drip into your cartomizer or atomizer.
Don't expect to find a liquid that tastes exactly like any brand of cigarette. It just isn't going to happen. Because an ecig doesn't burn anything it's almost impossible to replicate the taste of cigarettes. Though I would suggest the following flavors, USA Mix/Blend, 555 or our Traditional Tobacco (shameless plug)
You already know about direct dripping and cartomizers which is great. That's half the battle. I would normally suggest a Joye 510 for a social smoker but, because you smoke so much while you drink, the Joye eGo is probably a batter bet. The reason for this is because the eGo will last upwards of 12 hours. The Joye 510 only lasts about 2 hours.
This is correct. It is ESPECIALLY true if you are going to direct drip. Auto batteries are nice but the liquid will enter the draw/air hole and destroy the battery. (Within a week or two usually) This isn't an issue with manual batteries. I'd say about 98% of us use manual batteries. And honestly, it becomes second nature, you don't even notice there is a button after a while.
Hope that helps

AimeeG reacted to KaYoTiiC in Sweet-Vapes
Hmmm I find Sweet-Vapes quite reasonable... especially with the quality of their juice, i can't even tell you how many flavors I've tried from Dayna and all of them has been top notch and the shipping is ridiculously fast... and i don't see how you consider that high either.
I'm a strong believer in quality over quantity.. Sweet-Vapes has done nothing but blow my mind with each juice i try, especially "Butter Pecan Ice Cream"
Also you can't go wrong with VT's either... Sweet Dawn is great and Dulcis is even better. If i were you I'd definitely give sweet-vapes a try, Dayna is awesome and I've never heard one bad thing about any of their juices

AimeeG reacted to grandpawrichard in My Thoughts On E-Cig Flavors By A Newbie
My thoughts on E-Cig Flavors
Being that I’m a new E-Cig user and enjoying it immensely I thought I would write a little review of each flavor I have tried so far.
My first flavor tried with my new kit was Chocolate Raspberry. Oh My Goodness! I love the flavor! It has a sweet, long lasting flavor that is pleasantly mild, but gives a very nice throat hit and plenty of vapors. I completely used up the juice in this sample Carto and plan to order more of it!
When that Carto was used up I tried the Orange flavor sample. My first impression was “is there any flavor to this Carto?” I guess it was because I had just finished off my Chocolate Raspberry Carto. So I set it down and decided I would try it out the next morning. More to follow at a little later date.
In the mean time, I pulled out a blank Carto and my bottle of Spearmint Nobacco. I carefully loaded the Carto with juice. Then I put it on a battery and took a hit. OMG! Talk about a Powerful, Flavorful Throat Hit! Dang I love the Spearmint flavor! It is an INTENSE Flavor with a Long Lasting Taste!
I grew up loving the taste of Strong Spearmint, Peppermint and Wintergreen, so I personally feel that this flavor is a Keeper and it is going to be one of my all time favorites!
My wife let me try Vapeing in the house last night to see if it was going to leave an unpleasant odor. She seemed to enjoy the smell of the Chocolate Raspberry and had Zero complaints about me using that flavor inside.
To all of those people that say there is No Odor from Vaping, good luck with that! I could smell the scent of the Chocolate Raspberry last night when I came in from being outside and I noticed it this morning when I got out of bed.
I convinced a friend of ours to order a starters kit. She received her kit yesterday too. This morning she finally tried out her E-Cig. She is a heavy smoker like me and she has always been adamant that she “Will Not Smoke in her house!” Well, she pulled out the E-Cig, installed a Menthol flavored Carto on the battery and took a few drags. She says she enjoyed it very much. But then an hour or so later she called me and cussed me out because the E-Cig had left a Cigarette Smell in her house!
So, in my Honest and Humble Opinion, the statement that E-Cigs do not have an odor is not true. Granted, it is just vapor, but it does have a scent to it that lingers. So Please be Careful Around others and try to respect their rights too. That way all of us Vapers have a little better chance of being understood and accepted!
As I try out other flavors I’ll let you know what I think. (oh, by the way; I haven’t had an analog ever since I opened up my starters kit yesterday afternoon at about 2 p.m.! That’s about 18 hours without!)

AimeeG reacted to Wenchy69 in Sweet Vapes
I know so many of you guys are mad crazy Sweep Vapes fans, which is why I bit the bullet and placed an order. Vanilla Custard, Starbuckets Latte and Blueberry Shortcake were my choices. Can't say I'm feeling the love for any of them. Really disappointed to be honest. I am one of those who has dead taste buds, so really thought that given the rave reviews here, Sweet Vapes might put me in heaven.
My absolute all time fav vape is Ms T's Vanilla Custard.... can't get enough of that stuff. It's just that there always seems to be issues with placing orders on her site. Have to always end up emailing what I want. Something to do with being an O/S customer apparently.
Anyway, I was SO hoping that the Sweet Vapes Vanilla Custard would be as good as Ms T's. Not so. It certainly smells very similar, but the flavour is just not there. I even ordered double flavour. Grrr! So annoyed at my stupid taste buds!!!
I am in no way bagging Sweet Vapes! The shipping was great, considering we had 5 days of Easter holidays here. Prices Ok, and Dayna was lovely to do business with. No complaints there whatsoever.
I know a couple of you have rotten taste buds like myself. Nanna I think is one? Can anyone recommend a truly sweet/strong flavour?
Also, I very rarely see any Ms T fans around. Anyone out there?

AimeeG reacted to DerStadtschutz in Fda To Regulate E-Cigs As Tobacco Products
This has nothing to do with tests or health, QT. If they honestly cared about our health, aspartame wouldn't be allowed, cigarettes would have been outlawed a LONG time ago, pot would be legal, alcohol would be looked down on as much worse than pot(which it completely is. Oh, and cigarettes are worse for you than pot too. no 4K chemicals, just one that occurs naturally called THC), we wouldn't have Chantix, and they wouldn't be prescribing RAT POISON for people with low blood pressure. The FDA doesn't give a rat's *** about anybody's health. They only exist to protect corporations and control what's supposed to be a free market. The FDA is supposed to exist to protect us from harmful things in our food and medicine, but that's not at all what they do.
I have a friend who was told that he had high blood pressure, and it absolutely COULD NOT be cured with diet, exercise, or vitamins/minerals, or any kind of food change. He was told he absolutely would need drugs to fix it. Within a year his blood pressure is perfectly fine thanks to garlic, diet, and exercise. It is a FACT that garlic will lower blood pressure, but if you try to put that message out there, the FDA will be up your *** so fast you won't know what happened. That is a terrible thing, and it's simply not right. We all know here that it's a fact that e-cigs will help you quit smoking. However, the FDA doesn't want anyone saying so... Well why the hell not? If they're so interested in health, you'd think they'd want facts about health to be widespread and well known. The simple answer is they don't care about health. This isn't about them unsure about something and wanting to make sure it's safe at all. They're paid off by big pharma. If you don't believe that, then you're incredibly naive, and I have some snake oil I'd like to sell you, along with beach front property in Siberia.
If the FDA were really out for our best interest, they'd want good health information like that to be spread around so we can all stay healthy. However, if we're healthy, we don't need drugs, and if we were smart, we wouldn't eat processed food. They don't want any of that. They are out to protect food and drug corporations, plain and simple. If they gave a crap about us, there never would have been any reason to go against e-cigs in the first place.
Oh by the way, the wonderful FDA apparently wants to regulate vitamins now too, and just the other day I saw something on the news that basically said vitamins are bad and that you need to consult your doctor before taking any because they might interfere with medication... What a crock. Not everybody takes medication on a regular basis, and there's no reason why anyone should. It's not normal, and it means you're not healthy. Health is achieved by eating right, not popping pills. Pills certainly have their place, but I think they should only be a last resort unless you absolutely can not live without them. I avoid them as much as possible because they cause other health problems, and there's almost always an alternative.

AimeeG reacted to ThaLadyD in Caffeine Energy Blend?
Thats what I was thinking.. it should be kept as clean as possible because we don't even know the true inhalation risks of traditional ingredients. Some chemicals change into toxic one's when heated/vaporized, and there's usually not many studies done (for inhalation) on products made for consumption. I've recently heard that vanillin is one of those ingredients, but it was just a post on a forum, not confirmed..
Also, because we hear of college kids dying from drinking alcohol with it.. it just scares me a bit. Abuse or mistakes are too easy, and it would hurt the community overall (imo).
Nicotine is dangerous enough, and the FDA is already all over the alcohol/caffine stuff, why add another ingredient they seem so interested to regulate?

Ok Good Punch Flavor, Really Full, Definitely A Mix Of Fruits Here Not A Single Blend Punch Flavor. Very Sweet, A Little Tart. Now Its Not A Spot On Replica Of Its Name Sake But Its Really Close On The After Taste. Most of us here who are vaping aren't doctors, therefore, I don't know how you expect the vaping community to deliver what you are looking for. A few here on VT are nurses. Though I'm not one of them, I am a teacher, and I do teach my students how to research. While Wikipedia may not have had the best marks in the past for their reputableness (yes, I'm aware that's not a word, but as an English major I make words up like the Bard), this information on nic toxicology is quite good.
If you scroll down a bit after Toxicology, there's some very interesting insight into nicotine's (gasp) therapeutic uses.
Links provided at that entry led me to an entry on electronic cigs. While ambiguous and not as thorough as I would like, it does have decent information.
If you are so worried about it, I'd talk to your doctor, not some folks on an internet forum. The vendors are not practicing bad business, in my opinion, by not suppling this information. It is up to the end user to do what feels comfortable for her/himself. The FDA is not (yet) regulating these devices. And I hope they don't, ever. They really turned cigarettes into quite a debacle.
Best of luck and I hope you find what works for you.

AimeeG reacted to nana in Difficulty Being A Noobie
Right up front...I'm sorry...but I'm going to say this. I've read your post several times and I keep seeing this..."I know that if I smoke so many "analogs" I am safe". Seriously? You think you are "safe" smoking analogs? I'm really sorry, but there is no way you are "safe" with analogs. If you vaped so much that you "actually threw up a couple of times", you were vaping way too much or a very, very high mg of nic. Why did you not back off if you were throwing up? I don't understand that. It makes no sense to me.
As far as..."ALL OF THE MEDICAL INFORMATION NOT PROVIDED IN THE VAPING COMMUNITY as far as nicotine overdose"...we are all taking a chance by vaping instead of smoking. We all made up our own minds and decided for ourselves that we were better off without all the extra chemicals that came with smoking. We have never claimed to be doctors, nor have we claimed to know all the answers. We just know that we feel better. But...several people have asked their doctors about vaping and were told it was much, much better. Most doctors are all for it. As far as I know, none of those doctors have given out written instructions about nicotine overdose. But I do think you could probably do some searching and find those answers for yourself if you really want them. I think that most of us have just "played it by ear" and decided what we needed and how much and how often. Since you do not seem to be comfortable with that, and you seem to be so terribly worried about how safe vaping is, and you seem to think that smoking is safe, perhaps you should visit your own doctor and get your answers there.
"I think the "vaping" endorsers should come out with some type of guide line as far as nicotine levels, this is just bad business and I personally do not want to gamble with my health even more." Really? I happen to think that the suppliers are doing an awesome job with the information they give out. They give you all the information needed to make an intelligent decision. You know exactly what ingredients are in the liquid. Do you know exactly what ingredients are in cigarettes? Do the companies who sell cigarettes give you the kind of information you think the vaping vendors should give?
I am curious if you went into this much detail and worry before you started smoking. Did you know (before you got all these answers to your post) exactly how much nicotine you were taking in while smoking? I never did. I never saw anything, anywhere, that told me how much nicotine I was taking into my system per cigarette. Did you know for a fact how many cigarettes you would have to smoke before you got nicotine poisoning? Where does it tell you how many cigarettes you have to smoke before you get cancer? I don't see that kind of information out there in ads or on cigarette packages. But you should read the warnings on all the "quit smoking" stuff they have out there...especially chantix. That stuff says outright that you may commit suicide if you use the stuff.
Most of us have tried all the different ways to quit smoking because we knew it wasn't good for us. It didn't work. That's why we chose to vape instead. For most of the people in this forum, vaping did work for us. We're all happy with our decision. We come to this forum to help out any of the new people who are looking for answers, because people helped us get started in the same way. We are here because we care and we want to help. We don't have all the answers, but we do the best we can. I know that everyone here would be willing to help you out all they can, but no one here has all the answers. Some things you just have to do yourself.
I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do for yourself...be that smoking, or vaping.

AimeeG reacted to TroopX in Difficulty Being A Noobie
I'm not a doctor- but I don't smoke anymore- I vape. I couldn't believe I got rid of my 20 yr/ 2ppd habit that fast and so easy.
I vape hard and throughout most of the day on 20-24mg juice without issues. I was concerned at first, but accepted the answer that was "listen to your body". Your body will tell you if you've had enough or too much well before it becomes dangerous IMO. It sounds like you are afraid to try vaping instead of smoking because you don't know how much nicotine you are getting. If that's the case- don't let that be the reason, but rather listen to your body.
We, the vaping community, are guinea pigs per se- as vaping hasn't went through rigorous long term testing. (However, the ingredients have all been studied, ie PG, nicotine)
What should be apparent, is how much better you feel vaping vs smoking. That part was a no-brainer for me.
As far as I remember, there were no labels on chewing tobacco telling the consumer how much to use. I know I've had cigarette hangovers as well. My suggestion to vaping would be take as many pulls on it as need be when you are having a nicotine craving. Put it down when you get your "fix" if you are concerned. Your head isn't going to explode, and your heart will likely thank you for putting down the analogs.
Juice is another issue. Be prepared to buy sample sizes from different vendors until you find something that you like. Read/watch reviews, ask questions here or in the chat. You'll find the ones that work for you!
RE:I know that if I smoke so many "analogs" I am safe
....not even going to touch that one ...vape on!
Good luck and hang in there!

AimeeG reacted to ripple in Artomizer & Lr Atomizer ?
Since I just learned more about this last night in chat I will add to this just because its new in my head. So your vape is depend on POWER which is the same as watts. So your battery voltage combined with the resistance of your atomizer determines your power or wattage when you vaporize your liquid.
So to put some math to this lets use Amiee's numbers and I will call it 2.3 for a standard
So your Power (watts) = Voltage squared / resistance
So for a standard atty on a eGo 3.7 volt battery the math works out to
X = 3.7 (2) / 2.3 which equals 5.95 watts
With a LR atty at 1.5
X - 3.7 (2) / 1.5 which equals 9.12 watts
With the higher wattage you are generating more heat thus warmer vapor quicker juice burn and the other elements discussed above.
Like I said I learned this last night in chat and I think when you get the chance to reinforce new knowledge in your brain - use it!

BIG thanks to Schlitz, DAYVAPE, Beans and Brian. Got a LR 510 adyy and 5 510 2.0 carto's in the mail from Vaporkings today. OMG, I didn't know vapeing could be so sweet. First I tried to drip and learned very quickly I have way to much nic in my juice. Got the dizzy weird feeling. So I cut my juice with a little VG I had... OMG!!!! Flavor for days, I probably sat around and vaped up 5ml with the biggest grin on my face. Then I tried my carto's...... Filled it up via the "condom" method... Oh yeah.. same flavor, little less vapor and TH but a really cool mist and all around great vape. I'm wishing I had all the samples that got wasted on the tank. So it looksl ike I will be juice shopping tonight.
Again... THANKYOU!!!! I have found my PV!!!!!!!!!!
