  1. Welcome to VT! Glad to see someone else quit analogs.
  2. The best clone I have ever seen is the Cartel clone (Iprefer the copper one) by Infinite. It is literally 1:1. VapeRoyalty.com has it for $51-$55 Other than that, anything by Infinite or HCigar is a win. I believe they have the penny mod clone for $35 right now. I use Vape Royalty or Eciggity for all my clones. Stay away from Tobeco clones IMO, pretty bad quality compared to the two I listed above.
  3. The important thing about batteries is getting good ones with legitimate ratings. I use Sony VTC4 and VTC5 batteries (30amp.) If your build is pulling 18amps, don't use a 10amp battery. Wire gauge determines resistance per wrap. Thin wire like 30g has more resistance per inch than thicker wire like 20g. I use between 26-20 gauge wire because its thicker, meaning less resistance. Since its less resistance and so thick I get a lot more surface area while maintaing the low ohms I prefer (0.2ohms roughly.) The reason I use Japanese cotton is because its the cleanest natural cotton to use. I have also used typical organic, rayon, and ss mesh, and to me, Japanese cotton wins on flavor hands down. Now with building, there is a million ways to build, position, and wick coils based on your rda of choice. It really depends on your goal. For clouds, some nice super nanos in a bed of cotton will do it. For flavor, I like nano dragon coils. It's all personal preference.
  4. And I use Sonys so I never have to worry about it.
  5. That was what I thought, he insisted they were 30s.
  6. I've asked the same question, no real response. All I know is, I changed mine out and its fine now.
  7. Probably the spring, my nemmy did this to me once. >_>
  8. Also as for the heat question, build and AIRFLOW are what gives you control over the heat.
  9. It really depends on your build. For example, I run a 0.2 ohm build, which is pretty low so it produces a lot more vapor, because of that I use 4-6mg of nicotine in my juices. The flavor on an RDA is amazing. I use Japanese cotton for my wicks. In all, you can fully customize the hit you want depending on how you build your coils. Just make sure the batteries you use support them. I only use 30amp batteries, most of my builds pull between 15-25amps so 30 amp batteries are safe. Builds I like. Flavor: Dual twisted 30gauge parallels. 5-7wrap. Clouds: Dual 20gauge 5wraps All Day Vape(decent clouds and flavor balance): Dual 24g 5-7wraps. I hope that helps a little bit. I also would suggest checking into other mods, I like the AR but prefer many others. That said, what works for you, works for you! Happy vaping!
  10. Welcome!
  11. Sometimes hot button is from metal shavings getting into the button mechanism or in between threading. Try washing it with tarn x and see if that helps. The shavings are too tiny to see typically, that's why I recommend tarn x cleaning.
  12. I have the same questions lol.
  13. Is the actual battery just getting hot is the mod itself getting hot? Sometimes little metal shavings get scraped into the button and can cause heat issues. Clean the mod with tarn x and see if that helps. If it is just the battery, I don't really know what would cause that.
  14. I was never able to fire below 1.3. I wouldn't try to either way because of the risk of frying the chip.
  15. Either higher resistance or lower your voltage. I use 2600mah batteries, in my variable voltage mods they last me all day and sometimes into the next day. I'm also a chain vaper, so if you don't vape often I've heard of them lasting nearly 3days.
  16. I recommend the ejuicemeup calculator. I've been making liquids since I started vaping (I had a good teacher.) With all the people on this forum you should be able to get an answer to anything and plenty of useful advise. Good luck, keep us updated on your progress, I like to trade recipes!
  17. I'd say the 1600mah rating is the issue as far as how long it lasts. 1600mah is pretty low, but hit quality should be the same since its a regulated device. Hmmmm.
  18. I always advise never using Fasttech. Super slow, super bad quality machining and material 4/5 times.
  19. Mine still works, had it for years. Don't trust it as an ohm reader though.
  20. That's strange, rayon gives me these weird tasting hits every three or four hits, Japanese cotton doesn't. I also have to "break in" rayon and regular cotton. Maybe you have stronger flavored juice than I've been using or something.
  21. That's the way to go right there!
  22. Since the SVD is regulated I would get the higher mah for longer battery life, 35 amps is irrelevant in a mod like the SVD. The lowest an SVD will fire is 1.3ohm coils.
  23. You can't sub ohm on an SVD.
  24. I'd never buy a box mod, you can make any one on the market for $60 or less.
  25. The higher the mah the longer battery life, and with an SVD you're regulated so amperage isn't to much of a concern.
